Review Little Buddha - Middle Park

Madeline Athina
Second visit and food is always exceptional. Lost a star purely for time management between being too busy with takeaway but you just have to go and know what you want and have time/patience. Owners are lovely and food is worth that little time wait. Had roti, spring onion dumplings, pud Thai, prawns and cashew chicken and banana fritters with lots of chocolate on the side. All delicious 😋.

I'll leave the negative aspects of my review until the end. I think it only fair to point out the positives first. The food here is delicious. There are a few different things on the menu here than in other Thai restaurants, and everything I tried was really good. I had the chicken curry puffs and a mango chicken with coconut rice. Everything was good enough to want to come back again. Parking is easy enough, and it's set in a quaint little area in Middle Park. It seems to be a local gem, as the guy doing everything, seemed to know so many people, so that's great as it speaks a lot to the business and the food. With that said ... I know staffing issues can be a problem in restaurants right now; I get that. But I first booked here a few weeks ago, and when the guy on the line said that we'd need to be patient as he's the only staff member, we cancelled the booking. We tried it again now, and it's the same issue. Surely you can hire your niece or your neighbour or just someone, to help bring out food to speed things up. They were slammed with take away orders (I felt like disconnecting the phone line, lol, as patrons were put on the back burner a bit) so that did make things slower, and granted, the guy running around was busy and trying his best. But don't come here if you're in a rush. If you want a slow, long meal, then this is fine. I didn't like how he told one lady sitting down (who'd been there 20 minutes waiting for their order to be taken) that he would tend to the takeaways first. That doesn't sit well with me. But ... the food is good, and in winter when it's cooler (there was only fans spinning and they weren't using the A/C), if they have more staff, I'd definitely try it here again.

One of the best Pad Thai!! Can’t believe could find an authentic Thai restaurant in Middle Park. The staff is so fun and friendly .. but a little bit disappointed no Thai milk tea! Will definitely come back ..

Delicious Thai food! The pepper and garlic beef was super tender, the spice was absolutely perfect. Coconut rice - creamy and fragrant. Pad Thai - a classic done really well. Would recommend the garlic roti. Not only going back for the food but the customer service is extremely good. Friendly. Kind. And happy to be back serving guests.

Best Thai I have eaten to date <3 A cute little space with fairy lights and extra warmth. Super homely! Sending love to Teeka before he finishes up this week.

This is an exceptional Thai restaurant. All the dishes are excellent, authentic and generous. Service is great, too. There are only a few tables so booking is essential.

Wow, wow and wow. I live in St kilda and I dine and eat out a lot. All my family and friends will tell you this because that’s what I love to do. I decided to take my friend here on Thursday night after our squash game at MSAC. It was kinda late for us to have dinner but our game was delay. Anyways, I have eaten at this restaurant a few times but haven’t being back since 2 years now. We were greeted by a guy name Teeka as we approached the front door. He was extremely friendly, accommodating, professional, his smile and bubbly personality was just so inviting and infectious. We decided to sit outside because it was a beautiful warm night. There were several cute little tables outside full of customers eating already. We sat down, he went inside to get a few things, served us water, gave us the menu, explain all the specials, ask us what we feel like eating, told us his recommendations and explain his reasons why, and then allowed us time to look over the menu while he gets our drink order. He really blew my mind. He was very impressive. He was extremely passionate and on point. One word for Teeka, FANTASTIC!!!! Teeka’s customer service was bloody amazing. I watch him greet every single customer that came in. He did the exact same customer service he gave us, to the next customer, the following customer after that and continue to maintain this right to the end when we left. He is naturally gifted and his professionalism and the ability to make us feel at home and enjoy ourselves, deserves to be recognised. Truely an amazing night. I was just amazed, how hard he worked, multi task and not even loose his cool. The place is cute, small, romantic and it was quite full too. Love love love Teeka and I can’t speak highly of him. If I had a restaurant I will poach and offer him a job straight away on the spot. I sat there and observe everything and watched him work. i saw how passionate, professional and just down to earth kinda person he was. Witnessing this unfold in front of me, I was so excited to get the food. The food arrived and OMFG!!!! Guys, the food was so tasty, delicious, and full of flavour. We Absolutely enjoy every mouthful. It was Devine, fresh, and just so good. We Highly recommend the food here. I will be so proud to bring more family, friends and even work colleges to this restaurant because I know the food and service will be on point and excellent. I actually went back With my partner on Easter Friday (which was tonight) and I can’t fault this place at all. We had the best experience for a romantic date night and we will be there regular customers . Little Buddha has now become one of my favourite restaurant in our local area. It’s definitely one of my top places on my list. I would highly recommend them. People go down and check it for yourselves. Amazing food and extraordinary service. If your there ask for Teeka!! Keep up the fantastic work guys and all the best

Fresh, delicious Thai food in a beautiful restaurant. Very impressed and a small but nicely paired wine list to top it all off. Yum!

Great food! Great service!

The Massaman beef curry was out of this world amazing. So much flavour and not heavy at all. Also had satay roti, pad Thai, rockling and an amazing Thai Basil duck stir fry. Everything was great and will be back to try the whole snapper which they were sold out of.

My partner had a portion of basil fried rice yesterday which was good. Portion and taste wise was authentic and very fragrant. The rest we ordered take away, which we ate just now for breakfast, all were fabulous, Stir fry were good portion and tasty, green curry anf massaman curry were thick and creamy, all not too sweet as most thai food out there and taste wise all very authentic.
Service was excellent, even though our waitress couldn’t speak fluent english but she tried her best to serve us, she is friendly and attentive too.
The owner was very friendly and sweet, she gave us christmas gift which is a thai style side dishes plate, very pretty.
Overall very happy with our experience and definitely will be back and recommend this place to our friends & family.

Came here a few weeks ago with Ma gal pal. I had the Duck Pad See Ew, she had the Tom Kah & we shared some prawn spring rolls to start.

All of the dishes were fantastic, the flavours as good Thai food should be were really eclectic, a rbeautiful combination of spicy, sour & sweet. Both dishes were really well seasoned & really generous portion sizes too.

Ever you're thinking about grabbing some authentic Thai, look no further.

Really disappointing Thai food. Have eaten here before and thought it was pretty good. But the green curry is watery and flavourless as are all the curries I tried. The stir fry lacks any depth of flavour. Probably the worst Thai food I've had in the area. Best thing I can say is it's edible.

Love this local Thai place - comes here quite regularly and is consistently delicious! The tom yum soup, pad Thai and green curry are lovely.

A great little neighbourhood restaurant, with warmhearted service and great fish! One of the few restaurants I really miss now we live over the other side of town.

Divine, Divine, Divine!!!! 🏅

The moment you walk in the beautiful aromas engulf your senses and the world is a better place all of a sudden. The atmosphere is just as inviting.

The satay Prawns with vegetables and cashews were sensational with "oohs & aahs" a common repertoire throughout our dining experience.

I recommend asking about the upstairs dining area as it was inappropriate having so many customers walking past and lingering around your table whilst you are dining downstairs.

I have eaten at Little Buddha on and off since opening. Like all new places they had their teething problems but the food has always been excellent. Service dropped off a little bit but recently has picked up 100% with excellent attentive staff.

The food is really good and you can taste the freshness in everything that you eat. You have a choice of seating being outside, indoors and upstairs, so if you see the place is full always ask about upstairs! Overall I can't recommend this place more highly at the moment, with excellent food and service makes a lovely night out!

Wow the food here is delicious. Finally there is a good Thai place to eat in the area. I will definitely be going back. Highly recommend this place!

Nice Food. Nice but not great! Honest little place with plenty of potential if a little more attention to service was paid.
I have eaten here a few times and although the food is ok the serve can sometimes lack. Even when not busy , service staff are often preoccupied on other tasks and not attentive to diners. Empty plates not cleared and no follow up regarding more food orders.
Would return but if service slips, would probably give a miss.

Great Thai food with excellent service!. In sunny middle park you will find the fantastic Little Buddha. It has a traditional menu but the meals are fresh and bursting with flavour! This combined with an owner and staff who take excellent care of you is a real reason to visit!

Disappointed Diner. Again I find myself searching for amazing Asian food. This time around we decided to give Little Buddha a try. The only word to describe the experience was disappointing! The staff were lovely and friendly, but the food left us wanting to walk out. We were offered a complimentary meal in the end but the whole experience was not great. We will certainly give this Little Buddha a miss next time and head back over to The Roti Man across the road, where you can't go wrong!

The staff here are sweetness and light!. Great new place in Middle Park. Cute decor. Noticed it when power walking. Opens 5.30 each night. Luckily my friend was available Friday night as short notice. BYO (wine only) makes for more choice at the bottle shop and a more reasonable night out. You can pop into the deli over the road to get a great, cheap bottle.
Tasty food, reasonable sized serves, but I'd go back for the lovely staff. Our waiter had only been in Australia for a month and retained that Thai sweetness.
A great addition to the list of restaurants within walking distance. Make a reservation is you want a table on a Friday or Saturday night.
Best of luck guys.
Constance :-)
Quarter Of A Pounder
Cute little place. We were on a search for some Thai in the area,
was thinking about going to the Roti man, but decided we wanted Thai.. and happen to see this place was quiet packed even though it was a weekday.

went in and browsed the takeaway menu and ordered the spicy noodle and Thick noodle.
The flavor was not very strong as you expect from other Thai restaurants but it did seem like they used no MSG!
which meant I was not left drinking gallons of water afterwards.

So I decided this place is a good find
will be back here to try the other dishes
