Food and service was great working local this place is very popular locally. May not look like much outside or the decor inside being very dated that’s not to worry about the food it top notch. Shallot pancake hot and sour soup spring rolls amazing
We love going to Little Canton for a quick Sunday lunch. Food is delicious and turnover is high so it’s always fresh. I love their dumplings, they are so tasty. I didn’t really like the beef satay but it didn’t matter because we were so full from all of our selections. It can get busy so if you’re in a big group then book ahead. Easy parking and loads of seating available. Try them out for traditional Asian not in Chinatown, you will enjoy.
Place would go the Chinese places in the city a run. Had spring rolls as a entree and they were amazing , for mains got a few odd dishes from the specials board very different but tasty . Will definitely coming back with friends to try the banquet or yum cha
pretty good! my boyfriend and I went last night for dinner as we were looking something cheap and delicious. It wasn’t quite as cheap as we thought and some items were priced higher than the menu displayed on zomato, but was still quite decent. a few good vegetarian options; I ordered the vegetarian dumplings for entree and the chili and garlic green beans for main. the beans were delicious and was quite a large serve, however I wasn’t a fan of the dumplings - I just didn’t like the taste/seasoning of the filling. my boyfriend ordered the pork buns and the szechuan chicken and really enjoyed both. the service was really great and we appreciated the complimentary prawn crackers and water.
Good yum cha ... I think probably the best in Adelaide... Only two issues that stops it from getting a 5/5... When it's crowded, the staff can get rude ... So service needs to be improved. Also I was told the restaurant had bad ventilation during summer and u can sometimes see flies in the restaurant in summer. So yea.. no 5/5 this time
Ok, so this place looks very minimal. But if your looking for a good yumcha place, that's not in the city then this is the place. Yum Cha and dinner is pretty tasty, more of a home style feel. Yum Cha cart comes out fast too. Man,how I love the wok fry noodles from here, you know they do good noodles when you can taste the char flavour from the wok.
Only been twice for Yum Cha so rating is for that only.
All the dishes we tried were lovely. I didn't really like any of the prawn dishes as the prawns tasted funny to me. However, my husband didn't notice it. Quick service.
We really liked their egg tarts, not too much pastry and the pastry was crispy.
Additional 3rd June 2018
After a mediocre experience elsewhere in Gouger Street I am willing to say this is about the best Yum Cha in Adelaide. Generous, varied and delicious. Go on a Sunday with the family.

We've been here twice now, one for dinner, once for yum cha.
Both were excellent with good food, friendly service, generous serves and good prices.
Tucked away behind Subway out the back of the shopping centre, it might not look much from the outside, but inside it packs a punch.
Don't hesitate for a moment.
I am forever on the hunt for good dim sum or yum cha in Adelaide. It’s actually really hard to find and before you judge me, I have some really awesome ones back home, some possibly even better than Hong Kong despite not being famous. So I suppose I have been spoilt for taste. In the past year I found Little Canton quietly tucked away on Henley Beach Road. Unsuspectingly low key with its own car park. Yes, car park, I’m talking to you CBD. Yet come 11am the crowd just suddenly appears and the tables fill up faster than you can pick your first dish off the trolley.
Decor is nothing special, but there yum cha is ! there are many places to get yum cha around Adelaide, but you are often met by moody grumpy staff, and bowls will dish water settled at the bottom.
Little canton is a great place with friendly staff and fresh yum cha classics (sticky rice with correct fillings, bean curd rolls, dumping galore) , HIGHLY recommended.
Its outside the city so parking is even easier.
Definitely worth checking out!
Despite working really close to here, I've only very recently visited for the first time. It's really stupid, but I was put off by the use of comic sans on their outdoor signage. Stupid and snobby indeed! Naive typography aside, the yum cha here is superb. Service is efficient and the restaurant itself, spacious and clean. Definitely gives the stalwarts in the city a run for their money. Can't wait to go back!
A good, little local suburban Chinese restaurant with an extensive menu. While the décor could use an update the restaurant maintains a good atmosphere through its popularity and busy vibe. Not the best - but certainty my favourite local!
Finally got my yumcha fix! Way better than oriental tea house in Melbourne!!!! And cheaper! Staffs are attentive ... Though chicken feet ain't that good (hutong is better) ,steamed yumcha are good and ohhhh BBQ pork pastry! I had like 6 lol 😋 .. Egg tarts are yummy too but can be more cooked on the top (burnt look) 🌟🌟🌟🌟👍🏻
Quick, tasty, friendly staff & reasonable prices. When most of the customers are Asians, you know you're onto a good thing.
Can get VERY busy on holidays, so make a booking and enquire if they have different sitting times.
Cantonese Cuisine at its best
Authentic Cantonese cuisine in a league of their own. The Japanese tofu/seafood/xo sauce chef special is exquisite and not to be missed.
Good food. The dimsum is great, for Adelaide standards. For our dinners we always order the crispy chicken with ginger and shallots, and the Japanese tofu seafood dish together with combo of other dishes. These 2 are always the best. Food quality and tastes are very consistent. Service is great except for one waitress who rarely smiles and is always pulling a long face. Would recommend this place anytime.
There are some places I’m truly grateful for – like Payneham Chinese Restaurant which is only 1km from my house. I love their food and it’s my regular takeaway spot. So good, and so close to my home. It was simpy meant to be. Another such place is Little Canton in Torrensville. It’s close to where I work, it’s easy to park, there’s no need to book and it serves excellent Chinese food. I’m there a LOT! Formerly Golden Crown, Little Canton is owned by the same people that have Kiem Bo at Golden Grove. Their dim sum is some of the best in Adelaide, having a dim sum specialist chef from Guangzhou. Maybe this is why I have such an affinity with this food – it’s where my family on my mother’s side hails from originally. There’s another chef from Guangzhou and one from Hong Kong who look after the a la carte food.
Awesome service, quick and friendly. Beautiful fresh food, Shallot pancakes and spring rolls, Crispy Beef and Chicken with ginger and shallots fell off the bone. Definitely will return. Fried rice was beautiful too.
Have had the yum cha and dinner here. Yum cha is pretty good. Fresh produce. Highly recommend the golden sands bun and har gao. The dinner here is excellent as well. The seafood in lotus leaf and crispy beef is the best
Best yum cha in Adelaide. Definitely will come back again. Prawn and chive dumpling, Golden sands bao, Squid tentacles and Egg tart recommended! I've tried Ding Hao and Star House but this still the best!

Good and affordable. I went to the Glenelg branch twice, the service was really good, the food was decent. I had the mongolian beef, beef was soft and juicy but a bit too sweet for me, the spring rolls were excellent ! It was stuffed full of prawns. The salt and pepper squid were tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Fried rice was standard. I will go back again to try the yum cha.
Michael black. Went to the Glenelg marina little canton good authentic food well balanced wine list great service ticks all the boxes
Delicious!!!. Their Japanese tofu baked in lotus leaves is to die for! Excellent steamed scallops with ginger. Yum cha is great too! Will return!
New go to place. Comfort Chinese food at it's best. Try the Japanese tofu dish. My newest go to Chinese.
Wonderful local Chinese Resturant specialising in live seafood. Based on the Dim Sum and Dumplings I tried for entree - a visit here for Yum Cha is also on the to do list.
Special mention to the Crispy Skin Chicken with Ginger am& Shallot.
Service average, but dishes did come in the right order so let's not be fussy!
Some of the best Chinese I've had. This place is not only great for food but also offers exceptional, friendly service and provides a nice relaxed atmosphere. As for food however, which is perhaps the most important element to a dining experience, this place is absolutely top notch. The szechuan beef and the pork with black bean are great, as is the szechuan chicken and the pork with plum sauce. Highly recommended!
Great Yum Cha. Had a really nice yum cha lunch today. We ordered King Prawn Dumplings, Spinach Dumplings, Prawn and Chive Dumplings, Fresh Meat Roll and Lotus Sticky Rice. Everything was fresh and the portions were generous, with lots of prawn in the dumplings and meat in the sticky rice. Staff were very polite and attentive. I'll definitely be going back!

The restaurant was formerly known as the Golden Crown Restaurant. With the change of name there was a change of owners. It has transformed into a lovely Chinese Restaurant. They serve Yum Cha daily and the food they serve is of high quality.
Nice Chinese Restaurant outside of the city, easy to find and there is plenty of parking. has all the regular dishes, prices are about $20 per main. Decent sized servings and food arrived quite quickly. Tasty. Also does Yum Cha during the day.
Lunch is quick to serve with yum dim sims However, for super, the spicy sour soup is not recommended - too sour and spicy with small size. The entry fried squid is not fresh as it’s a bit soft. 麻婆豆腐 spicy Sichuan tofu is fine.
Hands down - the best yum cha in Adelaide! If you want a refreshing change from the mediocre options on Gouger street - this is the place to go. We arrived when the restaurant opened without a booking and the staff were able to find us a table; however, within 30 minutes - the place was absolutely packed - make a booking! Friendly service and delicious, fresh yum cha
Good taste.
Very crowded at noon so you have to book in advance
Best Canton food in Adelaide. Accommodating prices with delicious food. The visual is a pleasure too. If any sort of comment is that the people here. Since this is a popular places, if u didn’t book in advance, it generally will take u a while to get a seat.
