Came here with a few friends a few nights ago and left with the biggest food baby - definitely try their set menu, because you will come away feeling so full and is definitely worth the money. Will be back soon!!
have been coming here for a while, but never thought to review - me and my partner love coming here, and have the best vegan curries ever and probably the best vegan samosas in australia - definitely check them out if you're in the area
A lovely family business just a few minutes from Westfield Plenty Valley, have never been disappointed by them! Very clean, friendly staff and yummy food. Looking forward to going again soon :)
Great local Indian! Perfect for take away or have-in, although it is very quite in the resataurant during the week so only go if you don't mind that. The staff are friendly and the food is delicious.
This has been one of the best Indian takeout meals I've had in a long time. Very rich, creamy and tasty! Highly recommended! Only thing I wasn't a fan of was the roti. It was very soggy, plain and rubbery. But the curry is amazing! Will be back!
This is an authentic Indian restaurant, it's almost like you're in India. Try their tikka, it's delish. The ambience is good and the crew are very approachable too.
I love this place especially their samosa, that's the best I had so far. It's a must that you also try all their Tikka. I haven't been to India but I think this is the most authentic Indian restaurant that you can visit.
Thumbs up for Ajantha. It was my first time visiting Melbourne and I came across this restaurant . Out of my curiosity, I've tried their dish and yes, it's surely superb. The service is great too. Very satisfying.
Honestly think they have great food, probably the best indian food around, and cater to literally all dietary requirements. I'm vegan, and they can make all their vegetarian curries vegan, so the variety is INSANE! The waitresses are extremely friendly, I personally think their service is great, don't really get what all these reviews here are complaining about.
Long time favorite restaurant. Ajantha is a always a hit, top quality meal and friendly service. We had the Lamb Madras, Palak Paneer and Vegetable Biriyani and Roti and they were clean, fresh and delicious. The service was warm and homely... I will be coming back
Our favourite Indian restaurant! Food is always fresh, tastes delicious & very filling. Kids love the Butter Chicken!!! Staff are friendly and restaurant is cosy. Have given up trying other Indian restaurants because the food is never as nice.
Ajantha is by far the best Indian food I have ever experienced, I like to think I'm a bit of a foodie and always try new restaurants but I'd never stray from Ajantha! I never walk away disappointed, the food is incredible and the staff there are always so lovely and always remember mine and my families name (which is a telling sign of how often we visit this restaurant). Every time I go here I like to order something new, the lamb korma is seriously delicious but I always crave the butter chicken and the portion sizes are really big so it's great value for money. Excellent local restaurant, would highly recommend!
very nice food was worth the money large meal, we had to take some food back home, very filling excellent music. they have to put cutlery on all tables, ours had none but then they gave us some
The food here is ALWAYS great! The staff are lovely, friendly without being in-your-face. We’ve been eating at Ajantha for years and will keep coming back
The butter chicken is really nice here and it seemed to be a favourite all around the restaurant. The staff are friendly and attentive however there can be a little bit of a wait. The servings were enough but a little on the smaller side. Would go back again 😊
Recommended to us by a friend. Was quite happy. Service was ok. The butter chicken was deffinetly the best ive had in a long time. The samosas where delicious! Would recommend this place to others
Wonderful curries however the service is quite slow, have been here on multiple occasions and have always had a slow service; the food makes up for it however I highly recommend takeaway if you are in a rush or don't have at least an hour to wait.
AMAZING! Best Indian I have ever had. They make everything so fresh and accomodate my boyfriends nut allergies every time. Highly recommend
Been coming to this place for years , and by far one of the better Indian places ive been to. It's clean and the staff are always friendly , and has a nice atmosphere. The food always hits the spot leaving me satisfied , with great flavours and soo delicious can't fault the quality . Pricing or deals could be better but otherwise very enjoyable eating in or out . An honest rewiew.
Had their Butter Chicken, Dhall Tadka and Garlic Naan for takeaway. The Butter Chicken was rich, creamy, with a generous portion of meat and not too salty. Moreover, the Dhall Tadka was great as it was rich and flavourful. Last but not least, the Garlic Naan decent as it was nicely charred and aromatic.
Great food, great service, and a convenient location for locals at decent prices. Highly recommend. Really great options for vegetarians as well.

This was my first visit and I was greatly surprised. The food was the best Indian I had tasted in a while, and the service was good. Definitely recommend and I'll be there soon. They also do the BEST vegan food ever!!!
one of our favorite indian restaurants in melbourne
everything we have tried has amazing flavours. the lamb korma, chicken tikka kadai, eggplant masala and cauliflower with cashew cream sauce are all favorites! Nice atmosphere.
Servings and prices are very reasonable.
We've dined here and had take away many many times over the years and it never disappoints. Always polite and friendly. Food is always delicious with a typical range of Indian favourites.
Wow! Everything we ordered was delicious! Butter chicken was so tender and melted in your mouth and the coconut rice was the best I've had. Very authentic and cosy, perfect for a rainy winters night.
We always eat here, and have bought so many friends including first timers who have decided they love Indian food. Authentic and never fails. I've probably tried everything on the menu and could probably even turn vegetarian with the vegan/vegetarian dishes on offer.
Lovely. I have really enjoyed several visits to Ajantha and also often order takeaway. Meals are very flavourome and tasty, and to date cannot say I have even been slightly dissapointed! Great meal for a reasonable price with friendly attentive staff.
Thumbs up!. Ordered take-away last weekend. Food was fresh, hot out of the oven, and flavoursome.
Very nice Indian, been several times and is the best Indian restaurant in the area
Not a wrong foot in over 4 years!. We moved from Mill Park, to Greensborough, to Eltham, to further out and Ajantha is now 25 minutes away, but we always go back and pick food up at least once a fortnight. The food is faultless, extremely authentic and always tastes fresh.
Have never had to wait to pick food up, but I understand dine-in may be a bit of a wait, esp, because it is so crowded during the week ends.
They could improve the serve-staff quality by a little bit of training.
Will definitely return. Delicious.
Best indian in the north. Love love love this place! have been eating here since moving to the area 3 years ago- have since moved out of the area but still drive 15mins to eat in or get takeaway.
the food is delicious- never had a bad meal. honestly dont enjoy indian food from other places after eating here for so long now. the garlic naan is yummy, the vegetable pakora are amazing, the mains are ALL tasty and excellent quality meat is used- one of my pet peeves with many asian/indian restaurants is using dark or stringy fatty meat- but at this place the meat is of top quality.
highly recomend Ajantha
Absolutely fabulous food. I've eaten here a lot, and have never had a bad experience, but be prepared for a wait if you visit on the weekend as it is very popular.
Best Indian in the area. Live in Bundoora and tried a few of the local indian joints. After being disappointed with the locals, i asked at the Indian grocery shop if there were any nice ones and they recommended Ajantha.
Since then we are more than willing to drive the 15min up the road once a fortnight.
A great menu, very nice owner, and the food has been flawless on every occasion.
Excellent Indian Dining. Ajantha is a small, yet cosy restaurant with great prices ($14-$17 for main meal w/out rice) and delicious QUALITY indian food. Cooked fresh, with breast chicken (we asked) and you can not walk past the Garlic Naan, made fresh in house. Also recommend the Mango Lasi yoghurt drink. Excellent service, very friendly staff, always welcoming :) Also do take-away, which we indulge in at least monthly. I have never had a better quality Indian meal since being to this restaurant.
Suburban secret. This little Ruby, gets it right every time!
Subtle, modern Indian music, attentive staff and glorious food and presentation!
Get there early most night because it fills up fast!!
I guess probably because I've eaten so much Indian food and been a frequent patron of Ajantha way up in my suburban parts, it never really occurred to me to review it. A bit silly, really, given I've lost count of how many times I've dined in here as well
They have the most delicious chilly chicken. Exactly how it should be. Many restaurants serve their own ridiculous version of chilli chicken loaded with actual chillies. Thanks aroma Indian. Totally loved it.
Every time I ordered food and asked for keeping it mild or no chilli, I was never disappointed. Aroma’s food is very tasty and they look after their customers very well. My family lives Aroma 👍👍🥰
I ordered through Menulog for the first time from this place, and everything tasted amazing. I always order the staple Butter Chicken when I get this cuisine, and this place cooked it perfectly. I could tell that they took care with cooking the food, as it really showed in the taste.
Just moved into the area for a house sit and found Aroma Indian Cuisine.
Ordered the Lamb Rogan Josh, Veg Noodles, garlic Naan with coconut rice & onion Bhaji. Online.
Best Indian food we've had in Melbourne.
The delivery time was far better than quoted and a $6:00 delivery fee is negligible and worth every cent.
Thank you to the Aroma Indian Cuisine team. We will definitely order again
