Authentic food with exceptional service. Enjoyed a good meal at a very reasonable price. Well done.
Excellent food & excellent service. Definitely will be back
Best food I have ever tasted
Highly recommend!!
My go to place for deep fried pork hock. It’s so bad for you but I just can’t help it !
If you are ever in the area it’s a must try
Always our go-to-place for delicious Asian food. Their lunch and dinner boxes are the best. Satay chicken and pork in black bean sauce are a winner! ❤️ Friendly staff make sure the food is always on time.
Only have had take away from here and always stick to our signature dishes. Special fried rice & calamari with chilli & pepper.. pricey but amazing flavours..
Fantastic Chinese/Malaysian restaurant in the area. Easy to get a table and the service is fast. Food is awesome. Only issue is they don't delivery. However, based on the amount of phone orders for pick up I can understand why. Highly recommended.
My family regularly come to this restaurant. We love it. It can be patchy service-wise if they're super busy or on a Sunday lunch when they are short-staffed, but they are really friendly and accommodating and work hard to give good quality and good valued Chinese/Malaysian dishes. The roti is to die for. Oily of course, but if you pair it which the Cantonese steak it's just simply amazing. The satay beef entree is my personal favourite. I always order it. It's a bit dry but still somehow moist. I know that sounds weird to write, but it's like the outside is crispy and the inside is perfect. Their satay sauce is my favourite in the northern suburbs. The combination noodles are great value. Sometimes we get the same dish but with crispy noodles a la chow mein. Both variations are awesome. The homemade dim sims are a good size. The fried wontons are really nice. The sesame prawn dishes are great. The waitresses are very friendly. The decor is both homely and spartan, but I like it myself. The parking can be tricky on a Friday or Saturday night, but really it's our favourite Chinese restaurant in the north - right up there with Golden Dragon in Lalor. :)
The Swine thinks Kawanka is a very good Malaysian food pit stop out North in the burbs. The food presinct here is surpringly decent hub if you are a local. The Swine loved the satay dishes at Kawanku. The Swine will be working through the menu. It's a big room so youd be unlucky to wait long. Not bad at all.
Best char hor fun ,KL hokkien noodles, and fish head soup noodles in mill park ! Honest and authentic. Owners are very friendly as well. Price is reasonable.
I go here quite regularly, their home made dim sims are really good, nice thin skin and the filling is delicious. The dish that makes me want to come back time and time again is the Seafood Laksa. Just wow, the broth is spicy and rich, they use quality ingredients and are very generousness with the serving size.
The ambiance of the place is a little clinical. If they changed their lighting to something a little warmer it would be a welcome improvement. Price? Excellent value for money!!
As for service, they are fantastic, always smiling, love to chat and always ensure you are satisfied, they are a very lovely group of people. Looking forward to my next visit :D
Really nice feed here. Have been a few times. The laksa is great!
The service could be improved. I always like to have staff care about what I think. This is an area for improvement.
But overall, the value for money is there. Would recommend this place to friends, or yourself!
Kawanku is a delightful local gem. Nothing particularly special in terms of location or ambience, but lovely polite service and tasty fresh food. BYO wine is welcome at $2pb. Expect to part with about $25-$30pp + drinks
Excellent food and very economical.
Went to this restaurant to try out their crispy calamari and other Malaysian Chinese dishes and I was not disappointed.
Kawanku is a small restaurant out in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne, set on a strip of restaurants. It is frequented by many customers looking for tasty food and value for their money.
The food at Kawanku is down right tasty and its owner cum chef is at hand to cook your meal and serve it as well.
I was impressed with the crispy calamari as it was prepared to perfection. The charges are very reasonable and the portions are large. I highly recommend this restaurant. Go try the food and be impressed.
I drive 20mins outta my way for the satay beef and fried rice. The lady who rins the show has been nothing but super lovely and welcoming for the last 15years! Dining in or out I say it deserves 5 star! But who am I to argue... I love your food so I will be back time and time again :)
We have been using Kawanku since 2001 when we lived in Lalor, they have always had great quality food and service. Thanks
