Review Bayly's - Milsons Point

Had dinner at Baylys after a Saturday performance. Meal was excellent. All the staff were outstanding , a special mention for Scarlett, very professional and engaged. A wonderful experience, thank you!

Food was very good however we felt rushed. We booked 6.30 for an 8.15 show to allow plenty of time for a leisurely dinner. They requested our order 5 minutes after we were seated, the main meal arrived within 15 minutes without the side vegetables which we had to request. The waitress then tried to clear the table while people were still eating. I requested that she come back later when we had all finished. Immediately after clearing the table she gave us the dessert menu. I told her that we felt rushed and we would order soon. She gave us about 15 minutes then came to the table with an armful of dirty plates from another table and took our order for dessert and coffee. It was all over by 7.30 so then we waited until 8.05 to go into the theatre. I feel the staff know everyone will have left the restaurant by 8.15 and they planned to do the same. I won’t be eating there again.

A local and frequent visitor to The Ensemble Theatre, we have always dined ‘next door’ pre show after hearing poor reports about Bayly’s from friends. Last night proved those reports very wrong! It is a cosy carpeted space so noise was minimal, the wait staff could not be faulted and our meals were delicious. Will certainly be back.

It's amazing how much a first impression counts. I just called to ask about availability for function hire, and was really put off by Gloria's phone manner. Don't think I'll call back again - even though the venue itself seems perfect for what I'm after.

A local treasure. The Ensemble does wonders on its small stage . An intimate theatre with panoramic views from its bar and bistro.

The food is great here!
