The best Italian Restaurant my wife and i have ever eaten at. The atmosphere created by Stef and his employees is amazing and a true credit to them. Amazing food wine and coffee if you havent been you must you will not be disappointed. Well worth the drive from Wollongong.
Great pizza and wine to match. Thanks Stefano. Lovely atmosphere too with decor stylish and relaxed. that the dough is proved for 48hrs making it light crispy and delicious. Best part though it’s digestible for those with gluten intolerance as the gluten in the flour is broken down using this traditional method. First time my daughter has been able to eat real pizza since her diagnosis. Yah!!!
Beautiful bruschetta, perfect pasta and the most delicious pizza I have ever eaten, along with icy cold craft beer that perfectly complimented this heavenly meal. Add to this, exceptional service and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and you have the most outstanding Italian eatery in Australia!
Bellissimo!
So lucky to stumble upon this amazing woodfire pizza restaurant! Everything we ordered (Traditonal Bruschetta, the special pizza of the night with homemade sausage, the panna cotta, and piccolo to finish ) was delicious and clearly made with a lot of passion.
Its a shame that we are heading back north, otherwise we would definitely be back for a second night or even just for the coffee which was also on point! And 10/10 service....couldnt get any better.
Cheers to the Coffee Guild Crew!
The food is top quality and the service is outstanding. THE place to go for dinner in Milton. Thanks Stef, Benny and the chefs for a great night out.
Enjoyed a lovely breakfast today, we had perfectly cooked poached eggs with a generous serve of smoked salmon & hollandaise on crispy sourdough & a super egg & bacon roll- yum.! Coffee was excellent, in spotlessly clean, friendly surroundings, can't go past this great coffee shop
Authentic Italian food that tastes absolutely amazing! Everything is made from scratch and the ingredients are fresh! We love eating at the Guild and are never disappointed by the quality of the food, the atmosphere or the service. Also an amazing choice of beautiful wines.
Amazing service and terrific food will be returning and raving about it was terrific!! So much passion into the food and customers from the owner!
A friend of ours recommended Coffee Guild - its authentic Italian food. Stef and his team were warm welcoming and the pizzas were on point! The 'secret weapon' Wood fired Oysters with truffle were deelishussss!! We got there early at 530 with the family and eased into the meal with our byo wine and the chilled beats a la DJ Stef. Thanks for a great night.
We had the best night out with live music, the most beautiful staff looking after us & the most delicious food!
Fabulous meal! We wish the best for these guys and their efforts. 6 of us all thought this was the best pasta we have had ever! Great atmosphere and service! Will be back when in town again. Great work!
The one and only! There has been some pure Italian food crafted in the South Coast and that's thanks to Stef and the boys at the Guild.
Unique experience.
Absolutely love this place! Great service, amazing food! The pizzas are so delicious and they have the freshest Oysters from the Clyde River. The dessert calzone is so good if you have room.
Amazing food and service, by far the best pizza I've had outside of Italy and definitely the best on the south coast!!
Had garlic and herb prawns to start with, disappointing, not because of flavour or presentation but when I see garlic prawns with olive oil, I expect a cast iron dish with prawns swimming in all of those ingredients, not something dry, bit hard to dunk your bread into that.
We then ordered pizza with mozarella side salad, all pizzas should look and taste like this, wow.
Awesome food, the pizzas were exceptional & the staff were on point 👍
I have been to Italy and have worked in many "authentic" Italian restaurants which had previously set my standard for what defines the perfect pizza. The bar has just been raised to an incomparable level. If you think you are a pizza aficionado, I dare you to challenge your perceptions of pizza perfection and visit The Coffee Guild and Woodfired Pizzeria for an exceptional and memorable dining experience.
Milton wasn’t the place I expected to have a faultless Italian dinner, but that is exactly what The guild. delivered. Five years after my last visit, with a new chef at the helm, this restaurant has really found its groove. From the compact menu, wood-fired rock oysters ($28/6) arrive warmed (not cooked) tasting of both land and sea with a black truffle balsamic and Italian pancetta combo that improves upon Kirkpatrick. Bubbling lime foam adorned with a squid ink coral crisp hides a barely cooked scallop ($5/each) in a parsley and soy reduction. The combo. allows you to really taste the translucent bivalve gently warmed through by the wood-fire grill.
The friendly floor team upsold us a bread basket ($8) that turned out to be the best decision ever. Organic flour made the three-stroead selection sing against country butter. It was also perfect for mopping up seafood the whacky kohlrabi ravioli ($23). Using creamy raw prawns, passionfruit, lime and ginger laid over discs of kohlrabi with the bisque poured upon serving, this dish was both unique and intriguing.
Pizza—in our case the white-based ciccio bello ($26) with pancetta, salami, chilli, basil, black truffle and pockets of creamy mascarpone—here remains well-executed. However I was more besotted with the artful tangle of spaghetti “allo scoglio” ($34) where minced seafood and king prawn hunks joined freshly made egg spaghetti in a simple syrupy sauce that allowed the other ingredients to speak. Teamed with a well-priced selection from the wine list—the 2017 Jones Road Chardonnay ($59) from the Mornington Peninsula—this was a meal beyond the calibre I expected to find in Milton. Bravo!
Lovely place!. The food was amazing, best pizza I’ve ever had. The dough was so fresh and tasty, and the roasted vegetable side was stunning. The bread starter, the beef brisket, was all just delicious! Well done the Guild!!
The Guild’s menu states that ordering the food is the cheapest way to travel to Italy. In relation to the pizzas we ordered, that was certainly the case. We had not tasted pizzas this good for a considerable time. Light, thin, crusty with first rate ingredients and absolutely delicious, they are right up there with the best we have tasted on our travels through Italy. With our host Stefano taking the time to step us through the menu, his guiding philosophy to cuisine and his take on food, Milan’s loss was definitely Milton’s gain.

This wine bar and restaurant in Milton is great spot serving seasonal and authentic Italian food.
We visited on a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was fully booked, so we are glad we had booked ahead. Despite the full restaurant, service was efficient and meals came in a timeline manner.
The restaurant set up has a couple of bar tables out front, outdoor dining in the courtyard and indoors. The kitchen is in a separate space across the courtyard but the open kitchen style meant you could see the chefs in action busily working away and the huge woodfired oven for their pizzas.
Head chef Filippo Cozzani has curated a menu boasting interesting Northern Italian dishes that were rustic in their flavours and creation, yet modern and fine dining like in their presentation. They use Italian imported products and wines to provide an authentic
Experience.
Beginning with some outstanding wood fired scallops; with a soy and parsley emulsion, lime
foam and a black squid ink coral. The flavour combinations worked beautifully and the scallops were cooked to perfection.
The “Riso, patate e Cozze” was a potato rice dish that is a starchy / congee like consistency, flavoured with a good amount of lemon and zest with plump mussels sitting in the mix, presented with the squid ink corals and drizzled with a parsley chlorophyll dressing. It was an interesting dish that we haven’t seen before but it was definitely enjoyable.
The eggplant dish was a charred eggplant filled with roasted vegetables; such as potato, onion sitting on a red capsicum mayonnaise. The charring of the eggplant gave the dish a good smokiness too it and the medley of vegetables were nice and softly roasted. It would be good to have this come with a slice of bread to mop up the extra sauce.
We also had the “vegan maccheroni”, the pasta tossed in a zucchini and pesto sauce. A good vegan dish and for those not vegan, it comes with goats cheese, which probably steps this dish up another level.
There’s so many different dishes we would have happily ordered as well as a long list of woodfired pizzas. This does give us the incentive to return in the future.
They use certified organic flour and can also make pastas gluten free if needed.
On our visit we didn’t have the space for desserts; but if you so, there’s your traditional Italian options like tiramisu, pannacotta or Nutella calzones.
Drink wise, it is a bar so there’s an extensive wine list with plenty of Italian varieties and we like that the menu lists the best pairing for each food option. Plenty of beers and cocktails too that complements the dining experience.
Amazing pizzas!! Best pizza we have ever had and the wine list was amazing. The service was so warm and friendly and we were greated as soon as we arrived. Would definitely recommend eating here for dinner when you visit Milton!
We were sitted right by the bar which was excellent since we were able to speak to the bar staff and get hints on the food and drink. The main meals of lamb and duck were recommended by the bar staff and they were spot on. Highly recommend The Guild and if given the opportunity sit by the bar and chat to the staff for a wonderful evening of food and conversation
Amazing Italian pasta and beautiful wines. Service was excellent and stephano/Victoria where great. Lovely cosy atmosphere.
Highly recommend as the best Italian I have been to on south coast/Sydney and very reasonable prices. Will return soon. Lynsey & Simon :)
Great experience, we really appreciated the fact that the owner came out and spoke to us as soon as we walked in as well as a bit later on, we ordered a couple of pizzas and it came out really quickly and was absolutely delicious no faults what so ever, im hugely picky on my pizza dough and the thickness and this was just perfect base and topping ratio, just a really nice experience and ended up here by accident !! will definitely be returning here and recommending to friends and family... Thank you so much Stef and staff 😁
