Went here recently for breakfast with my sister. Firstly there is not much parking available around here as there is a lot of businesses around but you can park in a side street & walk, which is what we did. We went in & were greeted by a lovely lady. I chose the baked beans breaky hot pot whereas my sister got the Bircher supergrain muesli with a chai. Once we received our food is was presented really lovely. My sister liked her Bircher muesli & was happy that her chai was really hot. I really liked my baked beans as well. I was a bit nervous that it was small & wasn’t going to fill me up. But it had a lot of substance & probably was one of the best baked beans I have had.

We visited Sweet Lime Cafe in Mitcham over the weekend and were blown away by the sheer size of both the cafe itself and their menu. The cafe comfortably seats over 50 people and is nested at the bottom of an office complex off Mitcham Road. There are an eclectic collection of tables and chairs to chose from ranging from high benches, to booths and a table that looked like my dining room table at home. The current owners bought the business at the end of 2016 and since then have been working on their menu items and offering catering to the surrounding office buildings and families.
We chose one item from the breakfast menu and one from the lunch menu. The coffees tasted great, but lacked the latte art that a lot of popular Melbourne cafes pride themselves on. The prices are very decent and you get value for money with very generous serving sizes. They also have catering options available with a gorgeous range of handmade sandwiches and salads.
The smashed avocado with goats cheese & poached eggs ($16.90) was a very generous serving and came topped with cherry tomatoes and rocket. Each ingredient was plentiful and the flavour combination was delicious.
The Club Sandwich ($16.90) was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. You could taste a bit of everything (chicken, bacon, tomato, egg, lettuce & mayo) with each bite and it came served with deliciously chunky fries and tomato sauce.
Sweet Lime are new to the online game and are looking to expand their community to those outside of the local Mitcham crew by growing their Instagram presence. Make sure to give them a visit before everyone else realises how tasty their food is!
I definetly recommend this place! I have been here for breakfast and lunch several times and I never leave disappointed. Fabulous coffee, and yummy generous servings of lovely food. Make sure you try the Breakfast Bruschetta!
Beautiful food, fresh produce and welcoming ambiance. George and Katy have poured their heart in this venture and it is paying off. A wonderful family run and owned cafe.
Always feel really welcome here. The coffee and food not only taste AMAZING but are also very reasonable with pricing. A huge variety of food too. Love that there is room for my two little kids, high chairs, books to read and even a baby change table. 5 stars!
Amazing food, good value for money and the staff are always so friendly! I got the French toast this morning for breakfast and it was absolutely delicious! Will definitely be bringing all of my friends!
This café resides in an industrial park, in a modern building with a roof-high smoky glass façade. Inside is a spacious dining area, featuring a polished concrete floor, a black and white colour scheme, and along the only unglazed wall, decorative planter boxes and framed pictures. The tables were timber, with either lime green or white metal chairs, and some larger communal tables with were matched with wooden chairs. It was not overly busy on my visit, and the ambience was reasonably pleasant, apart from the commercial radio station. The menu was fairly standard, but with some vegetarian breakfast items such as the “veggie delight” breakfast, the smashed avo, the breakfast bruschetta, and the middle eastern Tarwika . There appeared to be fewer veg friendly items on the lunch menu, but I could see some options in their glass cabinet. I had the veggie delight breakfast, sans eggs, which was very nice, and attractively presented. The coffee was also good. I experienced friendly and efficient service, however, my usual grumble; it was “order and pay at the counter”. I will re-visit , though.
Just had my second lunch at this cafe. Recently under new management and love everything about it. The food is all home made and the menu very extensive. The serves are generous and the staff friendly. Will be back many times to try the variety
Had lunch here today with a friend, excellent food, great service. Their juices were delicious and cold. I hope they stick with weekends - I'll be back for sure.
UPDATE: I went back and tried the Middle Eastern breaky for something a little bit different. It was absolutely beautiful. I'd 100% recommend it! The homemade beetroot relish and baba ghanoush were so delicious, I couldn't fault my meal except my eggs were a bit over poached again. LOVE LOVE this cafe.
I visited Sweet Lime on a seedy Sunday morning to try out their new menu and was not disappointed. I ordered the Veggie Breakfast. My poached eggs were a bit over-cooked but everything else on the plate was PERFECT. The veggies were seasoned perfectly and were full of flavour, nothing I tasted was even close to being bland or boring...you can tell the food is made with love here. The staff were GREAT, genuine and friendly. Everything on the menu seemed quite well priced and the menu is SO extensive, there's definitely something for everyone. I can't wait to return and try the rest of it!
Oh I loved this place. Decor is good, service is good and food is good as well. What more can you expect. Been here a couple of times for lunch and its mostly filled with people but you can your part of attention.
I've been coming to Sweet Lime for a couple of years now. I would there on average 2-3 times a week. The staff are great and always up for a chat. The coffee is great, but best of all their lunchtime food is absolutely delicious and better than your average cafe/sandwich shop. The hot food is yum with the menu changing daily. Their home made pies are the best I've ever had and the beef brisket on Fridays is amazing! Not only that but the price is very reasonable. Will keep going back :)
A wonderful gem in the industrial area in mitcham. Consistently good coffee, friendly and service that remembers you. I felt like a regular and a welcomed guest on my first visit. Food in the display cabinet and the Bain Marie delights are very tasty and they even make bread rolls on site. If your in the area, it is worth a drop in or take away.
Was after a quick brekky before work and I was really satisfied with Sweet Lime. Great coffee, and really speedy service I highly recommend this cafe!!!
I really enjoyed morning brekky here. Tucked on the edge of an industrial area I was not sure what to expect but walked away quite sated. Excellent service, superb coffee and a really solid, tasty meal. Thanks Sweet Lime.
Daily morning coffees a must and are made just the way I love it - thanx guy in the hat..
Roast Pork Belly and Veges lunch on Friday was awesome....
We had breakfast on 9/8/17 and the new owners ( been there 7 months) really know what they are doing.
We had the 'Middle Eastern' breakfast - brilliant in taste and value! Freshly prepared combination juices made a good start to our breakfast.
Coffees were very hot and service excellent.
Now open everyday, this is one of the best breakfasts we have had in a long time.
This place deserves to be packed out on the weekend.
Looking forward to sampling their lunch menu. Fully licensed.
Great mix of food from homemade sausage rolls, daily specials and a good choice of focaccias!
Genuinely friendly staff make lunch times that much more enjoyable!
Must try their chicken salad!
Best place by far in mitcham for the whole package; coffee, food and friendly service. They have hot lunch meals that change daily which are sooo yum! Can't decide which is my fav - the beef brisket or roast pork (with crackle!) You need to check it out!
The food was very delicious and presented really beautifully. Not your average same old Cafe but some yummy options that are a bit different.
We had the Chicken Club Sandwich which was very tasty, and not dry like they can be at other places. The Mango Madness smoothie was flavoursome and thick and the Lebanese brekky (forgot its menu name) was a really cool twist to poached eggs and fried halloumi.
Fantastic, family run business! Staff are so so so friendly and have a wonderful relationship with their customers- I was in this morning, and they knew every person that came in by name!
Food is delicious, fab variety and great portion sizes! Coffee is super tasty and always nice and hot!
Really enjoy going in to grab a morning coffee or lunch- definitely a great local business to throw your support behind!
Every dish from the menu looked so tempting that I already have a list of what I'm going to try next. Loved the juices menu too. They make the best hot chocolate in Melbourne. The ambience is very calm, and friendly. The customer service is top notch, love Katie and George.
Great space with high ceilings and big windows. Lots of light, good space between tables and a good menu.
Service was great and prices are very reasonable. Food also very good and very nicely presented. Would recommend for anyone looking for a really good breakfast or lunch.
Very pleasant cafe to sit in. Big windows with lots of natural light. Very spacious. Lovely selection of lunch foods and sweet treats!
Really nice place, we had a great breakfast. As other reviews have noted, pricing is very reasonable with decent portion sizes. Coffee is amazing, lovely space too with high ceilings and outdoor seating.
Nice Saturday breakfast place. Very spacious for large group. Great choices of breakfast.
Friendly and helpful staff who made me feel welcomed. The food was tasty and filling. Prices were reasonable. Great atmosphere too. It was my first visit and I intend to visit again.
