Review Khusboo Indian Resturant - Mitcham

We have been dining at Khusboo for years now and it never fails to satisfy. While everything on the menu is delicious, their butter chicken is absolutely amazing, I think I could straight up drink a glass of that sauce instead of my usual mango lassi. Many Indian restaurants have a problem where all the food tastes the same, but not Khusboo - every dish has it's own distinct flavour and there are plenty of options too. The staff are lovely, down-to-earth people and it almost feels like you've been invited around for a nice home-cooked meal by a friend. You're not going to get better Indian food anywhere else.

We ordered just samosas to try out this restaurant. While decent in taste. Extremely small portion size and to my absolute shock I was charged for chutneys. I am sure you don’t do the same for your dinners then why different for takeaway ?? On top of that the mint chutney was sour n clearly had green food colour. We couldn’t eat it. Don’t think any Indian restaurant around the world ( n that is no exaggeration) would not give complimentary chutney of any kind with Samosas. I did give my feedback and it was well received. So an extra star just for that.

Unreal food at this Indian restaurant, we have been going here for years and the food is always amazing and the people are so friendly and always going the extra mile to help. Do yourself a favor and book in to eat here, you won't be dissapointed. Highly recommend the chicken Tikka when dining in, it comes out on a sizzle plate and its unbelievable.

Delicious! Absolutely delicious. Really flavourful food with awesome service, at a very reasonable price. We will definitely be back.

This is a family owned place with a really good ambience and table setting. There's the nicest mom and son duo at the front with whom you could engage in a nice little conversation. The service was top notch! We got the tandoori sizzler, aloo palak, garlic and aloo naan to go with that. The tandoori sizzler is a good plate of good meat rubbed in a flavorful tandoori marinate. The aloo palak and the garlic naan were the highlights with some really vibrant flavors going through. Very reasonable pricing and I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Great Indian food, always love eating here. 9/10 times they perfect every dish. Wait time can be longer than why they say however.

Really good restaurant. Fantastic and welcoming service. Small family owned place. Food was great. Tasty and hot. The only negative was the sizes-other Indian restaurants I've experienced had about double serving size, but the price is reasonable. $14.50 for a main chicken dish. The large rice is enough for 2 adults. Amazing Garlic Naan. Got two medium level curry's, a bit spicy.

Its pretty cozy and very decent priced for take away. Generous on portions too. Its little hard to find at night but its good. Believe its a family business. Its vibe is cute n cozy with the lady n son too. N so many awards. Keep up the vibe!

We’ve been coming here for over ten years. Great family restaurant and delicious food. Must try the bara masala (lamb). We never get sick of it.

The dining environment and layout is one of the key selling points of this restaurant with spacious tables and well decorated walls. The food is fairly portioned and at a very reasonable price!

Friendly reliable restaurant that always provides very tasty meals made from good quality meats. If you're after takeaway it's worth ringing ahead as it always takes at least forty minutes to make the meals because they go to such lengths to make all their meals good. Definitely the best indian restaurant in the area.

By far the best Indian in the area. Service is always lovely and meals are always piping hot when presented. Had takeaway on Sunday night and was told it was a 45 minute wait which was fine, we expected that. Arrived and food was ready to go, great flavours and nice and spicy as we had requested!

Ok ok experience!! Normal Indian cuisine and experience....if you stay near by then can grab some food from here ! Starters are perfectly good and hot but main course experience was just normal...

Simple yet well maintained restaurant. Ambience is average. However the preparation is good. Tandoori chicken is truly different compared to most restaurants. Mutton curry was very tasty.Veg dishes averaged out. Naan and rotis were bit disappointing as seemed chewy or bit uncooked.

This place is awesome. I went in on New Years with a craving for a chicken tikka kebab (in Roti) and asked for one even though it wasnt on the menu and they made it for me. It was the best one Ive ever had. They are very generous, kind, flexible and great chefs.

An absolute delight! I've been a regular for the past 9 years that I've lived in Mitcham and have never been disappointed! Run by an adorable family, they provide the kind of old school genuine customer service that I rarely see elsewhere!
You can't really go wrong, since everything on the menu is delicious and can be prepared according to how spicy you want it which is a bonus for the kids!
An honest eatery, where they're even happy to let my kids have a tour of the kitchen!

Nice little Indian restaurant tucked away behind the buildings near the Mitcham train station. Good authentic Indian food serving all the usual dishes. Staff were friendly and service was efficient. I had the chicken masala with paratha which was delicious! Will definitely be going back for more

Loved it! Everything was great! We ordered the malai kofta and aloo masala with saffron rice and garlic naan. I always order malai kofta if it's on the menu and this place does them well! It's a delightful ball of cottage cheese, potato and spiced dried fruits in a creamy, lightly spiced sauce. You get two per serve and they are so good here!! The Aloo was also done well with the potatoes at a perfect texture - they were cooked well and served in the right amount of mild tomato based curry sauce. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food didn't take very long to come out. We left very content and far too full, wondering why we were the only ones dining in. It's a gem amongst the Mitcham cuisine, you must try it sometime!!

Love the food. Fantastic food ...we tried many restaurants in melbourne but the ever tasty food we found that is from khushboo restaurant. We love the naan and all other dishes .

OUR FAVOURITE!. We order take-away from here at least every second week and we are never disappointed. The food is always freshly cooked and delicious, the service is always friendly. Aloo Jeera, Aloo Chat, Dahl Masala and the Lamb Rogan Josh are some of our favourites.

Depends on what you get, some fantastic some not so much. With such a huge menu there's always going to be some better dishes. I HIGHLY recommend the lamb biryani and the goan prawn curry. Both are EXCELLENT dishes really tasty would order again. Others have been complete misses. Had the veg platter and every example of a vegie appetiser was pretty bad. Stodgy and not tasty. Would not order any entrees after that experience. The curry mains are a bit better but the saag paneer was very bland. Mango lassi is good. The breads (naan, roti etc) and chana masala are only average. So it really is a matter of what you order...
It is a restaurant so takeaway prices are a bit more $$ than a typical Indian takeaway that don't do a good dine in service. The staff are very nice. Sometimes orders take a long time to cook but you get some free food to compensate (ie pappadums).
Yes it is the best Indian in Mitcham because there is no other Indian places there...
So keep posting your recommended dishes for me to try! You know my top two!

Poor. I ordered take away from Khusboo on Friday night. I had Veg Samosa for entree, Chicken Korma for main, Plain Naan and saffron rice. The samosa pastry was good but inside the vegies were dark and not identifiable. The Korma texture was horrible...white, stoggy with a thin layer of butter resting on the top. The Korma flavour was subtle but the sauce was too fatty/thick. The portions were generous. The Naan was OK. The rice was good. I had to wait 15 minutes longer than expected for my meal which just adds to the disappointment. All in all, very disappointing. I will stick with my local Indian in future.

Khusboo is the best Indian restaurant in the suburb of Mitcham. I frequent Khusboo, and I can say, with out any doubt, that dining at Khusboo is always a truly delightful experience.

Great taste. The food here is much better than your average suburban Indian restaurant. Although the decor is basic, and the tables a little "cosy" it is clear that the chef approaches the food with care, passion and skill. The service is always good and the kitchen efficiency delivers on time.

On our latest visit the entrees of Samosas and Fish Tikka were simply fantastic. Our mains of Butter Chicken, Lamb Marsala and Paneer Korma were awesome.

This place is low key, but delivers very well indeed on the food. And I just love that!

Edit Oct 2016... Back again after 2 years and I realise that was far too long. This little unassuming place still has some seriously good suburban Indian at reasonable prices. The Panner Korma was just as exceptional as last time. I will be back soon....

Review. Have eaten at Khusboo many times, love the food, it can be a bit busy on a Saturday night but the food has been consistently good over many years. Family run restaurant and their pride in their food shows. The best Indian restaurant in the Eastern suburbs. Madras Fish curry gets my nod as the best.

Very friendly staff. Flavoursome food. Great experience! Will definitely be back!

Great!. A great small Indian family restaurant. Have been going here for quite some time. The owners are very friendly - she even throws in some samples of things every now and then for free. Great, friendly service. You won't be disappointed with the food either. Try the aloo bonda!
Blair
Genuinely don't understand how this got 91%. We almost suffocated from the incense and it took 40mins to get our flavourless food. Also, the water tastes like copper.
Elysia
Amazing vindaloo. Both flavoursome and hot. Great service as well.
Lakshmi
Pretty ordinary place. Below average food and service. Rude customer service. People pay money. It doesn’t take a lot to provide good service. Been there once and will stay that way.

You can't beat passion. What a delightful little family restaurant. Good food is always complemented by great hosts. The passion and dedication of the front of house here lift this place beyond so many good Indian restaurants I have had the pleasure of dinning at.

Must Try Dishes

Beef Madras (perfectly spiced to my desired taste)
Seekh Kebab
Tandoori Mushrooms OMFG!
Tandoori Anything!
Beef Vindaloo
Kashmiri Pulao (goes really well with the Seekh Kebab)

Fast service, excellent timing. Just Love it!

Lovely service and great food. This is a fantastic local Indian restaurant. It's a bit tired looking inside but the service is friendly and the food is excellent.

Have eaten in and ordered take-away on a number of occasions and have enjoyed it every time.

Great little spot for a brilliant meal. I love this restaurant. The owners take great care with service and the food is fantastic.
Must try meals include the fabulous Chicken Tikka (with lots of sizzling veggies) and for Mains I recommend the Lamb Masala and Chicken Korma. Beef Curry is also fantastic. The owners are great with kids and its BYO. Decor is not that special but prices are great.
