Review Pho Minh Long - Mitcham

Reza Fathi
These guys know how to prepare an authentic Pho. I had the same Pho in Vietnam and nowhere else. Very tasty, big meal( had to take away half if it) and reasonable price. Made my date after a tiring day of moving house . Thank you Guys!

Certainly not the best Vietnamese in Melbourne, but when you have those cravings and there are no alternatives in the vicinity this will have to do. The nuoc mam lacked intensity and where was the lemongrass because I couldn't taste it. I actually think I like their non-vietnamese items more, for example, beef and broccoli crispy noodles.
Vito Butardo
A very tasty treat to satisfy your Vietnamese food cravings. Servings are generous.
Erique Gnahc
Enjoy a nice bowl of Bun bo hue in this authentic Vietnamese restaurant. A good portion for one. Very tasty.

I ordered Beef and Broccoli with fried egg noodles and found them to be very bland and disappointing. As I was waiting the staff were preparing the restaurant for tomorrow and there was a used Covid test sitting on one of the front tables!! I’m glad they’re testing themselves (and the test was negative) to keep customers safe but for heavens sake - don’t leave your used tests laying around on tables where people will be eating! Unfortunately this was the first and last time I’ll be eating here.

Fast service, nice and clean place, the food taste fine and big serving too. I love that they give a huge amount of veggies to put in the soup. I also love the vietnamese coffee. It's a nice place to eat and have vietnamese coffee. I also love hat they have free tea

I've been going to this place for many many years and have been supporting this local business despite the negative reviews. I have no choice to leave this reason being the lady at the counter overcharged me and they refused to pay me back. I went there for lunch by myself and I ordered a pho, spring roll and a drink. Total comes to $27 something. And I used my phone to pay and only realised she punched in $77 instead of $27. I went back next day and they said they can't do anything and will pass on my details to their boss. Of course I'm still waiting for it. Keep the $50 bucks and you've lost me forever.

If you want to experience rude, unfreindly staff, this is the restuarant for you If you want to be completely iqnored when trying to order, this place is for you. I'm not sure how the food is, after standing at the counter for 10+ mins, I didn't get served. Do not waste your time here...

The pho was horrible. Ordered beef special combination and the beef tendon is like a rubber and no way you can chew it unless you are a dinosaur! The tripe and beef brisket are not fresh neither. Will never go back again!

This is a message for the restaurant owner! Our biggest complaint today was that the Clay Pot Prawns came in a clay pot that was chipped/cracked and damaged (on the sides). How can a restaurant serve food in a clay pot that is clearly cracked and chipped?? My 75 year old mother ordered that dish, and she was very concerned that they might be a cracked piece of clay in her food, and she would break a tooth! Your staff were very nice, and apologised. They said to contact the owner, so that is what I am doing. Even though the food was quite good, I will think twice about going to your restaurant again. Been going for many years, but after today, I am not so sure about going again in the future. I have provided photos as well. So Mr Restaurant Owner, throw away the old clay pots and buy some new ones!! Such poor presentation if you continue to serve food to customers in old and damaged clay-pots. Paid $39 for today's meal (my birthday lunch actually), and very disappointed.

Rhe place is always busy and crowded. I always order special beef pho when I go there, it is big in size even you order small. I tried the fried combination noodles once but was over cooked like burnt.

Recommended dish: Special Beef Pho in soup or Grilled Beef Rice Noodles in dry
Littlefoodiekiki
A nice Vietnamese restaurant if you want a quick bite to eat. They have quite a large menu with a variety of dishes, such as the classic spring rolls, pho and rice paper rolls. But they also have a ton of other noodle, rice and even more traditional Vietnamese dishes. I ordered the vegetarian egg noodle soup which comes with tofu, an array of veggies and onions. The soup is chicken stock, so the flavour is quite salty, but combined with the noodles and veggies, it is not overpowering. The dishes come very quickly though and the quantity of noodles is a lot, definitely enough to keep you full.

my fave restaurant, the pho is amazing, the broth and meat is lovely and there is always a large amount of herbs provided. I have been going here for years.

Very bad service. Phone ordered 15 mins before I got there, when I arrived I asked is that one my order and I told her my order, she said is not and I have to wait for half hour! I said I ordered 15 mins ago( actually that takeaway on the counter it is mine) and she said but no one told the kitchen. Very disappointed and I just left, Will not come back anymore.

Highly do not recommend this place! The staff are rude and are very dismissive. I would make sure you get the right change.

Although they are quick to give your food, the quality is not good! I’ve had two food poisoning experiences from the food here. Both times were from the take away. What was disappointing was how the staff responded.

Honestly just head down to box hill and grab your food there. There are two amazing Vietnamese restaurants Tien Dat and Indochine. Both with good service and the food in my opinion is quality and quantity.
Mad Dawg
Ordered the large beef and tendon pho. I felt the beef quality was average. The tendon was good. The soup base was average. The chicken springrolls were crispy. Overall average.

We came here for lunch on a Wednesday. The place was packed and we had to wait a while for a table. Both of us ordered the pho. We had to wait a while for our food too but it was worth the wait. The broth was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. We will be returning soon.

We thought we gave this place another try but it just doesn’t seem that they have gone any better since the last time we have visited them. Very disappointing experience and quality of the food.

Great Pho & Good Food all Round - Vietnamese AND Chinese Dishes

We stumbled in this place and was surprised that they offered great Vietnamese and Chinese (Cantonese) food. The pho was particularly good and the best we've had in the eastern region - it's not oily and the soup is perfectly balanced. You also get to choose your size - S, M or L.

We also ordered the bun with pork and spring rolls and it was very delicious. The pork was tender, tasty and not too fatty, whilst the spring rolls were also tasty.

I would return to Pho Minh again. The only issue is that it's a bit grubby in places and the place could do with a good clean.
Brian Kim
Tomato rice was different and the crispy chicken was exactly as expected (almost like a homemade Asian meal!). I was impressed with the serving size, but thought the ratio was way off with too much rice (not a taste issue though). The skin was crispy, and nothing was too salty. Menus were basically destroyed though, probably time to remake those please. Still, would recommend!
Sherrylle Tran
When they first opened, Minh long was clean, food was not bad and the staff were keen to please. But as years went by and they started going downhill. This place is now pretty icky - if you look at the walls, tables and chairs, you can see loads of food residue. Also, on the way to the toilet, you get sneak peak at the kitchen and this sight it pretty off putting.

Finally, service is ordinary. It’s a hit and miss depending on who is serving you but the last few times we’ve been, the staff looked grumpy and didn’t want to be there.

I really hope they improve sooner than later.
Hazel Louise Reodique
Ordered beef and tendon pho. Very satisfied! Generous amount of meat, and very tasty. Price is quite reasonable. Room for improvement: lots of staff all staying in the kitchen and customers usually have to give them a long stare to get some service.
Simone Emmett
We got takeout from Pho Minh Long today. Sadly when we got home none of the lids had been put on the food properly and we had Pho and Chilli everywhere. So disappointed. A little more care from staff would have avoided this problem. Make sure you double check the lids are all secure before you leave the restaurant...
Jherraaa
I called for a take away pho i haven't finished talking and the lady on the other line hanged up i was going to order more food, she didn't even say goodbye. When i went to pick up and pay for the food at the counter the cashier (man) was very rude so i left with a sad face. I will never come back. Rude people!!!
Psrusty
We frequent this restaurant quite often because the food quality is quite good. The only thing that spoils the experience is the staff....especially the girls. They are very unfriendly and never smile, even when we attempt to be nice to them. They also can be quite rude. Such a shame they can’t at least try to be courteous.
MF
Their food were lovely, the pho broth was rich and really can taste the herb&spices inside, my partner stir fry beef and veg on crunchy noodle was good as well just a bit too salty for her liking. But the problem about this resto is, the servers look very unhappy, but at least when we ask something, they are okay. So even though their food actually is good, we wont consider going back because of the service given.
Tangertalks
Really busy restaurant with a sweet broth for pho. I'd recommend the medium size (small is good but medium would you better if you're quite hungry). Large is quite big so probably not worth the extra dollars if you're not starving. Service is pretty bad - staff seem give off that too busy to be in a good mood to serve you vibe. In my photo we got one small beef pho and one medium. They were very generous with the beansprouts and chilli which I liked. Food was average but I didn't like the service, I'd be getting better service at Box Hill which isn't too far from Mitcham for similiar pho (if that's something you care about).
Eating With Ebony
Went here last night to have my first ever pho! i got the beef and brisket pho in a large because i was starving! The service was fast & the food came out in less than 10 minutes. The servings were quite large with lots of meat and were very filling. The large was only $14 as well. We also got some rice paper rolls which were ok, a little bland and dry but the sauce that it comes with made it tasty.
Bear Noms
Tried the chicken pho and crispy chicken which were both yummy. Also had the meat spring rolls which were good. Great place for a quick affordable meal.

Solid Vietnamese fare at competitive prices. Have been a long time resident and always seen Minh Long busy when walking by but never ventured in. Went on a Sunday morning around 11.30am and the place was quite busy already. We ordered Beef Pho & Chicken Combination Noodles. Both dishes were solid and tasty. If you are a local resident and after good vietnamese food, Minh Long is a solid option and worth checking out for a local option as opposed to driving to Springvale/Richmond.

Dear customers
Due to the increase of the pricing the menu that has been showed on Zomato is incorrect. Here is the new menu with the updated prices
Min Kyung Park
In terms of taste of pho, it is OK. Just a little bit salty. But you do not need to go to richmond or box hill for eating Pho. Easy to park. Quick service.
Descartesmuse
one of mitchams most popular eating places always busy always fast, good prices. hard to beat if you just want to grab some good food on your way out.
Freia Hu
The food were tasty, we ordered beef pho and special broken rice but you get really thirsty after the meal. The beef pho came really fast. However when we wanted to order the young waiter was so rude. He didn’t acknowledged us at first so we were not sure if he was going to take our order or was just ignoring us. Showed up a while later with grumpy face and was very rude with no manners when taking our orders. I would rather go to Springvale for a better tasting food if I’m craving for Vietnamese food.
Won’t be coming back.
Winnie Tao
This is my go to pho restaurant, imo it has some of the best beef pho in melbourne (better than some of the restaurants in springvale or richmond). Definitely recommend.
TommyTucker
The Good: Easy parking, staff friendly, prices reasonable. Big helpings

The Eh: I ordered the tomato rice and chicken wings- too salty. The pho ordered by others- ok but not as good as Richmond

My choice: convenient if around the place but not a must visit again.

I visited this place today with my wife to have lunch, and it was the WORST service I have ever experienced.

Both my wife and I frequently go to Vietnamese restaurants around the area, however, the treatment we received was incredibly RUDE. The waiter was not even listening to us when we ordered and we had to repeat ourselves just to get his attention. When we received our food, the bowls and plates were pretty much "thrown" as they were wobbling as he gave it to us, and even had food spilling over.

This left a real bitter taste in my mouth, and to make it worse, when we asked for another order (of drinks), he let out a grunt, like it was a real bother to be there. It seemed like the other staff had the same attitude too, however it wasn't as blatant as the one that served us. To top it off, they took our plates before even finishing or asking if it was ready to be taken. My blood was boiling at this point.

Don't get me wrong, the food was average at best, and there is nothing wrong with the manager/owner. However, if you (the owner) are reading I would highly advise you set some standards for your staff because I know both my wife and I, and will let our friends know to NEVER go to this place again just based on your service.

Came here at 8.30pm and knew from their signs they were closing soon but just wanted a quick in and out dinner. Was not even greeted I walked in to receive ‘we close in 30 minutes’.

Once my friend arrived about three minutes after me, we quickly ordered and for entree we had fried wontons and for mains we ordered 2 x pho (one chicken and one beef and chicken). At this point In time, we also had to ask for a new Chinese tea as they had left the bottle from the previous customer on the table.

Upon getting our food, a waitress came over to tell us they close in 15minutes.. it was here we started to get a little frustrated that we were more of an inconvenience than people who were paying for a service. We felt we had no choice but to basically inhale our food just based on looks we were receiving. The food was fresh & decently sized but we have had much more flavorsome and better pho before.
Mini Mooi
Fast service. I had large beef (well done) pho. It was big more than I expected I should be choose small size but was very nice so I could still manage to finished it.
曾玫云
The bowel is super large,I can't believe it just costs 12dollars! I can only had half!
Cheap and nice food.!Definitely I will come back for the beef combination Vietnam noodle again.
FE95
The food was good however the restaurant was so busy we were seated next to the door so every time someone came in we got a horrible cold breeze and people squeezing past our table. The waiters also paid minimum attention and took 20 minutes to take our order. Would go again for the food but hoping next time to get a better table and a better waiter.
Fe
You know that a place is good when it's so busy at lunchtime on a Wednesday that you have to share a table. The pho is seriously good here and they are not stingy on the beef. The broth is cloudy but so, so tasty. I've always found service to be quick. All in all a great little cheap and cheerful.
Foodandwinefan
Average food, service was ok. Chicken stock used on the phò smelt really funky, everything was really salty. vegetables were fresh however and the spring rolls were ok
Will
Decent pho for this side of town if you can't be bothered going to Springvale or Richmond for the real deal. Perfect for quick Vietnamese fix.
Phil Nguyen
Went to this place to have lunch. Food is very good, but experience ruined by male waiter and his poor service. I will revisit my review if this place improves.
Vana
The pho here is good but not good enough to excuse the average service you receive. The staff just don't seem to care at all. Pho was spilt all over my friend's bag by the waitress which is fine, accidents happen, however she just laughed about it and didn't apologise - it was uncomfortable especially because we had to clean it up. We asked for some water from the same waitress who we then noticed just stand in the corner next to the fridge doing nothing for about 5 minutes so we got up and got it ourselves. No biggie...just annoying! Overall, I thought it had a, pretty uninviting vibe, I'd much rather travel a bit further eg. to Bayswater or Springvale to get the same (if not better) quality pho with decent service.
Summerwong1798
The 1st time is good. This time terrible.
The oil is not fresh.
Will never try the fried noodles again.
Disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'nn. Mm!!!!!!!!!!!'nnnnnnn
Mrs Lavender
They seems to serve the white coffee in a special traditional way . Coffee with condensed milk maybe ? Hubby loves it . Pho is good and fresh, the pho is slight thicker in comparison with other pho shop , but we love it . Very popular in Sunday lunch time .
Dale Robinson
Great food, pleasant staff. Restaurant was a bit noisy when it was filled to capacity. Can't have everything I suppose. Probably the best place to grab a meal in Mitcham.
Glenn Sullivan
Awesome food.
Love this place and my new fav local.
Go there at least every 2 weeks but more often than not, weekly. Fast and food is great.
FingaLicious
Food always the same. Good broth. Love my Pho. Service is young, immature. Often they laugh loudly and play their music on phone from the kitchen. Because the food it so cheap and tasty, we only really go there for the food.

We don't expect top level service so never disappointed. Good little Vietnamese spot to visit.
Doug Tram
Love this place. Always feel satisfied unlike other restaurant around. Good value for money compare to many other restaurants like 3 stripes.. Broken rice would be my go to dish.
Tom Hill
Have been here many times for lunch and this place has decent Pho for a reasonable price. Service is always quick and efficient even when place is packed.
"JT" Jeffrie Trika
Solid Vietnamese Pho in Mitcham .....

Don't have to go to Richmond nor Springvale nor Footscray to enjoy a bowl of rice noodle soup goodness, there are plenty of other Vietnamese/Chinese fares on the menu too.
Great value, $10 for a medium bowl, all condiments, free Chinese tea too, three colours, Vietnamese coffee or Vietnamese beer.

Above average service, thank you.
Gina
Chicken and Chinese mushrooms were bland and looked very uninteresting. Spicy salt squid was just okay. Rice served on a plate for two was dry and turned cold. Waitress spilt food on our table then left it for us to clean up. A disappointing meal considering it was busy which was why we went, thinking it must be good.
I was really thirsty after the meal. Too much salt or additives maybe?
Julian B Ho
There's a very good reason why this branch has a higher rating than it's sister on in Ringwood and that is good and efficient service. Despite coming during peak hours, I've never had to wait too long to get a table. Food-wise, it's decent Vietnamese cuisine for a reasonable price. The uniqueness of this place is they serve you the oranges first before you even order!
Stephen G
3.7 this place is growing on me Pho is not bad other dishes ok $10.50 lemongrass chicken on rice can't complain salads are ok. Only Con: I did wake up at 2am as dry as the north pole of Mars. Cheap, nasty and tasty Viet fare. A once a monthly visit for sure.

Tip: Wait for winter go the pho bro.
MC
Not very good food. Spring rolls were hard and dry. Beef with broccoli very ordinary. Prices at least 50% higher than they should be. Not authentic Vietnamese, appears to be run by Chinese. Staff quite friendly and efficient. Can't think of any reason why I should ever return.
Hui Yee Hoo
Take away pho from here is not worth it!
The soup is not enough and ask for extra , they want $5 extra ! Really ????
Extra soup in a small round container with nothing COST $5, are u serious ????
Jonathan Lee
Pretty good value for money and relatively friendly staff. They're also really good at accommodating large groups of people. Definitely my go to for Vietnamese food when I'm in the area.
Soul Sista
Went here for dinner tonight. Ordered the lemongrass chilli chicken with rice. Service was outstanding. Very attentive, friendly, and food came out in literally 5 minutes!
The dish was perfectly spiced, however as earlier reviews, there were A LOT of onions. Also, the rice was a tad dry. But for $10.50 it was amazing value for money.
I also ordered some pho last week for takeaway and thought i would mention that it was also impressive and the perfect remedy for my cold.
Being a local, i will definitely be back here whenever i get a vietnamese craving!
TitaniaApplie
I'm used to a particular pho from a great place in Station Street Box Hill but since this restaurant is close to home, I thought I'd give it a shot. While the broth at Pho Minh Long is subtler is it no less delicious. But what was so delicious were the noodles, a little less wider than what I'm used and so, so silky. All round perfection in my opinion and the value for a medium sized bowl of pho is fantastic. My new regular pho fix.
Hilda Lee
Pho Minh Long is a nice, busy local Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant. We were seated after a short wait: service was quick and efficient, the table was quickly cleaned and we were immediately given menu, tea and 2 pieces of orange (which was interesting!)

The 3 color drink was not too bad, just a bit too sweet for me. The tofu was quite nice but we found it quite overpriced - $7 for 8 small pieces! Bun and Pho were both nicely presented, reasonable nice tasting but nothing stand-out or amazing. Food wasn't too salty which was good. The pho had quite a lot of onions in it.

Overall I would recommend Pho Ming Long and would be back if I was in the area.
Mikki
A good pho place around the area big portion affordable price. Have been back a few times for quick viet fix. Tomato rice and diced beef is tasty.
TweeVy Ngo
Order small bowls of pho and some rice paper rolls. The pho was simply delicious and generous in content. Would be good to have more vietnamese herbs for 3 servings of pho, but definitely great value.
Choc Pudding
I was impressed with the attentive staff. The food price is really good considering their big portion. Jackfruit smoothie was yum. I had crispy noodle with beef and chinese broccoli and it was really good. Very tasty and beef very tender. My husband had pho and i think it was okay. Their broken rice and pork chop was really yummy.
Theknifeandforktalk
A variety of orders the other night from spring rolls, chicken & corn soup, prawn toast and beef and black bean with rice we were stuffed with food. Quality was good and prices weren't too expensive which was good to see.
Vivi Wulansari
This place is always buzzing!! One of the best pho in Melbourne!! I'm one of their regular. Fried crispy noodle with beef and chinese broccoli is also another one of our favourite from the menu.

Bought a large amount of take away last Friday for a small gathering and all of my friends were satisfied and asked for the address. That says it all!

Some of the staffs are friendly, the others may need to improve. Floors can be a bit slippery at time. Lastly, it's very well priced!
K347
Just had lunch. Broken rice is no where half as good as any genuine Vietnamese eateries. Unfortunately this will be a place of 'last resort'.
Sarah Lim
Simple, cheap and satisfying food...
We always order their pork/springroll vermicelli, beef pho & chicken spare ribs. It's yum! My workmates enjoy this place too! Service is on point & fast! Not springvale bt close enough.
Loulou
Have been here before and enjoyed a nice bowl of pho, which was full of fresh flavour and at a low price however our most recent visit will not have us returning, staff were cleaning cutlery on the table behind us with a water bucket and cloth then spreading it over there other tables to dry not giving us a great first impression, staff have trouble understanding queries relating to the food and after much confusion I was served with a noodle dish which was really oily with a slimy texture, and for entree salt and pepper tofu. The tofu picture was misleading leading us to believe we receive a large portion yet out came 7 pieces of small tofu, we also noted a price increase on all dishes. As said before won't be back
Richard
Food generally lacked flavour and was one of the poorer Vietnamese restaurants I've been to in Melbourne.
We used to live in Footsray and had been to Vietnam a few times so I think I know my Vietnamese. This is not great.
The food was lacking in ingredients and flavour.
Spring rolls were only ok and the accompanying garnish was underdone - almost no mint and wet lettuce.
The Bun was lacking flavour.
The Pho was lacking flavour.
The fried chicken and rice was re-cooked from a precooked and frozen dish. Like eating reheated leftovers.
I will not be back - just too many other places that feed you better.
We figured that the reason it was popular was because there aren't too many Vietnames restaurants near the area.
Linnie Eats All The Food
After a looooooong day of playing with Mr D’s nephews and niece, we dropped by a local Vietnamese eatery. . We dropped by Pho Minh Long and it was quite buzzing already but luckily we managed to get a table and started to order. Before we even ordered, there was a complimentary plate of oranges (how fantastical was that!).
Of course I got my beloved durian smoothie but once it came out, I was super disappointed. It was the whitest durian smoothie in my life. There wasn’t an ounce of durian in it at all. Why bother serving a durian smoothie if you don’t put in any at all. It was an overpriced drink.
Ava Hampson
We've gotten food from here many times in the past and it was been very nice, but this time my sister and I ordered the Vermicelli and Crispy Chicken Noodle Soup take away and were not impressed.
Vermicelli was not the worst, but tasteless/flavorless. The main problem was the soup. It was completely cold when picked up and the chicken was so burnt and minimal with meat, it was inedible. It was like chewing on leather. The soup itself was alright, but I recommend eating In at Pho Minh Long, as take away is a risk.
Skipper
Still the best Vietnamese restaurant I reckon! Don't need to go to the city or springy, you can have a good Pho here. I always go for their beef balls Pho. Their sizzling XO beef on hot plate is a must try!
Hunteraahunter
This is a fast paste value for money restaurant. If you like something fast and cheap this will be a good choice in Mitcham. Highly recommend the spicy chicken ribs with red rice. Most of the staffs are friendly except one
girl who always look unhappy.
Eat And Be Merry Crew
This is a gem of a place - great value, great quality and very family friendly. I would definitely be a regular. My sister had the broken rice special. She wanted it noted on record that the pork chop was succulent and juicy which meant that it was not pre-cooked and simply warmed up prior to serving. I believe her meal was $10 which was a bargain. It was also a nice touch to have a few slices of complementary oranges as a palate cleanser as well as complementary tea.
Shannon.bromley67
Yummmmm! Best pho in mitcham! So yummy and so cheap - great combination. This place is always packed out, we got takeaway and had ours at home and it was delious. Big portion sizes as well.
Hannah Mack
I was very pleased with this local, very casual restaurant. The menu is full of well-loved dishes that are suitable for everyone. The pho here is yum! It is so affordable, tasty and the quantities are massive. It is such a satisfying meal. If you have just got home on a cold winters day and want something local to eat, I highly recommend their sliced beef pho!!
J
Really really fast and efficient service. Despite a full house the food arrived within a very reasonable time. The pho is excellent and is a very good deal for money.
Hardy Gleissner
I am a regular at this place because of value for money & quality. I want to mark it higher as it is consistently good, but I think first timers would be sceptical of the hygiene of this place. Please note it is only a visual thing people, I check my cutlery and food every time and it is fine. I'd suggest staff to not shout across the room in a foreign language; it can be a little intimidating for first timers.
Warren Beere
Top notch food that tastes exactly as it does from the streets of Vietnam (but with better meat). The Pho is not only delicious but fantastic proportions!!! 10/10 tasty. The staff are great, the prices won't break the bank and the food is prompt, even when the store is packed - as it frequently is.
Notice Me Senpai
A table of six of us (my partner and his family) came in for a Sunday dinner. The experience was flawless from start to finish. The place was packed, and take away orders were also leaving the kitchen. Our food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. Three of us had pho, one had vermicelli pork and another had rice with chicken. Smiles all around the table.

I had the rice paper rolls with prawns and pork, and the salt and pepper tofu. The rice paper rolls were as intended: Fresh, crisp and light. The accompaning peanut sauce was perfect in terms of flavour, and the julienne of carrot in the sauce was a surprising and delicious difference to the norm. The salt and pepper tofu was also light, nicely crisp and well seasoned. The bed of crisp noodles and mixed diced vegetables was perfect. Also crisp and full of flavour. It was not too spicy, and still had a kick to it.

They serve you complementary orange wedges and tea, as well as various condiments and sauces at no extra cost, which is a pleasant change from most places that are all too happy to bump up costs wherever they can.

After our meal, the table was cleared promptly and politely. So were the surrounding tables.

Staff were knowledgable and polite. They left you to eat your meal, but did check back to make sure everything was okay.

The durian and jackfruit smoothies were also very nice and not too sweet.

The prices are very reasonable for what you get. The portion sizes are also bang on the money. Great if you want a light supper, but the pho and vermicelli options allow for those with a heartier appetite.

I definitely will be back. Excellent experience.

Stopped by for a quick bite for lunch. Good food at a decent price!! Got veggie fried rice and spring rolls. Will be back to try out the other delights on the menu!

I'm so lucky to work where I work. There is usually someone else who forgot their lunch and needs to go to the shops to get something, and when that person is the inimitable and lovely Bu Glenda it's no tragedy that we have to go find sustenance together. She suggested we go to Pho Minh Long - it's a favourite among all staff at school as it's cheap, the menu is EXTENSIVE so EVERYONE finds something they like, and it's usually pretty quickly delivered to the table or ready to go as take away.
Rachel Ratliff
This is one of our fail safe go to restaurants . My hairdresser who is around the corner got us into this place and wow it's never dissapointed. We always have the Combination with crispy noodles and last time we also tried the pork with baby corn and veg - amazing !! Everything is cooked fresh and there's great flavour. Friendly service and as I am nut and seed allergic they always ensure to look after me with no nut or seeds ! We live about 45mins from this place and it's well worth the trip !
Olliezedd
My husband and I always find ourselves lunching here after we drop the kiddies off at their grandparents for a day. I think it's one of our guilty pleasures. No kids and a stress free lunch with a yummy bowl of pho! I'm a pho-natic and so far have not been disappointed.
EdSnails
A great little Vietnamese place.
Fairly cheap with tasty dishes.

Pho is decent.
Love the Broken Rice and Vermicilli dishes.

I come here often for a quick lunch.
Food always comes out fast.
Recommend it. :-)
Franji
We are a local & have been coming here for a long time. When we want a quick cheap meal with good food, this is the place. We always went to Richmond or Box Hill for Vietnamese but here you can park outside. The menu is great & lots of choices.

Average at best. Very average food (bordering on poor because of ingredients that were quite clearly not fresh), average service (part of my order was forgotten) and given there are so many other great Vietnamese places in the area, I won't bother going back.

I have my favourite Viet places in the eastern 'burbs, but had never been to this one before as I didn't know about it until recently. It's only a short walk up the road from my house so I was really hoping to add another fave to the list. But unfortunately, it wasn't to be. The restaurant calls itself a Vietnamese and Chinese restaurant, which probably should have been a warning sign (restaurants trying to provide two types of cuisines have never worked imo).

The restaurant is nice enough, simple tables and chairs - very typical little Vietnamese place. Ordered bun thit nuong with spring rolls (vermicelli w grilled pork and spring rolls) and a watermelon juice.

The noodles came out in a reasonable amount of time, but were a poor imitation of the real thing. I suspect that the "grilled" pork had been either shallow or deep fried - much fattier than at other places. The noodles were hot (supposed to be room temperature) and the spring rolls tasted like those cheap finger-food ones from a cardboard box.

One of the things I like most about Vietnamese is the crisp flavor of fresh herbs, lettuce, carrot and bean shoots. There were no herbs at all, and the bean shoots were limp and tasted like they were only a few hours from being past it.

The watermelon juice was tasty and an addition of fresh mint was really good, but I strongly suspect sugar syrup was also added, which really wasn't necessary - water melon is sweet enough. Also, even though I ordered this drink with the meal, they forgot to bring it and I had to remind them.

I didn't find the staff to be rude as others have said, just very apathetic (although to be fair it was a very hot day and I think we're all a little apathetic then!).

I left very disappointed, particularly with the food, and I won't go back. This seemed like imitation Vietnamese rather than the real thing and there's plenty of other much better places only a short drive/train ride away.

I didn't try their Chinese food, so I can't comment on this, but given my experience with the Vietnamese food I don't think I'll bother.

Worst Viet restaurant in Melbourne. We sat down on a table which was wiped by a dirty cloth smells like sewage... Lucky I had a wet wipes. We ordered a rare beef noodle soup but the noodle was soggy, the soup was blend no flavors whatsoever the slice beef was obviously frozen one it was well done, not rare and didn't taste anything. We also order a vermicelli noodle with spring rolls and grilled pork but the vemicelli was served hot! Told a waitress but she argued that this is supposed to be eat like this but I told her that I know what I ordered ( I had it many times in a various vietnamese restaurants and definitely not supposed to be served with hot vermicelli noodles!!! ) this restaurant failed in every way in my opinion so don't waste your money and drive 5 more mins to go to Three Red Stripes in Doncaster East which is way way better, cleaner, tastier and friendlier.

Beautiful food, really bad service. I go often with my family to the restaurant, just for the food. The service is really bad, and the waiter looks angry all the time..

Fried rice was crap-! Service was quick (maybe a little too quick) very cheap :)

Amazing food, service.. not so much!. I have not had a single dish I didn't love from these guys. The only minus is they can sometimes leave you sitting unattended indefinitely before taking your order, and hard to get their attention. Once you do get it the service is friendly and with a smile. The great food more than makes up for this, and I guess it can be part of the charm with Viet eateries!

Dined on a Saturday night at 8.30pm. The place was empty & soon found out why. Rude waitress barking orders and insisting we hurry up and order. Staff cleaning cutlery, making dumplings , mopping floors, all in the dining area whilst customers eating in there. Dirty plates, wet crockery ( which i was told to wipe dry)! Felt like we were in an imposition and they wanted us gone so they could close up.. We left at 9.30pm and the blinds were shut & lights off as we got into the car. Very disappointed!

Great Choice Big Serves Great Valu. We come here all the time. For $10 you can have great meal. The menu is quite extensive with some meals I've never seen before so I am going to keep going back and try something different each time. This is very casual dining but has something for everyone.

Great food. Came here yesterday for lunch with my sister and her bf, was surprised at the size of the large beef pho, struggled to finish it, the flavour was ok, could have been stronger in my opinion. the spicy salt and pepper squid aka spicy salt and spicy squid was delicious and cooked perfectly...although drink service could have been better, didn't get our drinks until the mains arrived which is a bit disappointing, but overall it was a good experience and food was very filling

Great!. Ordered a take away Satay Chicken from the "Rice Dishes" on the menu. For $10.00, I got a massive serve of rice in one container and a massive serve of Chicken Satay in another container with heaps if vegies incl baby corn, capsicum, broccoli, celery, mushroom, snow peas, pineapple, onion. The satay sauce had good heat and was full of flavour. Service was friendly and fast. Highly recommended for a casual lunch or to take the kids for dinner.

Delicious, Cheap, What more could you want?. Have been to this place 4 times now.
Staff are always polite, service is wonderful, though when packed can be a bit slower, this is to be expected though.
Meals seems to always come out faster than anticipated and are delicious.
I have been there twice in the evening when this place is packed. Thus they unfortunately have to turn down walk ins. I recommend making a booking if you are looking to dine in the evening.
Thoroughly recommend to give this place a try.

All negative reviews are just jealous local competitors. I could not believe my eyes when ready these pathetic negative reviews made in an attempt to make people believe it is a horrible restaurant. This restaurant is ALWAYS booked out, value for money food and consistent. Sure it's not a $200 premium dining experience but the food has ALWAYS tasted so good. We used to get our take away Vietnamese from box hill but parking is a nightmare and too expensive.
The service is always good, they are all very friendly people who work very hard. Yes they get extremely busy but they have never been rude to us when dining in or takeaway.

If you don't believe me then go and experience it for yourself.

We had take away from them on Friday night and also again on Sunday night.

Went there last night to have a below average food and service. I asked the waitress to have the entree first but the mains were served first. The beef was off, it had funny taste and too chewy. Stomach was so sore that I couldn't sleep last night. It took ages for the rice paper roll come out and it tastes like old food. The curry puff was not cooked properly. The filling was still not totally heated up. I asked the wait staff 3 times for the water and they totally ignored me. I definitely wouldn't come back and wouldn't recommended this one for any one else.

Basing this review purely on one bowl of pho. I had chicken and beef sausage pho. Broth was not very interesting tasting more like plain beef stock. The bowl was stocked with a good amount of rice noodles and meat. Accompaniments were good. Staff ok. I would come back, but only if I was not near Bayswater or Box Hill.
