Very friendly lovely staff. The restaurants was more smaller than I thought. We had green curry noodle and Pad kee mow. It was freshly made with fresh ingredient. We enjoyed it.
I think I have found my Thai place!!!! Yum, yum, yum. The Pad Thai was to perfection, the green curry was an excellent kick, but not too much and the satay sauce and coconut rice, mmmmm.. I wouldn't suggest eating in, it is more of a take away place; it was just too crowded. I will be back however.

Last night I had such an amazing foodie experience! I was crazing for Thai food and after looking at some other reviews I decided to visit Chef’s Thai in Mitcham. The main vibe that came across the reviews was that this place is authentic, and authentic was what I was looking for!. I walked into a small little restaurant with only a few tables but a beautiful warm atmosphere. The chef greeted my companion and I when we walked in and showed us to a nice intimate table at the back of the room. My eyes were wandering as I looked at the deep brown walls with golden flowers. Flowers seemed to be the theme as on each table was a silver bowl with a white lotus sitting in the middle. The lime napkins brought a pop of colour to the atmosphere and just by looking I could tell that I was in for an authentic experience.
Lovely fresh food with great care and attention shown to allergen specifications. Relaxed environment and a place to sit and chat with friends.
If you are looking for an authentic Thai foods. Chef's Thai is the one of my favorite sit-in or take-away. It's a small little place,It's quite busy on Friday and Saturday night but it worth to wait. My favorite Dishes, is Green Curry chicken that's very authentic and less sugar, which is i really like it. All the noodles dishes, i have tried them very nice. This will be my first choice for eating out.

Hidden Gem. My husband and I were looking for Thai one night and happened upon Chef's Thai in Mitcham. It is only a little restaurant with about 4-5 tables, the decor is not that great but the food and service is amazing! If you want authentic Thai at great prices then this is the place for you! Most of the main meals averaged $11-$12 a mean, much cheaper than other places and the food and selection was amazing! Never before had I seen such a huge selection in a Thai restaurant! The food was melt in the mouth and the best Thai I had ever eaten! My fav dish was the Roti bread and dipping sauce only because I am a sucker for Roti bread and this one was delicious!!
Fabulous food. This husband and wife team work hard to bring some of the tastiest thai food we have experienced. Regardless of the rush for take away, the dine in service is uninterrupted. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Best Thai in Mitcham. We're lucky enough to now live around the corner from this amazing Thai restaurant.
Have been here a few times now and have loved every dish we've tried, seafood - squid and fish and both beef and chicken dishes (love that they use chicken breast in the curry too we always have to request this from other restaurants) with the Panang Chicken Curry being a favourite.
Before we found Chef's Thai we went to the other Thai in the area and none can compete with the quality and taste of the food.
It's best to get take away as there's not too much room for dine in and we found that it's really slow to get your food, we've waited over an hour before, especially on a Friday/Saturday night, they're much faster at take away which is usually a 15/20 minute wait.
They have a new website too which is really cool! Has images of the food and you pay online, great concept other places you should take up.

Like others, it looks fairly modest from the outside. I've driven and walked past it countless times. I decided to give it a shot one night and have been a regular customer since. Excellent service with great food. You can taste that it's fresh as well - it seems more authentic than other competing Thai takeaways. Well worth a shot for any locals looking to try something different,

I've just got a personal invitation to go back to ChefThai for a complimentary mixed pork and prawn dumpling, since they didn't executed it perfectly last time I ordered it. Wow talk about resutuarant with integrity! So here I am at lunch time ordering papaya salad and chicken satay for lunch eating outside enjoying the weather in the Sun next to a very cute white picket fence, best papaya salad in Melbourne in my opinion. They now have lunch special for $10.90 and I heard that a new menu is coming soon with pandan custard for dessert, can't wait!
What a revelation. I live nearby and have driven past for months thinking I should drop in. Wish I'd done so earlier. Superb salad (so spicy!) and kids loved their noodles. Don't be put off by the modest shop front, this is worth a visit.

Great Thai food and service. A friend recommended I try a more authentic style of Thai food. He sent me to this great place that is out in Mitcham. A small place that had quite a large selection of food to choose from. Some of the amazing dishes I tried were the Tom Yum soup, 2 curry dishes, satay chicken and the vegetable spring rolls. The chef made great use of ingredients which resulted in a flavoursome and fresh taste to the food. The service was very friendly. Definitely worth the drive to that side of town if you want something different and original.

Chef's Thai - Show's how it's done!. Recently I was invited by a friend to partake in a Thai banquet. Little did I know about it' location and quality, so after the 30 minute drive to Mitcham, I was getting pretty curious and hungry! Little did I know that I was in for a culinary surprise!
Upon entering the tiny premises on the corner, we were greeted by an excited and welcoming chef, who shook hands with vigour and had us seated in no time. Always a good sign when the chef/owner is proud and displays high integrity. Below is the breakdown of the meal and comments...
Entree - Vege Spring rolls and custom dim sum - very nice and crispy, with great accompanying sauces.
Mains 1 - Sauteed Squid with Thai shrimp salad - Have to give this 9/10 as it was incredibly delicious, well cooked and tender soft calamari!
Mains 2 - Baked Barrumundi with special ginger sauce - Delectable. Flawless 10/10.
Mains 3 - Fish Curry and side dishes - Superb curry that's not overpowering 7/10 - forgotten what the side dishes were!
Dessert - Sweet coconut rice pudding with fresh mango - Am I in Thailand or is this a dream? 9/10. Superb.
I have to say that the fresh, precisely cooked food was enough to hook me in for return meals, but the dedication and friendly social attitude that the chef displayed were both warm, charming and inviting. His happy disposition was the icing on the cake. It's probably the best Thai experience I have every had, but I cannot ignore some of the good feelings and surroundings that evoked my gratitude in some other restaurants. My first reaction will stick - happiness & contentment.
This place is in my top ten. period.

A big thumbs up and best Thai in mitcham (it's qualified damn it!), tasty prawn spring rolls with a Thai basil touch, pad Thai, and a tasty curry.... yum. I love it when local Mitch can take on the quality of inner city, it happens not often enough, we will be back as regulars!

Fantastic!!. I found Chef's Thai about 3 months ago and eat there regularly. The quality of meal has remained unchanged since the first meal I ate there and the food is authentic and flavour some with more than generous portion sizes.
Simple, fresh, delicious Thai food at very reasonable prices. The owner/operators are lovely friendly people. Chef's Thai is an absolute gem!
Out of the handful of Thai restaurants that are local to me, this is the one I get takeaway from the most. The noodle dishes are always great, and usually have more veg in them than the competition. When they're busy you may have to wait a few minutes more, but it's never too bad.

Great place to get a sizable and tasty lunch. Must say it's NOT the best Thai food I had, thus 1 less star. However it is very very good value for money. Both the server and chef are very friendly and efficient. This' a place of choice for me when I need a good and semi-healthy bite for lunch around Mitchem.

Chef's Thai Mitcham is my "Go-To" Thai restaurant. It is simply "The Best." I have tried others in the eastern suburbs but always come back to this one. Staff are great, service is great, and the food is soooo good. I love the Cashew Nut Chicken Stir Fry, Crispy Fried Chicken, and the Sweet & Sour Stir Fry. Fresh and full of flavour, and good value. I highly recommend Chef's Thai.
