Review Cinque Cucina E Caffe - Mona Vale

jules all day
Nice and relaxed spot next to Mona vale beach, perfect for a sunny day. Service was a little slow but the food was great. The burger was really tasty and juicy and the gnocchi was really well balanced too. There isn’t much on the wine list and I didn’t find it to be too nice.

Yes i know the owner's, but this is not a biased review it is what you see in the photos, sexy drinks, yummy food, and good serving size enjoyed in a great setting near the beach at mona-vale, on sydneys northern beaches. Make sure to check it out and also the staff had a real positive vibe of making sure you felt looked after.

So much promise but so many mistakes. Nice Italian decor and drinks but poor service. The issue we too encountered was the "no food from 1130 to 12 rule". Then when we decided to just order drinks, they sat on the counter for 15 minutes before they got taken to us. The drinks were nice but the service was below average. All when the place was empty at midday. And don't shame other reviewers (below) when they comment on your business it makes you both look childish.

Very friendly staff with fairly good food. Waffles were pre-cooked and crumbly. Bit expensive for what you get. Nice place for coffee and cake.

Airy little restaurant very close to the beach with quite genuine Italian dishes. Not a huge menu but with good choices. Gnocchi with zucchini was great and my son loved the ciambella donut with ice cream. Good food.

I had really friendly service here whilst I was waiting for a takeaway coffee. The coffee was delicious! I’ve also had a late breakfast here and it was really good. The sea breeze is beautiful and you can just walk across the road and put your toes in the ocean.

I drove for over an hour in traffic on a Sunday in the rain to have the Pork Belly Panino from Cinque Cucina, and I'd do it over and over again. Lovely staff, delicious food and coffee. Can't wait for my next visit to this fantastic spot!

Due to friend's reckon on Fork festival,we sign up this Italian restaurant at Mona Vale in conjunction with celebration of my niece's exam results. We arrived there on time at 6.30pm and we ordered at 6.45pm. Entree came at 7pm but main course came late around 8.05pm!!! Omg...they took ages to prepare food though the presentation is look alike masterchef participants style..yet they said they only have 2 chef to cook. We saw our next table customers who came late n ordered later than us but have their main course first!! That is so unfair. This is perhaps our first and last to this restaurant. They are too slow to react to customer's request. Their truffle parmesan fries taste much better than main course. We ordered beef, fish of the day, risotto, linguinne and pork belly. Fish is tasteless and food is served cold. Not worth paying the full price for it. U better spend somewhere else for it. E.g. Fratelli Fresh.

It was our first visit today. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. I don’t usually write reviews but feel compelled to do so. I took my wife and my 82 year mother for lunch as a special treat. Firstly, we weren’t given a very good table and there were other options. We arrived at about 11.45 so were unable to order from the lunch menu & were told to wait till 12 till we could order. We weren’t given table service so ordered from the till yet others were given table service. It was a comedy of errors- offered the wrong order numerous times. Ordered and paid for our food and got all meals bar one. Was told that one meal wasn’t on the docket so had to wait for that meal and had to pay for it at the end. That meal came out- obviously rushed, and was burnt. So waited again ( my meal & mothers meal was ok, yet bland). My wife requested another piece of toast as hers was burnt. When we asked the waitress where it was she responded -yeah, it’s toasting’ in an extremely rude manor. When paying for my wife’s meal at the end ( which they had clearly left off the docket) my wife expressed to the waitress that she was disappointed with the whole experience - she was given no acknowledgement. In fact, the waitress didn’t even thank her for when she paid. Rude waitress and not a good experience. Won’t ever return

Eating: 3.5/5

Friendly staff and pretty good food. Calamari was very crispy, but there was more batter than calamari. Got the seafood linguine, cowra lamb and barramundi - all had good flavours, just quite pricey.

Meal portion was small. The signature pork belly was bland and the salad was nothing inspiring. I feel I paid way too much and did not experience italian quisine at all. Time for take-out... :(

Thought we'd give cinque a second chance after a middling visit for their Sunday special a few months back. We were very disappointed. Nothing was really right. Tiny (pictured) "main" calamari we ordered as a starter, undercooked and flavourless risotto, very undercooked and pathetically measly osso buco, paste-like porchetta, mussel-less seafood dish, and brusque service. Good location but that's about it.

One of my favourites when down by the beach ❤️ I had the meatballs, main size, served with sourdough, divine!! My love had entree calamari and bruschetta! Love listening to Italian language blaring from the kitchen making our experience even more authentic. 😍

Cinque has all the ingredients for a very good italian restaurant. Location, decor, friendly staff, italian accents but..... the mains were less than impressive. The expectation for the mains was high after the very tasty shared entree plate - Ricotta Cake/Stuffed Mushrooms/Crispy fried calamari etc. Beautiful! The same could not be said for the Ossobuco & Gamberi in padella (garlic & chilli prawns). One piece of fatty tasteless Ossobuco in the middle of massive amount of mash potato. At $22 a plate and a classic italian veal dish I would have expected it to be a signature dish for Cinque. The Prawns were cooked well however again bland in their flavour and resting on two pieces of toast? Not even italian bread like a nice ciabatta on the side.! By placing the "toast" under the prawns, and sauce, you ended up with a soggy piece of bread. Presentation 0. Finished with a coffee that was fashionably warm. Lift your game Cinque you could be so much better with a little effort. You may be busy however that's more to do with lack of restaurant competition in the area than your food. $200 for 4?

A short stroll to Mona Vale beach – this is a great friendly café to go to if you’re going to have a beach day or on any day really! Come for breakfast/lunch/dinner or if you’re after a strong and smooth take away coffee. Ticks all my boxes – good coffee, good food, good value and good smiles.

At Cinque Cucina e Caffe the atmosphere matches its beach location; relaxed, friendly and breezy. We walked in and there were young families scattered across the café and even a few four legged friends. The staff were all smiles and accommodating to everyone, even stopping for chats and admiring the babies and children when they weren’t busy. The café is Italian which of course means great coffee, they use the boutique blend Little Italy. Cinque is open for breakfast and lunch 7 days a week and dinner Wednesday-Sunday.

Delightful up and coming caffe. After only hearing great reviews from Cinque caffe, I decided to try this place with a group of friends. We were completely blown away with this little hidden gem. The pizzas are super authentic, fresh and light. The service is charming and I can not wait to go back!

Highly recommend, you wont be disappointed.

Gorgeous cafe, wonderful service, food is delish and great priced. Have struggled to find good food on the beaches, seems restaurants and cafes rest on the fact that they've a great location and are in demand. This place does not fall in to that category at all!!!
