On behalf of Monbulk Business Network, THANK YOU to Penny and crew for contributing to the local catering at the social launch night of The Monbulk & District Business Directory. The slices and mini donut balls were delish!

Semi local bakery to me that I hadn't been to since the kids stopped catching the bus. Set in a local shopping area there is ample parking each time you come by. Today we decided to buy some rolls and to try out the pies. Service was quick and very friendly. Rolls were just how you want fresh bread to be. Crusty on the outside but fluffy and soft on the inside. Our pies were the steak and bacon, chicken & mushrooms and a steak and chilli ( I think?). Pastry was divine. Filling was tasty and you could tell the ingredients used were good quality. No gristly bits that you often find with some pies! Definitely will return and try more!

An unsuspecting bakery with all of the things you expect The Steak and Pepper pie won an award for a reason - it was delicious! Lots of other pastries to choose from too, we will definitely be back. Heads up there is no seating here, so plan to take your pies away to enjoy.

What a hidden gem of a bakery i was guided here through looking at the Great Australian Pie awards and i was not disappointed i cannot speak for the other varieties of pie but the pepper steak was perfect. the filling was a perfect ratio or gravy and meat, the pastry was thick enough to hold its own and crunchy 10/10

We lived in Monbulk back in 2008/9 and this was our favourite bakery. Their bakewell tarts were a legend, and since we are now living in New Zealand I would give anything to know how they made them. Since their baker was getting all kinds of awards at the time he probably wouldn't divulge. More power to him! Pies wonderful, coffee fantastic, next time we go back to Melbourne, we will take a trip out to get those bakewells again. Love ya!
