Boughshed Restaurant is located inside The Dolphin Resort and faces beautiful Monkey Mia beach. When we stayed at the resort we found it was the perfect place to relax with a coffee in the morning and watch the dolphins arrive for their morning feed.
Seating is available inside and outside of the restaurant on a large airy patio. There are also a few scattered lounges and cabanas which are a nice place to be with an afternoon cocktail.
On one of the nights we stayed, we also had dinner at Boughshed, and ordered :
Popcorn Crocodile
Scallops with Purree Cauli and Pork Belly
Hot and cold Seafood plate
Cheese plate (three cheeses)
A bottle Margaret River Shiraz and coffee
My husband I were both pleasantly surprised by the popcorn crocodile - it was spicy and had a great crisp coating.
We also loved the hot and cold seafood plate, it had a variety of fresh seafood including oysters, barra and octopus. The Seafood Plate is a generous serve and we found that after having an entree, we could easily share this plate between two.
I would have liked a few more crackers on the cheese plate, but that's my only complaint.
our bill was $135, which I thought was great value for a seafood dinner for two, wine, coffee and cheese - and lets not forget that view.
Bookings are essential, it's a large remote resort and theres only one other smaller dining option onsite. Staff were friendly but service can be a little slow at peak times.
Visited for the first time in 15 years, this easter. I recall thinking it was good last time absolutely world class, the seafood platter was large and interesting, the entrees/ tapas were innovative and delicious, kids even really enjoyed their meals, the best seafood restaurant in WA? I cant think of any that come close. also service excellent too.
Amazing setting, great prices/value for money. Staff go above and beyond. They genuinely care about the food, the service and the experience.
The food is great. Just watch out for the seagulls they'll hover around and if you leave your food unattended for a few seconds its now theirs.
The restaurant has been given a facelift in recent months and now has a very layedback Fremantle fee about it, with a lounge bar and new pizza oven they have big plans for the place. As for the food, fantastic. It looked amazing and tasted great, very fresh and appealing. Even the prawn salad looked and tasted great. Lunch menu was reasonably priced with most dishes between $15 - $20. All in all I like it!!!
LOVE THE BOUGHSHED!
It’s our go to for a fancy night or lunch out in Shark Bay. I plan to try the whole menu eventually…
The view is beautiful, staff are sensational and food and drink is delectable.
My favourite is to get one of each oyster (finger lime is the best) and the blue swimmer crab risotto. Also love the pork bites!
The cocktails are also amazing, spicy margaritas every time!
Came by for breakfast after the dolphin encounter. They have menu items and it seems to change depending on the sitting. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. You can't hear the speaker from here though so you might miss the announcement when the dolphins show up. I had the waffles and they reminded me of the frozen costco waffles. The hot chocolate was quite milky and not very chocolatey.
This restaurant is part of the RAC Monkey Mia Resort but open to the public or those visiting the national Park. Good coffee and well priced breakfast and lunch. Stunning view and enjoy the emus walking in and around the resort. Dog friendly which is rare, just ensure they are leashed at all times.
Had a great experience here , the food was tasty and plentiful.
Spacious indoor and outdoor seating with a awesome view.
All served by very friendly staff that like to have a chat.
Easy to recommend this restaurant.
Will definitely return.
We have had the most beautiful dinners at Boughshed in Monkey Mia. The staff could not have been more helpful! In particular Paula, who is an absolute asset to the restaurant.
Highly recommend the steaks and seafood on the menu! Oh and the crocodile and desserts!
Had lunch and dinner there. Service was nice and the food was as nice. Their caesar salad was really the part. I added chixken and anchovies in mine 👌🏾 Staff are friendly. Guermo (not sure i got the spelling right, but he is originally from around Venice, Italy) took good care of us.
We had 2 dinner nights 1 happy hour afternoon sessions and 1 breakfast.
All visits were great. Friendly quick staff.
Little errors were quickly fixed.
Nice wine selection.
Kids meals are quite big and come with sides of salad, garlic bread and chips.
