Review Espresso 3094 - Montmorency

The reviews say it all! A great cafe, nice outdoor area and dog friendly. The food was amazing (I’d recommend the hash stack!) and fast service! One of my new favourite cafes for breakfast! ⭐️

All the great reports that I have heard about this cafe stacked up nicely. Excellent hot coffee and beautifully inexpensive muffin tasted today. The young staff are super friendly and skilful.

Vibe: pretty good, relaxed and spacious comftable environment, not luxury though. Crew: lovely and young but not very well trained Food: fresh, diverse and delicious Is it over the top? Not really but is one of the good ones in the area.

This local cafe has a comfy country style crossed with hamptons vibes. The staff are friendly and very approachable. However, because their food, coffee and service is in demand you’ll need to get here early if you want decent seating. Today my wife & I were lucky to snag a bar seat inside and we were served up Shakshuka and a Vege Brekky. The stand out for me were the Miso Mushrooms included in the Veggie Brekky. For Miso lovers, I can’t recommend these enough. My wife has had the Shakshuka twice in a row. And she said it was even better the second time! Keep on doing what you’re doing 3094!

Your cafe has the honour of getting my first negative review on anything. I have been a regular for 18 months and usually just want a coffee and treat, one would think pretty easy. The standards of your staff have slipped in the last six months as once again my coffee order was stuffed up today. The sorry was meaningless and almost offensive as they got the newest member of staff to do the dirty work rather the staff member responsible. In the past, I have had to find my own treat sitting on the counter long after coffee delivered, found my order on another table where no-one was sitting, forgotten coffee on at least two occasions. The staff just don't seem to coordinate the orders very well and get easily distracted. I hope whoever is responsible for the management of your cafe can upgrade the standards and efficiency in your cafe.

Great food, amazing coffee and friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more!

Espresso 3094 is located just close to the Montmorency station with indoor and outdoor seating area. Cafe has a lovely ambience and modern interiors. Eggs on toast and coffee was delicious. Very friendly staff and great service.

LOve going here always busy and food always presented very nicely

The food wasn't bad, however I found 5 hairs in my food. The first, I thought may have been my own so I ignored it, however I found 2 blonde hairs and 2 black hairs. I usually don't care if I find a hair in my food, just remove it, it doesn't ruin my meal. But after finding 5, I was a bit over it. Might be an idea for your staff to wear hair nets or even get a haircut. Again, food was good, hairs not so much

I am a regular .. my "Go-To" place for local Brekkie! Love the Brekkie options, coffee is amazing (they have coconut 🌴 milk), and the staff are so awesome. A little gem in paradise ✨🌺🌴🌹❤️✨🌺🌴🌹❤️✨🌺🌴🌹❤️✨🌺🌴🌹

i am a regular at 3094, smashed av being my absolute fave. but the new menu is a let down. the feta is now in huge blocks on side of plate instead of through the avo. also the spring onions instead of the red onions is a no from me. disappointing.

I really enjoyed a long lunch with a friend, in the shaded courtyard. I had a fresh juice and the chicken & mushroom filo with Greek salad. My meal was tops 👌

Great place to go to with kids. It's usually pretty busy though. The last 2 coffees I've ordered there were almost cold which has been unusual . Hopefully better next time!

Fantastic experience ... staff bent over backwards to assist us after a little mishap with granddaughter (miss 3 year old). Would recommend this establishment to all!!!

I loved the ambience of the place! A real nice vibe & street scape too.

Consistently great coffee. Friendly service. Good food. Been coming here for years and it's still my number 1 go to spot in Were St.

My kids had pies, they were soggy and you could tell they had been microwaved & then chucked in the oven, they tasted weird as well.... very underwhelmed
Georgia Renee
The Salmon Hash is on point and generous servings always.

Love the coffee and the breakies great place to go...

It's one thing to have the perfect latte another to have the perfect ambience but it's made even more perfect by the beautiful staff that make you feel so comfortable and welcomeThanks to the sweet lady, Lynn

Avocado smash - definitely a must have. Kids nuggets and chips were super tasty and a lot of nuggets too! Coffee was great, kids milkshakes spot on. Definitely be back soon.

The same friend was in town and wanting to catch up so we found ourselves back here again, what can I say sometimes you go out for brunch to spend time with people not just to eat! It seems however that they (potentially) took my advice as I ordered the same dish and the colossal pieces of feta were decidedly smaller on this occasion as you can tell from the photos. Still nothing overly mind blowing but serviceable nonetheless

Original review
I caught up with a friend who was sans wheels and so suggested Espresso 3094 as it was walking distance for her. This was very much as it presents, a basic cafe for locals. I was wondering why no one had brought us water or served us after we were sat for 20 minutes and then realised you pay at the counter and get a number.

I opted for a smashed avo thinking it was a safe bet and while there was nothing overly wrong with it the giant cubes of feta overwhelmed the plate and considering they were a particularly salty variant it dominated the flavour of the dish. Definitely not proportionate ratios. At $19.50 it was expensive for such a non impressive meal. Admittedly it did come with 2 poached eggs but I didn’t particularly want them.

Menus that price on the base dish of smashed with an option to add eggs are much preferred for me. For were I to say I didn’t want the eggs I can guarantee the I would have to pay the same and for what I wanted it was inflated for a pedestrian dish I had to line up to order

My weekend place. Best coffee in the area, lovely atmosphere with indoor and outdoor dining, pastries are well made and staff are quick and efficient.

A last minute decision to have brunch found us in Montmorency and surprisingly there isn’t a lot of choice when it comes to cafes. We chose this one because it had plenty of seating but also because it was so busy (that’s a good sign).

You order at the front after taking a seat. Menu is pretty good with nice variety of food.

My partner had the French toast and couldn’t stop raving about it. I had two poached eggs on multigrain with haloumi which was cooked to perfection.

Only down side was that the iced coffee was way way to strong although served in a big glass.

Staff are lovely and extremely helpful.

Otherwise this place was great. Will return.

Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Good street parking but one our limit. Dog friendly for seating outside.

Espresso 3094 is located on leafy Were Street in Montmorency. With a large courtyard & plenty of tables out on the street, it’s a very popular spot with the locals. We visited on a Saturday morning & it was packed, filled with families & loads of cute dogs. There is also a spacious indoor dining area & a lovely friendly atmosphere.

We started with drinks, a huge iced latte & a beetroot latte & ordered a couple of dishes to share.

The salmon hash was a huge dish. House made hash, smoked salmon, dill sour cream, beetroot relish, rocket, avocado & a poached egg & we added halloumi. We both loved the fresh flavours in this dish.

The club 3094 was a favourite, the grilled chicken & bacon worked really well with the caramelised onion & cheese & with a generous serve of chips on the side, one of the better club sandwiches I’ve tried.

It was a warm day so we needed smoothies. They were both so refreshing, the melon berry was filled with watermelon & apple juice, mixed berries, frozen yogurt & crushed ice. The orange mango refresher, freshly squeezed orange & watermelon juice blended with mango & ice. These lovely light smoothies were the perfect accompaniment to our generous sized meals.

Espresso 3094 also boasts an impressive selection of house baked goodies. I was eyeing off the passionfruit sponge cake when we came in so ordered a piece to share. It was a huge slice of cake & while I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, this cake was perfect. A tangy passionfruit icing on the top that balanced well with the light sponge & flavoured cream. I will go back specifically to have this cake again, it was that good.

The staff at Espresso 3094 were efficient, super friendly & knew their customers well, definitely a lot of regular visitors which isn’t surprising. We really enjoyed our visit to Espresso 3904 & I’ll be back for that passionfruit sponge. Thanks so much for having us.

All day breakfast and Lunch menu available. Ordered the vegetarian breakfast which was delicious and not too oily. Had the option to choose which way wanted eggs to be cooked also. For $19 it was a decently sized meal and perfect for brunch. Only problem was that the kitchen closed at 3pm even though the store hours say it closed at 6pm. Would recommend as one of the best cafes in Monty

Great food and amazing service highly recommend! It was so busy in there and they didn’t miss a beat! Food was all fresh and hot! Coffee was pretty good but could have been better.

⭐️4.5 stars⭐️

This place is cool as! With both an outdoor or indoor area, a wide selection of food and some delicious cakes, you cannot go wrong. Pair that with super friendly staff and we have a highly recommended cafe.

What we ordered: Smashed Pumpkin, Multi Bella w/ halloumi and Hash Stack w/ bacon and halloumi. All meals were generously sized and filled with a variety of flavours. There were no complaints from any of us and despite the generous serving sizes, we left no scraps!

Delicious😃 we will be back.

always find this place full of life and customers, love the vibe and quality of all products ill be back again you can be sure of it, forgot to mention that there is a constant flow of specials the kitchen crew create so try them
Eating With Ebony
Went in for breakfast & has a lot of seating inside & outside. Outside has a chalkboard to keep the kids entertained. I got the big breakfast, my Aunty got the waffles & the pink perfection juice and my sister got the muesli & a coconut chai. The service was friendly & the food came out quite fast. The juice was really nice as well as the pancakes. My sister thought the chai & muesli was ok. I thought the big breakfast was filling but i think it needed another piece of toast & felt like it was missing something. I don’t know how to describe it but felt like it was a bit dry. The caramelised onions & mushrooms was really nice.

Absolutely love this place! Since moving to Monty, I love showing this place off to my friends when walking down Were St. It has such a great atmosphere. The staff are always so friendly and accommodating. Plus, they serve great coffee ☕
Ciccio ?
It’s a lovely place to visit, coffee was good, but not sure what I ordered, it was a chicken and mushroom foil it was a bit expensive not that special for me. I think there should be something like toasties or rolls on the menu a bit more or a variety. Besides that I will be back to try something else.

Coffee is average and food range is good. Standard fare. Service is the issue here. I ordered a coffee, an iced coffee (for my mother) and breakfast. Food came before coffee and iced coffee came at least 15 minutes after food had been finished. And after 2 reminders. This seemed to be because a bigger group of regulars walked in and the staff fell over themselves to serve them first, leaving my mother to wait 40 minutes for her drink. Unacceptable. We’ll never return.

I often come here for coffee and enjoy the outside seating areas, especially the courtyard. The coffee is very good and the food is tasty (it has improved recently). It’s a little expensive for the meal sizes on occasion but in general it’s rather tasty.

The staff are always friendly and make an effort to know customers by names and faces which makes it a really pleasant place to come and have a morning coffee.

Brilliant as always. The veggie breakfast was perfectly cooked and plentiful. Staff attentive & pleasant. The outdoor was absolutely perfect today. We will definitely be back.

Ordered the Breakfast burger, was nice until I noticed the egg was undercooked and had egg whites sliding off the top of it 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 nasty

Lovely menu, lots to choose from. Was very busy inside on a Tuesday which is a good sign. Food came out quite quickly. I got the smashed Avo. Eggs were cooked well, good portion size (two pieces of toast which is always good), was fresh and was presented nicely. All the cakes and slices etc. in the window at the counter looked delicious! Will be back again

Very cool and trendy place! Not big but a cool outdoor area. Hard to maneuver a pram around inside.
Food delicious though, veggie brekkie amazing and coffee so so good!
Customer
I usually love this place and go a lot. But lately the service has been slack. My boyfriend ordered two milkshakes the other day and we waited..I kid u not, 20 mins for them to arrive. We asked where they were (nicely) and they said 2 seconds away. Another 5 mins later we see two small take away milkshakes just sitting on the bench waiting to be taken by a waitress but no one bothers to even grab them and bring them over. I also forgot to add we ordered to have them at the cafe not taken away. So $4.50 for a milkshake the size of a child's cup. Barely an apology. I love this place and will still come cause the service is usually so lovely. But just need to step it up a little guys. I know it's busy but customer service is a must.

Great place for Sunday coffee and Breakky. Ordered a couple of coffees, Multi Bella and Salmon Hash.. Generous portions and well executed. Very Tasty.. definitely worth the trip. Food arrived quickly and lots of space to sit indoors and outside. Allows pets too.

Friendly, warm and deliscious. There's everything to like about the coffee and breakfast here on a cold winter morning. It's always busy but still feels cosy and welcoming.

Food has definitely improved over the years. I had the Beef Burger this time. Great flavours and a good sized portion for lunch. Previously had the Kale & Shrooms which was fresh & tasty. Very friendly staff. Large seating area inside as well as a large outdoor space by the side of the building.
Coffeesnob
Visited Espresso 3094 this morning for breaky. Was lucky to get a table as it was packed. Great little cafe that is obviously popular with the locals, great atmosphere and cake cabinet looked amazing as did decor. Coffee left a lot to be desired, or perhaps just some proper milk training for the barista. I couldn't even drink mine and another on our table ordered soy to get full cream. Food was delicious and serves were huge. I had the hash stack which I would make a few tweaks to so it's more enjoyable (less mushroom, 2 smaller hash browns rather than one huge one and bacon! Also more care for cooking eggs as my poached egg was overcooked) a friend had the French toast and this was the meal of the table I think. However again a few tweaks, like the whole bread should be dipped in egg as the egg taste is lost, otherwise it was great! A few refinements and maybe bring it back to less options and this cafe could be amazing. I feel like they are trying to do too much instead of making less things amazing! We also didn't wait long at all for our food which was great!

A B S O L U T E L Y L O V E this cafe!!! It's easily one of the best in our area thanks to the wonderful and friendly staff and delicious (not overpriced) food. On top of this, the coffee and treats are amazing and go down smoothly after lunch. In particular, one of the beautiful waitresses Alex (with blonde/browny hair) was so kind to my friends and I and very patient when we ordered, I would definitely go back again! 11/10

Service here is very good and the two young men working there on Sunday afternoon were particularly helpful and courteous and coffee was good. Have to say though, had eggs benedict on Anzac Day and it was not good. The hollandaise sauce was ordinary and lacked flavour and the ham was like shoe leather. This was a shame as other dishes have been ok.
Had the Multi Bella (Poached eggs with smashed avocado, mushrooms and parmesan) a few days ago which was vast improvement on the eggs benedict had previously and edited review accordingly. :-)

Decor and outdoor area is nice; Food was also good. Opted for the big breakfast; Would of been better with a second piece of toast to accompany the mushrooms/onions/tomato relish/bacon/chorizo. Mushrooms were also a tad large. Coffee was great though. Nice little cafe all in all for a decent breakfast experience.

Nice and cosy Sunday brunch. Normal food with good taste. Clean environment and busy during lunch time. Like the bread and donuts. Nice and cosy Sunday brunch. Normal food with good taste. Clean environment and busy during lunch time. Like the bread and donuts.

Great coffee. Even when busy, (which 9 times out of 10 it is), the quality of coffee is still great. Good selection of cakes and biscuits too.
Wade Short
Food quality is Ok, not great, Just ok, hash browns were particularly disappointing, frozen product fried in house, very similar to a McDonalds version. Kitchen could add just a little no cost live to the meals and bring them up to 5 star, add a little spice to avocado smash, don't use bought in relish, cook Roma tomatoes properly (grilled on one side of a very firm tomato just isn't good enough).

Most improvements are needed with wait staff, all of which appear to be about 15. I too was a waiter from 14, but I was trained, don't just dump food on the table, cutlery should be set out neatly in front of the client and a 4 year old deserves a glass and cutlery too, they are people, and paying customers. If you think I'm being harsh, consider 2 and a 1/2 breakfasts with beverages cost just over $80, I don't mind paying, I just want value for that money, which means better finishing if the food, and either experienced or trained wait staff.

As much as I want to like this place, I just don't. I keep giving them chances and I keep getting disappointed. Their courtyard is beautiful, their interior is classy, if a little sterile and echoey, and their staff seem lovely. However, they need a better system for ordering, for starters. We just wanted to pop in and buy a couple of desserts, and ended up waiting in line for over 10 minutes, while there was only one cashier (and they don't take orders at the table, everyone has to go inside). When we got our desserts home (nearly $13 for a a vanilla slice and a tiny cheesecake) we discovered they were old; the pastry on the vanilla slice was chewy, verging on soggy, and the cheesecake was claggy and the outside had that 'old fridge' flavour.
Aside from that, last time I ordered a 'fresh' juice from there I wasn't informed they were out of actual fresh lime juice and were using bottled. If I'd been told I'd have chosen a different juice. And last time I ordered food I was underwhelmed completely with the quality and price. I found it quite bland.

Honestly, they've been getting away with this for a couple of years, but there are cafes and bakeries in the area that are far surpassing them in quality, freshness, service and price and after the cake experience (and discovering a new bakery in greensborough), I have zero reason to go back there.
Food By Hilly
Went here for lunch and got the beef burger, the combination of sauces on it blended together very nicely and complimented the burger perfectly. The side of chips was a hearty serving and there was plenty of sauce provided to dip them in. My lunch companion had one of the pre made focaccia's and was raving about how good it was. Very enjoyable lunch and will be back.
Rob
Coffee has gone down hill since the barista with the dyed red hair left. Never been a big fan of the food. Standard cafe fare. Highly priced for what it is. The fact it's the best on Were Street and the locals flock there with the Montmorency "local village" feel will ensure the register keeps ticking over
Traveller123890
Been here on a monday with 2 friends, we loved it! Nice portions, prices were more than affordable and the little courtyard at the back it's perfect for a sunny day!
We will definitely come back
Oni San
My vegetarian and I stopped in at 3094 for a quick beverage and macaron on the way home from visiting family. We've heard a lot about this modern, hip Cafe in Montmorency, and as we're soon to move away from the area we thought we'd give it a go. It always seems packed on the weekend, not a bad feat for a shopping strip Cafe in a suburb that you only visit when you're going there. The problem is though, I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. There's a lot of fuss, and I mean a LOT of fuss about the place in the local area. The staff are pleasant, if cool and quite non committal about their work, the macarons were large but somewhat flavourless, and the drinks... Meh. I mean, as a former barista, I could probably have done better myself, and I've been out from behind the machine for over a decade.

The menu is short and sounds good, but lacks depth in favour of trend and the whole place just seems a little sterile. It might be the psychiatric institute tiling on the walls, or the clean and uncluttered tables, but it just seems a little clinical, without the specificity of being clinical for a reason.

Go, see for yourself. I'll be having breakfast to give it a more thorough workout but so far I'm not sure what the raving is for. 3 on first blush... More to come.
Had a late breakfast at this cafe and it was up there with my best breakfast ever! I had the Bella real fast which was just amazing and fresh. Coffee was strong and made exactly how I like it. I'd highly recommend this place and think I've found my local breakfast joint!
Jodie
Friendly, bustling but not too noisy for conversations, just the way I like it.

I had a special on this occasion, a southern chicken brioche bun with coleslaw and these wonderful corn cobettes on the side. Very tasty, only downside was a third of my bin was burnt. A minor complaint, given how yum the rest of it was. I also tried the mango and orange smoothie - delish, but could have done with a bit of mint or ginger.

Will go back next time and try the coffee, and yes there will definitely be a next time!

Plenty of room and a variety of seating styles, from stools to chairs with partial sides. Outdoor area would be fine for disability access, but indoors you need to go up a step to reach the main dining space.
LEG
Lived in the area for many years and used to come to espresso often, however after the extension the place has become extremely busy. This means long wait for food and coffee (15min wait for TA coffee some days) and the staff look over-worked and tired. Coffee used to be the best on the street but now is often rushed, burnt or sour. Very disappointing. Would not recommend
Cameron Hill
Nice strong coffee! Yum! Aint no warm milk getting surved out of here! 9/10 for the barista! Grabbed a protein ball on the go! Now that was a treat. Coco slash coconut slash rasiny taste. Nice and moist. Nice spot!
Waxman Nicholas
This is a simple, easy breakfast place that's breaking no rules and playing it safe. The food is good and the service is outstanding. I've had dozens of meals there and I've been very happy every time.

with the new spring/summer menu now on offer and the introduction of wines, beers, and ciders it seems there is a lot of exciting times ahead for this cafe, run by industry inspired proffessionals who take pride in providing the best of service one can adhere to the "what more can we do"attitude present at espresso 3094,all the best guys see you again soon
Jim Missailidis
Nice fit out guys for the area but coffee does not compliment the fit out!
No free pouring coffee it's done with a spoon move with the times guys hire a pro!
My late was burnt bubbly & terrible maybe the younger guy loading coffee should do the milk & the older man with glasses should load play to your strengths guys!
Front of house all ok displays great clean & presents well
But the front register a big problem no relief waited for 9 minutes to pay😔
UPDATE May 2019
New beans, Reverence coffee beans $4.10 latte.

UPDATE 3/5/2017 8/10
They have expanded next door, with good reason.
Still good coffee on that strip and patrons seems to be crowding this joint.

Best on that strip to date ....

It's quaintly modernised, simplistically set up, however focused on their food, coffee and service.

Any other suggestions from my fellow foodies?
Shoo Shoo
I find myself coming here on a regular basis because it's the one decent middle ground cafe between a girlfriend and I.

It's not table service, so you can just walk in & sit down where you want to, but then you've gotta jump in the queue to order your food & coffee. There's something about the design of the place that makes it feel a little un-feng shui if there's such a thing, but it has a nice outdoor area and great bar seats at the large windows.

The food is always consistently nice. It's not mind-blowingly delicious, but will always satisfy your hunger needs. This time round, my friend had the house baked beans and I grabbed the French toast. As I got to the front to pay, my eyes drifted towards to cake counter, so I also ordered a scone with cream and jam. Coffee is always nice too. There are not too many fantastic cafes in the area, so this one is clearly a favourite amongst locals.
Visited this cafe and my Experience was nothing short of satisfying! Great atmosphere , great food and great service! My girlfriends are we're very pleased with the food and the service was a highlight.

Always had great coffee and breakfast here. Have been maybe 6 or 7 times and am keen to keep returning. The baked beans are awesome although the brioche is a slightly weird addition to this dish, a little too sweet for my liking. I'd recommend getting it with sour dough instead. The fritters are super tasty as well. Coffee has always been excellent.
Tim
Very busy place, under 30's would call it vibrant, over 40's call it noisy.
Either way we chose to sit outside in 9degree cold than sit amongst the noisy indoor throng.
Went at 12 noon for an all day breakfast, had a hankering for Eggs Benedict.....and now I know what the term breakfast all day means....it's the waiting time from order to eat...50 minutes!!!!....
In the meantime we at least enjoyed the warm orange juice and the cold coffee (perhaps around the other way would have been nice)..
When the waiter woke us up for our meal we discovered the wait wasn't due to cooking time or preparation, the food was COLD and had just been waiting around for someone to notice it was ready.
Can't really tell how good the food could have been if remotely warm, so all in all no real rush to come back. I suggest the place is better than this given the number of people, but based on what we were given, as Queen so succinctly put it.."another one bites the dust"....
Renee Sacco
I went here with one of my girlfriends for lunch and ordered the tandoori chicken. On the menu it read as if it was served Indian style, with naan bread on the side in which you can dip into the dish, however it was served as a wrap, which was disappointing. I would not order that dish again
Trosho
Best cafe in Monty and surrounding suburbs. Great coffee, great staff, nice ambience and good food. Always impressed with how quickly orders come out, even when it's busy.
Simone David
A lovely local and dog friendly cafe! My little pooch absolutely loves sitting in the courtyard. Coffee is always perfect, and the eggs with avocado is delish. Can't wait to go back again!

The perfect place for brunch on a Saturday or Sunday morning if you are living in the North-East. I normally order either the Smashed Avocado or the Multi Bella which are breakfast dishes based on poached eggs, crusty bread and various other ingredients. The coffee can be a little inconsistent at times however the food is always of top quality and the eggs are always perfect with the yolk exploding as you cut into them. Highly recommend.
Rhys DeRee
Got the Big Breakfast as you can see. Was happy with the size except I think 1 ( quite small ) piece of toast to two eggs wasn't enough, I could of added a slice but I didn't think I needed to. Also had the Choc Malt Thickshake with soy milk and it was also delicious and big. All in all was a good breakfast and a good price.
Moo
I love this place! It's always packed and you get great service every time. I usually order the banana smoothie, because they swap a few ingredients for me to make it healthy. I also like their coffee, which is always good and consistent.

I had good memories of this place after discovering it one day when visiting my parents. I came today and they seem to have expanded to take over the little oxfam type shop that was next door. First impression was- the staff seemed stressed, curt and overburdened. Both inside rooms were quite full- I don't know it seemed just a little like they had bitten off more tables than they could chew. So I ordered just a pie- hoping it would come out quick, and it did. It was nice- big chunks of steak- tasty but affordably cheap at $4.8. No side salad or garnish, just normal tomato sauce (no chutney). I suppose if you're wanting something cooked from a kitchen, in the North west suburbs there is NOT a lot to choose from, so it seems to be doing well with that aspect (even though I didn't opt for a kitchen meal today). However if you want to have a dining experience that's a step up from a noisy, bell ringing, staff shouting cafeteria, then 3094 has a little way to go. That said, the guy with the glasses was really great with the service and brought me water and was genuinely lovely...

In conclusion: Not sure about 3094. it's got the goods, the location and the decor- but it's a bit of a frenetic experience inside. They need to have more staff coordination that's more like a ballet- silent and swift- rather than a noisy rodeo.

Will try again though for a proper meal and coffee 👍🏼

I always love coming here! Usually I get a burger and they never disappoint! The staff is lovely and never had a bad experience. I love the outside area, it's perfect on a nice and sunny day. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone!
Meg
delicious home cooked food, and excellent coffee and cake selection!! Always buzzing with customers, there's a great courtyard attached which is great for taking your kids as they can scream and cry as much as they please out there! the staff are very friendly and always willing to give you the best service possible.

Enjoyed lunch here today. Service was good. Food was delicious. We had the chicken burger, open steak sandwich, wheat berry and fig salad and a jam donut. Highly recommended. Great local cafe. Will be back. Coffee was very good also.
Michael
Great Cafe. Milkshakes are great and the home made donuts are also top shelf. Some items fractionally overpriced, however the quality deserves is!
Anthony
This is a busy vibrant cafe that we really enjoy going to. The selection of food and desserts is great, as is the coffee. Recommended for a relaxing weekend out in the Minty area.
Mumma Bear And Baby Bear.
Despite their coffee not being to my tasting the food is bloody delicious as are their freshly squeezed juices. When it gets busy it's a bit too hectic for my liking, but off peek times it's my favourite place for food in Monty 🍴 for coffee I do prefer the general food store though.
Noz
I come here at least once a week. It just doesn't disappoint. Great for kids- the courtyard is mostly contained and the babycinos come with all the trimmings!

Had a great breakfast, good coffees. Would definitely return however some of the servings were slightly lacking. I would certainly recommend the O Canada breakfast, as it offers a delicious meal for the price.

Almost definitely the best cafe/brunch spot in the Montmorency area. Great menu, fantastic food and coffee. The outdoor area is superb when it's good weather, but there's an indoor area too

Menu is good for lunch. The meatballs are nice with a rich sauce. Good coffee and juices. Friendly staff. Nice new decor. I'm sure I will be back.

This cute cafe is our go to place on the weekends for Brunch! I always get the 'Avo Smash' and they nail it every time. The Coffee and cakes are also great and worth leaving room for.

Best cafe on Were Street, with a lovely outdoor space for the kids. Manages keep the Monty vibe.
Standard cafe fare and coffee, fabulous service though

Friendly Suburban Gem.... But The Strangest Thing.

For some reason the coffee when dining in is an entirely different experience to when you get a takeaway coffee. I don't know whether it is the brand of the cups they are sourcing but the takeaway coffee has tasted entirely different (terrible) to the coffee when you have it in the shop from the glass. Just something to think about. I was in two minds between giving this a 3.5 or a 4 (a reason i don't like the new rating system).

I ended up going with a 4 as i reckon their customer service gets them over the line.....

Pros:
-Great coffee dine in
-Excellent Service and friendly staff
-Food is always on point

Cons:
-Inside space gets terribly noisy and chaotic (you cant relax)
-Outside is a good layout but they have a wasp problem
-Take away coffee tastes strangely worse for some reason

Ordered a single serve cheesecake, it was off!! Tasted like it was sitting in the cabinet for days, and I got very sick food poisoning for it. Will never go back

"Ask us about our Allergy Free Treats". We did. It was clearly an inconvenience to the waitress to explain what flavours each of the treats were. Then asked if one of the treats was gluten free, the waitress said "yes, they're allergy free". Please be more specific. Gluten free, lactose free, fructose free etc??? Didn't want to inconvenience her any further so didn't get anything.

Awesome place! It's our local and we find it hard to go anywhere else. Every single team member is friendly and provide awesome service, coffee is terrific, food just terrific and home made. Looooove this place

I went here on a Sunday morning and although it was very busy there was great service and the food was delicious. The apple and macadamia muesli was so good I loved it and my boyfriend really enjoyed his O Canada pancakes. The fresh juices were really nice too. Will be coming back again :)

Used to go to another local cafe, have changed to 3094 since the renos. Always good coffee. Haven't tried much of the food yet but even their pre made focaccias are awesome. Only downside is the busyness and sometimes gets too loud.

Finally montmorency has a decent breakfast spot!! loved the coffee and the food. Great menu and atmosphere. Will definitely be a regular!

A chic café tucked away in Monty hides deliciously smooth coffee along with fantastic food and faultless service. A favourite of locals and visitors alike. Recent expansion has doubled the size and during busy times, despite a bit of a wait, the quality is maintained.

Always love the coffee from here in the mornings. Nice, genuine staff. I have tried a few cakes (if you're a fan of desserts, there's a huge cake fridge) - love the home-made jam doughnuts. Breakfast is amazing and so quick!! Love the house beans. Love the chilli scrambled eggs. Love the chai. Thanks for the top service too. Will continue to return here again and again.

Awesome little Cafe. No beating around the bush with this one... great Cafe. Probably the best in the area. Food was good. Was super busy, and our coffee order was misplaced, but when it came out they were great. Coffee was strong and well prepared. Good temp. Great consistency. Staff were A++. We were given complimentary desert for the coffees taking so long which was awesome! I'll be back here regularly.

I would give this cafe a miss!. Although I had heard some positive things about Espresso 3094, I was very disappointed with my espresso experience. The coffee and food were mediocre at best although the young staff were very friendly. It is apparent to me however, that the staff seem to be overworked or understaffed as there was an unacceptable waiting period for food. Staff seem generally tired. Table service is a must for this cafe.

So so. The interior was very cute and roomy, with an adjacent courtyard. We ordered tea, toast and the potato rosti. Toast and tea were as expected though one of the cups was dirty (coffee/hot chocolate??)
The rosti would have received a 10/10 had it been warm when it arrived, unfortunate really as the cold eggs left me feeling a little ill :/

Amazing. I would love to thank the team at 3094. I come here for my weekly coffee and it's always fantastic. You make my 3 year old feel so special and take the time to listen to her put in her order. Miss 3 made 2 off the staff pictures last week and you took the time to thank her for them. Plus the carrot cake is to die for. See you next week :)

Best place around monty!. I don't know where to start! This place is awesome! I had the potato rosti and it was excellent. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious! I always love coming here, oh and the coffee is even better. Keep up the good work guys!

Absolutely loving the new look and especially the new menu!!! Alex and the team are amazing, especially the cakes and sweet makers...the coffee is spot on and the new place has brought such a great vibe to Were St!! Looking forward to my next visit which will be much sooner than later!! Keep up the great work, you guys rock!!!

Horrible!. I used to frequent this place a few years ago when they used Atomica coffee. It has obviously changed since then to a cheaper brand and the taste reflects the price. We waited nearly an hour for our breakfast (they were NOT busy when we ordered) and when it did come out all six meals were cold, except for the baked beans which they had obviously heated in the microwave, they were too hot to eat almost 20 minutes after they come out. Would not return under any circumstance.
Olga_paraskevas
Cold food, terrible coffee. I waited an hour for cold food, missing bacon from my order. Terrible service and was dissappointed that i pre paid my food because I wouldn't have paid for the food I was served.

It's a no no from me. The coffee here is terrible! And there's nothing worse than standing in the queue and the person behind you receives their coffee order before yours. Obvious favouritism is a no no in the service industry. The girl with the gluggy black make up on her eyes may one day learn this.

Having previously been for coffee (which was great) my partner and I decided to go for his birthday breakfast, unfortunately we were left disappointed, our meals weren't bad but they weren't great either. The portions were huge and I'm not convinced that it's all fresh either.

Went there for breakfast and to be honest when I say "I'm not rushing back for the food" is an understatement. You can say the servings are generous, I would call them too big. This cafe should be concentrating on quality not quantity. 2 corn fritters which were huge, a quarter bag of undressed wilted rocket, lemon wedge that looked 2 days old, dry bacon, soggy hash browns... Did not enjoy the food at all. In saying that, the Coffee is very good and the service is pleasant. So will be back for coffee but will be saving my breakfast or brunch days for other cafes.

Sooo disappointing, we have been coming to this cafe for 3 years now and have always enjoyed the environment. Since the expansion the renos look great but obviously the kitchen just can't cope. We along with many others this morning waited over an hour, and l only ordered muesli! After asking how much longer and waiting double that, we left without eating.... Looks like we might be looking for a new cafe for our regular Sunday breakfast.
Farsideoftheearth
Great coffee. No food. Been coming to this cafe for years

Since its expansion, it's very apparent the kitchen aren't handling the extra clientele

Waited and hour for scrambled eggs on toast, after asking multiple times where te food was, was told to expect over 30 min.
After going to check, after 60 min, was informed the kitchen doesn't have my order.

If they are losing tickets and taking over an hour food, something is wrong.

Give this place a miss now.

FANTASTIC CAFE. Tried this cafe for the first time for a birthday get together and was so impressed.
Such a gorgeous looking little cafe with excellent facilities, outdoor area was a big hit with the girls. Food was absolutely delicious, great prices and service was spot on........such a friendly bunch. Will definitely be back!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!

***Well Worth The Hype***. The hype of espresso 3094 is what encouraged my husband and I to try it for the first time this morning and I am proud to say that it has still managed to surprise the both of us. It was reflected in the vast range of quality produce and both friendly & efficient wait staff despite how busy they are. The flow of people through here is amazing and I can see why. The only way to describe the coffee is exceptional. I simply couldn't fault anything today. The interior and exterior adopts a unique modern appearance unlike anything in the area yet still manages to complement the suburb brilliantly. The dining experience will make you feel like you are in Fitzroy. Well done! Jealous I didn’t order what my husband had the hash stack but now I can look forward to it next Sunday.

Nostalgic. Really disappointed with the service since the new renovations. My boyfriend and I always have breakfast each weekend as the food and coffee are equally amazing, however now we have to wait at least 20 minutes for coffee and an hour for food. It seems that there is just not enough staff on the floor, and the facilities cannot keep up with the demand. We have been three times now and are hoping this is just a teething issue - we don't want to find a new local as the coffee and food is still delicious!

Food good, service not so great. The food is great but the staff seem to really only care for the regular customers. There was no greeting when we arrived, we had to find menus ourselves and no greeting when we left. This is all fine in an establishment, but it was really highlighted to us because staff went above and beyond for regulars but gave nothing to us. Didn't have the homely/welcoming feel I was expecting. Will try and find another local.

Morning coffee and lunch here a few times a week.. Can't go past the friendly service you get from the crew

Great good at an affordable price! Friendly staff with fantastic coffee. Spot on!!

Where to be ....in Were St. This place has just grown in leaps and bounds over the last couple years. The food is always good. the coffee is probably the best in the street, but not the best overall, switch the beans ease off on the heat a little and you'll have the best. The place is alway busy and rightly so. Good food combinations and cakes done right. Now that they're super busy and doing well, I hope they don't cut quality like so many places do once they get popular. If you haven't eaten here, then you should.
