Review Moom Asian Cuisine - Mooloolaba

We had dinner here in early March 2022. Noise level was relatively low, so it was easy to carry on a conversation. The food was good. (Hint: if you order a sizzling dish, the ingredients will be added at the table. This is a less usual and neat touch, but does mean you need to be prepared for a heavier than usual shower of oil, etc.). Service was average.

Went here as it was near our hotel, and for a restaurant that caters for a few different asian cuisines, so never quite sure how good it will be, the food was pretty good. Definately recommended.

Had a lovely meal here on Wednesday evening as we walked past, knowing nothing about the restaurant. It was so tasty we booked to come back on the Sunday evening. We were not disappointed and enjoyed trying different dishes. The staff were lovely coping with big tables, takeaway orders and some rude customers. Would definitely recommend for taste and value and service.

Was intrigued to try due to some of the very amazing reviews on Google. Indeed the food was lovely but serving sizes were small for the price, we did leave hungry. Lovely place but the whole experience was let down by the staff - not one smile, it was obvious the staff did not want to be there. When ordering one girl just walked away mid sentence when we had finished saying what we wanted. One of the servers just came with the main and literally plopped it on the table with a splash & walked away. It was like we had upset them but we are low key, passive and smiley people.

We had a meal here this evening. The noise level was terrible due to a family group having a gathering. The food was beautiful. Red curry with prawns and crispy pork with cashews. The service however was atrocious. I know the staff were young but it is strange to be asked "what can I help you with?" When you walk into a restaurant. We had book and the one lovely reserved table went unused even though we checked twice if that happened to be ours. We had to walk up to the counter and asked to be served. The 4 young staff stood around talking and there was no offer of dessert or tea or coffee. We actually had to call out to get our bill . They have probably never been mentored in customer service but a lot more attention would result in upselling and a tip at the end of the night. Customers don't want to see 4 staff standing around for atleast 30 minutes chatting to each other.

A great variety of Asian food, with great flavours and a fairly diverse menu. Tried to go again but were closed on the second night. Good friendly service, and quick supply of food. I will be back.

The food was beautiful!! I would have given 5 stars, but the service was terrible. The sour attitude from our waitress, ruined the experience..... we were seated, no offer for drinks, waited 15 mins for her to return, to take our order, we ordered our entrees and she walked away... no drinks were taken or main meals. A different waitress came back 5mins later, to ask for our drinks and main meals.... 25mins before anyone had a drink. Not one staff member smiled the whole time. I mentioned my experience to a colleague today and she expressed her poor service experience at Moom. What a shame, to have amazing food and decor ruined by staff who would rather be anywhere but at work

We ordered Massaman Lamb Shank and Pad See Ew. The noodles were tasty but the shank was disgusting. It had a thick skin and the meat was underdone despite the menu claiming it had been cooked for six hours. We complained to the waitress who said she would talk to chef but nothing happened and subsequently we were charged the full amount for a sub-standard meal. We will not be back or recommend MOOM to anyone else.
