The best tasting curry in Queensland, Probably the whole of Australia. Every time I have eaten in the restaurant, or ordered take away, the service has been fast and the staff friendly, helpful and attentive. Good Job, 5/5.

Doesn’t matter you book the table or not we booked online at 12:30 For 5 pm our table was the first one to be serve!! We are running our place and dealing with same situation every day!! Not happy took them 1 hour 20 minutes to bring main course!! The staff was amazing one lady was so polite to handle the situation but not the kitchen how stupid is it to serve all the takeaways and other tables who came after us! And I also had a 10 month old who doesn’t want to seat and was not happy!! However, nothing impressed accept one staff lady!! Food was ok ok not happy!! Dosa was not crispy it was soggy!! Chilly naan was not hot at all it was more about the look red paste on naan look like it will hot but nope!! first time I felt I should not dine in with my 10 month old!! I have been dine in many places with her! But doesn’t feel until she gets 2! I don’t think I will be back to this place!! I am a restaurant owner too!!! Simple basic thing booked dine in table is a priority and you balance your timings with takeaway accordingly first in and first out with dine in tables!

Hathi is definite favourite and usual go to on a cold winters evening. The naan bread is fabulous and I'm a fan of the hot butter chicken. You won't be disappointed 👍🙂

Disappointed with the service provided. Had to leave table and go to the waiting staff who were hanging by the reception to order extra naan & yoghurt. After serving all the dishes no staff member came to check if everything was okay with our meal. The goat vindaloo was so heavy with red chillies that no other flavours were coming through. Asked a staff if anything could be done but told no. The naan bread was also very chewy & the garlic naan was without any garlic flavour. At the till the cashier asked if all was good with the food and when I told him about the vindaloo curry all he responded with was that it was vindaloo.

The staff are very good. It’s some dishes with Indian names. I think the owner and the employees of the restaurant never eat there lol that’s how tasteless it is. Not worth your money and time. To all those who eat here “THIS IS NOT HOW INDIAN FOOD TASTES” People who just want to fill up their stomach without wanting to know the real taste of Indian food can eat here

Lovely lady served me the other day when I ordered take away meal. The kitchen stayed for extra 10 minutes late.

Excellent traditional Indian food. Great variety and taste. Didn't wreck the balance and the kids loved it too which was surprising. The female staff were very sweet and helpful. Really enjoyed sitting in the booths with a view.

Avoid. The most bland Indian food ever. Butter Chicken tastes like run of the mill gravy. Bombay beef gristle and tasteless. The nan bread was ok but other than that stay well clear of this place. It's been here a while and I remember many years ago having a decent meal herself. How times have changed.

I've eaten so much Indian cuisine being married to a Punjabi! What I was served was not the Korma that I ordered... It was super sweet and not thick! Mango chicken maybe but the owner defended it! This was the crappiest korma I've ever had!

Just ordered a take away chicken tika masala and a garlic nann. Was the best tika masala I have had (tika masala is my fav and have had many, including in the best curry house in London!) but this was better! Highly recommend!

Waited over 20 minutes to take our order. Food took over 40 minutes to come out. Food was ordinary!

My hubby is from uk and they know there curries and he rated this highly. I had the saag wala and it was fantasic. Would def go back. Best Indian on coast so far, and we've tried a few. Do great lunch deals.

Too intense for our liking. We'd been snacking whilst watching the Rugby World Cup but decided to head out for dinner anyway. So the three of us with smaller appetites than usual were seated at Shalimar Indian restaurant. We ordered a butter chicken and lamb vindaloo with one serve of rice and three keema naan. We were promptly told by the waitress that this was not enough food, so I had to explain our situation. The reason we decided to come here is that on our walkings around Mooloolaba the smell of spices and indian cuisine wafting out of this restaurant was mouthwatering. In the case of both curries the sauce had been over reduced down and had the intensity of a curry paste, some people may like this but I found it made my mouth itchy. The Keema Naan (stuffed indian bread with lamb mince) on the other hand was fantastic and one of our party proclaimed it to be the best Keema Naan they have ever had. The two curries with sides were more than enough for three people with medium appetites.
