Review Saltwater Bistro - Mooloolaba

To begin our time there we felt that we were an inconvenience to the only staff member having a cigarette break across the road. As we were leaving he came back to serve us. After we ordered he was quick in preparing the food. Lots of great places to eat around the shop. The fish was alright, chips pretty good, but surprisingly great tartar sauce. My partner ordered the barramundi which came in an extremely underwhelming portion. Will not be returning, instead seeking something better.

Came here for a quick lunch to the Bistro section as we are drawn in to the simplicity and elegance of the space. The food was a perfect match! We had the melt-in-your-mouth crumbed calamari, the exotic chargrilled local prawns with Israeli couscous done perfectly and refreshingly, local fish ceviche treated with the delicacy and respect it deserves and some SA mussels which were great but lacked the punchy tomato-garlicky flavour I was craving today. Service was great, drinks well-suited to the weather and the crusty warm bread with good quality olive oil was a nice touch. Tracey Chapman playing in the background helped build the ambience too...I am a fan 😀. We finished a perfect meal with a perfectly cooked Creme Catalina, served with a fig jam I think and a scoop of cooling berry ice cream.

Best fish burger & chicken burger I have ever had. Chips & calamari are also great - very crispy.

Crumbed fish, fantastic. Crunchy chips, fantastic. Calamari, fantastic. Potato scallops, fantastic. Great location, cheap for a family of 5. Good spot to bring little kids.

2nd visit and first was just as opened. Food was wonderful and definitely recommend. Takeaway available a good alternative

Our new favourite fish n chipper at Mooloolaba!! We have been coming to Mooloolaba for years and kept trying the seafood shops at the spit with varying results. Small, soggy, dry, gluey. But this fish and chipper is also run by the Rice Boi group so the quality speaks for itself. We had the two piece pack. The fish was large, thick and moist and well cooked. The chips were crinkle cut and also well cooked. Great price and great service.

Extremely windy afternoon. Staff suggested we sit in an area not protected from the wind, and our food and glasses kept blowing around and tipping over - we almost lost all our oysters, and had to pick the off the table.

Not the best. We ordered Grilled Snapper, calamari and chips. The calamari was pretty good, the chips were a smaller than usual portion and the snapper was undersized and overcooked. I can't knock the service, everyone was friendly
