Our fav favFAV! The food here is beyond fresh and scrumptious. What makes it even better are the staff- especially Yeon who we have come to know and is ALWAYS exceptional. When you turn up and they remember the bottle of wine you have- excellent customer service. Proud to have this restaurant in our hood- Moonee Ponds
Amazing food with incredible presentation! It is so tasty and special! My favourite is the entree and ice-cream! Absolutely love the cozy ambiance of the restaurant and excellent service! Yo(the waitress) delivered best customer service! We had a great night for my friend's birthday! We ordered both banquets! Definitely will come back
Best Japanese food I've had in a while .. wow .. so fresh , tasty and the service is great , friendly and helpful
Really yummy food, and the best staff. So friendly and accommodating to my kids. Will def be back.
The yummiest food!! Love going for a delicious fresh meal
Best Japanese restaurant in Melbourne by far always love coming here better than most restaurants in Japan aswel
Best Japanese food I have ever had. Even better than some of the restaurant in Japan
Never disappointed!! Great food and best dessert ever!!
Delicious! The Spider roll is fantastic! So is the Unagi and Karaage.
DELICIOUS!!! Great staff and service and already planned to go again next weekend. Ordered the banquet and the serving are very generous.
Im a regular here...love the food..great service.
A gem in Moonee Ponds including the friendly staff.
Fantastic food and even better service...highly recommended
Totally addicted! Never had a bad meal here!!! Very very DELICIOUS
Excellent food and very nice environment and friendly
Superb food! Excellent service! Nice and friendly staff!
Shout out to April, Julie and the whole crew at Yokoso!! You guys are the BEST!!! Another wonderful evening. The food is amazing :)
Food and atmosphere was amazing.
The only issue was the spicy tuna sushi roll just covered in sriracha, I usually love spicy tuna but this was just too much of one taste.
Aside from that every thing else was great, really good, great ageadashi tofu.
I had an amazing experience with Yokoso Izakaya. The waitresses were really attentive. Whenever out plates were empty, they would clean up and ask how our dishes were. Instead of ordering mains, we just ordered entree’s to share. Everything was delicious. My favourite was the Gyoza 😍
Every visit over some years has been consistently very good. Very high quality; freshly cooked and always heavily booked. Most nights are 6 or 8 pm bookings. Well worth booking as many are turned away. You are greeted by staff as you enter. A small but good and reasonably priced wine list or you can BYO for $10 per bottle.
We started with pork gyoza which arrived quickly and perfectly cooked; melted in your mouth.
We then had the Marinated grilled king fish marinated in sweet miso sauce as a shared entree. Excellent.
We shared the crab seafood rolls which are beautifully presented and stuffed with seafood.
For the main, we shared the large sushi which has incredibly fresh seafood. The soba noodle salad was a nice way to finish off a well balanced seafood oriented meal.
Great quality and great atmosphere; highly recommend and we shall return soon.
Delicious sushi in a truly authentic Japanese restaurant- what more could you possibly want?!
Entering Yokoso Izakaya, you will immediately be greeted by a plethora of renowned Japanese welcome, as smiles and pleasantries are exchanged as you are lead to your table. You will notice an ambience that is rustic yet modern, a bar bearing views of the kitchen hard at work whilst the lights are set to a warm date-like initiation. Today we decided to order two serves of the double salmon, a spicy tuna and spider roll.
The food came exceptionally quick, and was devoured even quicker. The spicy tuna is fresh as ever, laced with some sriracha sauce to add a tinge of spice. The spider roll is warm with freshness, a crunch that is soft and tasty all the same. And finally the double salmon. Thick, belly like pieces of salmon oozing with delight in your mouth- making for a wonderful dinner indeed.
Although portions are small considering you receive 4 pieces, we would advise ordering more if you wish to eat until you are full. Reasonable pricing for the sheer quality you get, attached with great service and ambience make it for a delightful Japanese dinner. We recommend this spot and it is not hard to see why it is so popular!

Yokoso is a Moonee Ponds neighbourhood gem. Many customers are addressed by name. We have been here a number of times over the last few years and every time we have been impressed with the quality of the food and service. There is a 6 and 8pm sitting. It is wise to book as we have often seen people disappointed as it’s regularly booked out.
The moment you walk in, there is a warm welcome of ‘Hajimemashite’ from the wait and kitchen staff.
It is a step above ‘ordinary’ Japanese food with the usual fare and some unusual dishes.
We had the Gyoza pork dumplings; ‘golden morsels’ which melted in your mouth.
We love the Yokoso King Crab Rolls which are pieces of crab rolled with avocado, carrot, daikon and mayo; a fresh and colourful dish.
We then shared the large sushi platter ( $35); perhaps not as large as some restaurants but outstanding quality.
For dessert, we shared the citrus based pannacotta, decorated with a few strawberries; it cleanses the palate and so a lovely way to finish the meal.
We ate an interesting, well balanced meal.
There is a small wine menu which is reasonably priced or you can BYO for $10 per bottle.
Highly recommend for groups of 2 to 10; we’ll be back.
I loved the yokoso experience. I have a very fussy partner and our lovely waitress went out of our way to follow up menu adjustments with the chef. The chef/kitchen had no issue altering the calamari to remove the chilli and adjusting the sashimi dish. Thanks yokoso for being so accommodating and for the delicious food. Look forward to coming back. Your service was definitely above and beyond. I only wish I had known our waitresses name to mention her! I was there in February /early March for a Saturday night. The place was packed but it was still fabulous. 😁
One word can be described; Amazing!
All the staff is very helpful and outstanding with decent, well valued food.
I am so happy to that the restaurant is in local.
Definitely be back soon!
This is a local favourite and tonight we were here to celebrate the small person’s birthday who had a hankering for sushi. The chef kindly made him his favourite avocado hand roll. It was packed out but we weren’t made to feel hurried. A very pleasant meal indeed.
A girlfriend and I ate here last night, Yokoso Izakaya is a nice quaint restaurant with attentive and friendly service.
A nice refreshing beer went down nice along with some of the dishes we ordered, some better than others. The wagu beef tataki was outstanding, the garlic chips adding to the flavours all round. The vegetarian dumplings weren't really to my liking, they were quite boring and the filling did not compliment the dish at all. The chicken yaki tori skewers were lovely, the sauce more runnier than I've had before but still nice nevertheless. For main we had the chili ebi prawn, the prawns were nice and there were plenty there, the sauce had a great chilli punch but I wasn't a fan of all the onion and capsicum in the dish.
All in all a nice restaurant that I'd happily come back to.
This is a great local Japanese restaurant. We tried a lot of different things in the banquet. Everything was delicious. The service is great, very attentive and friendly, but the food did come out a little fast and we had to ask them to slow down a little. They did slow down which was good. Other than that very slight hiccup, it was a lovely night. Casual but very nice atmosphere. Very fresh and tasty food. Good wines and ambiance. Well worth a visit for a casual, tasty meal.
I’m going to be honest. When I saw the photos. I had somewhat low expectations. When I looked at the furniture in the photos, I wasn’t impressed. I thought the chairs and everything was going to be wooden, which will make for uncomfortable sitting. The images fed me the notion that if the look of the restaurant was substandard, then what’s the quality of the food is like. If that’s poor then the overall experience would’ve been unenjoyable. I was booking this for myself and 8 other people, so I was quite nervous.
I can gladly announce that I was proven wrong.
The experience was far from bad. From the looks of things, it seems that everyone here enjoyed their time. Conversation was a plenty. The customer service was excellent. They say that patience is a virtue but in the hospitality industry, it’s an asset and that’s one of the things that I loved about the restaurant. Also, they were quite friendly and considerate, which made the time spent there all the most pleasant.
I ordered the chicken curry with udon noodles. Some people bought the same dish but with chose either the Udon node or rice variant. I think it is the go-to choice around here. I don’t know about the others, but I thought food was really good. It was really well done. The balance was nice: it was as I expected of curry-based dishes. The spiciness was the right amount - not too much that it made your eyes water and nose runs like a tap. It was excellent. Other people told me afterwards that the food was also great
For a Japanese store in Moonee Ponds, That was fantastic. I will come here again next time I’m around.
Thanks again for the food and experience
Would I return? I have multiple times. I live locally however even if I didn’t I would because it is that good.
This is a little Japanese Restaurant in the heart of Moonee Ponds. It has a warm and cosy atmosphere with authentic Japanese décor. It is small and always busy so I would recommend booking in advance. All of this makes it perfect for a date or catching up with a small group of friends.
The meu here is extensive and there should be something to suit everyone. As I said, I have eaten here many times and have never had a bad dish/meal yet. On this occasion, as all occasions, we ordered many dishes. Japanese dishes are traditionally not large and are made to share. Tori Kara, Pork Gyoza, Okonomiyaki, Ika Miso and Chicken Teriyaki. The Tori Kara is Japanese Fried Chicken essentially and after you have this, you wont want to return to KFC. There Pork Gyoza is pretty standard along with their Okonomiyaki. The Ika Miso, which on this occasion I had for the first time was a real stand out. It is basically lightly grilled calamari with a chilli miso sauce which is perfectly balanced leaving you wanting more. We finished with the Chicken Teriyaki which is a favourite of ours – simple delish. Make sure you try a Japanese beer or Sake to wash all your food down. If none of the above dishes take your fancy there are plenty more to choose from and they are all delicious.
Service? Excellent, super friendly and efficient
Wrap up: A damn good Japanese restaurant with large variety of dishes and cosy atmosphere.
HOT TIP: Ask the wait staff for their Sake recommendation. Oh, and you can BYO.
The deluxe banquet was delicious and good value and you can BYO! Highly recommend the entree platter. Bit of a mixup when requested room for baby but they made it work.

This place is divine! Thought we’ll drop in and try our luck with no reservations even though it looks full. Had a little of everything. The entree platter set the scene of what’s to come and they don’t disappoint! Yakitori yum! The wagyu beef main just melts in your mouth. Yuzu panacotta and black sesame ice cream to close the deal for the night.
Yokoso Izakaya is one of the only Japanese restaurants in Melbourne that I have found with plenty of non-seafood options on the menu. I have been here around 4 times now and I love the Wagyu beef tataki, grilled Wagyu, homemade dumplings and tori kara.
A really good restaurant. The chicken curry is as good as I’ve eaten anywhere. Have never had a bad dish/meal at this place. Highly recommended.
Went here with my fiancé and we ordered the starter platter x2 and the large sushi platter and both dishes from start to end was really good. With the 3 dishes we got was the perfect amount to get full and quality and taste experience is worth it. This little place is buzzing definitely be back soon.
Loved the chicken teriyaki and the price was okay. The service was great and the restaurant has a warm and cosy atmosphere. Will be coming back 🍚🍚
I had high expectations for this restaurants as this restaurant is highly rated and read many positive reviews
Rating: 3.5 ‘ I wasn’t completely amazed by the food, it wasn’t bad , but wasn’t amazingly great either 😕 My bf and I ordered gyoza, grilled skewers (2 skewers), spider roll , prawn tempura roll. Maybe we were both really hungry, but we weren’t full and felt like the portion was quite small 😩 so we just decided to order another plate of yokoso roll (I swear we’re not big eaters HAHAHA) The service was nice and friendly’ the lady serving us was very nice and refilled our water every now and then
Unfortunately i would not return and check out other places in moone ponds’ (Chiba is still one of my favs 🤤🙏🏻)
We eat at Yokoso on a regular basis and despite moving house a few years ago to Malvern we still make the trip over to Moonee Ponds to enjoy their delicious food! Japanese is our favourite 'dine out' meal and we are yet to find anywhere that can match the dishes at this wonderful restaurant. The service is also great and they are always welcoming. I read a recent review criticising the fact that a waitress was cleaning the front glass door at 5:28pm. Having seen many restaurants with dirty and smeared windows, I congratulate the staff for keeping their restaurant spotless. Yes, it might cost a little more than other restaurants that mass produce their meals or rely on a sushi train to attract customers, however it is well worth it!! I look forward to going there again soon. For those people reading this review, I recommend that you book ahead!

We had been past this restaurant several times and it always looked full so we thought we would give it a try.
Now we understand why......
Fresh food
Great variety
Excellent service
The staff are accommodating to menu changes and the sashimi here is so fresh and delicious
The beef tataki is a must!
Please save room for desert. The best green tea ice cream I have tasted. Also the tempura banana and chocolate springrolls are super yummy!
We will be back
Thank you
Attentive staff, fast paced, fresh and tasty food. The Wagyu balls and tempura prawns are the bomb Make sure you book to avoid disappointment.
Have enjoyed sinner at Yokoso many times always opting for the $55 banquet. All of the dishes are of high quality and with the amount of food you get it’s hard to be disappointed. Great friendly waitstaff and nice decor
Excellent Japanese food. Fresh and tasty food. Professional staff and nice restaurant layout. One of our favourite take away place. Highly recommended.
Food is amazing. The staff are friendly and service is quick. The set banquets are good value and filling. Definitely the best sushi this side of the city.
Have had take away several time. Very yummy food and very polite and kind staff. Will happily return here. Have had tempura veggies and rice.
Had dinner the other night and it was delicious! To begin we had the edamame and miso soup. We then had the small sashimi - the fish was fresh and cut perfectly. Followed by servings of the gyoza and the vegetable gyoza - one small suggestion would be to crisp both sides of the gyoza so that they are oily but other than that they had great flavour. We then had the pork skewers which had a lovely flavour and were well seasoned. For mains we had the teriyaki chicken on rice and the spicy prawn hot plate with rice. These were delicious, well balanced and the right amount of spice. Absolutely loved it and can't wait to go back to try more items on the menu!
An average spot for some Japanese food, the decoration is really lovely with the japan vibe. The food is not bad, the sushi is better than the main dish. The homemade sake is great for the cold weather. The price is ok, not too high for its quality. Service is not bad and quick.

Took my girlfriend here for our anniversary dinner and it was a good choice, we got the entrée platter which is definitely a must. Great value and the variety is fantastic. Big fan of the Wagyu beef balls and gyozas. The spider hand rolls were perfect too. The teriyaki chicken on rice was good. The tempura banana for dessert was a top choice too. Really no problems at all. Left very happy and the service was also great. Would highly recommend and can't wait to go back.
Had a Friday evening catch up dinner with my friend Stef in her neighbourhood. We didn't have a reservation so called beforehand and were told we could have a table if we returned it by 7pm. We aimed for that but traffic was not on our side so I called back to let them know we weren't going to make it. The waitress on the phone then advised we could have a table until 7:30pm and then she said 8pm so we decided to press on.
Ordered the teriyaki chicken sushi and wagyu skewers. The wagyu the first time I went here was perfectly cooked, the second time it was slightly over, but still tasted great. The sushi was the highlight, the teriyaki chicken was faultless. The chicken had a slight crisp on the outside and flavour combination was perfect!
Was looking for a Japanese restaurant near us and found this place on the net. Then reviews were impressive so we checked it out, lucky we called to book because its a small-ish restaurant with a very Japanese feel from the time we called to leaving. Food was classic Japanese which is what I love, with my favourites from Yuke (beef tartare), Agadashi Tofu, Nasu Dengaku (eggplant miso), Tempura and Grilled Wagyu Salad. Food was fresh and of a good quality and we will be back!
We ordered a variety of dishes including Gyoza, Okonomiyaki, Chicken Kara, Spider Sushi Rolls and a variety or skewers. All the dishes were good, I especially liked the Okonomiyaki and the Unagi Skewer the best. It is not cheap but I feel the servings should be bigger considering the pricing of the dishes. I would have given this restaurant a 5 if they had bigger servings and the waitresses did not rush you out for the next sitting at 8 p.m.
The food is super delicious. We ordered three different kinds of sushi. All of which were extremely well made. Definitely going back here again.
Blink and you'll miss this place but it's definitely worth stopping in for a delicious Japanese meal. The gyoza was amazing! The soba salad was yum too! I would recommend this place 😊
Yokoso Izakaya makes you feel as if you're dining in luxury without sending you bankrupt. The YOKOSO Deluxe which is $55 per person takes the word 'deluxe' seriously, when the food came out, you know they mean business. My body was ready and my eyes were drooling.
Edamame (boiled soy beans lightly seasoned with salt) and Miso soup (with dashi broth) came out first and the presentation for a simple dish set the tone for the rest of the menu. It was cosy, fluffy and warm, perfect for a winter's night in Melbourne. The Entrée Platter was next and this is why they call this deluxe. Set on a beautifully arranged plate was fresh oyster kaki, seared tuna tataki, pork gyoza, prawn ebi tempura, chicken tor kara and crispy wagyu beef ball. Phew, now this selection of food was sumptuous and full of flavour, the seared tuna tataki was amazing. The Yaki Charcoal Grill on skewers came out next which had wagyu beef, unagi eel (not a fan) and kinoko mushroom. They really know how to cook wagyu beef!
Wait, there's more! The sushi and sashimi was next (3 pieces of sashimi, 3 pieces of nigiri and 2 pieces of king crab yokoso rolls) and I thought I had died and went to heaven when this sat beside my jaw that had dropped. This was perfect, food orgasm. The main came out and we picked the wagyu beef because the whole time smaller portions of wagyu beef was tempting our fancy, we thought it was a sign and got it as a main to share. It didn't disappoint, it was meant to be. Dessert was next which was chocolate spring roll with green tea ice-cream, it's a nice dessert, but it didn't have the deluxe feel compared to the rest of the set menu, I felt it was a missed opportunity to end with an exclamation mark to set an example for every deluxe set menu out there, it's dessert after all, be a little fancy!
The excellent service complimented the amazing YOKOSO Deluxe menu with a hilarious waitress whom had a wealth of knowledge on which sake to have. It was my first time having sake (it seemed as though it was in a never-ending bottle) which was served warm, thanks to the advice of my wonderful partner.
The ambience and décor is great and my girlfriend still hasn't given up on teaching me on how to use chopsticks. One day I promise to keep coming back to this place to train my chopsticks skills to be as awesome as her.
Oh, I almost forgot, you need to try this place!
Absolutely beautiful and authentic Japanese food! The Okonomiyaki was cooked to perfection and the sushi was very fresh and flavourful. I had the Unagi Don for the main and it was amazing in every way. The panna cotta was beautiful as well!
The staff were very polite and attentive all night. Great moody atmosphere!
I have been coming to Yokoso for a few years now. The staff are very friendly and the food is very tasty and fresh. You can tell they use only quality ingredients. Their Nasu Dengaku is never far from my thoughts. Highly recommend.
Very busy. Staff are very pleasant accomodating & attentative. We had the banquet. Everything was beautifully presented & full of flavor. The grill fish & meat skewer (sorry i have forgotten the dish name) was abit dry for my personal liking. Apart from that was a lovely experience. Thank you.
Tasty fresh flavors that never disappoints. Been here numerous time and always greeted with a lovely smile.
Definitely recommend and look forward to my next visit
What a great little place! The seared tuna tapas was an absolute highlight; I could have ordered another one! Service was snappy and friendly, with our dishes arriving very quickly (teriyaki main a bit slower). Booking essential.
Perfect and excellent service with delicious food. Unagi don is a MUST try so as the entree plate. Salmon sashimi is also top-class. Fantastic and beautiful experience for our anniversary celebra
Delicious Japanese food! Awesome!!!!!!!!! Reasonably priced and nice staff. The sashimi is good and the edamame is yum. Love the variety of dishes on offer! Be sure to make a reservation because they are really always packed
I love this place. I've been going to Chiba (which is also fantastic) but this place is just a little bit better. The service is incredibly friendly and the food was delicious. The sashimi is melt-in-your-mouth fresh. The edemame is probably one of the best we've had.
I can't wait to go back and try more things on the menu!
This is the best local restaurant you could ask for. Food is always good, fast service and BYO. The seafood quality is great and you never need to worry about freshness. The venue is small so recommend booking. Can get a little crowded when it's a full house, therefore a little loud.
My 3 Key Pointers
• Small Venue (recommend booking)
• Fresh Seafood
• BYO allowed
Lovely and fresh Japanese food. Cosy restaurant which gets full quickly - if you want to eat-in I recommend booking a table. Have also had takeaway from here which is just as good as when you dine in - something that doesn't happen often in my opinion! Extensive menu to choose from and a good wine list. One of the better restaurants in Moonee Ponds!
I love this place! We ate here on a Saturday night without a booking. We arrived at 5.45pm and they were completely booked but sat us at the bar (very accommodating, they could have turned us away). We had a show to get to at 7pm and advised the wait staff. The wait staff were fantastic. Very friendly, attentive and fast! I wish I had got the name of the lovely young lady who served us, as she deserves a special mention. We ordered the banquet and she ensured that we were out in time for our show. The food was the best I've had at a Japanese restaurant in Australia. Everything was fresh, full of flavour and simply amazing. It is a small restaurant and is a little cramped and quite noisy, so if you are looking for a quiet setting, this isn't it. However, I would highly recommend Yokoso to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Moonee Ponds, and it's worth getting the banquet; I'm already planning my next visit! Thank you!
We have been here for four years about once every 2 weeks. Never been disappointed. Great service and really good food. Some of our favourites include sushi platter and entree platter. We have a dietary requirement and they dealt really well with that. We really recommend.
Great service and delicious food. Fresh ingredients and prompt service. A variety of options on their menu to choose from. Great value for money. Definitely will return.
I was so impressed with the flavours and quality of food. Yummy! The banquet was excellent value and the service was beautiful. Small and squishy but I was perfectly fine with it
Great food and service combined. Makes sense why this small but cosy place is busy all the time, even on a weeknight when we dined. Sukiyaki was also good (forgot to take a photo).
Look this place gets busy, a Tuesday night and they kindly squeezed the three of us in. Had the oysters, wagyu sticks - not bad , the tuna tataki was excellent as were the meat wagyu balks and the sauce and mayo was great . The salmon, chicken teriyaki and prawn rolls were good and tasty. Fast and clean service, really fresh food, it's slightly pricey with sone items but good value with others, just have to pick the ones from taste and experience.
First try in Yokoso izakaya, service was impeccable, food came after another without any waiting time. Entree plater was nicely presented with high quality ingredients. Ambient is really cozy, despite being Izakaya, the place is not noisy. Definetely will come back.
I went here for the first time last week and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was lovely with the quaint decorative fish lights. The staff were very friendly and helped with selecting what to eat. I got the double salmon roll and the spicy tuna roll and it was delicious.
Great Service, great food (recommend the Banquet as you get a bit of everything), quick with getting your order to the table, cozy atmosphere, definitely returning
Yokoso is one of my favourite restaurants in the Moonee Valley area. The service is always good, the food comes out quick and tastes amazing. If you're after Japanese this place wont let you down.
Lovely modern take on traditional Japanese. The skewers are the items to order here, and if you don't normally order eggplant the eggplant starter in miso is great start. Wagu beef tatiki is a must as well!
Really good quality Japanese. Each time I go I try something new and love it. This place is a good choice for a relaxed and delicious dinner
This place is just amazing!!! I started coming here two years ago and now I'm a regular, even though I live in the eastern suburbs. I've pretty much tried all of their tapas except oysters since i don't eat them; and they're just simply amazing. Especially the wagyu tataki, wagyu beef balls, ebitem and the cheese katsu. I personally am not a fan of the okonomiyaki however my sister just loves them and always orders it. As for the sushis, I've tried the standard chicken teriyaki, vege and california roll which are all nice but nothing that special- well at least for me. However the spicy tuna and the double salmon roll is where the magic happens. They were simply beautiful, it was fresh and the spicy sauce goes perfect with the fish. I never ate tuna until I hit this restaurant, and to try raw tuna I was a bit iffy at the beginning however, trust me it will change your life!!! As for the desert I've tried everything and they're all good, however the one that shone brightly was the panacotta. The citrus flavours dampens the rich creamy texture however not too overpowering where you just end with the citrus flavour lingering on your tongue.
We have been here a few times now foods always great and friendly happy staff. My husband is not a fan of Japanese food but loves Yokoso Izakaya
Double salmon roll was delicious and staff were cheerful and friendly, especially aware of toddler-needs (like a plastic instead of glass cup and swapping his high chair so it sat out of the way of passing plates.) Hubby wasn't too impressed with his salmon bowl or the King crab roll, but loved the maguro tataki!
SO GOOD!!!!! been their many times, and it gets better each time. Food is beautiful and delicious LOVE IT!!! Been to many other Japanese restaurants, this is definitely the best I have been to, that is close and affordable Highly recommend it.
Fantastic authentic Japanese cuisine. Notably the Crab (or spider) rolls were great, the gyoza dumplings were a standout! Definitely recommend this place, with a nice Japanese beer to accompany your meal. Dined with five people, and ordered a number of entres, and five was the perfect number.
Found our new favorite Japanese restaurant! All foods was fresh, well presented, taste good! Impressive entree platter, second winner was the dessert green tea pancake w/ sesame ice cream YUMMY!
An enjoyable experience. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the entire vibe of the place was very lovely.
An exceptional display of Modern Japanese cuisine, displaying all the elements of traditional dishes with the flare and creativity to adapt to the Australian palate.
Recommended dishes include the Chicken Karage, to the Beef Tataki. Definitely should try the Yuzu Panna Cotta!
The best Japanese food in the North! Friendly staff and great service even when they're really busy. The waitress who takes most of the takeaway orders is always cheerful. The spicy tuna, spider and double salmon rolls are consistently good - both eating in and takeaway. The gyoza and ebitem are great entree options.
The staff at Yokoso Izakaya were absolutely lovely. The food was amazing. My favorite tonight was the tuna tataki. This was my first time here and I loves it. The food here gives you the ahhhh moment after every bite!
Loved the friendly greeting the minute we walked in the door, our waitress was welcoming and attentive, we had the $45 Yokoso banquet and was delighted with every course - would definitely eat here again 🍣🍤🍜👌💛
My all time favourite japanese restaurant. AMAZING food, FRIENDLY staff, GOOD pricing, GREAT quality. I've had most things on the menu and each time i've been it just never disappoints! I can almost guarantee once you go, you will always be going back. mmmm i'm craving it right now.
Really good fresh Japanese! Friendly stuff and great tastes. Servings are a little small but still worth it! Means you just get to eat more different things!
This restaurant is consistently good. Never disappointed. It is on a pricey side but with the quality of food and service here, I would highly recommended. Food is made fresh and I absolutely love sashimi and sushi here.
This was a great place. The service was good and the food was delicious. The restaurant was full when we were there but there were no delays. I would recommend this place.
I really like this restaurant. I went to this restaurant last week. The staff were very polite. The sashimi and sushi were made from fresh ingredients. The grilled seafood and Wagyu beef were very delicious and food price is not expensive. I definitely go there again. I recommend this place! :)
I have been to Yokoso several times within the last few years and still have high expectations that have always been positively satisfied. I have come to know the staff there who are extremely friendly and accommodating and work tirelessly to meet a high standard of customer service.
The food here is exceptional, fresh an delicious and having tried almost everything on the menu more than once my favorite dishes are still Tori Kara. Sukiyaki and fresh teriyaki chicken sushi which is excellently prepared.
Some customers have issues with the price of dishes however I believe that Yokoso is being compared to cheap Asian restaurants that have poor quality ingredients, dull service and quite frankly poor food in general, this is where Yokoso stands apart and most can't deny this.
I can't fault it and it is well worth the visit.
Love love love this little restaurant. Beautiful food, lovely staff, so welcoming. We stumbled on this place and is fast became our family favourite. We have found all the menu items fantastic, a real step above the standard japanese fair around. The kids particularly love the Wagyu and asparagus skewers.
Very fresh, good quality food. I read an interview with a chef who said the food here is really fresh and it certainly was. We loved the oysters on the shared entree plate and sashimi plate, friendly service, good atmosphere. Bit pricier than some Japanese closer to us, but well worth it. Can be hard to find a park on the street nearby so be prepapred to walk a little bit to get there.
Great place. Delicious food, lovely staff, cozy restaurant- all round great place.
