Came here for a work function and for a very busy Tuesday night was fantastic.
Ordering at the counter all out wines, pizza and the Valley cellar door platter. Great place to graze for the evening and catch up with friends too. A great find in the burbs.

This place is great. Always busy. Nice environment for a more relaxed dinner and drinks. Would be a great "low pressure" first date venue as an alternative to the more formal style quiet dinner. Food and drinks are ordered at the bar. Food brought to the table by waiters and drinks carried back to your table yourself. The share food is delicious. They have vegetarian and non vegetarian charcuterie platters. Both delish. Pizzas very good too. Friendly and helpful service. Tables are a premium, even though there are plenty of them, so early arrival is wise. Can book when you have a group.
Having just had dinner next door at Bekka, my friend and I decided to have a wine here at The Valley Cellar Door. The place was bustling with people having a great time, we were lucky to score a table, sharing with other people.
There is an extensive wine list, the bar is quite nice. I found it strange that I wasn't able to try a little sample of one of the reserve wines, most places will let you try a teeny weeny sip. I went for one of the shriaz and it was really good, very enjoyable. Glad I took the punt!
There is also a massive selection of wine by the bottle to buy too, comes across as a bottle shop slash bar.
This is a great place with a good vibe, I will definitely be back.

Amazing hangout. We had wines and platter. Live music was playing at the time. Just a overall cool place and really want to go back and try more of the food.

Finally made it to this venue with some friends recently. The venue has a lovely relaxed feel to it and staff were friendly.
We shared a couple of their platters and had a few drinks. The meats were of good quality, as were the cheeses and other accompaniments.
Looking forward to coming back soon for a relaxed afternoon drink.

I love the valley cellar door. Perfect for these cold nights or even sit outside during summer. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. We went for a work function here and I love that you can purchase a bottle of wine from their massive selection and drink it on the spot. The pizzas are pretty good!!!!
3.5 Great vibe here, and great place for casual catch-up with friends although can be a little hard to find seating. Pizza was not bad, reserve cheese was delicious, excellent options for beer and wine. Staff were very friendly. Love the concept of byo food as well.
Went here for my old man’s birthday and had a great time. He was on the reds with my sister who are both wine snobs but the staff were still able to make well received recommendations. The rest of us were on the champagne, which is always a good time. We got some pizzas which were thin based deliciousness, the charcuterie and the dips- all great. It’s a cozy little place and by that I mean it was a little too tight... hence the 4 rather than 5 stars. Still a really good spot.
I’d go here every day if I could! AMAZING drinks selection and staff really know their stuff when it comes to the wines. Scrumptious pizzas, excellent cheese boards - everything is super yummy here. It’s a really cozy space, great live music sometimes and a great vibe.
Been going here for years!! Great knowledgeable staff, excellent selection of wine and beer and delicious small pizzas available. You can also byo food here if you’re in the mood for something different.
The Valley Cellar Door has a lot to be proud of. Aside from their vast selection of wine and drinks, you should indulge yourselves with their meat platter and chili pizza. Take your feet out of the CBD and experience a great Melbourne night out here.

Beautiful selection of wines paired with pizzas, cheese and meat platters in an atmospheric environment. A selection of craft beers and other alcoholic beverages are also served. The beer garden is a must-visit spot in the spring and summer months, as it boasts with simple character and charm. The staff are friendly and very accomodating, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend this spot for late lunch dates or a great night out with friends!

This place is awesome. If you haven't discovered this gem in Moonee Ponds yet then please put it on your to-do list. It's a cute, quaint wine bar that has a super impressive wine list (as you would expect!). It's a perfect place to catch-up for a few (or many) drinks with friends. One of the beautiful things about this place is that you can bring your own food or order takeaway from a nearby restaurant. Amazing! The Valley Cellardoor is a cozy space in Moonee Ponds which has a lot to offer lovers of great wine and beer. Wine is the first passion of owners Tony, Rose, and Mark Pendreich, and in this bottle shop/bar you’ll find a great selection of around 400 wines sourced from local boutique producers.
Best place to go with friends for a drink after work. The wine selections are amazing. So many to chose from and the staff are very educated with wine and willing to help you select. The pizzas are very yummy too. They let you take in your own food if you want to buy something from a local place. I would recommend booking a table if there are a few of you. Enjoy.

What a great place to sit back, chill and catch up with mates. The snacks were moorish and the wines and beers plentiful. Sadly not in my side of the woods or it would definitely be my local!

Absolutely delicious pizzas. We tried 6 - garlic, vegetarian, salicce, prosciutto, blue cheese and meat lovers and they were all exceptionally put together with a nice thin (but not soggy) crust. Great range of beers
Late Friday lunch. Good time to come. Quiet as. Unlike afternoons and evenings when the popularity of this place often leaves you disappointed that you cannot get a table. Fairly cosy most times!

This is one of the wonderful places to be. You can see the crowd always and it is difficult to get a place. The trio dips and pizza are good in taste. They have huge collection of wine and beer as well.

I adore this place. The perfect place for any type of night, be it a party with friends, a casual catch up, family night out or a date. This place is as attractive in its decor, as is its versatility.
Service is friendly and information is readily available as there is a plethora of choices in the drinks department. The food/snack menu is far from extensive however it is perfect for what this places aims for.
The cheese platters have wine matches enabling even an uneducated novice make an informed choice without embarrassment and also not spoil their wine or cheese through poor selection on pairing.
Looking forward to trying the pizzas next time I venture down, they looked and smelled fantastic!
So very lucky to have this place in my local area, it's fast becoming my local, albeit it a number of venues away from my actual local, but it's well worth the effort.
A nice little place, food was decent and love the decor. I was sort of confused about what kind of vibe they were going for, is it a pub? Is it a restaurant? Are they a fancy wine bar? Is it for families? Regardless, we got some pretty good pizzas and the alcohol selection was fabulous. We ordered a potato and leek pizza, a meat lovers pizza and some cabana and cheese. They are apparently a massive fan of chopping boards, not a normal plate in sight! Everything was of a decent standard, nothing truly wow but an enjoyable meal all the same.

Moonee Ponds isn't exactly a foodie or nighttime Mecca in Melbourne, but Valley Cellar door is a good option for anyone in the area looking for a tipple with friends. Quieter on week nights, but often pumping on the weekends.
Good selection of cheese and pizzas (including gluten free - whoop!) and an array of wonderful wines that can be enjoyed in store or taken home.

I'm not a huge wine guy but the beer here is fantastic, something different pouring every time. Oh and being able to byo food is just great!
I wish this was my local. Fabulous atmosphere on a Monday night. Easy drop-in place for an enormous selection of boutique beers or wines by the glass. The snacks are very reasonably priced and delicious. We had a trio of dips then shared the pizza of the month. I could drop in here on my way home from work to unwind, catchup with friends & enjoy a glass of something different every night for a year.
Pizza, cheese, salami, dips, bread, wine.. Heaven!! This place is really cool by day or night and the food always hits the spot. Huge selection of wine and a great atmosphere.

Good casual place with solid knowledge and recommendations on wines. Food is fresh, including the platters and pizzas and tasty. Service and whole experience is unpretentious and right for warm spring and summer evenings.
LOVELY WINE JOINT -- Rustic and inviting, relaxed but vibrant, this wine joint offers a large wine menu (also wine for purchase) and food accompaniments that are destined to be a success. Pizza! I had the blue cheese and prosciutto pizza and it was lovely: thin base, crunchy, full of flavours, not heavy, good sized as well. I had one of their reds on the glass, the blend called "Iberian" and it was top notch. The manager behind the bar was lovely and he was very generous in the filling of my glass, something I always appreciate. The other waiter was matter of fact. Good priced.

Great atmosphere with well heated area out the front, pizzas were delicious and fairly priced. Worked our way down the ales on tap and enjoyed all of them.
Staff very friendly, let us move our reserved table to an outside table straight away with no fuss. If unsure about what beer to have they don't hesitate to let you taste them all.

Another wine, yes please!. Valley Cellardoor is unique. Its very cas, and its atmosphere always finds you wanting another glass. Their wines are delicious and hand selected wines, which is so refreshing compared to many other places with big branded, non local drops. Their beer selection is also huge, and there are good beers on tap. Pizzas are yummy and the cheese platters go so well with the wine! Or you can even order food from next door and it gets brought over. Bottles can also bought there to take home. Note, it also gets quite busy here!
A must for a night out, especially us slightly older more mature crowd. Not full of young drunks. A great atmosphere. You can share a big table with people you gave never met and come away friends. It is becoming a bit of a habit now, but a great habit.

Great. I have been here on a number of occasions and have always loved it. The selection(and Prices) of the beers and wines are fantastic. And the fact that no one will frown upon me if I choose to have a pizza delivered while I enjoy an amazing shiraz is an absolute PLUS.

Friendly Wine Bar. What a great place to have a glass or two of your favorite tipple. Very friendly atmosphere. It has a country pub feel! Wines are reasonably priced and a there is something for everyone, also a good selection of beers and ciders. Tony and Rose do a great job running this wine bar, always friendly, service is top notch and always ready to have a chat. Where else would you want to go for a drink?

Cellar Dweller. From humble beginnings as a retail outlet peddling clean skins, "The Valley Cellar Door" underwent a total make-over around twelve months ago, and emerged as a cozy local wine bar. There's seating for around 40 patrons indoors, along with tables under an awning out front & within a private courtyard at the rear.
The retail aspect still remains, although the assortment of wines has swelled to around 150 by the bottle, and 10 by the glass. There's ample variety, and you can be assured that everything carried is vetted carefully before being added to the range.
The wines are principally priced in the $10 to $30 bracket a bottle, and it's a mere $5 extra per bottle to sit back and partake on site. The wines by the glass are priced between $6 to $8, and a fridge packed with bubbly, boutique beers and a selection of ciders completes the variety.
Patronage has steadily grown in the past twelve months, and the casual venue is becoming popular for after work drinks or simply a spot for locals to enjoy a glass of wine and relax.
There's currently a limited number of 'nibbles' such as cheese platters and olives, however a "BYO Food" policy ensures you won't go hungry.
This place is fantastic! What a great idea! We had some drinks there a weeks ago and brought along out own nibblies. Extremely friendly staff and wide range of products!!! I just loved it! Will definitely be returning!
Great wine bar & fantastic bottle shop. The Valley Cellardoor started out as retail sales only but is now also a very pleasant wine bar too. It has a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. There is a courtyard at the back as well as seating inside and outside at the front. Have spent many Saturday evenings here. The staff are very friendly, pleasant and knowledeable. They still sell wine over the counter and there isn't anything Tony doesn't know about wine. Definitely worth a visit.
solid 4 stars for overall dinner and drinks. the service was friendly and quick 5 stars. the wines were beautiful. however the food menu was a slightly low on variety. There were pizzas, various small bites and cheese boards. no complaints with the quality of the food served. you’re surrounded by very tempting array of bottles of wine available by the bottle! perfect if you’re with a group and up for a couple bottles to share at very reasonable prices. there is a modest range of wines available by the glass. there is indoor and undercover ‘outdoor’ seating. the vibe is relaxed and casual. we’ll be back- for wine and food to graze on- not when we’re feeling like a heavier protein based savoury meal.

Cosy place. Was there for a function and we had the whole beer garden to our selfs. The food that was brought out was amazing. The staff very helpful and happy to be there.

Delicious wine. Good atmosphere and great staff. I only stopped with a friend for a quick wine. The platter I saw go out with cheese n meat etc looked bloody amazing.
The recommended Shiraz was a treat. A local wine that was light and easy to drink so I bought 3 bottles lol.
