Location / Access / Layout: 10/10 Customer Service: 10/10 Speed / Efficiency / Attentiveness : 10/10 Flavour: 10/10 Portion: 10/10 Finished Product: 10/10 Price/s: 10/10 Likely to Return: Probably Overall Experience: 10/10 Rushed in here for a quick breaky before an appointment down the street and was wrapped with how quickly they were able to get the food out without compromising what was being dished up. My eggs were beautifully poached and my coffee had the necessary bite to get me up and about.

This meal "fish of the day" was beautiful. Grilled barramundi with an abundant garden salad, HALF an avocado and a perfect helping of lovely chips. My lunch was so satisfying I didn't even think about coffee. Hopefully I can get back to Puckle Street and eat here again. Great service that was focussed and helpful.

This place is always good I came here about 9 years ago and have been several times since same owners and it's a place you can go to and never be disappointed. They have a great variety of food from chicken , seafood, vegetarian, sweets and you can talk and hear your friends . Not too loud , not too quiet. It's just right. It has a good vibe The coffee is great and they have oat milk now which I love. Just missing Emily she is a sweetheart and gave us great service while we were last there. Well done guys...

This is my first time coming here for lunch. I recevied the warm welcome from the owner and staff. The food is delicious. Especially, the one with english muffin.

Ideally located in vibrant Puckle Street , Moore Ponds, Lil Kitch offers a variety of deliciously prepared food to eat in or take away. Staff are very friendly, offering a very professional service to its clients. A grest place to go to for a Coffee, breakfast, brunch, Lunch or Dinner. Plenty of off street parking available and outside kerb side eating amenities.

Pollo Funghi, fettuccine, beautifully prepared, light and buttery from a young very skilled chief, companioned with one of their delightful wines. 🍷 Nice afternoon. Just so good on a day off to chill. Lil Kitch is Ideal for one and/or with your colleague/friend/partner. Peaceful spot to have that long awaited “Chat” or good friend catch up 👍🤗🥂

This is a good place to have family and friends gathering for breakfast, lunch or tea. Friendly service. Enjoy the coffee and sandwiches. We ordered ham cheese tomato toastie and a smoked salmon focaccia. Portion is Big and delicious. We are happy to come back again.

Best coffee in Moonee Ponds!
As a local, have tried the coffee from most cafes in Moonee Ponds and Lil Kitch always delivers.
Food is wholesome and well prepared.
Jim Parisis
Lovely breakfast menu with good service and great coffee. Kids taken care of with pancakes with generous serving. Was more than with the overall sitting.
Jessica Nguyen
Steak sandwich with fries. Pretty stuff here. Great service!
Down side was the compact seating arrangement.

Came here for round 2 of lunch as the first place we went to told us after sitting down with a coffee that it was a 50min wait on food.
Was quite hungry therefore had tucked in before taking a photo.
Daniel
The chicken focaccia was good, and the coffee was satisfactory. The staff was courteous and the food came out quickly. We will definitely be back.

I am a regular customer at this beautiful cafe. The reason for my constant attendance , is the warm smile of the staff and one of the best eggs benedict that melbourne has to offer and for this reason i will always go back. Thank you for the great sevice and beautiful food . If you are a fan of the eggs benedict give it a go you wii not regret it.

Staff: 3.5/5
Food: 3/5
Decor: 3/5
Price: 3.5/5
Will return? Yes if in the area

Nice quality cafe food and staff, nothing to gripe about but nothing to go wow about. I’d happily return if I was in the area. I had the meatloaf focaccia which was tasty and my partner had the penne amatriciana (sp?) which he didn’t enjoy (I liked it) because he said it tasted too “beefy”.

Went here for lunch today and enjoyed a delicious snitzel focaccia out in the sun with my bestie today...staff were so friendly and the food was amazing including the perfectly hot latte I had too. Will definitely be back here
Wendy
Nice staff, and a warm spot on Puckle Street for locals. The cappuccino I had today was okay, the milk froth texture beautifully, however, the temperature of the milk was a bit under. By contrast, the foods were way above expectation, definitely a price worthy spot on meal. The only drawback was tables are too close, I would like to have more space in between.

I hadn't been here in a long time and visited yesterday for a quick lunch. The warm Cajun chicken salad was yummy with nicely seasoned and spiced pieces of chicken breast, avocado, caramelised onion, cherry tomatoes, spinach leaves and rocket. I also love their freshly squeezed juices as they have all the good fruits and veggies on offer. The turkey focaccia was nice too 👍🏻

Been here a couple of times and it's your standard breakfast / lunch cafe. Good for the basics and has decent service. Nice fresh juice is always a bonus

The place isn't too bad. Nice food, nice people. Had the chicken parma and can't say it was too bad either. The chips were amazing (cooked very well). The schnitzel was a bit small (especially for what I was paying - $20) and a tad over cooked. The place was also very crowded (had eat at a very confined space). Enjoyed my experience overall though.
Terence Makrikostas
Sure the place isn't as bad as my review may imply, but the gentleman owner who is also the full time barista is exceptionally rude. Can't speak for anything else.
Gerard Zammit
Last resort cafe in Moonee Ponds even though I've given it a 4 star rating. Food good and service friendly, particularly the longer serving staff, however its always noisy, everyone is jammed in close together and I leave feeling the same relief after being in the London underground

I've been here many times and I've been satisfied. But I had a recent bad experience. I ordered a chargrilled sausage as an extra to my meal. It came to me as not chargrilled, but just a heated up (microwave?) sausage. I know what chargrilled is supposed to look like... and it wasn't such a thing. Told waitress and she came back to say it had been in the oven. Well.. that's NOT chargrilled. When I went to cashier to pay, the cashier charged me the $4 price as an extra. But I didn't get what was promised.. I didn't get chargrilled! A senior worker overheard us and he told the cashier to take off $4. If the senior worker didn't overhear us, then I would've had to pay $4 for a sausage that wasn't chargrilled.

A reliable, local spot for breakfast or lunch. The chicken, mushroom, and avocado risotto is wonderful. As are the other lunch dishes. I haven't tried their breakfasts as of yet, however I am sure they are to a similar standard. We've been so many times now, and have never left disappointed.

Lil kitch is an always reliable brunch location. Coffees are serves scorching and meals, whilst are not adventurous, are tasty all the same. Focaccias and wedges are a must try. Can get quite loud when busy but staff are very friendly.

Amazing ambience.
The French toast and Big breakfast were exceptional. Lots of flavour and also great service from waiters!
Coffee always consistent and made quickly
Recent renovations have made the place all the better to!
😊😊

Always friendly, good takeaway coffees definitely above average lattes here and consistently good. The breakfast Maison is my go to item on the weekends , but get in early . Good servings for lunch but haven't been for a while.

I have always considered myself to be a very respectful, polite and friendly person and I am genuinely this way in my professional life as well as my personal life and that includes each time when I go to visit restaurants.
I have been a very regular and loyal customer of Li'l Kitchen. I have always enjoyed my dining experiences there and look forward to getting my lunch and relaxing in this restaurant. One of the waitresses there who happened to be the owner's niece is a fantastic person and so are their waiters. It seems to be a family-owned business. However, yesterday was one of my most disappointing and disheartening experience in my entire life dining in a restaurant and this happened to be at Li'l Kitchen. Yesterday at Li'l Kitchen, I was served by this female waitress who looked very grumpy and despite how friendly I was to her, she only returned my polite approach with two fake smiles. I felt like she was looking down on me and I am not sure what the reason was. It felt as if I wasn't looking posh enough. Despite that, I kept on being polite and ordered my lunch. Halfway through the meal, I told her that the salad that was served didn't seem as fresh as other times. She was professional enough to get me another serve. I give her credit for her professionalism with what she did. However, towards the end of the meal when I wanted to take away some food and two separate sauces which are the aioli and sweet chili sauces, as she had to return to the counter to pack them for me again since I've forgotten to mention when she packed my main meal, it appeared to me that she was frustrated because it was more work for her. She rudely said to me with a horrible attitude on her face, "You want to pack both of them??" And to that I said, "Yes, please, thank you," with a smile and same politeness. To my surprise when she returned, she clumped both the aioli and sweet chilli sauce into a single plastic sauce box and placed it on my table with an attitude and walked away. The sauces in the box looked inedible and it was a disgusting swirl of mush. By that time, I felt my body shaking with anger and I tried to keep my cool. I caught her attention and she came back and I asked her, "Why did you mix the sauces?" And she said, "Oh, that's just the way we do it here." And then I said, "No, this has never been the case. Every single time when I pack your sauces here, your waiters and waitress always give them to me in separate boxes." With not even a single word of apology till this point, she says to me again, "Oh, that's just the way we do it here." So I asked to speak to the Manager who I think also happens to be the Owner. That waitress with the huge attitude problem went to speak to the owner and she came back stomping into the kitchen and got two different new sauces in separate boxes, left it on my table without making eye contact with me and walked off. I was very angry and upset. I didn't know why the owner did not attend to me even though I asked to speak to him. Then I personally stood up, got hold of the attention of the waiter to ask for the owner. The owner came. I said to the owner, "You know, I never had any problems ever before coming to your restaurant and all your waiters and your wonderful niece who usually serve me have been very nice to me. However, today the waitress who served me did not look like she wanted to do the work and she was rude. She actually mixed two sauces together in a box and said that's the way we do it in this restaurant." The owner then says to me, "Oh, that is because if we give too many boxes away, then it ends up having that I have to pay more for the boxes and I can't get my customers to pay them. By the way, the waitress who served you today is my daughter." At this point, despite me telling the owner that his so-happened daughter who was the waitress who served me today got me very upset and angry, as much as there was not even One one word of apology from her, neither did the owner acknowledge his daughter's spoilt, rude, inappropriate and arrogant behaviour and there was also no apology even on her behalf for the acknowledgement of her rudeness. To add to my confusion as to what I have done to deserve such treatment, I thought to myself that maybe it is because she was having a bad day. However, in the middle of having my meal, came another very posh and wealthy looking lady customer seated next to my table whom the rude waitress seemed to have treated her with a lot more friendliness than with me. I left the restaurant feeling terrible and spoke to few colleagues and friends asking them what they would have thought to be the reason why the owner's daughter behaved that way. Two persons put it down to racism. Another friend put it down to the fact that maybe I look poor (which doesn't make sense because I was wearing decent and neat attire for work). Most came to the conclusion that it was because she thinks she is the owner's daughter and she can do just about anything to get away with murder. My confidants encouraged me to write a review as a way to empower myself. I was very hesitant for the most part because every single person in Li'l Kitchen has been very nice to me especially the owner's niece. However, the owner's daughter, because of her, I have to say, has forever tainted and robbed my experience and desire to ever want to go back there again. A friend said, if the owner is a sharp businessman, he would discipline his daughter because I wouldn't be the first person and the last person to suffer his daughter's ill treatment. However, in a twisted sense, if she did treat me because of racial or wealth discrimination, I really want to thank her for the experience. This is because this lesson has taught me regardless of how you look, what you wear or what your ethnic background is, everyone deserves to be treated with equal respect. Some of us do find it hard to practice this genuinely from our hearts but having experienced this today, my treatment of others will go beyond social mores and conventions and political correctness to understanding the deserving right of every human being to be treated with respect because everyone is valuable. This from now onwards is a learned wisdom that I will carry out for the rest of my life. To the owner of the restaurant: "I hope your daughter doesn't bring your business down and there is hope for her to be a better person."

Very friendly staff, prompt service. Cosy decor, good place to and enjoy a meal or a hot drink. It's around $3.50 for a hot drink which I think is pretty reasonable (though sometimes they aren't full to the brim of the cup). They also have outdoor seating. They have an EFTPOS minimum of $10- so not the most convenient place to grab a to-go cup of coffee.

This place is great for breakfast. The food is freshly prepared and not greasy, the coffee is great too. A definite place to check out for breakfast in Puckle Street. It's also very chilled and relaxed atmosphere.

I walked in with my sister for breakfast - no one seated us, nor came to our table..the waitress was too 'busy' catching the goss with an old friend! We seated ourselves & after roughly 20 minutes (waitress still chatting with her friend), we decided to scratch the bfast & I walked up to the barista & ordered 2 coffees. The waitress didn't even glance at me, she was too intrigued into her conversation. The barista knew what was going on but chose to ignore it. Extremely unprofessional. I felt like an idiot & regret ordering the coffees as they didn't deserve our time nor money! I hope others don't experience the same disrespect & poor service.

I was quite disappointed with my breakfast. The corn fritters were just pancakes with some corn kernels thrown in. It was also supposed to come with rocket, however instead was given a massive clump of garden salad on the top and bottom of my "corn pancakes". If they had run out of rocket, they should have let me know so i could have chosen an alternative. The coffee was also quite weak. Service was also not very friendly.

Warm and cosy space especially on a cold winter morning.

Prompt drinks service and meals arrived in just the right amount of time. The wait-staff are friendly and accommodating- refilling pots of tea with water and giving extra condiments.

Coffees arrived extra hot, as requested. Sadly, they use tea drop tea bags here- which are bland and weak- but as we were having green tea, it was quite okay. Those around me ordered the muesli, the French toast with bacon and a chicken avocado focaccia. Servings are generous. Well priced.

17/12/2016
Had lunch here today. Muesli, Chicken foccacia, salmon foccacia and wedges. Lovely. Drinks were green tea, water, chai latte and iced coffee. Latte came out only 3/4 filled so sent it back. Was delicious on return.

9/04/2017
Had brunch again here today. All was good except for the latte (same problem again). Also, the mug vs. cup of chai.... No real difference. Food was good.

Not that great...breakfast average, coffee horrible and not one waiter/waitress could manage a smile. Disappointing, over priced and won't return.

On Puckle street is this popular cafe. The staff were attentive and were quick to seat us, as well as quick to take our order (without being pushy). The cafe has a large menu with plenty of options for both sweet and savoury breakfasts as well as lunches. I ordered the Anzac breakfast, which was HUGE. I actually couldn't even finish my meal. My partner ordered the French toast which was also a very large meal. Both meals were delicious and well cooked. The coffee was strong and delicious also. The only downside was the tables are very close together and it can be super squishy, but other than that it was a good experience!

Had a lovely meal here, super friendly staff too :) I had the corn fritters which were nice, super delicious relish and nicely cooked bacon, only downside was being served a cold egg :/ my company had a Parma which was fresh and nicely cooked, chips were delicious! Coffee was nice, super generous serving which I loved! Pity about the no latte art though :(
Overall a nice cafe in with generous servings and decent food, I would go again

I just had the rudest experience from the young male barista! I asked if he had 'stevia to put in my coffee & he said no only 'equal'. While waiting to have my coffee made I noticed on the tables that they had 'stevia'. So I passed one to him & said, you do have stevia. He rolled his eyes & stated, "Yeah Equal" I told him that it's different, Equal is synthetically made & Stevia is natural. "It's all the same to me" he said! I advised him that if someone like myself that eats organic it's not all the same & he proceeded to reprimand me for being picky! Seriously is that how you treat your customers! Needless to say I did not get my coffee & will not go there again to get anything else. lol Kitch you just lost a customer! Disgraceful!

One of the best coffees i have had in melbourne. No doubt my favourite. Service is prompt and staff members are friendly and helpful. A must try.

GREAT. A regular patron for 2 years now and cannot fault the service nor food. Their breakfasts are cooked to perfection and their bread is yummo!! Love the omelette very filling. Generous servings and well priced, not too expensive for the quality you receive. Would highly recommend.
Bopnbeep
A good weekend brunch spot. Menu is simple and has all the classics, I usually go for eggs benedict with a fresh juice. You can choose what you want in your juice. Service is good and it's well priced, can't go wrong.

My mother in law took us here, lovely feeling as soon as you enter. The staff really look after you, great customer service! When I come back from WA, i'll come back for lunch. Thank you and keep up the great work!

I love coming here. The only cafe I visit on Puckle street. I take all my friends here for catch ups no matter if it's breakfast or lunch. Delicious food for reasonable prices - everything I have tried on the menu so far has been full of flavour. But more importantly Lil Kitch has quality service. As soon as you walk in the door, without fail, the staff will greet you and get you a table, no matter how busy they are. They always ask if you'd like another drink and always warmly farewell you with a big friendly smile. Highly recommend.

The best cafe in Puckle Street, the service is always friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious and well priced. Coffee is tasty and comes the way you order it.
Eden Edwards
Simple easy food. Slightly dated decide, but casual. Good food, large portions and not bad coffee. Good for brunch on the run, probably not a sit there all day and catch up kind of place.
Sarah Melnyk
Service and food good...coffee wasn't great. The coffee was bitter, omelette nice and Eggs Maison was the highlight. Reasonably priced and nice atmosphere. Gary Grogan

Had heard some good things and read some good reviews of this cafe but were a bit disappointed with our lunch today. Had the turkey focaccia and the Mexican focaccia and both were dry and tasteless. Needed a sauce or Mayo or something. Bread was also over toasted. On the plus side, fresh oj was good and so were the chips, and service. Might try a kitchen cooked meal next time.

VERY PLEASANT OLD-STYLE CAFE -- I had lunch there today and I was very pleased with my chicken and mushroom white sauce pasta. It was really flavoursome, well seasoned, big pieces of chicken, visible chunks of mushrooms, a lovely silky sauce and almost al dente. The serving size was man-sized. That always makes me happy. Personally, I like my fettuccine a bit thinner, as they cook better and take the flavours of the sauce better as well.

The guys by my side had the Eggs Florentine and I thought they looked a bit unappealing and I would not have been that generous with my rating if I had had those, but other dishes served to other tables got my eye. Their menu is quite large and varied, so a good place to come back.

Their coffee is really good! Strong but not bitter. And they have mugs.

The place is pleasant enough, and one of the few places open on Sundays in Puckle St. It is quite busy and family friendly. Not a cafe you include in a "must" list, but one of those all-round cafes that one wants to have around home. A comfort food sort of cafe.

Service was fast and friendly.
Batterbury Fam
Really great cafe in puckle st. Some of the best hollondaise sauce I've had in
years ...well done chef . 😉really great.

I will be stopping by here again soon
Redcat
Nothing special about this cafe, but nothing hugely negative either. It is your standard cafe, serving the usuals. Lots of choice, with a huge menu. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Manager is also nice. Can get quite busy and loud.

I have been to every breakfast eatery in Moonee Ponds. But lil kitch is by far the best. The big breakfast was only $17 and it was massive.. I couldn't finish it.. Which for me is a feat in itself ... The service was second to none.. Friendly , prompt and accomodating ... I will be back ... Every Saturday... While studying the form guide!
Taniacandido
Salad lacked flavour. I went here for lunch and had the warm cajun chicken salad. The service was good and the food came out pretty quick. Though my salad wasn't that great, the chicken was overcooked and lacked flavour. The rest of salad was basically made up of greens, there was barely any of the other ingredients that are listed on the menu. The Puckle St area has so many other cafes that are much better than this.
EllaRamis
Great. This place is one of my fav places on puckle street... highly recommend!!
Yummie
The waiter is one of the rudest men I have met. I complained about how disgusting my meal was and he just kept calling me sweetie and being a sexist pig while arguing with me. I won't be back nose bag food and very rude
Whitney Vasquez
I ordered the chicken burger (below) which came on focaccia bread with a side of fries (btw… their fries are awesome!)
Katherine Chiu
The waffle was really big. It was really fluffy not hard and dry like the ones at Max Brenners. For $13 I expected two waffles, but instead they brought out one and a whole lot of ice cream and jam. I loved the jam. The jam tasted very countrylike.

Satisfied customers. We have been going to Lil Kitch for years since the original owners started the business. The present owners have continued to keep up a high standard of food and service. We have never had a bad meal or a bad coffee on the contrary the food has always been very very good. The owners and the staff are always happy and cheerful and make the experience well worth it.
We have taken many friends and family there for breakfast , lunch or just coffee,it has always been great.
Because it is so popular it gets a little noisy, what can you do thats life.
Overall 4.5 stars out of 5

Awesome coffee. Great coffee and breakfast. Great atmosphere and staff.

Luke Paino, the best waiter ive had

LK is a pleasant spot to soak up the morning sun over a coffee :)

Breakfast was horrible and waitress was RUDE. 2seconds after we ordered we asked if we could have our bacon crispy and the waitress said it was too late! I also asked her if it came with toast and she said "read the smallprint on the menu!"
SandraS
Ordered big breakfast and it was truly horrendous. Very greasy. The bacon was not crispy but HARD, the scrambled eggs oily, the spinach came in a tangled ball like it had been in the tumble dryer. It was oily too. Sausage the very cheap variety. Coffee not bad. This place has really slipped!!!!
TheDinnerAficionado
Functional but still hits the spot. Don't go here expecting much, and you will be pleasantly surprised!
I think this place is way better than Lemon Soul.
Friendly service too
Alex_champ17
Awful Chicken Parma. Ordered the chicken parmigiana. They brought it out was charcoal burnt, peeled off the charcoal (which I don't know if they were blind, but to serve looking like that, demonstrated the total lack of pride in the food which they serve). After peeling it off, it was stained in some weird orange sauce, I reluctantly took a bite and the chicken did NOT taste fresh). I strongly would suggest trying out alternative restaurants/ cafes.
Natalie.pasquale26
Lovely Chicken Caesar Salad!. Hold on the anchovy fillets and this place has a delicious chicken Caesar salad! Worth a go for sure :)
NomNom2000
One of those places that definitely isn't in my likes list, but it would be unfair to vote that I didn't like it. We had the veggie breakfast and chicken souvlaki. Whilst definitely not fantastic or innovative in any way, both of the meals were ok. The service was ok. The waitress looked like she was doing her best to remain friendly, and the meals came out on time. Won't be going back as it's nothing special. But it did the job today - I happened to be driving through the area and was hungry.
Loretta
We had breakfast here recently and thought it was great big serves and good prices and very prompt service
Kate Procter
Nice. Happened to be in the area, so had the yummy corn cakes and a pot of tea. hot the spot...
Finger Lickin
This place has gone really down hill. Definitely not what it use to be. Food took to long to come out and it was rushed.
Chris Brettargh
I love the eggs benedict! I.... I love the eggs benedict!
I always get a side of bacon!
Love the coffee!
And noticed that some of the bad reviews of this place are HIGHLY exaggerated!
Alexandra
Great service, great lunch! I eat here 4 times a week.
KT B
Very noisey, but food is great and prompt service. Except the corn fritters which were more like pikelets with a couple bits of corn in it. Wouldn't rave about the coffee
Madeleine
Don't like the staff. Focaccia's - flavourless. Nice chai at least. The menu is so big it's confusing and makes you question how fresh the food is.
Mick
Great service, coffee and breakfast
Sophia
Good Start to the Day. This venue has one of my most enjoyable breakfast menus in Moonee Ponds. For $20 you can get yourself a filling breakfast and coffee. Definitely worth the price. I recommend that "Maison Breakfast", 2 poached eggs on a bed of avocado and chutney on sourdough bread is one of the best ways to start the day.
Healthy2Petite
Frozen food, Average service. Been here the first time with high expectation. But the service was disappointed. The waitress are friendly, but we waited more than 30 minutes for our food. We ordered grilled chicken burger, which really really average, tasteless and the bread very very dry. The mushroom risotto is the worst I ever had, tasteless and too creamy.

Big portion just not necessary if the food taste that bad.
Wes Bogale
Perfect coffee, amazing food and efficiant great service. Every meal I've had has been an appropriate size and brought out in a timely manner and at a great price! The only problem I have had is getting a table but that's no wonder considering how good the food is.
MelbourneMiss
Functional. The layout of Lil Kitch is pretty functional, more cafeteria style than quaint as so many new cafes are. Having said that, the service, food and coffee is good, and very well priced. My poached eggs with a side of mushrooms were good, and my strong long black had a good kick without being bitter. Lil Kitch might be lacking in ambience, but delivers on all other fronts.
Ron
Service was sloooowwwww. Stood at the front door for about 4 mins until someone actually came up to greet. Ordered my coffee, waited a while for that as well. Probably should have learnt the last time I came into this joint
Dante Martin
It's a great place for coffee but the food is inconsistent. I've had the prawn curry thing and it's delicious. Parmagiana came without tomato salsa on it. Then They brought it out cold and seperate to the chicken?
The time after I had souvlaki. The salad smelt really bad. I think the dressing was more than off or something. Staff dont apologise or try to get a replacement of anything and got like a $5 discount for the salad part of the meal after mentioning it twice.
Jess Maitland
Just wanted to say Lil Kitch is lovely. I frequent this place almost once a fortnight and adore the food and staff (especially one particular waiter who is always chipper and helpful). Eggs Maison is my partner's fave while I love the Chicken Caesar. Keep it up - thanks guys.
Caitlin
Absolutely amazing!! My fave cafe!! Coffee is always good, food is delicious and staff are friendly!!
Ando
Great service. Food came out fast and had lots of flavor.
Ryan
Big tick for LK. I regularly go to Lil Kitch for the great coffee, always piping hot and out in minutes despite how busy they are. There is so much variety on the menu, everything i've had is excellent quality and great value. My favourites are the Eggs Mason and the Vegetarian Focaccia. The waiter Matt is alway super friendly and anticipates customer needs.
Matt Robertson
All the things you would expect from a breakfast spot stuck in 1999. Generic menu, scolding coffee, old people.
J Tong
Lil kitch scratches that itch. Perfect place for breakfast, highly recommend the french toast served with strawberries, maple syrup, cream and bacon- soooo good!
A favourite of mine is also the calamari for lunch, eggs benedict and eggs florentine.
Great coffee, excellent service and the manager is a top bloke.
Love this place!
Plain Jane
Amazing Breakfast. I've been here for breakfast many times in the past few years, and each time the food has been fantastic! The service is always friendly and our meals came out quickly. The cafe is always packed - a testament to the great food and lovely floor staff. Keep it up!
Mjloco
Fail. I've been there over 10 times because it's the easiest place for my friends and I to catch up. We should really change that. Last time, it took 1.5 hours for them to bring out 3 foccacias.. that were sitting in the front fridge and just needed to be toasted! It was lunch time but it wasn't packed. A joke really. Cmon north western suburbs we need a good cafe!!!
Josephine
THE BEST THAT CAFE HAS TO OFFER. Truly one of the best cafe's around. The food is amazing in all ways. Quality and quantity will impress. I never go to any cafe but Lil Kitch when Im in Moonee Ponds. The breakfast is so delicious and the coffee my favorite too.
Snowflower
The flat white was not bad but the New York baked cheese cake tasted like overnight cake. It was rock hard with questionable texture. Service was abrupt and not the friendliest.
Roona
Love it. Been going to this place since its been open...very consistent great prices, great food, great service
Saxplayer
Went to lil kitch for breakfast, not impressed. Ordered bacon and mushrooms on toast, forgot the bacon also no butter either on the toast or supplied. Won't be going there again!
AdL
The food at lil kitch tastes good. I like the place, but is always full on weekends. I would love for them to change their menu, or have specials though. choice is limited for a regular like me...

Good food, good people.. Once again, lils kitch impressed me. We turned up at 12:30on sat, the place was packed. Within a minute we got a table, All waiting staff were prompt, (including the owner), all had a warm smile on there face. The salmon special was fresh, scrambled egg nicely cooked. My meatloaf focaccia had delicious cheese, fresh tomato and big proportion. Had two coffee with the meal, all up we paid $28.50. We are happy.

Perfect if you hate food. If you want cold fried eggs and mushrooms still with soil attached then this is the place for you-- otherwise be warned appalling food and mediocre service.

Thumbs Up!. It's a great place for a catch up lunch with mates, great atmosphere and great friendly service.

One of, if not THE best.. My girlfriend and I eat out a lot. Probably twice a week on average. L'il Kitch is one of the best dining experiences we have and we will travel from Brunswick to Moonee Ponds to have breakfast there at the drop of a hat. I first visited Kitch about 3 years ago and have been returning ever since. The food is fresh, tasty, reasonable priced and delivered very quickly even during super busy times when there could be 70 or more people dining. The wait staff are super friendly, always smiling and always keeping an eye on you to make sure you have everything you need or more of anything you want, but not so much that you feel smothered (a common mistake for a lot of places in my opinion). The three main things that a restaurant is ranked on are range and quality of food, quality of coffee and quality and speed of wait staff. L'il Kitch gets 5 stars right across the board.

PS: The calamari is outstanding and easily my favourite dish.

It is what it is.. If you want prompt service, quite generous portions and adequate food, then Lil Kitch is ok. However, the noise level (on a Saturday afternoon) defeats any hope of conversation, and there is nothing memorable about the food - very standard, middle of the road. It serves a purpose and does so very efficiently.

Great Breakfast. It was one of those stumbled upon places, based on urbanspoon reviews and ratings (A testament to the site).

A good bustlin' place for breakfast. A restaurant packed with goodies, the menu had variety, the wrap and cakes on display looks yummy. Service was attentive and with a smile.

[The Food]
The big breakfast (Stunning and perfectly cooked, poached eggs yolks were oozing out, delicious sausages, portion was great. The only thing missing perhaps was artisan bread instead of normal bread)

The Vegetarian Big Breakfast (Equally awesome. Baked beans were nice, fresh avo, eggs perfectly scrambled)

[The Coffee]
Our mugs serves of Mocha was potent, rich and creamy.

Overall, very Satisfying and would definitely come back.

Nice and Easy. I find it quite hard to review breakfast places because there tends to be so much of the same out in cafe land. Lil Kitch is no different from any other suburban cafe in terms of menu items offered. I ordered the Eggs Benedict which to my delight came out perfectly poached. The white was nice and firm and the egg yolk bright orange and yummy. Im not quite sure if they use free range eggs or not but none the less it tasted like an egg should. The coffee was nice albeit a little to cold for my liking. The service was prompt and very attentive. As for value for money, breakfast for 3 including drinks and some extra sides was a reasonable $55. Highly recommended if your in Puckle St.

Kitch'N Confidential. Lil Kitch always seems extremely busy when I pass by, particularly come lunchtime. My curiousity finally got the better of me today, and I decided to give it a try for a quick workday lunch. With seating for approximately fifty inside and another twenty on the pavement, its décor is modern if somewhat 'middle of the road'. Their breakfast menu is popular and there's a large variety of options on the lunch menu which includes focaccias, salads, pastas, pizzas & schnitzels, etc.

The place was pretty full when I arrived with a work colleague at 1pm, and it didn't take long before the place had filled completely. The waiter looking after us was efficient enough, albeit business like and swiftly took our order, returning with a bottle of water & glasses.

Despite the crowd, our orders were promptly fulfilled. My chicken focaccia comprised a lightly toasted focaccia with an acceptable amount of filling and overall it was enjoyable enough if not life altering. My colleague spoke positively about his meatloaf focaccia, which from my perspective also appeared to contain a respectable amount of meatloaf and accompaniments.

Lil Kitch currently uses Grinders Giancarlo blend of Arabica beans, so I ordered my standard long black to see how it stacked up. Whilst not offensive, I certainly wouldn't be returning specifically for a coffee. To be fair, it was probably equivalent to what's being served up at most of the cafes along Puckle Street, but definitely nothing like the magnificent coffee a short distance away at Nabiha.

Coffee aside, the food and service was all quite good and I'd have no qualms about revisiting for a quick lunch or lazy breakfast.

Eggs mason are the best, great coffee, best on puckle street!

Great food. Awful service, the worst waitress I have ever encountered. I will not go there ever again, because of the terrible service, she may have been racist to Asians.

The critic review is so out of date by at least 2 years, it's obvious many things have changed since then... For the worst

Sick of the lack in quality. What is it about Puckle that demands mediocrity in cafe's. I'm sick of stale old coffee, poor pizzas, crappy sandwhiches, soggy pastry and old cakes.
Lil Kitch is just another sad face in a sad part of town.
