Review District North - Moonee Ponds

Awesome place for food! The place seemed very popular and with the good ratings we checked it out. I can recommend it but there was a little too much salt in the food for my liking. The service was great and the food presentation was spot on, as you can tell by the photos. I’d still visit again to try out more of their selection.

Came here around 11 and it was bustling. Waited about 20mins before being seated at the bar. Despite being so busy the service was excellent. The staff didnt seem stressed out and were happy and friendly. The garden on toast was generously portioned and very vibrant. The poached eggs were done perfectly, something i haven't seen in awhile. The halloumi wasn't overly salty which was a good surprise. Mac that Benny had perfectly cookee bacon, crispy charred and flavoursome. The croquettes were deliciously cheesey. Can't wait to try other items on the menu.

Absolutely fantastic morning at District North! Bottomless brunch was amazing- we left super full! The cocktails were better than cocktails you get at most bars in Melbourne. Food was brought out real quick and was super tasty. Loved it and we will be back.

It all depends on what you order. There wasn't much that really jumped out to me on the menu so I settled for a chicken sandwich. It was pretty bland. I could only get through half. The service was great though and the mimosa was wonderful

District North The coffee was very good. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was verging on uncomfortably loud and we weren't able to have a proper conversation. Maybe a complete walled herb garden would soak up some noise? :-) Contrary to other reviews, the pricing of the main menu items were reasonable. However, the 'extras' were overpriced if only by a dollar or two per item. The service was attentive and quick. The meals came in a reasonable time considering it was peak hour. (Saturday 11am) The food was great and of high quality. They have that typical cafe toast with the impossible to cut, concrete crust. :-( I'd recommend sitting outside if the weather permits to work around the noise.

I went there on labour day, which is public holiday. Was very busy since there was no cafe opened around there so it was very busy, needed to wait for 15min. But it was worth to wait. Food was nice and yam, staff were so friendly. 10% surcharge for public holiday. The table I got was a but weird as a group customer with a baby and as busy it was, it was quite noisy but I definitely come back. Good for friends and families

Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere with awesome loud hip hop and R&B music! Real cool environment! Food was delicious with super interesting choices on the menu! Wish this place was in the south east!!

brunch place serving modern fusion food with cool loud music as ambience. My coffee were burnt tho. The server were shaking and spilling the tea when serving. They have option for bottomless brunch with 1 food item and unlimited booze for 2 hours but did not tried it. The fried chicken were nice but the glaze were extremely sweet almost inedible. The cornbread brioche and korean brisket were ok. Overall a decent food with decent pricing and atmosphere.

I say inside as I had my dog with me. In the end I waited so long for service I had to go in and ask a waiter to come out. We first ordered water for the table, a soft drink and a black coffee and waited 25 minutes the coffee. The wait for the food was ridiculous - we waited an hour for the waffles and eggs benedict and one side dish. In the end we had to follow up with the waitress about our food and was told it was delayed because they're busy but when the food came we were told there was a mix up. This whole time one guy was opening the door for people as they were leaving yet we were left outside and the only time we had contact with staff was when we up and contacted them, they did not come to us. Finally we got our food and mine was cold but I was so over it we ate and left rather than complaining and waiting even more. We were given the side dish and drinks for free but given that the coffee was free because we had a dog, we only got one side dish and a soft drink for waiting so long for two basic dishes. It then took another 15 minutes to pay because the waitress couldn't use the till. Huge disappointment. Go anywhere else.

When we first walked in looking around at the clientele and the prices I thought it was an overpriced hipsters spot, but although it's not cheap the quality of ingredients, portion sizes and how well the dishes are cooked and put together and cooked make the food well, well worth the price! The staff are very friendly, even though the place was busy late on a Saturday morning the service was very quick and they are very attentive, the music makes it a nice vibe and the place has a nice atmosphere, will definitely be going here again. Thank you

So the food was incredible, however the experience was completely ruined by the terrible service. We were there for bottomless brunch, we’re waiting over 20min for a drink, the manager was too busy attempting to make people happy where he should of been making sure his staff were doing there jobs. He even ordered us a round to limit the wait and it never turned up. We left early, highly disappointed. Will never go back however the food was incredible.

Attended bottomless brunch, food and drinks were lovely however they need to be more explicit about what "bottomless" entails. Being told there have run out of a specific drink only to see everyone else being served it is very disappointing. Staff deliberately ignored us in the last 20 mins to avoid having to serve a last drink. Don't bother with the bottomless brunch!

This was by far the worst take away experience I have ever had. Firstly I ordered through uber eats. I ordered the chicken burger without the jalapeno slaw, chips and a shake. When the food finally arrived there was no shake, it was not on the ticket from district north however the money for it was taken out of my bank account and it was on the uber eats receipt emailed to me. When I opened my burger box I was distraught to find slaw in my burger and the most burnt chicken I have ever seen. Somehow the restaurant thought that because I asked for no jalapeno slaw that it was OK to add normal slaw with extra mayo onto my burger. It was inedible. I am extremely dissapointed and will be following up for a refund.

Would have given 5 stars but they ran out of two menu items, it was also a hot day and the ventilation was not too good which made it a bit stuffy. Exceptional for such a small cafe, all the food was tasty and well presented and service was great. The cafe also offers selfie sticks for those who like to take photos of the food. Also given the price of the burgers, I think they should come with fries instead of two small crockettes.

The burger was absolutely incredibly perfect! Compliments to the chef. The service was friendly and inviting and the manager was welcoming. My girlfriend and I both loved our meals and our coffees, very simple menu and not overwhelming! Definitely a place that we will be returning to more frequently for our lunch and dinner dates! Thank you for a great experience!

Don’t normally write reviews like this but after djing here last night I have to. Beautiful venue and the service from the manager and staff is amazing. I got treated like royalty and they went out of their way to accomodate for me and make it easy. The food is sensational and I highly recommend it! thank you guys!

Great food, bad service. We had to flag someone down to order and then waited 45 minutes for our food and asked a few people to check on our food. We asked at the register if they could compensate the wait and he said no. I will not be going back and will warn friends about this place and tell them if you have a spare 2 hours to wait around to have a simple brunch then go ahead. This is Melbourne and the quality needs to be improved dramatically to measure up to the rest of the great cafes in the area.
