I love this place. The staff members are very kind, friendly and smiley and they make you smile with joy as they welcome you to this cafe. The pastries here are heavenly, an absolute privilege to chill here. The drinks are refreshing and good. The cakes are delicious, the cannolis displayed makes your mouth water and the little tarts and pastries are so cute and petit. Love this place.
The window display of cakes and pastries is enough to draw any sweet lover in with plenty to choose from. I had a couple of takeaway items which very lovingly packaged by the friendly lady who served me. The cannoli shell was perfectly crispy filled with a smooth chocolate custard. Definitely worth stopping by for your sweet treat fix.
Mio Dolce is a hidden gem in Moonee ponds for proper Italian cakes and pastries. They do an Italian hot chocolate which is to die for and not overly sweet. At the back you'll find homemade gelato/icecream. This is the best. Flavours always feature some kind of chocolate and vanilla but the texture is absolutely stunning. The fruit combinations are some of the best around.
If you're craving something sweet with your coffee head here!
Staff are always very friendly but be warned it can be hard to get a table at peak times.
Fantastic staff, cakes fresh. The head baker very accomodating, made birthday cake for my son based on picture I provided and it was amazing! Very very happy.
An Italian pasticceria is surely a wonderous thing. Even better, if the pasticceria is also a gelateria! Mio Dolce has some of the best value house-made gelati in Melbourne, and its large selection of cakes and pastries are at very reasonable prices. We especially loved the cannoli.
Best cake shop in puckle by far!!!! Very fussy cake connersiour. Streets ahead!!!!! I come here on a weekly basis and i would not go elsewhere for cakes!!
I am a believer of "try before buy". I was just passing by this shop with tempting display of yummy cakes so thought of trying it. As such I wanted to order a cake for my friend. So I thought of trying Black Forest and a Pink Lemington like cake which I think they call snow ball. I was surprised by the quality of cakes. I mean it's a small shop n honestly I didn't expected it to be so good. Anybody going here, Black Forest is not to miss. The bottom layer is full of cherries. The first bite itself is burst of yummy flavours. Coffee is average but cakes are a must.
They had the best price for gelato cones!. I'm always craving gelato, so even though it was a crap day, I jumped off the train home from work to get a cone here. I needed to swipe on at a Zone 1 station to work my Myki rort anyway, and I had just enough time to get a treat before the next train came. The gelato selection was small -- eight tubs, but it's made in-house, which is why I wanted to try Mio Dolce's. How spoilt are we these days, anyway? I'm whingeing about "only 8 flavours." The video store a few shops west has two dozen! Listen here whippersnappers, back when I was your age, the only flavours we had were chocolate, strawberry and vanilla, and a lot of times that was ice MILK, not gelato. Kids these days...
Anyway, the hazelnut and baci scoops I had were creamy, not too dense, mellow flavours, a bit of chunky stuff in there from the nuts and other add-ins. I like busy ice cream. The great thing about this place is the price of the cones -- $4 for a two-scooper! That's $1.50 less than the Trampoline chain, and half the price of Movenpick. I think I'll be doing the train-swindle jump-off here again. Especially for the baked goods. I was stocked up with sweet pastries at home when I was here, but there are all sorts of house-baked pasticcerie in the display cases that I can't wait to get my mouth around.
Got better. We have been coming to this place for years but the cakes were something of a hit and miss. It was closed for a long stint over Christmas and was re-opened recently. The cakes are now a bit more expensive than before (not in comparison to other stores though) but are amazing. The tiramisu used to be edible but is now up there with the best of them. I don't know if they have changed owner or the baker but the taste has changed a lot and for the better.
I ordered my wedding cake from here and I was BLOWN away!!! We had the marble mud cake and everyone was going crazy after their first bite. Will definitely be ordering my cakes from here. The coffee is great too. I recommend it.
We had our twins 1st bday cake from here over the long weekend and it was the mostbeautiful cake both visually and taste.. They did a fantastic job & were so accomadating. We picked the marble mud & all our guests wanted seconds and travellers. Highly recommend
This cake shop is absolutely remarkable, from the coffee to the quality in the cakes is amazing. How could I forget the amazing service!!!
Good coffee, more so the hot chocolate. It's the really stuff from Europe not the crap nestle powder some other places serve. Friendly service and wonderful food.
Yummy........ Great Coffee and the sweets are to die for...all so yummy.....especially the Cannoli , Lemon Tart, Crostoli just to name a few.....and the list goes on....!!! The Service was friendly and welcoming......
The display window @MioDolceCakes caught my eye walking past and had me drooling at the wonderful looking sweet creations. I settled on a couple of cannoli one filled with Italian custard and the other with ricotta. Both were crunchy on the outside and very tasty. Love the traditional ricotta version.
I also got a mini profitterole stack with soft choux pastry filled with a rich Italian custard and coated in a lovely layer of chocolate. I really enjoyed this.
Lastly, hard to go past the Toblerone cheesecake. Rich, chocolatey and delectable. A very naughty treat to enjoy during the day.

Great coffee and service. Excellent range of pastries.
The vanilla slice was to die for. The pastry was flaky with a good crunch...made very recently. The custard cream filling was well flavoured and a perfect consistency throughout. One star deducted because I felt the Italian hot chocolate just missed the mark in flavour. Not bitter enough. You certainly won't be disappointed if you like a vanilla slice. Though I believe they called it a diplomatica.
Good value cakes, and what? What?! Nutella Baklava?!!
