Review North X Northwest - Moonee Ponds

Amazing coffees as well as a great environment! The staff is very attentive and friendly šŸ™Œ Can't recommend highly enough āœŒšŸ˜

Coffee and food is good. Every time I went the owner was using his phone via headphones while serving. Seemed more interested in that conversation than he was serving customers. Might be old schools, but I find that rude.

Great breakfast. Pork knuckle, smashed peas, eggs and hollandaise. Worth giving it a go.

A lovely space with a good choice of food and fantastic coffee. The owner of this cafe is definitely the highlight. He is extremely attentive and friendly - he will learn your regular coffee order almost instantly and will remember your face and say hello even after months apart with visits. Cannot recommend this place enough.

One of the best coffees I have had in ages. Brilliant service, exceptional coffee, and great lunch options. Sparkling water as the default table water lifts the service to next level. Friendly efficient staff, and good portions of the food- definitely visiting again next time I am in town.

Visited the cafe for our Sunday breakfast. Clean, quiet and with good space. We had North West breakfast, Long Macc, and hot chocolate. Staffs were friendly. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Happy to recommend.

My new favorite cafe, can't say enough nice things about it. Found it by accident with my husband on Saturday. Dragged my brother out here on Sunday and we all love it. It is calm, light and airy and the perfect place to sit for a few hours or pop in for quick pick me up. The slight sunken nature of the building makes you feel safe and snuck yet still so light you could be on a cloud. Music is soft adhd subtle so you never have to talk to loud to hear but still cant hear others conversations! Everything is maticlous from the perfect poured coffee, the subtle beauty of the food that is almost to pretty to eat (almost). I also love that they have lightly sparkling tap watter and to top it off the wifi password is in the menu. Truly superb! ā¤ Of you ever up trying this hidden gem tell them Rebecca sent you šŸ˜Š

Cute cafe away from busy Puckle st. Great coffee, yummy food - especially the Benedict with smoked trout and buttered peas! Lovely owner and staff. New favourite.

Fantastic food, coffee and service. I'm very happy to have found this place as it's a new favorite for me. The dukkah crusted eggs were brilliant, as was the single origin long black. The staff are also super accomodating and friendly. Looking forward to going back.

Had the chicken burger and was absolutely delighted. The fried chicken was moist and all the flavors were spot on, I'll definitely be back.

Cute little cafe away from the hustle and bustle of Puckle st and Mt road. We ordered the smoked trout and north breakfast. The hollandaise was light and creamy, and the scrambled eggs were delicious.

We have been visiting this place quite frequently since it opened. It is really cosy and welcoming and I love the colour theme. Parking is easy.Ā I find their pots of tea to be generous and they use tea leaves which is a definite must for a cafe. I like their chai latte mix and the way it is made is really creamy. I wish that they had actual mugs though. In terms of food- it is mid- price range. The people I dine with love the baker eggs, the bacon and eggs, chips and muesli. Today I had the vegetarian ciabatta roll. I chose poorly. A few things that could make it better would be if it was toasted on both sides and to think about the flavour, colour and texture combination. Maybe add avocado, rocket or fetta or add more spinach or have fresh beetroot instead of relish.

We found this place because it was just a short minute's walk from the Quest Moonee Valley. Hidden away and not too busy, it was a quiet place for lunch one day. Then we just had to go back for breakfast the following morning.

The food is excellent, the coffee is great and service outstanding. The staff are amazing. So nice to be remembered when you go back for a second visit - even to the point of remembering our coffee orders and food preferences and room number (they have a charge-back arrangement with the Quest). Highly recommended.

Iā€™m a local from the area, and hadnā€™t heard of this place before finding it on Zomato. Although itā€™s a little hidden, I was amazed with great service, great food and a lovely owner! Deserves more exposure, Highly recommend!

One of the best cafe I tried in Melbourne. I like their modern interior which makes you feel relaxed and comfortable.
Their service was good and, the owner is friendly and thoughtful, so I felt I was welcomed.
Food and drinks were great too. Need to try other plates next time. Highly recommend this place.

Was surprised to find out this place has been open for a year and we just heard about it. Great cafe hidden just off Mt. Alexander road that more people need to know about.

Interior is cosy and they even serve sparkling water which was a nice surprise.
Staff were great and very helpful. Also took feedback really well.

Food had great flavours and tasted really fresh. Will have to come back and try their burger soon along with their pancakes.

Well worth the visit.

The food Excellent, stylish & well presented. Couldn't ask for anything more. Great ingredients treated with respect. The cafe is spotlessly clean. Service is always on a professional level. Keep up the great work. I will tell all my family and friends.

From the smiling faces when you walk in, to the amazing food and coffee, this cafe leaves you full and satisfied at every visit. We went once for a coffee and now all our friends are coming to try the menu! Love this place and the staff.

Great coffee and service is great, from greeting me once I walked in the door to personally coming out from behind the counter just to hand me my take away coffee

This place is amazing, I stumbled on it by accident, which is suprising because it's a little hard to get to.

The coffee was well made with a good roast, the service was beyond lovely and the food very well put together, with some interesting twists on common themes on the menu. Roomy and comfortable, with some good outdoor space to eat too.

One of the best cafe experiences I've had in Melbourne, and that's saying something.

Great place to have a nice quiet coffee, read the paper & have a delicious meal (my favourite is the smashed avocado or poached eggs with beetroot relish). Recommended

Went here a couple of days ago and loved it! The single origin coffee was superb, the owner/barista really knows what he's doing. Food was great too, the ham hock was delicious - super soft melt in your mouth meat. Will definitely be back!
Whisky Whiskers
I'm so glad I found this place, the food and coffee(!!) was absolutely sensational.

I had the dukkah eggs with a side of sour dough (not pictured) and was blown away. The balance of the lightly spiced and citrusy pickled beetroot medley along with the shanklish (a salty and rich crumbly cheese) was perfect. The dukkah eggs and asparagus really helped round out this meal too.

The coffee was also excellent. I had a single origin long black which was among the best I've ever had. I never have 2 coffees at breakfast (or at all really) but I had to get the house blend to compare to the single origin. Both were fantastic, however for me the single origin was on another level.

Finally, the owner and staff were all extremely friendly, professional and attentive. All in all a great experience, I'll definitely be returning soon.

Went there for a quick Saturday brunch and enjoyed breakfast roll, coffee and omelette. Nice service and even gave us a free brownie! Nicely cooked eggs with crispy bacon. Very delicious gooey brownie! Clean, nice surroundings and will go back.

Absolutely loved this cafe! The coffee was delightful and the breakfast was the best I have had in Moonee Ponds. The cafe was clean and neat and the service was great. If only more people knew about this hidden gem!

Just tucked away off the Main Street. It has great food, excellent coffee and outstanding service. Highly recommend!

Great food. Great service. Loved the free sparkling water. A little off the beaten track. If you blinked, you'd walk straight past it not realising. In a new building underneath a block of apartments. The boss was very accommodating and took my feedback well.

Love starting my day with North x Northwest. Whether it's a tea, their delicious hot chocolate or one of their popular breakfast burgers, the ultimate morning comfort food. Their breakfasts are my favourite - fresh ingredients, reasonable prices and lovely staff, what's not to love? I'm also now addicted to their cakes, especially the brownies - they're dangerously good!
Kelly ForagĆØs
I come to North x Northwest pretty regularly for my coffee as I work near by. I mean who wouldn't with sparkling water as the first thing that gets popped on your table. Definitely beats the standard tap water most cafes offer. It's a newly built cafe and it feels new and fresh which I like. It's trendy, bright and clean without being too trendy. The food follows the same tune. Although I haven't eaten a lot of their food, what I have eaten has been delish, but my colleagues are always bringing back amazing burgers and meals that make me drool with jealousy! The owner and staff always greet me by name, ask about my day and offer great service! Thanks heaps guys! Definitely the place that Moonee Ponds was missing!

Second time back here, loved it again! Had the smashed avo first time round, it was on point! This time around I opted for the simple eggs on toast with a side of avo, perfectly eggsecuted (sorry, had to!) - the side of beetroot relish is a nice touch too. My partner had the dukkah crusted eggs which were amazing, I'm definitely getting that next time!

Coffee was great, we finished it all off with the brownie which had rich dobs of peanut butter through it. Nice, soft and chocolatey without being too sweet. Perfect!

The owner and staff were lovely.

Will definitely be back again!

I was keen to try out this new cafe tucked away from the Puckleness of Moonee Ponds. Freshly opened and newly decked out, the vibe was inviting. Although quiet for a Saturday morning, it meant the food and coffee came promptly. Dining out for breakfast for me is about finding something I'm not inclined to whip up at home and good coffee and North offered this!
Hello. Imnikki
Barely a few months old, North x Northwest not only reminds me of Hitchcock but also Kanye West. Pop culture much? Thankfully service is not reminiscence of either. In fact the food could benefit from Yeezy's outlandish behaviour, it was lacking in style and substance. Don't get me wrong, the taste was fine, but nothing to differentiate them from the gazillion cafes in Melbourne. What might set them apart though, is the coffee. The barista makes a mean cup of coffee. My skinny latte left me with a nutty and chocolatey aftertaste, and my friend gave a thumbs up to the espresso.
