I’ll go so far to say it’s the best coffee in Melbourne that I’ve tried. Friendly staff, exceptional coffee and it’s a 2 minute walk from my place, what more could I ask?!

Easily the best coffee in Moonee Ponds. I work down the road and there has never been anything decent in the area, so I was wrapped when these guys opened up this year. Kevin and his crew provide super friendly service to compliment the flavour-filled brews and contemporary decor.

I absolutely love Top Notch Coffee. The staff is always friendly and positive. You will always be greeted with a big smile. The coffee is absolutely divine. I’ve never had a bad coffee from Top Notch Coffee, they get the taste and temperature absolutely right every time. Highly recommend.

I learnt from having a chat with the friendly staff that sparkling water cleans the pallet and allows you to enjoy the true taste (and joy) of coffee. Just pure awesome with a hint of finesse. I love this place and will stopover for another coffee as much as I can

Best cheese and tomato toastie I ever had! Coffee was great too. Whilst Moonee Ponds doesn’t offer much in the way of modern cafes, Top Notch is not just the best of a bad bunch, it’s actually very good and stands out in its own merit.

This is such a great addition to the Moonee Ponds district. Situated right next to the junction, it’s the perfect place to stop for a coffee before you catch the tram into the city. They’re open early too, so if you need coffee at 6am these people have you covered. The flavour and strength of coffee was spot on (and I’m one of those fussy coffee lovers). They also have a selection of snacks too, from egg and bacon sandwiches to danishes. A perfect little coffee shop.

this is must go coffee. a great addition to Moonee Pond and Ascot Vale area. their staff do care about coffee with amazing latte art. the interior design is stunning. Top notch brings fresh air to this area. Highly recommend people come over to this place
Best coffee this side of town hands down. As a former barista for over 10 years i can safely that this is how you do it. If you like Proud Mary coffee done consistently perfect, head to Top Notch. Staff are always friendly, polite and speedy.

Great place to have good coffee whilst waiting for the tram or bus in Moonee Ponds. The place was light and filled with plants, feeling less like a cafe and more like a dream dining area from Pinterest. We loved how our coffee came with their bean profiles. The staff were lovely and great at explaining the coffee bean profiles, which was a nice touch.
This place has added something very special to Moonee Ponds! I have been waiting for a coffee shop to open in my area that really makes me want to go back! Top notch is so beautifully set out and the interior is stunning! The quality of the coffee was also mind blowing and I was so pleased to see that they use MILK LAB almond milk because most coffee places around moonee ponds and ascot vale use almond breeze or don’t offer it at all! The staff were also very inviting and I will definitely be back! Very very pleased! Everyone head over to this place!!

After a heavy lunch, I was craving a nice cold brew coffee to refresh me on a muggy Melbourne day. After walking down Puckle Street and checking every cafe, I finally came across Top Notch Coffee right on the corner. The atmosphere was very relaxed and I enjoyed sipping my coffee in the cool whilst watching people go by outside.
The cold brew itself was very smooth and refreshing, with bright and floral tones. The gentleman behind the counter was very knowledgeable and friendly, and explained that the beans used for their cold brew gets rotated regularly. He gave my partner and I a sample of cold brew using different beans, which tasted more smooth and chocolatey. It was nice to be able to taste the difference and learn a bit more about the process!
Another nicety was the water station which had a delightful selection of still, ambient and sparkling water on tap.
Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Top Notch Coffee. The atmosphere, the service, and the coffee all get my tick of approval!
Okay I gotta say this has been my best find in Moonee Ponds as of yet. Firstclass coffee. Free sparkling water is just spot on. Great service. Flat white is literary the best I have ever had. Great job guys.

Cute cafe located on the corner of the busy intersection in Moonee Ponds. Love to come down before work to grab a coffee and absorb some positive energy from their friendly hardworking staff.
Would love to try their nicely arranged pastries and sandwiches too gorgeous to ruin the window display and devour.
Heard they did their chai amazing here, but it didn’t hit the spot for me. Aroma was there alright, but a bit heavy on the spices - made me choke a bit. Sweetness was just right, making it an warm cozy experience.
Their soy latte, however, was perfect! I should’ve asked for no sugar, because you can tell the drink was already sweet and creamy. Perfect ratio of the bitterness yet creamy note from the coffee beans that really wakes you up, to the creaminess from the soy milk.
