Best spot to enjoy the warm nice sunshine . Their chicken burger is the bomb! So delicious , portion is generous, service is fast and friendly . The do decent chai latte too . I always get either their chicken burger or the wagyu burger
Highly recommend!! Especially in outdoor setting in sunny days 😍
Good coffee and fabulous cake options that satisfy all tastes!!
In the middle of Queens park
First time coming to Curators Collective and certainly won't be the last! I had the French toast and it was delicious. It was really quite crunchy, which I haven't had before and I loved it. The milkshakes were delicious, the service was very friendly and the setting was great by the lake.
We've been here on sunny days. We've been here on rainy days.
Yesterday was a rainy and cold day. But inside it felt warm. A subtle little fan heater was doing its quiet work. And some blocks of firewood lent the imagination a hearty hearth.
From scrambled eggs, an avocado smash, and fries with smoothie, it went down nicely.
The staff are friendly.
On sunny days, eating at the outside tables, the birds can take an interest, but are not overly pushy.
Had the vegan fat hash browns. Food was really delicious! Especially the home made vegan sausage. Both food and coffee came out just slightly cooler than I'd like them to, but i'll definitely be going back.
In the middle of Queens Park sits a cute white cottage which is much a part of Melbourne's history. Built in 1892, the Curators Cottage has stood the test of time and is now a husband and wife owned cafe. Surrounded by lush greenery, a children's playground and lake, this cute cafe offers a wide range of cold press juices, smoothies, a traditional menu with vegan friendly choices and even 'Deth Shakes'; perfect for small family outings or friendly catchups.
It was a super busy day for them today which was unfortunate for us as it meant many items we wanted to order were already sold out. Nonetheless, what we did order came out relatively quickly despite how busy they were.
The 'Bill Murray' smoothie with passion fruit, Chia, protein, coconut milk, berries and mint was a nice filling drink with lots of fresh flavours running through. The ice coffee could've done with another shot of espresso (but that's just coffee lover me talking). Their pulled pork burger with smoked pulled pork and fries came out on a cute little wooden board. The pork was tender and juicy, though the expected flavours absorbed into the pork wasn't very apparent. Having said that, the combination of the pork with sweet potato, chipotle mayo and coleslaw did make for an overall tasty burger.
The Smashed Avo with soft goats cheese, poached egg and 7 seed toast was sprinkled with quinoa and mint, adding edge and texture to a traditional breakfast.
I've been here a few times now and staff have always been friendly and helpful. And their takeaway options means you can also grab a coffee and chill by the adjacent lake or under a shady tree. Perfect for days like today!
My order: Vegan BLT and a a strawberry shake (topped with fairy floss and coconut)
Pros: beautiful location, delicious food, great vegan menu, lovely staff
Cons: drinks didn't come out until halfway through our meals, table had previous customers dishes on it for a while too long, ran out of quite a few menu items.
Overall, did enjoy our experience and food at curators collective ☺️👍🏼
Hidden inside Queens Park, Curators Collective is one of those places that you need to know about otherwise you wouldn't know it existed. I am not sure how they popped up on my radar, as they had never posted a burger on their social media feed before my visit and I am not sure why because this burger was absolutely awesome!
Predominantly a healthy brunch spot with a heap of Gluten Free options, the burger and shake option for the naughty treat are 100% worth it. Soft Wagyu cooked the way it is supposed to be, perfectly melted cheese and the secret sauce brings it all together.
Options galore! If you are vegan as well!! Love the old style heritage building that is in the park. Have a great view of the lake while you eat. The shakes are spot on and the double wagyu beef burger is great! One small down may be the birds but they have been sorting that out! Will return for the breakfast fare!
Soon we were seated at a shady table. The service was friendly with our waitress making sure there were enough chairs. Sylvia was excited to see waffles on the menu, I wanted something savoury and Kathleen's son was off finding turtles in the nearby lake. There was something for everyone and we all enjoyed their meals.
Have been to CC many times for coffee and a few times for a meal. Always found found the staff to be helpful and very friendly. Coffee is always good and the setting is just magnificent.

This place shows a lot of promise and potential, just has a little way to go in getting there. With a stunning park for surrounds, curators collective has 20 or so menu items, 4 of which were sold out - big no no. The crumpets were light and fluffy but a lacking enough to of the sauce to really make it good. The pulled pork burger, whilst nice, was meant to come with 'sweet potato fries' which in reality was 4 fries stuffed into the burger. They somehoe lost the drink order first time around, however the waitress was very apologetic.
Have visited a number of times and food and service has been great. My two fussy eaters finish their food and love the kids shakes and smoothies!
Found this place hidden in Queens park at Essendon. I had a takeaway soy late here with their X-House M blend coffee. Loved it. Takes a while to get your coffee but it was worth the wait.
This is a lovely cafe in queens park- Perfect for families with young children. I only had the Bill Murray smoothie here which was really good and honestly I want to go back to try the milkshakes and food as they sounds and look amazing. It has a great relaxing and friendly atmosphere too.
Idyllic little café set in a rustic house right on the edge of Queen's Park Lake. Perfect for families with the playground nearby, as well as lots to explore around the lake. Beautiful views of the lake and an awesome atmosphere to dine in. Coffees aren't the best, but food is worth trying out here. Would recommend.
We went here for some breakfast with some friends. A great spot for families with children, located adjacent to a playground and duck pond.
The food was great in our opinion. The staff were very friendly and attentive; and were really great with the kids. At the 'hipster-end' of the scale, but the prices were not. The building is beautiful. The menu was smaller than most places, but it showed they want to specialise rather than being a 'jack of all trades'.
The breakfast croquettes were delicious, and a really big portion size, as were the very generously sized bacon sandwiches our friends had. My wife had the smashed avocado, and again was a very nice dish.
The only disappointment on the food side was the extremely limited children's menu. Only 4 options available, and all more lunch based than breakfast. As such we had to order extra from the breakfast side dishes options to create a suitable breakfast for the kids.
In all no complaints from us, and we will definitely be back when in the area.
Lovely staff! The wait on the food was around half an hour, even so the atmosphere is comfortable and we were delivered drinks within minutes of ordering, staff checked back every 10 minutes or so to ensure we were comfortable. Food was worth the wait, simple but delicious and filling! Lovely setting, sat at a window overlooking the lake.
Just quietly, this place does one of my favourite burgers in Melbourne and is like a little slice of hip heaven with beautiful views. Definitely not just for families!
As per usual, Curators Collective delivers. Staff are friendly, menu is seasonal and coffee is to die for. They make all their food with a lot of love and I always try something different from the menu. Come on a sunny day and sit outside over looking the lake!
Located in Queen's Park, right next to a playground, this cafe is a lovely place to sit outside and enjoy breakfast or lunch while your kids burn off some energy. Staff were friendly, food was good. After lunch we took a Sunday stroll around the lake and found another larger playground on the opposite side. Kids didn't want to leave.
