I had a lovely authentic thai dinner with my partner during our visit here. The flavours were fresh, strong and tangy. I’m so happy that the chef did not hold back on the chilli as it gave me the spicy kick I was so desperately seeking. The owners were very friendly and upon learning that I’m a chilli fiend gave me some of their homemade sambal (chilli paste) to sample! And boy, it tasted so good!! Can’t recommend this restaurant enough if you’re seeking for authentic Thai flavours 🥢
Would also like to add that the 3.7 rating is so deceptive. It’s definitely 5 🌟 and beyond!
Dee Dees Thai food blew my expectations. The flavours were authentic and not afraid of spice, my partner who is never satisfied with most restaurants definition of spice was a very happy camper. We loved the food here, fresh, tasty and not oily and we are happy to continue to support our little local, definitely a must try!
Reminds me of Thailand. The freshness, the aroma, the flavour, the texture and taste!!!
Oh yum. Slurp slurp slurp. Mouth watering just thinking about it
Fantastic service from the friendly owners. Their Khua Kling pork has an unique blend of herbs and dry curry and resembles Larb Gai. This is the 1st time I have ever tasted this in Melb and it was fabulous !! Their cooking is Northern Thai style and is more savoury than the typical Bangkok style Thai food we commonly see in Melb. The Son Tum is different as well and totally refreshing as compared to the typical Som Tum we come across. They include crunchy bean sprouts and vermicelli which blends in well with the green papaya, lime and salted crab. Dee Dee presents a refreshing and different taste palate to your typical Thai restaurant. The ambience is a cosy, homely little place not only popular with the locals but also those who travel afar to savour their northen Thai cuisine.
Delicious, fresh, authentic, bursting with complex flavour. We're lucky to have such high quality Thai as our local. Dee Dee is a wonderful host, thanks for giving us a taste of your hometown food.
Just went for first time, really really good. Friendly service and atmosphere, and the food was delicious! Really fresh, and minimal oil, cooked to perfection
My score (possibly a slightly generous) 4.0 stars. I had a solo lunch here on Tue 19th Oct. Small interior, simple decor. Service nice by young woman out front, the female manager/owner a bit shouty in the kitchen (not a good “look”).
3 vego curry puffs plus a roti w peanut sauce (lunch combo $8) – Curry puffs small but nice. Interesting sweet chilli sauce, clear, zippy, very good! Roti wasn't particularly flaky but good nonetheless (not oily either), the peanut sauce very good - dark and chunky. Overall, good value.
Panang curry veg w rice (lunch special $10). I asked for medium heat and it was pretty hot/spicy (a good thing). Curry was full of a range of very nice al dente veg and a little tofu. Very fragrant curry sauce (lotso kaffir lime) and not too sweet. Very good except a bit salty for mine. Great value!
I was the only dine-in, but there was some takeaway. My food was slow coming out, but the TA took an eternity (I felt sorry for them)…
Excellent service and great authentic and quality Thai food here! Definitely worth trying, with good pricing.
Amazing service, very friendly staff, and most importantly really delicious Thai food.
We ordered chicken satay skewers for entree, they were tasty and crispy. We also had two mains, 1 was Pad Gra Pow and this was delicious and not overly spicy. #2 was Pad Kee Mao and this was just as delicious as the first. Dish 2 comes with a lemon wedge, our advice is don't add lemon to this dish as it tastes better on its own. I also met the owner Tanya and she was friendly and inviting. The restaurant is located across the street from Woolworths and has ample parking with just a few steps toward this Thai Sanctuary. Highly Recommended!
Love the vibe here. Friendly staff. Authentic delicious thai food. We ordered sticky rice, Green curry with seafood and minced pork with chilli. Green curry was so creamy and flavorful. Minced pork was very spicy but we love it. Can't stop eating it even though spicy. Happy to come back again!
Just had a wonderful experience at Dee Dee Thai, we ordered the masaman Thai curry with slow cooked beef, and it was absolute--melt in your mouth perfect. We also tried their pad Thai.
We can't wait to return and try what else they have to offer.
We met the owners, the chef Tania is a lovely Thai lady, who cooks authentic foods and made us feel at home (even with two little babies in tow).
Luke was warm and hospitable as front of house, and added to the pleasant dining out experience.
Thanks a bunch!
flavourbomb with every mouthful!! 😝every dish was seasoned just right and the heat from the chillies enhanced the flavour to another level!!! definitely a hidden gem of Moonee Ponds 😋 The owner was lovely and very happy to recommend dishes according to your likes and craves.
Really delicious food with great service. Thai milk tea was pretty sweet, but I have a massive sweet tooth so I still loved it. The crispy tofu, tom yum soup and larb were all delicious and fresh. Made for a fantastic way to finish off the day. Can't wait to come back here with friends. Thanks for the great meal!
Very nice friendly great menu good selections. Nice location opposite woollies on Moonee Ponds. Great prices Been a number of times always great
Today is the first time we visited this restaurant. As residents of Moonee Ponds I wish I had discovered this place sooner because the food is really good and the ambiance is nice. Looking forward to trying out different Thai dishes ~ the slow cooked beef was amazing.
Best thai food. Authentic and delicious. Haven't had a bad meal. The panang curry was by far the most delicious I've ever had. The staff are lovely and remember you even after one visit. Also happy to explain meals if you're unsure. Definitely recommend.

Really enjoyed dinner here. Food was tasty and true to food I've eaten in Thailand in terms of flavours (maybe overly spicy if you're not into too much heat). Service was VERY friendly which is always nice to see. Would happily come again.
The food at Dee Dee's is authentic and more importantly delicious. It is clear that they care about serving great food and providing outstanding customer service. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want tasty authentic Thai cuisine.
I have been to this establishment numerous times and tried various different dishes on each occasion , each time the food was amazing , we were made welcome on arrival .I have recommended Dee Dee's to all my friends and family .
Lovely Thai food delivered to my door speedily. I ordered the tofu entree and the red chicken curry. Both were delicious. Would highly recommend Dee Dee and will order from them again.
I saw this place open recently, (I work nearby), and decided to go with my wife, (who is Thai), to try their food. They offer a good range of Thai food and all the dishes we ordered were well prepared. We had Fish cakes, Som Tum Bu Pla Ra, Pad See Ew, Yum Nam Zod. We enjoyed all the dishes - it felt like we were in Thailand again! Highly recommended for anyone who likes Thai food.
A great variety of Thai food accompanied with a clean and spacious dining area. The staff here are very welcoming and go out of there way to make sure everything is okay with your meal! Definitely try the Pad Soft Shell Crab Karee!
I was near by looking for some lunch and saw this had some positive reviews so we dropped in for lunch. Immediately the service was quick and friendly, the restaurant reminded me of my past Thailand trips and they were also accommodating with my 2 year old son. We ordered the Dee Dee red duck, Kid's fried rice, Pad Kee Mao noodle, Som Tum Thai & Jasmine rice. All were on a medium heat for spice and the food came out quickly. The food is honestly authentic flavours from Thailand and so delicious. Probably the best Thai north of the city in my opinion. Would highly recommend
Yummy, comforting thai food. Always love to come back for their pad thai😍. A friend also recommends their fried chicken & sticky rice.

This is without doubt the BEST Thai restaurant I've ever tried. The Pork Crispy Basil with Preserved Egg was Absolutely Fantastic. Just as I remember it. Pad Si Ewe is just Delicious. Great flavour and Perfect Noodle. Every dish was Amazing. Thank you Dee Dee Thai. Can't wait to come back again.
As an ex-chef and food nerd, this place is well deserving of 5 stars. Tania and her family are so lovely and welcoming- you feel like you’re just coming over for dinner when you arrive!
My partner and I have been twice in the past week since discovering and have been so pleased each time.
Highly recommend the cashew stir fry and pad see ew!
Thank you so much! Will come again soon!
Lovely atmosphere and delicious meals. Happy customer.
Popped in after reading menu at the door. Clean, tidy little place. Ordered many dishes, entree and mains for takeaway. The young man who served was polite and really friendly.
The food was delicious. Fresh ingredients, beautiful flavors. Like going back to Thailand. Thank you Chef Bird for your beautiful food and the staff for your friendly service.
