This is a sensational restaurant! We arrived on Saturday night without a booking with our baby, the host was more than accommodating and got us a table quickly, he was lovely! All the staff were very friendly. The menu is simple but packs a punch as well as having lots of specials on offer too! The portion sizes are generous but i likes their were sizing options, not all people want to eat huge portions. They are well setup to serve people quick, fresh and hot food.
Stand out for us was the jalapeño poppers! My husband and I can’t agree on what meat is in them but it was to die for! But everything was great and we will definitely return
One of the best feeds I've had in a long time, can't wait till my next visit, would highly recommend to anyone, how some previously gave this place 1 star mystifies me, must be a veggi, well done great venue
This was my first visit & I am very impressed. Awesome atmosphere great service & I love love loved the food!! I would highly recommend this place to everyone
Stumbled across this place while googling "bbq restaurant" wow food was amazing! Will definitely be coming back!
Definitely a hidden gem, great atmosphere and the food is very consistent with flavour and quality.
Staff very friendly
Food damn good!!!
Ambience awesome!!
Awesome place to relax with a group of friends, enjoy some great food and enjoy a drink or two!!!
Great food, relaxed, friendly atmosphere, and fabulous service. A hidden gem!
The food is amazing & great value especially for my family of 5.. The staff are awesome too...
So happy about my experience there.....recommended by my friends and totally loved it ....ordered the Jamaican fried chicken and Jalapeño poppers which were specials that night along with other dishes .....totally loved it....
This place is amazing. Tasty meals, great service and so comfortable and roomy. The pulled pork was just delicious.
Great place, Great food and i will be going back there. Very friendly staff.

We headed in on a Saturday for an early dinner. We booked ahead and noticed that most tables had reservations. We were seated nearby the Kid’s Corner. Other than the kid’s corner, the other remarkable feature was the bar. It gives a really great atmosphere to the venue and the “Beer” lights look fantastic. They’ve definitely have a great atmosphere and most noticeably there were other families there at the same time dining.
We loved to try a little bit of everything and that’s why we usually order a platter when it comes to BBQ. We ordered the Family Fun Platter for $65. It includes 200g beef brisket, 300g pulled pork, two small mac & cheese, cheese kransky, six chicken wings, basket of chips, white bread and a large coleslaw. We also ordered a potato salad, as I knew my kids were likely to prefer this over coleslaw. At the cashier, I also collected our side plates and condiments to return to our table.
Our platter arrived promptly and a couple of the sides followed shortly after. The plating looked really appetising and we were keen to dig in. It was all delicious and the highlights were the beef brisket and the mac and cheese. My daughter absolutely favoured the brisket and ate most of our serving! The mac and cheese had a delicious sharp taste and was the first thing that my son finished. The flavours of the kransky, pulled pork and chicken wings were delicious too. All of the slow cooked meat was perfection. I also absolutely loved the potato salad too. My son who is usually a grazer, tried a variety of the items from the platter and ate a substantial amount for him.
While we had brief dealings with staff, due to no table service; all staff members were friendly and helpful! This is a genuinely family friendly venue and definitely up there for us! We highly recommend heading down!
You enter Big Pig Little Pig as a little hungry pig and leave as a big pig with a bulging belly and immense satisfaction from devouring a most amazing meal. The cavernous space is filled with ravenous diners on a Saturday night, and the fun and casual vibe adds to the experience.
The beef brisket is something not be missed. Melt-in-your mouth, and absolutely bursting with flavours, 100g might not be enough. The pork ribs and pork belly were just as succulent, and seasoned and marinaded to perfection.
Hot crispy chips did not disappoint either, and the cornbread with its buttery moist texture and crisped edge is stunning when paired with a generous smear of butter. The crunchy popcorn chicken is addictive so make sure you order more to share, and the decadent mac and cheese is one of the best around.
I could not fault anything here – delicious food, great service, value for money, and with an excellent variety of beers on tap to wash down the amazing feed, I highly recommend this place to everyone.
We've beem here twice for dinner. Both times service was good and the food came out fast. If you're after bbq meats this is a good place to try. Relaxing atmosphere and a small kids play area.
In my search for American BBQ lead me to this place. Good find. The atmosphere is very relax. The food is great, the platter was enough to feed three of us. The brisket is a little dry but it has good fat content which is beautiful. All and good place to sit down with friends and eat!
Extremely busy and understaffed. Food came very slowly. Waited for an hour until everything came together. But!!! Hand down the best American BBQ pork ribs in Melbourne!!! No regrets, worth the wait!
The atmosphere was relaxed. Staff were friendly.
The Brisket was tender and very tasty. The Potato Salad and Coleslaw were both nice .
It was a good experience.
Tucked away in the business district of Moorabbin. Big Pig Little Pig is a hidden gem that serves up simple American BBQ at its best. With a range of BBQ available, this place will cater to your meaty needs.
Offering everything from Smoked Brisket, Pulled Pork, Sausage Links to Corn Bread and a range of other sides.
We’ve headed down here a few times and its never disappointed. Our personal favourites are the sausage, brisket and corn bread. With a friendly staff the concept is simple, choose your meat by weight in 100 gram allotments it doesn’t sound like much but it adds up (excuse the pun) and then your sides. From Mac & Cheese to corn bread and slaw. There is no shortage of food on offer here.
Once seated don’t expect table service here, when you’re ready head up to the courter and put in your order, follow up with a drink at the bar and wait for for your order to come to you… you won’t be disappointed.
You can’t go wrong with this menu and don’t be afraid to try a few different things.
We recommend it all.
This place is absolutely awesome !!! Food brilliant beer brilliant #drunklife brisket brilliant the chicken I could of eaten 2 buckets of it !! The $30 per person group feed is the way to go well worth the money but I’m going back for a bucket of chicken drumsticks and wings next time!!
Very Good overall. The burnt tips were very good. Good strong flavours. Ribs were one of the better ribs that I have eaten in OZ. Smokey and soft. Could have been cooked longer to fall off bone. Onions rings are also good, not too oily. Great beer, service was just ok.
Nice American bbq restaurant.
Brisket would be our pick
Atmosphere is nice and wide selection of beer on tap
Would recommend for a weekend eat with family
Great place!
Food is a little slow, but delicious.
Special mention to the great vegetarian options(vegan options too!)! It's nice at a meat-centric place like this. The bean chilli is excellent, but I found the pulled mushrooms a little same-y after a few bites.
You get a lot of food for a very reasonable price. It's good for groups as well.
Good selection of beers on tap. The venue was big and the fitout suited the theme, not too loud, and a good level of service throughout the night.
Dined for dinner with as a large group with a car club. I ordered the beef brisket (100g) with sides of cornbread & mac/cheese. Loved the brisket (melted in your mouth) & cornbread, standouts for me. Service friendly. Will return as want to try other menu items.
Recently Discovered this master piece. The area seems to be a hot spot for hidden food gems involving lots of meat and rustic fit outs with plenty of street parking for your 18wheeler or motorcycle club, however its mostly families visiting when I have been. They do what they are good at, not a massive menu, but its super big on flavor, start with the brisket, The small amount of fat is orgasmic in flavor, I want to come and eat it every week, everything else tasty and you wont feel no greasy after taste, a number of sauce options on hand and ample drinks to wash it down.
My friend Samuel recommended Big Pig Little Pig to me yesterday and that very evening we got takeaway from here and it was seriously MAGnificent!! We ordered a Taste Tickler platter and tickle it did. Let's just say it was an Epicurian delight full of indulgence! The brisket was tender and a little crispy on the outside; the rib was fantastic; the chicken wings WOWSERS and the mac 'n' cheese had a lovely mustardy twist. We just kept eating and eating. What a surprise to find this in the heart of the darkest industrial district of Moorabbin. It lit up the dim street like the greatest of surprises. I can't wait to return!
We love this place! Southern American style food like cornbread, Mac and cheese, slaw and slow cooked meats. Buy by the 100/150g and match it with a great real ale or lager. Service is good and the food comes out quick. Really enjoyed it.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Definitely not for the faint hearted that's for sure. Their selection of meats and sides are to die for. The owner/workers were very helpful with helping us customise the meal to our liking which was great because between two people, we wanted to try it all.. And that we did! Definitely has a food baby by the end of the meal but what's a good feed without one right???
Love this place , great place to come on a Friday night after work
Had our usual chicken wings , pulled pork and various sides
They never disappoint, staff are always fantastic and food arrived in under 15 mins
I have been here a few times. Each time it gets better. Had the Piggy Plate, all the meat on it just fell apart, very tender and plenty of flavour. They have a heap of beers on tap, and the bar tender will happily give you a taste to decide which beer you want to get. Great live music on Sunday afternoons as well.
Really great food, value, and overall vibe.
Had a couple of work Xmas functions here and loved it.
Quality and quantity of food is great, staff are lovely, plenty of drink options, and no one left hungry. Excellent rendition of Southern style BBQ at a much more affordable price point than other places. Definitely will return.
I had the jerk chicken with a potato salad side. My friend had the pulled pork, cransky beef with a coleslaw side. I have to say all of the above are great for sharing over a drink while listening to the live music (which was also great) food was amazing. Just the right amount of spice for me. I would say this place is a hidden gem, easy on the pocket. Popular with families of all ages and I look forward to returning :)
Best chicken wings I've had. The pork shoulder and mac and cheese were also really good. Food came out really fast & the place had a cool interioir. Will be back!
Went here for the first time last night with a friend. Located in the industrial part of Moorabin, a place that looks like a former factory building.
Chicken wings was delicious, pork, ribs, kransky sausage was delicious. Will definitely come back again.
I thoroughly enjoyed lunch here with friends. We had the pulled pork, brisket, and ribs. Also tried the Mushrooms, which were a great alternative to meat, and tasted just as good as the pulled pork. Im keen to return for dinner on a Saturday night, considering they have a live band.
A very enjoyable bbq experience had here. The selection is fantastic the meat is well cooked and packed with flavour and the mac and cheese is one of the best I've tasted. Be prepared to queue as there's only one point of sale. Venue also has a decent tap list as well.
Really enjoyed our visit here. American bbq style very tasty and good craft beer. Atmosphere is good with live music and outdoor area for the sunny days. Only issue we had was slow service and chicken wings that arrived a quite a while after we finished all food.
Not sure why the rating is so low - maybe the food is inconsistent? We showed up on a Saturday night, no booking and the place was packed. Luckily, a reservation was cancelled last minute and we managed to get the spot. I'd say this is one of the best American style bbq spots in Melbourne. Not as good as Dexter, but it's cheaper and a lot closer for those who live on this side of Melbourne. Pork ribs were juicy, tender and fatty. Pulled pork was pretty nice and smokey though nothing outstanding. Brisket was inconsistent, the fatty parts and meat near it were really really nice but other parts lacked moisture. Nice atmosphere to enjoy with a group of people
This is probably the best BBQ I've had in Melbourne. The pork ribs were smokey and quite tender. The beef brisket is hit or miss, sometimes tender and juicy, sometimes it was a bit dry, but it's a hard cut to do right. Serving sizes are generous and prices are moderate. They also have a nice selection of beer on tap. I would recommend coming here with a large group of friends and come hungry.
Was craving American BBQ and thought to try this place. Located among a lot of warehouses we thought we were in the wrong place till we saw inside and how busy the place was. The place had good vibes and the decor was rustic and really nice. The food was great for a decent price. We orders the Tickler pack and was so full. The Brisket was my favourite and the coleslaw. The Mac and cheese and the pork ribs weren’t as great as everything else. But will definitely return.
A wonderfully unique warehouse venue filled with an array of delicious smoked meats!!! So many Gluten Free options which was just fantastic! Be prepared to walk away with Smokey fingers as those ribs are finger licking good! Wouldn’t recommend this place for a vegan!
Four of us shared a ‘Piggy Plate’ which was spot on!!!
We even indulged in some delicious desserts....(not GF)
A great bar and drinks menu as well 👌🏼
Second time here and the best out of the four BBQ type joints I’ve been to. Brisket fell apart perfectly and chicken wings were full of flavour. Surprise was the vege chili bowl. Love the relaxed atmosphere for a Sunday luncheon with family and friends.
Nice hidden gem in Moorabbin. Lovely ambience in the restaurant. Staff were nice and helpful. Food was lovely the pork belly was divine. The chips were just about inedible from too much salt. Less is better allowing the customer to add more if wanted. Lots of different condiments. Great variety of beers served. I was impressed that there was live music Sunday afternoons. Outside tables available and I'm sure once they get through the teething problems others experienced after reading their reviews it'll be a great place to return to. Remember staff your attitude is what makes or breaks a business and you only work there. If I had read the reviews before we went we would not have come, but I prefer to make up my own mind.
Try as much as you can it's all delicious ..Great selection of craft beers. Terrific old factory renoed to make a cool afternoon hang out. Love this place.
I went with friends on a Friday night.
Positives:
The place was packed and had a great atmosphere. We booked a booth for 8pm. We ordered a bit of everything and shared. Good value.
The meats were all great especially the brisket and pulled pork. The onion rings, coleslaw and chicken wings were great too. My favorite was the Mac n cheese, I couldn’t stop eating it. There was an excellent drink selection. We got dessert to go and it was tasty too.
Negatives:
The ranch dressing had dill in it which no one on our table liked. The wooden bench seats were uncomfortable as there was no cushioning at all.
The bread rolls didn’t have butter so were a bit dry.
Overall had a great night and ate heaps. We will be back.
This is the greatest venue!!! Me and my partner have been coming here every week since it opened and last week they hosted our very special wedding day. We couldn’t have imagined the night going any smoother! Kristy and her team were fabulous and went above and beyond to help us with every aspect of the organising. We cannot thank you enough!!!
Great place, we’ve been back twice already and so have the friends we’ve taken with us
Pulled pork melt in your mouth and Brisket has a distinctive Smokey flavor
Food is ordered at the register and brought to the table very quickly, you don’t have actually much interaction with the staff, although, they have been helpful when recommending any of the beers
Been here twice now and it's always crazy busy and loud but the food is great American grub! The corn bread here is yum and the pulled pork is divine. Mac n cheese was nice but fairly bland, brisket yummy, pork belly beautiful and moist and the onion rings rock!! Kids friendly. Highly recommend booking in advance.
Very cool little place tucked in amongst warehouses! Gets quite crowded on the weekends and you have to book in advance. Try not to get there too late as some of the crowd favorites are quick to go! Great place to go for a variety of meats!
UPDATE - 13.04.2019
Came back again after a bit of time away. Food was as good as it was 2 years ago.
A great set up to chill out & have a bite to eat and some drinks with friends. Good selection of beers on tap. The corn bread and chicken wings are delicious. Not too sure about the pork spare ribs though, I think it needs to be more tender and have more flavour. With their very reasonable price list, however, you can't go wrong.
Fun place................. American style eatery/shed full of big food, big smells Great for family get together, best to get in early otherwise quite a wait
Definitely be back
Under the covers of a tin roof within a converted warehouse, Big Pig Little Pig entices with a great selection of smoky meats inspired by true American BBQ.
We attended on a weekday night and the place was almost full, so booking ahead may be a good idea. The setting is industrial Western, tailor made for the meals served on big boards and platters.
Service at the counter is approachable and friendly. The bar screams 'Beer!' but the selection is much larger than that.
The menu has defined platters for those who want to share or want a taste of a few things, or each of the meats can be orders separately by weight. Keep a keen eye on the amount though, everything is delicious and you may run short on carriage space if you indulge on too much of one thing. Outstanding place to share a meal, drink and a good chin wag. Left with no regrets, there is always the next time!
Came with a reservation for a group of seven and asked about the set menu prices per head. Received some great service from a female who I think may have been the manager, not sure. Anyway, super helpful and allowed three of us to get the $40 a head option each. Kransky, fried chicken wings, brisket, pulled pork and chicken, pork ribs, plus three sides and some chips to share and a few pickles. Meat was yum, more freely available sauces would've been nice but other than that, was pretty good experience :)
Pure, unadulterated, American-style mac 'n' cheese from southside's latest barbecue joint, Big Pig Little Pig. I was concerned we hadn't ordered enough of the stuff, but turns out it's rich af, especially when paired with the big ol' meat mountain in the background. Mmm, what a meal. Defintely in the running for best barbecue I've tried outside of the US.
First time visit with a seasoned diner of this establishment and my American partner.
Chicken wings were very succulent, the waiter recommended some sweet-ass sauces for wings and bbq meat. I loved all the hot sauces. The sides were the best part though. Little cups of heaven. This is authentic American BBQ.
Very reasonably priced also.
This is a really great American BBQ place in the heart of Industrial Moorabbin - an area which is not short of interesting foodie destinations (Fat Bob's, Marko's, 2 Brothers, DakDak, Cool Bean Kitchen). In the early days they hadn't quite figured out their service but I'm glad to say that they have improved - you order at the counter and they bring your selection to the table.
On the few times I have been, I have ordered the Brisket with different sides including potato salad, corn & bean salad, coleslaw, corn bread and house made pickles. All very hearty food at a good price. Great selection of beers on tap too.
Big Pig Little Pig also has an excellent atmosphere, and is suitable for going out with friends and young kids (with lots of space to spread out). The kids meals are great value too.
Keep it up!
Came here for with a very large party. Food was great but being with gym buffs the food could not come out quick enough. I would like to come back with the family and sit down and enjoy. The place smells of smoked meat.... YUM. Hidden amongst the industrial part of Moorabbin this is a great place to bring the family on a Friday night or friends on a Saturday.
Not really sure how this place could get a negative review unless you don't know what American BBQ is? This has probably been the best Q I have had in Melbourne bar The Gem in Collingwood. I had the ribs, link sausage and fried chicken and it was all top notch with really good smoke flavour through the ribs and sausage. The rub in the ribs is outstanding and while some traditionalists won't like the fact it's cooked on electric pellet smokers as opposed to a charcoal setup you can't fault the food, clearly they get volume and consistency from the pellet smokers. The lads had much the same as me but added brisket to theirs and it was seriously good brisket, I imagine this could at times be slightly dry but that's part and parcel of trying to keep brisket warm for a long period of time as opposed to a BBQ at your house. Awesome drinks selection with a great range of on tap beers, the fit out in the venue is awesome and very similar to American Smokehouses. Staff are super friendly and can't wait to go back again.
I love that industrial Moorabbin has so many hidden gems in the area to discover. Visited Big Pig Little Pig with some work colleagues one night after work, and it's a perfect, spacious venue that offers plenty of conversation over some smoked American style BBQ meat.
Based on the size of our group we opted to buy the 100g of all the different kinds of meats so we could try a bit of everything. This place has a very communal feel to it, and great drinks selections. The only thing I found a bit odd was the 'rules' on the wall that included clearing up your own table.
That was awesome and just down the road. The Brisket is incredibly moist with a light smoke flavour. The smoke sausage was the best I have eaten. Well done Big Pig, much better than Le Bon Ton!
If you like BBQ, or even if you're just in the area to buy twinkies at USA Foods, I'd highly recommend a stop here.
Industrial style, there's a great deal of space and communal tables inside, yet it doesn't feel overwhelming in size and still conveys warmth which is often difficult with this style of venue. Staff are polite, funny and chatty about the available beers and food.
Ordering smoker meats by the 100g is always a good option but being in a group we went for the $70 piggy plate - more than enough for the four of us. Everything was delicious, particularly enjoyed the pulled pork and sausage link. If you're a fan of corn bread I'd recommend that as a side.
Check it out, super casual in atmosphere and family friendly too.
Can't for the life of me work out why this place is rated so low! This is our third visit here and it has been busy every time we have been. I can't really find the words to describe how tasty the meat is - like nothing I have ever eaten before! Great selection of beers on tap which varies regularly.
Went here yesterday with family group of 13 Adults and 2 toddlers. Loved it! We got share platters of Taste Ticklers and Family Fun and everyone found the food to be tasty, succulent and smokey! Even the sides of slaw, potatoe salad and bean salad (which i want to try and make) were nice additions to the platters. Jugs of beer and jugs of one particular cocktail of Purple Pig washed everything down ☺. No complaints, helpful and friendly staff and we will go back! 👍
Looking For The Perfect Bite
+4.5
What a surprise to find such scrumptious food in Moorabbin.
The brisket was divine, soft and smokey. We upped our order for ribs to 300g, they were spicy and tender. We ordered mac'n'cheese, pickles, cornbread, coleslaw and fries as sides and then struggled to finish it all. A great range of beers and a small but interesting wine list made it difficult to choose what to drink with our smokey bounty. Thankfully the vanilla stout and Pinot Grigio were great choices.
Can't wait to come back and try the wings!
Great staff, well priced, nice food and venue. Pulled pork and brisket were great. Everything else was a bit meh. The wings needed a bit more kick and the ribs needed a bit more meat. Would go back.
Great value and venue. They have a small kids area with an air hockey table. But that's it. The food is cheap but you have to clear your own tables.
A really nice looking building in the industrial Moorabin area - spacious and inviting. Had the pulled pork, pork ribs and chips, which were good without being excellent. Pulled pork was great, but ribs need to be smokier and more flavoursome and the chips were a bit tired and plain. The "get up and order when you're ready" doesn't quite work well when there is a lack of menus and options are only written on one wall (which we happened to be sitting quite far from!) Other than that, the staff are friendly and selection of beer on tap is fantastic.
Went hear for the first time tonight. All I can say is this place is amazing from the moment we walked
in, the staff are friendly and very helpful. The food is amazing. We got the family feast and wow all the pork and brisket and chicken. It was cooked perfectly and so full of flavor the meat just melts in your mouth. We will so be going back for more
Fanbloodytastic!!!
Go there now!
Great selection of beers and meat, meat and more meat. Friendly helpful staff
Will definitely be going down there regularly
Went for lunch but at lunchtime they don't offer a full menu and you have to order from a window. Had a brisket sandwich and wings and both were brilliant, just wish they were serving more variety at lunchtime (pulled pork was also on offer, but that's it), would like to have seen their spare rib game and tried some smoked sausages too.
The brisket was amazing and for $8 I was happy with the quantity of meat that came, but the menu didn't give any indication that it was a sandwich.
I'll try dinner at some point, my score is for lunch only.
Another quality place hidden in Moorabbin's industrial area. Family friendly bar with meat, meat and meat. I got the meat platter with a few sides. Lovely, cooked well, but not filling enough. American in appearance but un-American (ie stingy) in quantity - especially the sides. Would highly recommend if you're not hungry.
Loved the pork ribs and charcoal grilled chicken. The beef brisket was a little dry, but still tasty. And the chicken wings - it's really hard To go wrong G there! Massive options at the bar and very well priced all round. I shared the taste tickler. I would get ribs and sides next time. Great ribs, but I've had better Worth the visit if you live or are in the area. Probably not worth the drive if you're not. All up, a thumbs up for me! 👍🏻
Big Pig, Little Pig, a converted warehouse in the industrial guts of Moorabin with big booths, big boys, big beers and big platters of delicious meat! It’s a great spot, beautifully set up in the middle of the warehouses and offices, it’s a little meat lovin’ haven. The proposition is simple, if you want to eat, come on by! Grab a tray and get your meat grooves on with Brisket, Smoked Chicken, Pulled Pork and Spare Ribs and grab some sides with cute little paper pots of mac ‘n’ cheese, corn ‘n’ beans, pickles, coleslaw, smoked bacon or a bucket of wings!
Went here for lunch, got the brisket burger with slaw and a side of chips. Good selection of hot sauces, with a good kick as well. Brisket was really delicious. Only downside is that on a winter day in Melbourne it isn't the best to be sitting outside. Would get take away though. Highly recommend if you're in the area.
Do yourself a favour
If you are a man, you must come here.
Had the Taste tickler plate with the missus, full as a goog. Don't go past the Mac and cheese side, delicious and smoky.
Touch cold, so bring a jacket, but definitely being put into rotation!
we came mid week for a 'nice to share' platter. Meat was cooked to perfection, slow cooked with a smoky flavour. Salads were fresh and varied, I would have liked a slightly bigger salad portion though, I felt like the meat needed a fresher rather than creamy salad. The service was great, cool place and the beer selection was good too. well priced and really good option for the area
Came on a Monday night - wasn't busy at all. Easily found a seat and had some drinks, bit disappointed with the variety on tap. There was only one beer available and one cider. Food was pretty good, bean salad was a favourite. Assume the atmosphere is much better when it's busy.
Helen and I went to Moorabbin to pick up some rustic furniture during our lunch time. As we had to fit lunch in also, we were a little stressed with what to eat given such limited time! We thought to ourselves, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. On the way to the furniture warehouse we noticed some tables and chairs on the corner in the instrustrial area, along with some synthetic grass. There were people eating outside, we weren't really sure what they were having so we vowed to come back after we picked up our furniture.
When we got back we noticed it was an American style BBQ place which was opened for lunch till 2:30PM. I had a quick peek inside and saw some beers on taps, and a bigger dining area. We didn't have access to any seats inside. What a shame it was all closed off! Seems like during lunch time, they've gone for a very simplistic approach with outdoor seating and a food truck style ordering window.
$8 a roll sounds like a decent price as I usually spend way more for lunch. I ordered the smoked chicken roll and Helen got the pulled pork one. When it came out it looked more like a burger than a roll. I was under the impression that rolls were generally longer and burgers were round? I could be wrong though. A Gatorade to share and all this was $20 for two people! It's damn hard to get lunch for $10pp these days, so I appreciate a good deal.
So how does it taste you ask? Pretty freaken good! Both the meats were soft, and flavoured beautifully. I couldn't decide which one I liked more, maybe the chicken because that's my favourite meat, but there's really nothing in it. The coleslaw and pickles went a treat with the meat as it provided that soury hit. The addition of these two ingredients makes the roll feel not as 'heavy'. I do enjoy a good burger (or roll), but a lot of them make me feel so full and bloated that I don't like the feeling afterwards. No such problem with this one, as the pickled veggies balance out the meatiness perfectly! The roll was also not sweet at all. They offer an array of sauces such as tomato, bbq and chilli sauce. I don't like to contaminate my roll with any 3rd party sauces but the option is there for you. The quantity didn't look like a lot but I was more than content, and didn't get hungry again until 7PM that night. Good sign of a filling lunch as I normally get hungry around 5PM if lunch is not sufficent.
Even though there were heaps of positives about this place, there are a couple of dislikes which worked against the Big Pig Little Pig lunch session. It all centers around the environment. Whilst it looks nice and all, being forced to sit outside has exposed us to one of my worst fears - WASPS! As soon as one wasp scouts out the food, they bring their wasp friends and families along, next thing you know we're fighting for our lives! We looked around and it was all industrial so there was no other place to sit and enjoy this beautiful roll. Helen and I scoffed down our rolls like we hadn't eaten for days! I would rather get indigestion than get stung by one of these yellow monsters! The other thing is when the sun is beaming down, only half the tables get shade. Since there's no umbrellas or anything to provide shade for the other tables, everyone's fighting for the tables close to the shop. Lucky some people left on one of these premium tables, otherwise we would have felt the full wrath of the sun.
If you're a pretty outdoorsy person (which we obviously aren't), then drop by and grab yourself some cheap quality lunch! Next time my strategy would be to maybe fold up a cardboard box to use as a mini dining table, and enjoy these rolls in the car! Either way, we'll do whatever it takes, cause the food was tasty and we're coming back!
Once word - WOWZA! If you like American style BBQ & meat in general - this hidden gem in industrial Moorabbin is your place! The flavours in these meats are incredible & transport your mouth to the US. The beef brisket bursting with a smokey slap in the mouth really blew my mind. And that Mac & Cheese - my followers know what Mac & Cheese truly means to me... This did not disappoint. Only negative - food wasn't super hot, more warm but I didn't care with these flavours. The warehouse style, casual decor really suits the area, food & theme. Overall, I adoreeee it & will be back a-sap!
I came here for dinner. Great atmosphere, and yummy food. The salads are pretty small for the price, but very tasty. Can't wait to come back with friends.
Decent meat platter for two people. Depending how hungry you are of course! Pulled pork was juicy. The brisket was tender with the fatty bits. Pork ribs had awesome flavour. Just make sure to get heaps of extra sauce, it's quite good! Chips were not and crispy.
Only caveat was that the platter arrived slightly lukewarm, would have been more awesome if it arrived hot.
Really awesome service, staff were super friendly and really helpful. Drinks were great and atmosphere was perfect, music wasn’t too loud and the tables are spaced well so we didn’t feel like we were sitting on top of fellow patrons. The food was delicious and prices are quite reasonable.
The food was delicious. We had the Piggy Plate, the fried chicken wings and the smoked chicken wings. Both the wings were amazing and to die for. The brisket remains in my mind super tasty, and the sauce it came with was da bomb. Would defo recommend this place. Oh, kid friendly for sure.
By far the best restaurant around! Great atmosphere, wonderful staff and the food is the best USA style food that I've had - even after spending months in Texas, trying different Texas BBQ all around, I'd not eaten at a place where everything was absolutely on point!
We came in by chance, not knowing how spectacular it would be and then decided to go back again the next night because we couldn't stop thinking about the deliciousness! Thank you so much!
A nice casual place to hang out with friends and enjoy tap beers alongside American style bbq meats.
We ordered a selection of items from the menu to share such as cornbread and southern fried chicken. Everything was fantastic and cost around $80 all up including two tap beers.
Parking was a breeze being located in a quiet industrial area.
Enjoyed the food and enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. Cheers!
Always good food and beers on tap here. Love the smoked meat flavour they have. And a fav is the chicken popcorn. It's a must try. The staff are all so friendly and chatty which is great. Check it out if your ever in the Moorabbin area.
Been here a couple times
And always waddle away happy.
Tonight i had the Korean fried chicken burger.
The chicken was fresh, hot and juicy.
The staff are friendly and down to earth. The space is open and family friendly.
And the chocolate brownie is a good way to finish the night
Get on it!
Got the platter for 1 300g. Very big portions. The wings were incredible, definitely coming back for those. The ribs and pulled pork were a little too dry for my liking.
