Dinner with a friend who knows the menu. The food was delicious, served by a lovely waitress, and topped off with the most delicious mango lassi. We thanked the chef for his wonderful and authentic cooking.

The real Taste of India.5/5
So accomodating!! I'm vegan & coeliac and they catered to my every need with a smile on their face. Made my curry to exact heat I desired. Meals were yummy, not long wait, delicious & fresh!!! Will be returning for sure! THANKYOU!!!
Great fresh, clean and flavoursome cuisine cooked with love and care. Thanks for great evening. We will be brining the kids with us again. Highly recommended.
Aha here is where I can leave a review......My cousins took me to dinner here last night and I want to say that it was..... Absolutely THE BEST Indian meal I have ever had.....Thank you so much.
Best tasting Indian food I've had for awhile. Didn't want to stop but was very full thank you.
This place turns slow food into an art form; it is no place for quick bite. You will need to allow two hours for a meal even when the restaurant is empty. There were about six people in the kitchen when we were there and one waitress. Aside from three take-away patrons, we were the only customers all night. Slow .... so terribly slow (one star deducted for that). But I can *fully accept* slow dining if the food is good, and the food is good! The Masala Prawns is probably the most exquisite prawn dish I have ever eaten anywhere in the world. It is sublime beyond measure. We had it as an entree but next time I will have it as a mains and savour every lemon-infused delicate morsel. The lamb curry was great and the curry with cheese was excellent too. The fragrant cumin rice was nice. They are mean on the pappadams (one each?) and while the dishes come in seemingly small bowls, they are *very* filling. You will not need more than two for a couple. And did I mention the Mango Lassi? Can you look at that and not want to have it? The place is inconveniently located at probably the busiest intersection in the south-east. Parking will not be easy. But anything is worth suffering for a good Indian meal.
I have had may dishes from this place like the butter chicken chicken tikka masala garlic naan and now I went for samosa chaat and tandoori chicken . I must say that this restaurant is one hell of an Indian restaurant . It delivers to its name with amazing dishes .The samosa chaat was lip smacking and delicious and the tandoori chicken although took 30 mins or more to come by was definitely worth the wait . Amazing food and definitely worth it . The samosa chaat and half plate tandoori chicken came at 19 aud and one might think its a bit expensive but it keeps up with the neighbourhood competition. Note: later i had ordered a delhi Chilli chicken woth a twist of honey chilly cauliflower .... And it was kinda a custom made but was totally worth it. It was amazing and lip smacking. Kudos to the chef.
Great food and service. We had the Groupon deal which consisted of four courses. The vegetarian pakora was amazing. Would definitely recommend
Felt like Indian and was using a menulog coupon and this little gem came up. Reviews online were mixed so I wasn't sure what to expect but it was just delicious. Even my mother agreed who is very picky as we are south east Asian and she cooks this type of food regularly and she loved it. We got the lamb vindaloo, butter chicken, chicken tikka, and assorted naans. Everything was flavoursome and fresh and we couldn't fault it. Even the Mint chutney accompaniment with the tikka was fab. We will definitely order again! Ps try the garlic and cheese naan - delish!
Haven't tried here in a while but after being disappointed by our usual indian and driving by south rd and noticing the shop front once more it got a second glance when scrolling through menulog. our order was
vegetable pakora
vegetable samosa
beef saag wala
chicken tikka
raita
mint yoghurt
tandoori roti
Delivery took your standard 50 minutes or so and what arrived was a delicious treat! the raita was chunky with fresh cucumber and carrot, the beed tender and the roti fluffy. The entrees weren't too salty, nor too oily and soggy and had great flavour. The chicken tikka kept the smoky flavours of the tandoor oven and was cooked well.
My only suggestion would be, and not limited to just mirchi tadka indian takeaway but is to have larger serves of the chicken tikka breast available other than the whole tandoori chicken as ends up being mainly bone in the whole chicken.
Am definitely keeping at top of list for indian takeaway!
A peaceful restaurant with one of best Indian food in southeast Melbourne. Ordered chicken roger josh was extra ordinary along with paneer tikka.
Service was above average. Clean and tidy. Most important thing I was amazed about was shyness / politeness which I felt when I was in India. Tip need something as you want golden rule ASK them.
After a bingle with booking issues we arrived pretty late but the server was very welcoming and accommodating, even with a Groupon!
We ended up getting takeaway to save the workers waiting for us. For entrees we had chicken tikka and lamb cutlets. The tikka was good but a little dry, the cutlets were a standout! Really delicious. For mains we had goat and beef/spinach curry. Both solid in flavour but didn't blow our minds, with the goat surprisingly tender while the beef was dry. The naan was decent, as were the desserts. A overall positive experience! A special thanks to our server.
Great food and service!. Nice quiet restaurant. The chilli cauliflower entree was amazing! Vegetarian options too. I'd definitely come back :) :)
We went on a groupon for 2 people, 3 courses plus wine and it was a winner! Waiting for desert now and already so full and happy. Thank you we'll be back!
This is a neighborhood gem. Delicious traditional Indian food and generous servings. Staff are very friendly and although we came on a coupon, nothing was a problem. Bonus is that it was reasonably quiet and warm.
Love love love this place. Delicious, tasty curries and accomodating, friendly staff. Naan bread and samosas are on point. Cannot recommend this place enough.
One of my favourite Indian restaurants! It's hard to find a restaurant that really stands out with so many around but this one really does. The food is delicious! They have a great range of vegetarian options which is also great :)
Takeaway order for veggie pakoras, chicken saag, beef madras curry and butter chicken for the kids. Food was delicious and would definitely recommend. Front desk was also friendly.
Excellent service and the food was absolutely delicious and freshly prepared. Lamb vindaloo a stand out!! We were happy to see a children's menu.
We will definitely be back.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and restaurant atmosphere at Mirchi Tadka! The two person banquet was delicious and very fairly priced. All dishes were freshly prepared and the butter chicken was very tender. We would happily return to enjoy delicious Indian cuisine in a friendly and relaxed environment.
The food is very flavoursome and quite different to your usual Indian cuisine. Very fragrant and the service friendly. Worth trying and I will come back again!
I really enjoyed our dinner at Mirchi Tadka. The food was really great. Good size servings with plenty of variety on the menu. Great vegetarian and Gluten free selection too. Plenty of street parking right out front. The staff were very friendly and provide great service. Highly recommended. I'll be back.
Delicious, home cooked northern Indian food. Ice cold water, beer and glasses. Super friendly staff. Warm plates. Fluffy rice. Heartwarming food. Well priced. Happy tummies. Thank you for the experience. Will come again 👍
Service was perfect. Atmosphere was relaxing. Food was phenomenal. Easy 5 stars across the board. Will definitely be going back.
Ok first off the mango lassi are sooo refreshing and filling, the date chutney they use for the papadums is so tangy and sweet it’s so delicious I shed a tear! The butter chicken and the chicken korma is A+++++ along with the naan bread ! The service is the best I have received from any Indian restaurant I have visited in Australia, I usually go for mild, but next time I might go up to medium hot because it is so delicious! I highly recommend to anyone in Melbourne looking for a great Indian restaurant GO HERE PLEASE, you will not regret, it’s so relaxing and quaint, I will definitely come back, thank you again
