Review Seed Cafe - Mordialloc

I went here on a Thursday morning with my friends for breakfast. The young blonde girl who served us was so polite and patient whilst we ordered our food. They also allowed us to change ingredients in our orders to cater for dietary requirements. The food came out quickly, was excellent quality and was very reasonably priced. My all over experience was very positive and I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family.

Was disappointed at the service here. Walked in, was told to sit anywhere. Sat and then waited. Had to get up and get a menu myself. Meanwhile on of the wait staff were openly on their phone. Wasn't offered a drink or anything (Would have loved a coffee but they missed that up- sell). Finally ordered and she didn't write down my order and stuffed it up. The food itself was great- better then some cafes in the area. Pity the floor staff let down the team big time! There wasn't much energy from them at all. Think they need to get whipped into shape.

Terrible experience. 3 people in our dining party, all served our food at seperate times. First person was finished before the 3rd person got their food. Server didn't care or tell us there was a delay. They took forever to get the food out & then were packing up chairs because they wanted to go. Staff spent their time chatting with each other rather than serving. Water was empty, no offer of refill. Drinks were finished before the first dish arrived, server didn't ask if we wanted more. Kind of happy they didn't though as they didn't deserve another $1 for their sub standard efforts. Will never come back & I suggest you don't bother making the effort as the staff certainly won't.

After a very disappointing customer service experience at Parkdale Beach Cafe, Seed Cafe not only catered for my wife’s dietary needs but were also very welcoming of our 11 month old baby. The food was generous and really enjoyable and their service was thoughtful and professional. Only a short walk to the beach, we will be choosing to make this our point of call in the future and would highly recommend Seed Cafe!

I went to Seed with my family for Sunday breakfast. We found the staff to be fairly inattentive; I'd usually expect to have a coffee order taken as soon as I sat down to breakfast but here it took a second visit from the waiter for that. Our food took ages (20 mins+) and a neighboring table got their food before us, despite ordering after. When it did finally arrive, we had to wait again for cutlery (which they had already had ample time to bring to us). Food was delicious, which is a shame because we can get such good service elsewhere. Hopefully when you go you'll be the people who get their order before us, except that we won't be going back.

Terrible experience. Slow service, dirty glassware, filthy bathroom and a horrible breakfast. My toast was burnt, then flipped over so I couldn’t see it. No butter was offered and they forgot the hash browns. (Who wants to eat dry burnt toast...?) The waitress returned the meal to the kitchen after she saw the burnt toast, to which the chef and offsider laughed. The waitress said they’d discount the meal... but still charged me $15 for a bit of tomato, mushroom and bacon..! To top all of this off, a visit to the bathroom had me running for the hills...! Definitely won’t be visiting this place again.

Have been twice. One year apart.First time long wait eggs like leather and cold.I am local so thought I would give them another try today.Bad move.Hardly anyone there but still waited 1 hour for our food then when it came it was the wrong order. My companions said their food was "ok".While we were eating someone started sweeping the floor in empty cafe as if they were closing tho advertised close time was 3.30 and it was only just after 2pm.Not wanting to hold my companions up any further I gave up and cancelled my order and went home hungry. It was embarassing in front of non local friends and I definitely won't be back.

Went for breakfast this morning, the place was less than half full yet we, 2 people, waited so long for everything. Staff were doubling up to take our order but once made the coffees alone took 20 minutes and came out separately and luke warm. The food was average, also arriving separately,...benedict was a thick slab of corned beef with far too much mustard over powering everything else. Had to ask 2 waiters for the side of beans which they said "oh yes its coming" which = we are microwaving them now. Then asked 3 waiters for salt and pepper...had to ask for the sugar for coffees also. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! My friend ate here a year ago and enjoyed it enough to go back...something changed for the worst.

My favourite place to grab a quick tasty bite from! So much variety and the staff are incredible friendly and always happy to help! Can't recommend it enough. Especially if you're vegan! Amazing options!

First time I ate here was early Aug 17, I was so full that I didn't need to eat anything for the rest of the day. Perfectly cooked eggs, bacon and the most enormous & delicious garlic mushrooms! Service was cheerful and fast. We came back again on Fathers a Day - it was extra busy so there was a bit of a wait on food, but it was worth the wait. The gluten free Quinoa Bean Bagel with poached eggs hit the spot. Keep up the good work!

My absolute favourite place to grab a quality bite to eat. Great staff, greater atmosphere and even better food. Cannot fault the place. Vegan options are perfectly fine, not everywhere has to cater for fucking everyone you know. It's like going to a Toyota dealership and being unhappy that they don't sell Fords there. Want a variety of Fords? Go to a Ford Dealer. Want a variety of vegan options? Go to a different fucking cafe. Lay off the crack you half witted idiots, stop shitting your pants as soon as something offends you or doesn't treat you as an equal. F U C K O F F

As a fellow small business owner, I know what it's like to be persecuted for something that's not your fault. Keep up the faith and work with integrity. People with special meal requests should either be more considerate of where they eat or call ahead to see if that restaurant caters to their needs. One wouldn't call an auto shop like mine and demand a pizza delivery just because we have cars here.
Anna Makris
What a beautiful cafe, lots of vibe and atmosphere. Went for breakfast for the first time yesterday and loved it. Great coffee, great food and best of all the staff were very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be on our regular list!
Michael Sloggett

I love the vegan options! I would highly recommend to give this a try if you're looking for some great vegan food

I've been to a number of events and functions at Seed. The venue is great, food is delicious and the bar staff friendly and easy going 😊 definitely recommend the venue for your next engagement party or milestone birthday!
Aaron Duque
Great place full of great food. Perfect place. highly recommend.
Annie Dunlop
Great food - good menu - friendly staff! Have been half a dozen times now and always good. My family with diverse diet requirements were all catered for 😊
Sumii Chand
Friendly staff, Great food at a decent price. Deserves all the 5 star reviews it has.
Ashley John Hatch
I'm not a vegan, therefor i would not go to a vegan cafe or restaurant. Supporting small & local business is also free.
Matthew Cleathero
Love the place, great value, great menu, service was awesome....... Never been but that didn't stop other people reviewing negatively. Lets see that score back up!!
Monica Forsyth
Have eaten here a few times myself and loved it! Great food and menu options, coffee and service. Would definitely come back again the next time I'm down that way!
Joshua Choryniak
Amazing food, friendly workers, great attention to detail and very customer focused. 6 stars if I could. Grab their Avo and Toast, it's highly recommended!
Jessica Ravenall
Perfect place to catch up and chill out with friends and family! Love coming and enjoying the delicious food at Seed!
Megan Tymko
Great coffee and food. I go for brunch here regularly - love the Avo toast & dukkah eggs. They regularly let me make bookings when I don't know how many people are coming or what time we will actually be there (after a group run)! Top service!
Brennan Brittain
Seed cafe is so good the food can cause a riot. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Being a Mordy local Seed has been on my to-do list for some time. Unfortunately when I did get the opportunity to try it I was very disappointed. Menu is quite small and underwhelming, not a problem though if it’s quality over quantity but the food was very average especially when comparing to the competition in Mordy. <br/><br/>The courtyard is a great feature of the cafe but it was dirty and covered in plant material, I know trees do shed but it’d take 2 mins to sweep up before opening. <br/>
Doc
Went here for a brekky date and was blown away with what I ordered which was the cheese and chive potato balls with chorizo, cherry tomatoes and spinach with 2 poached eggs service great coffee nice just do it and they are licensed #drunklife
Lauren
The service was very slow and food was average. My toast was burnt and the cutlery was blunt, so it made it difficult to eat. I personally won’t be going back
Brigalow17
A place that is worth a visit, especially on a summer's day where the courtyard could be used. The location is good as it is an equidistant easy walking distance from the train station and the beach. The interior is industrial chic, and is a little noisy, and the food is just OK but it does have an interesting menu. I had sweet potato and quinoa fritters with beetroot fries. The service was slowish, but admittedly we were there on Father's Day and the place was packed.
Mia
Average, overpriced food with slow and rude service. Coffee was bitter and undrinkable. Tons of better quality cafes in the area. Won't be back.
EagerToEat
Worst customer service ever and the staff that monitor the cafes social media are ridiculously rude and care more about their own opinions than what their own customers are saying <br/><br/>Way to run a business 👎
PL
Terrible service! We had to ask for our order to taken, then waited 50 minutes for our food to be ready. No warning from staff that there would be a wait and no apology for the delay either. Food was average. Will not return.
Ashley Rose
Love their menu (Salmon Rosti is amazing!) service, portions! Everything is good value and the atmosphere is great too. Plus most importantly - they have great coffee!
Pink Spoon
Called in for an impromptu dinner date on Friday night. A small menu but everything sounds delicious! I had the pumpkin ravioli with burnt butter & sage sauce which was delicious. The atmosphere was great, nice and casual with the footy on in the background but we had a nice romantic table in the corner. Our waiter was really happy and attentive and the owner was friendly and involved which is nice to see. We had such a great time & the best part was the price, excellent value for money. I'm really looking forward to going back and seeing what else they put on the menu. Worth noting that they don't do dinners on Saturdays as they hold events however it looks like a really good venue for a party with good indoor & outdoor areas. We'll definitely be back.
Carli
Love this cafe. Family friendly and lovely laid back atmosphere. I always recieve fast, friendly service and the Avo Toast is the best brekkie in Mordi!
RMX
This place has slipped. Avoid.<br/><br/>The staff are incapable of taking orders correctly, they are then incredibility rude when prompted to correct their error.<br/><br/>Poached eggs are served hard, potato hashbrown was cold but worst of all was the staff attitude.<br/><br/>This used to be a regular brunch spot but after today we won't be back.
Foodie Adventure
Used to be our favorite brunch place ... It has gone seriously downhill. <br/>Service is appalling, it took over half an hour just to get our orders taken, coffee orders were forgotten, table sticky from spilt drinks and had to ask multiple times just to get our table wiped clean.
R.852
Went in too seed yesterday to try the new menu I'd heard about. Looks like I'll be going back as there was to much to choose. I had the chia seed pudding. It was amazing and the coconut cream mixed through its genius. My friend had the breaky burrito and Said it was fantastic and she didn't need to eat for the rest of the day. <br/>Looking forward to heading back for lunch and trying the veggie stack and the pork belly!!
McFoodie Jones
Great food, shocking service! I don't normally say this as I've been a waitress myself but waiting for 10 minutes just to be approached for a table after every staff member has walked past you & made eye contact with you, really isn't good at all. The food however, the most important part - was really yum & made up for my bad mood from the service. Full favoured and tasty, good presentation & good portions. I really enjoyed my brunch. I rate this 3 as the food saved it, or they would be getting a 1 - a good manager & clear direction of staff is needed in this place or even the food won't save you!
Kynle
Food was great but terrible service.. Waiting staff was not helpful and rude. We asked for takeaway boxes and was given a reused container. COULD NOT BELIEVE OUR EYES!
David Loves Food
Best big breakfast I've ever had!! I've been to Seed Cafe many times! Thank you Seed Cafe!!
Average Bloke
Service: Basic. No eye contact. Order taking only. Money taking at till.<br/>Food: Big breakfast. Field mushroom was great. All other food on the plate ordinary fare.<br/>The all important coffee. Cappuccino. Good and tasty but sadly mainly a cup of foam.<br/>Decor: ok. Dark lighting. Dirty walls etc. Just tired.<br/>Price. As expected. $23. NO TIP.<br/>Tip. Didnt leave one. First time in my life. No service as such. Average food. Tired environment.Staff generally going through the motions. Hard to tip really. <br/>Huge potential. In need of a morale boost i suspect.
Ramieleatsshootsandleaves
A nice space to dine inside as well as outside.<br/>The service I received when I had a coffee and cake was on the verge of lukewarm friendliness, and the coffee was average.<br/>But I don't think that will stop me from wanting to bring in friends for lunch someday.
Bridgettt
Love breakfast here! Had the Bircher muesli and the brekky focaccia both amazing! Friends claimed eggs were undercooked but I enjoyed my meals! Always busy! Service is really good happy customer! Will be back <br/>

Early brekky. We were the first in at 8:30 on a Thursday morning. Food & coffee lovely and arrived promptly.
Gunther
Mobile review. Service was a bit slow. However, the breakfast itself was fantastic. The Breakfast Bagel is worth the money.
Anna Spargo-Ryan
Is pear a seasonal fruit? I thought, scratching my head*. Being summer, I rather expected some poached stone fruit or maybe a few watermelons. No matter though, it was delicious. And the icecream was delicious. And the pancake was smooshy like a baby’s face. It was sweet and doughy and when my elder daughter took the last bit for herself, I poked that kid right in the eye and made her cough it up and give it back.
Foodlovesmymouth
....all the dishes are really big and generous here. Though we did wait like 20mins for the food to come - we were starving so anything tasted good to us =P<br/>
The Degusters
The food was good, fresh, clean. The service was friendly and relaxed (compare to Main St café which seems to be frantic and buzzing constantly). The atmosphere was nice and relaxing, and the space was good – enough space to fit a stroller, and there’s little risk of knocking elbows with the folk at the adjacent table. We like it. For a relaxing brunch in Mordialloc, this is currently our pick.
FoodieAboutTown
...heard so much about the housemade potato hash browns and eggs benedict on top. How good do they look? Crisp fluffy potato cakes make a nice change from the toasty muffin you usually get. Perfectly oozey eggs and decadent, rich, hollandaise – A wonderful brunch plate.
David O'Connell
Good cafe, good coffee and lots of dining options - a great decked courtyard, intimate tables inside or a jumbo communal table. Food is good too but expensive. Toilets are best avoided too!
Ug
Nice atmosphere and really nice food. Really great breakfast and good coffee. Service is I think very good, if not too much at times ( being asked by 3 different girls if we have ordered, maybe have a certain number of tables per service staff could work, but really ok)<br/>Great dish - Salmon on Rösti.<br/>Can't wait to check out lunch and other things<br/>Definitely worth a visit
KG Food
Slow Service Average Coffee. Breakfast on Sunday was like a child care centre. Service very slow. Venue is nice staff friendly but inefficient. 5 out of 10 experience.
Natasha_beasley
Worst service ever!!!!. Terrible terrible service...both of the staff were surly, disinterested and unhelpful!! Shame the staff were rude because the food is ok!!We have eaten here in the past but definitely won't be coming back

Neighbourhood cafe. This cafe has great breakfast/lunch food.<br/>The cafe has a very beachy casual feel.<br/>Service is good and prices are okay too.<br/>Set up very well for babies in highchairs.<br/>Plenty of parking in Woolworths across the road.
Jimmypronto
If you are going to put something on your menu called 'avocado toast', you'd like to think that said dish would have more avocado than a thin spread, crowded by a bowl full of roquet. 1.5 hour wait wasn't ideal either. Lift yr game.

Went to Seed this morning for breakfast, five of us all had multiple coffees and meals. <br/><br/>Food overall was good, the salmon looked amazing. I had the mushroom but was unimpressed that the menu said toast was included with gluten free option only to be charged over $5.00 extra for two small, burnt pieces of bread.<br/><br/>They were busy but we encountered several issues:<br/>- next to no gluten free options<br/>- four times they got our drinks orders wrong or forgot completely. One person ordered a mug and got a glass, another ordered decaf and they forgot it twice and 30 mins later delivered a mouthful of milk and the rest of the glass was foam, forgot a tea order completely and I asked for sparkling water and got tap. <br/><br/>Took over 45 mins just to take our food order, when we tried to pay were told we needed to wait, 25 mins later we finally got to pay and walked out to our cars to find three of us had been hit with parking fines in the last 5 mins because we couldn't leave when we wanted to, so what was a $95 meal is now worth over $300 once you add the fines.<br/><br/>Won't be back.

Marlene. We were a party of 8 for brunch and it was not a great experience. Took a very long time for our coffees to arrive. Took a long time for the food to come out after it had been ordered. The berries on top of and around my panckes were still frozen. No effort to thaw them out before dish served. People on either side said that their food was cold. One person asked to have their poached eggs solid but they were runny and her rosti was burnt. Last visit was also not a good experience. Would not recommend them and if my choice would not go back.
Desmond Fothergill
Despite the brilliant food and the appropriate ambience. My breakfast was almost ruined by the overweight manager's pathetic decorum. I have never experienced a brunch where I have had to deal with the awkwardness of speaking to a waiter with 6 sprigs of broccoli staring at me, lodged in his beard. If not for this it was a satisfactory experience.
Meg
Great food and coffee - my usual is the BRAT (bacon, rocket, avocado and tomato focaccia with aioli) - delicious!!
Maguire.bridget
Great food. Poor service. We had a table of 5 and took close to an hour for our food to come out. If we knew it would take so long we would've chosen simpler food. Despite the slow service, the food was good.
Windsorlocal
Boring menu. Waitresses forgot our drinks, even after being reminded. Only two red wines on the list and both were horrible cheap wines. So noisy we couldn't talk to each other without almost yelling across the table. Was recommended to come here, and told it was great, but sadly, it's just not. What a let down.
Fran
Normally go to seed for amazing breaky but decided to Have afternoon tea and cake there today, and cake and tea were to die for! <br/>We had carrot cake and apple cake, both served beautifully. And to top it off gentlemen who helped us pick our order, had great customer service - he was amazing. Rare find now aday!
Sarah
Yum!! Went to Seed Cafe for Mothers Day Brunch. I ordered the Brekkie Bagel and it did not disappoint! Very Good! Hollandaise sauce was delicious and the bacon and poached eggs were cooked to perfection! Only down side is that I found a small bit of egg shell in my egg which I had to pick out of my mouth. But other then that the service was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommended it for sure! Delicious!

Went to Seed on Sunday for lunch with 6 family members. We all ordered something different and we all licked our plates clean. I had the special, sweet potato and quinoa fritters and they were amazing. A must on the menu permanently. We were well looked after by all the staff.
Melange
Sun, sand and good food. We decided to go to Seed Café for breakfast after spotting it during a visit to the beach the previous week. We found the décor a pleasant change to the usual rustic look that most cafés seem to go for these days. The menu was extensive and covered a range of breakfast options like breakfast bagels and shakshouka. We ordered the Veggie Stack and the Seeds Big Breakfast and found the portion sizes to be very generous and well worth the prices. The eggs were perfectly cooked with deliciously orange, runny yolks; and the mushrooms and grilled tomatoes were beautifully tender and juicy. <br/>The only downside to our experience was the 25 minute wait for our food, but it was all worthwhile once we tucked into two very tasty breakfasts.
Abbie Tan
My favourite place for breakfast. friendly staff. Great food. Amazing coffee. Avocado toast is a must try
Elrae58
Frank. Went with family of five for brunch and ordered a variety of dishes, all were very average.
Nikki C
First time at this cafe and safe to say, we will not be returning. Service was below average, especially in an empty cafe with staff milling around doing nothing in particular. The food was overpriced and mostly bread - no fillings. The only saving grace was that when the coffee finally came out, it wasn't too bad.
Meagan Donohoe
Poor service. Rude and slack waiters. Took half an hour for us to be noticed and have our order taken. Then another 20 minutes passed and we had to ask for our drinks. In total we waited an hour and a half and left because our food had not been served yet. A total let down for a place we once enjoyed.
C
There's no doubt Seed does breakfast well. The Vegie breakfast, Hashbrown Florentine and Shakshouka are all superb. Was disappointed with the coffee today but in the past it has always been good. Will definitely keep returning!
Andrea
Went there for a quick lunch yet waited 30 minutes for our two meals to come out. The place wasn't even busy. When the food arrived I found an eyelash and called the waiter over, she replaced it within a few minutes but was there was hardly an apology. That put me off so much I couldn't even eat my meal. Bagel was burnt, cold and stale. They charged us full price for the meal, maybe because I didn't make a fuss but I definitely won't be returning.
Michael VonHammer
Seed was a delight to say the least! And the pork roll would change a Jewish mans ways! Quick and affordable just like Linda straw if you eat hear you will not regret it. Fantastic vibe and staff have a friendly almost huggable. Love it and the Friday nights will definitely become a regular!
Xyzxyzyxzzz
Food great, service a nightmare. Have been to Seed twice since moving to Melbourne. Each time the food has been really delicious - great breakfasts both time. Partner says the coffee is good too. The reason, though, why I won't be going back, is that the service has been sub-standard both times. They also allow the back door to stay open during the day & it lets in the cold which is very offputting, generally as there's a heavy draught that makes its way through the cafe. We had to ask to move twice, I also saw another table ask to be moved also. In addition, they got a couple of things wrong with our order, which we brought to their attention but weren't rectified. If their floor staff were as good as the kitchen staff, I've got no doubt this place would have closer to a 90%+ rating.
Dan Cal
The new owners of Seed Mordialloc really place the 'Kings' in Kingston City Council. With a perfectly balanced menu and exceptional service, this is the spot for a bayside breakfast with the family. The 'Brekky bagel' and matching chai latte is a combination to die for. The manager served us personally and you can really tell he is a passionate foodie. 10 outta 10.
Tuesday
Lovely. Great place on a side street in Mordialloc - plenty of space and great food. Cute courtyard out the back, partly undercover.<br/>Also a great place for kids as there is room for highchairs and prams. I particually like the bench seats.
Victoria
Thanks Jo. Seed provides great food and fab service - big serves with comparable price in the area. What SEED brings is huge flavours, fresh and clean tasting - so lovely.
Helen
Very limited menu.
Jbjb
Simple tasty food but in massive oversized portions which unfortunately means more expensive, seed needs to realize less is more with their meals. Also Choose your time wisely, this place is a cyclist and baby magnet
Meetuthere
The food here is delicious, especially the breakfasts. Some times certain items are tastier/ better presented than other days, probably depending on kitchen staff. If sitting outside, don't expect to be served in a hurry.
PJL
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff but our eggs were over cooked. I liked it but it wasn't a stand out. Won't be travelling out of my way to go there again. Really enjoyed the coffee and got a second to take away.
Mehealey
I have eaten here a few times. Food is always really nice & fresh. Kids menu is ok. Staff are friendly & it is a cute little place. Will be going again.
Katy Elisha
Toddler friendly, had a delicious iced chocolate and carrot cake. Staff very friendly.

Average service, meriocre food and way over priced. Would never go back.
Megan
I was lucky enough to go to a function here and the food was exquisite and catered for all our needs including vegan options at an incredible price. <br/>This venue is perfect for a lovely get together small or large. The service was all very attentive and pleasant and no request was an issue... I can't wait to have our next function there. A true magical winters night :)
Jojo
Slow service. Salmon Omelette was dry and no flavor. Overall bad experience.

My mum and I would never have found Seed Cafe without some pre-lunch Urbanspoon research. We're so glad we did! Down a side street off Mordialloc's Main Street, Seed Almost looked closed from the outside. But once inside we found a modern, smartly furnished, bustling cafe. Service was attentive, coffee tasted amazing, and the food...each dish that came out looked mouthwatering. I loved the Vegie burger with salad and sweet potato chips - the flavours were divine. My mum said the tomatoes filled with brown rice, on a feta salad were packed with flavour. Serving sizes were huge. I can't wait to go back. Highly recommended!!
Melissa Mel
Awesome coffee. Good for brekky. Friendly staff
Lela Mahoney
Disappointing. Went for lunch. Very slow service despite the cafe being only 1/4 full. Wait staff took so long to take our order that I got up to order at the counter. The food took over 1/2 an hour to arrive. The open smoked salmon sandwich was nice but the chicken Caesar salad was well below par. The chicken and egg were overcooked. Overall a disappointing experience.
Peter Tsiampas
Had the best French toast with the poached fruit.

A taste of trendy St Kilda just around the corner!!. I am a local in Mordy and Seed Cafe in my local "go to" for the best coffee. Working in the city and being spoilt for choice with trendy cafe's and eataries I love that when the weekend comes I have the same high quality venue waiting for me just around the corner.<br/><br/>The coffee is fantastic and I love the fact that they have looked outside the box in using a boutique brand of coffee instead of the "run of the mill" brands you see everywhere else...<br/><br/>After reading previous reviews I decided to question managment about their organic options on their menu and I was pleased to find that all items stated to be organic are in fact cerified organic....<br/><br/>If you are after a trendy local venue with inner city qualities, fantastic coffee, consistently good food and lovely service then look no further....
Johnny Shabazz
Seed well eh I can forgive your staff for being clueless because clearly you hire people with no experience. Too few items on the menu and none of them done well. The system of ordering is ridiculos might as well give us a plastic tray and herd customers around the trough. No one seems to know what they're doing. It's very annoying. Not sure about organic food but I can't think of anything there I liked.
Chilli Con Incarnate
Best eggs in mordialloc!. This place does fantastic breakfast food, staff are friendly and polite and the food is made from organic produce which makes it taste excellent. This is my favourite place to go for breakfast (which runs all day). Fresh, good tasting food that won't disappoint!
Jemma O'Hanlon
Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, fabulous coffee & breakfast.

Seed is a hidden gem!. Booked at Seed Cafe for my birthday celebrations with 8 of my friends on Wednesday. When we arrived, we were greeted with a friendly smile from the waitress who showed up to our reserved table. We started off with coffees that were all delicious, creamy milk and just the right temperature, not luke warm like so many cafes! We ordered our food, which all arrived very quickly and was extremely fresh, very well presented and generous portions. I even received a complimentary glass of wine with my meal from the Specials Board. Seed has a really nice relaxed feel about it, the food is so fresh and tasty and there is something for everyone, whether you want breakfast, a light snack or a full meal. The staff are all so nice and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Overall a great experience and enjoyable birthday, we'll be back!

2 hours of our lives wasted!. I have heard good and bad things about this cafe and decided it was time to check it out for myself. I am not sure if they are having staffing issues or if waiting times for food and coffee are usually that long but seriously it wouldn't have been so bad if the coffee was decent and the staff looked like they wanted to be there. I thought from other reviews that Seed uses all organic produce but other than the coffee and organic flour nothing else is organic which is what my waitress went on to comfirm. It is disappointing that it seems this cafes biggest problem is inconsistency as I can see it has potenial. The breakfast menu is standard but the lunch menu seems a bit muddled. Our meals took a long time and it didn't seem much care was taken when plating them. My eggs benedict was ok, but the eggs were not runny and I didn't like the taste of the hollandaise. My husband's big breakfast looked awful on the plate and it wasn't hot enough but we didn't want to send it back as we thought it would most likely go in the microwave and we didn't want to wait any longer. Overall we diffently won't be going back.
DJ
Highly reccomend this place!. This place gets 10/10 from me.<br/><br/>Great staff who are FRIENDLY and helpful.<br/><br/>Food is GREAT - fresh and organic. <br/><br/>There always seems to be a table free which is good, especially on a Sunday morning when it is normally packed. <br/><br/>You gotta try this place!!
Rport
Good venue but lacks it's own personality. Breakfast menu is bits and pieces from other great Melbourne Cafes. No table service! Jasper coffee ok but not great. Otherwise good for an occasional visit!
Lex
Seed Big Feed!. Love Seed. Its consistent, tasty and all organic! One of the best breakfasts bayside!<br/><br/>The service is wonderful and friendly.
SXM
WTF? They took our uneaten breakfasts away!. My son and I were there on Sunday morning and ordered a full breakfast, french toast, coffee and a milkshake. My 9 year old son wanted me to escort him to the toilet soon after our breakfasts were delivered. When we got back some 5 minutes later, our breakfasts had been removed from the table despite our jackets being left on the chairs. Obviously, our breakfasts hadn't been touched and yet they were taken away without a shred of common courtesy! The waitress shrugged her shoulders when I complained and my son began to get a little upset so we left immediately, still hungry and $40 poorer.<br/>Unbelievably terrible service and experience!!
Vic
Thank God for Seed! Love it!
Jacqui Rose
Delicious food & drinks. Friendly & accomodating service. Lovely decor with varied seating options including an outdoor garden. Huge, clean facilities. I just wish they were open for dinner too. I keep going back.

Really enjoyed breakfast at Seed this morning, I ordered a soy latte with poached eggs on toast, my husband had pancakes. Coffee was so great I ordered a second, the orange juice is really freshly squeezed (as all oj should be) and the pancakes were so tasty! Definately a stand out cafe with quality food. Love the organic focus and enjoyed the earthy vibe, will surely become a regular here! My only suggested improvement would be to be able to order at the table and have one waiter serve us. Looking forward to my next Seed Cafe Coffee!

Seed. Regular customer until porridge was taken off the menu, the brown rice is a poor substitute, VERY small quantity, cooked in coconut milk but no coconut flavour, poached fruit was 2 small slices, not worth $12.00. Bring back the porridge, a very hearty generous serving with milk and both maple syrup and honey.
