Review The Sporting Globe Mordialloc - Mordialloc

Good attentive and friendly service. Good layout inside, variety of settings and of course TV screens to look at. In the booth seats you can pick your booths TV channel. Food out in a good time. Chips and pulled pork on sliders a bit dry. Worth a visit. Would go back.

Great location, plenty of sitting space inside across two levels, friendly staff. Excellent place to catch up with mates and blow steam watching sports across the massive screens

Great local pub atmosphere… The beautiful Maddi makes you feel like you’re at home the minute you walk through the door. We are regulars here and come to meet up with friends and have a bite to eat and a few drinks. The staff are always friendly and know what we like to order too! Pop in and see for yourself!

Had a fantastic birthday dinner with my children tonight. The atmosphere was fantastic. The waiting staff attentive and friendly. The food was amazing I’m a fussy eater but thoroughly enjoyed my meal cooked to perfection. My drink I ordered from the bar was a perfect mix and I didn’t even have to ask for it to be done like that as I have at other restaurants. I highly recommend TSG Mordialloc. I definitely will be back. 🙂

My Fiancè and I dined in a few weeks ago, The gorgeous waiter was amazing. She commented on my eyelashes, Meanwhile hers were stunning. However the service she provided us I have NEVER received elsewhere. I wish I grabbed her name, however she is a very amazing asset to have as one of your team members. She kept checking in on us, Making sure everything was good & Also had a nice chat with us! Will definitely be back! what a great experience for a lovely night out for my Partner and I.

When arriving the lady told us to go upstairs ourselves and check if there was seating available. We had to then walk back downstairs to tell her there was. She told us someone would come to us and clean our table. So we then had to walk back upstairs to a table filled with empty plates. We ended up waiting 40 minutes at a table with food on it BEFORE EVEN ORDERING OR GETTING ACKNOWLEDGED. No one came to our table as she instructed so we waited for nothing like idiots. For the duration no one had greeted me and my partner and I was never told to order downstairs until WE HAD TO ASK the staff after 40 minutes of being impatient. When we were told they acted like we were idiots for not knowing!! When we finally went downstairs to order the staff serving us was impolite and told me my gift card wouldn’t work. I had to explain to do split payment as it was $50 and the purchase was $70. If I hadn’t spoken up she would’ve told me it declined or wouldn’t work. It did work and she said “oh that’s right”. When she gave us our number she didn’t say anything and walked off. When we came back upstairs our TABLE WAS TAKEN. The table we waited 40 MINUTES ON WITH EMPTY PLATES. We got our food 9:07pm and we arrived 7:45pm. Almost an hour and a half waiting!! When the food finally came my medium-rare steak I asked for was cooked well done and same with my partners. It’s very disappointing since I’m a regular and always eat at the joint and other Sporting Globes have always been amazing.

Really great choices. Reasonable pub prices, lots of TVs for all the sports you csn watch. Wide bar area downstairs and smaller bar upstairs on next level, then there's also open rooftop area for dining out and fresh air. Definitely try their Buffalo Wings, good-sized serving as well as great spiciness with their range of cocktails and waffle fries! Thank you team!

My experience has been amazing here. Half price mondays make my week. I don’t know how I would function without having beers on a Monday. Maddy is really friendly

Perfect place to watch a game with mates. There were about four of us there, for the afternoon. We spent about $ 300 we had lots of food and drinks. Everything was great.

The sporting globe is poping up everywhere and I'm loving it. So many Tvs with all kinds of sports great beer deals and a food menu with heaps of great options. Food came out fast.

There is a wide selection of food and drinks, but it is very loud. My friend and i couldnt really hear each other, probably wont go back there.

Celebrating my partner's best mate at one of our fav sporting bars with massive TV screens of all sporting events one could imagine, delish creative menu items and don’t forget their variety of load fries; Bottomless soft drinks and Bucket beers. This is a sport fanatic heaven.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📸: Double Down Champion Bacon Cheese, 1kg Meet Board

Never been to Mordialloc before yesterday and because I was hungry I went to the nearest place for lunch. The fish sliders were 3 small fish burgers. But the only real food was the fish an avocado and some greenery. The buns left me with indigestion which I can still feel the next day. Should have looked further afield for my lunch. Never seen so much American football before either. Why do they call it football - they only use their feet to run.

Good for what it is.
Food definitely not that tasty but what do you expect? It’s a sport bar but done nicely with great vibes.

A fun and electric vibe, fun and always a good time.

I went on a Friday (weekday) and it just so happened to be the NBA finals, so the vibe was buzzing!

People took work off just to be part of this epic ness! I enjoyed a delicious rose accompanied with some yummy hot chips!

The staff were so lovely and attentive, constantly checking up on us to make sure we were happy and well looked after!

Will certainly be back!
Just like all other Sporting Globes, great venue to watch sports while enjoying a meal and drinks; bored with one game, turn your head to enjoy another ;) Really hard to find a proper real sports bar these days that doesn’t focus on the horses/dogs.

Food is good, nothing spectacular however is good for a pub/bar food as one should expect. Staff is friendly and food/drinks served promptly.

My one complain is that it IS FREEZING sitting downstairs - we booked in on the Saturday night < 10 deg and it is hard to be comfortable with the cold draft as the automatic sliding door keeps opening whenever patrons stand in front of the cashier booth ... and it is constant. If possible, make sure you sit on the upper level in the winter; I’m sure it’ll be nice in the warmer season.

Been here twice now since it opened and haven’t had any issues at all. Food and service has been great. Wouldn’t go anywhere else to eat and watch sport.

Does what it says on the tin! Good venue to watch sports with American style fried food. While I have no major complaints, it didn't really do it for us. Friendly staff and wide selection on menu (mostly deep fried). Although it was really cold sitting downstairs and we kept our coats on. Food was fine, but nothing special.

We all agreed that we would request a booth upstairs if were to return as it was warmer and more comfortable, but we won't be returning for dinner for a long time. Although Dad may return to watch sports.. Which I guess is the whole point of the venue 🙂

went to sporting globe mordialloc to watch the Melbourne storm had a booth no sound but as soon as the aussie rules come on was blasted with there commentary could not concentrate on the game it was so loud you do not need sound to watch agame you surpose to be a sporting club not a footy club how about cutting the sound so other people can enjoy there sport

It was our first visit to TSG Mordialloc and we had a 6:15pm booking. We arrived on time only to stand at the front desk for over 5 minutes waiting to be acknowledged and seated. 15 minutes after we were seated a waitress took our drinks order. 30 minutes after that we asked to order our meals only to be told someone else would come and take our order. More waiting. Our order was finally taken at 7:15pm. Food came out 30 minutes later only for us to be told our table had another booking at 8pm so we needed to be finished by then. We had 15 minutes to eat. Ridiculous! Either put on more staff or allow customers longer sittings. I realise the idea is to churn over the sittings and more bookings means more money but if the venue can’t get their shit together to accommodate the needs of customers within the allocated sitting time, it’s just not going to work. Food however was delicious except for the soggy, oily, undercooked sweet potato fries.

I’ve been to The Sporting Globe in Richmond and actually preferred the experience there. Buffalo wings here were spot on and I really dug the blue cheese dressing. I was pretty excited about the chipotle garlic dry rub wings but they were pretty much a let down. Something was missing there possibly just salt and pepper that said, not much flavour. Service was great and the food came out quick. As with most things in mordy, the crowd can ruin everything. When we walked in as a family I noticed there were a number of those angry tough guy types eye balling everyone and I had a feeling a couple of goals gone the wrong way would set some of them off. Not the venues fault just the locals. This Sporting Globe is probably a better joint for beers and grub with the boys rather than a nice family outing.

Great food and atmosphere. Wouldn’t want to come here if you’re after a great chat because it can get loud with all the sporting events but that’s expected. Our waiter was Ben and he was great! 10/10, super attentive and knew all about the menu whereas some of the other waiters were ignoring us when trying to get their attention. Will definitely be returning.

If I was one of the rival bistros in the area I'd be very worried about going under after the opening of this place. The neighbouring Doyles/Bridge Hotel and Kingston Club (MSC) duopoly have been getting away with bare minimum/passable bistro food at reasonably high prices (Doyles more so) for quite a number of years now in the Mordialloc main strip. I think the only thing that might save them is that it's quite hard to get a booking here atm (maybe after it's been open for a while this may change) and that they don't have a kids play area or target seniors (1c pokies etc).

Experience wise, the owners of this chain obviously know what they are doing. The dining experience is slick and sophisticated (not high-end/fine dining restaurant sophisticated, rather a slick consumer offering like a TGIF for adults) - the gigantic wall to wall tv's is a must if you are into sports - clean orderly tables and a really modern/new feel. On this front this is quite different to anything we have seen in the immediate area before.

Actual food wise, I was a little bit disappointed (although note - still a huge improvement on the above mentioned rivals). Their menu is great - a huge amount of offerings were there - and the prices were quite reasonable for what it was (ie. a lot cheaper then something like TGI Fridays). The main issue we had was that the food didn't seem that freshly made - not in that food/vegies were off - but more like a lot of it was premade in a factory somewhere for all their restaurants and then reheated/plated for diners.

I tried out the porterhouse steak, onion rings and we had a garlic bread for entree. The steak was actually reasonably good quality meat (a positive) and made perfectly (so all good there). The garlic bread could have been great (really nice bread loaf) - but the topping really tasted chemically - not at all like it was actually made there. Onion rings + chips tasted like they came from a big frozen bag and deep fried (not great either). So anyhow - the food was good + also bad - but definitely missing that 'home/freshly cooked' style.

The deserts however were a big let down (particularly for the price) - even though we had a buy 1 get 1 free Friday deal. It felt like management had spent a lot of time deliberating over what it visually looked like (which like everything else was done well) - but failed to actually taste it and see if it was any good. Our fudge brownies were dry and painfully ordinary (we left half of them uneaten) - the waffles were better but the waffle itself again tasted like it had just been reheated (like a precooked item made in a factory somewhere). So anyhow this was the worst part of our meal and left a bit of an unpleasant takeway taste in our mouths.

Staff were super friendly/efficient here - so that was good. I think only real issue was initial waiter who insisted on not writing down our order and then got it slightly wrong when it was served (which is a pet hate - I simply don't care about their memory capacity - just that they get it right). The hostesses other staff were super friendly (in fact possibly too over friendly which was a little bit much at times when we just wanted to be left in peace to eat) - however a good experience overall in that regard.

Anyhow if you want a bistro experience + bar (and aren't turned off by the in your face sports-bar and gambling feel) - then this is a great addition to the area + easily better then the others (including all the cafes). If you want a really top quality steak and nicely made sides then try somewhere else (we recommend Hansa's in the back streets).

Went here for lunch after finding out it was open by a friend and the place is really well set out booths with screens in them and a huge wall full of screens with all sorts of sports. The table service was good and lucky it was a burger special day as any burger on the menu was $14.90 great tasting the only thing was it wasn’t big enough to justify $20.90 on a normal day beers were standard price $8 a schooner #drunklife
