Review Fortune House Chinese Restaurant - Mortdale

Very friendly and welcoming staff, we had a booking for a large group and were seated right away. We ordered the all you can eat for $17 pp, this is highly recommended. The food comes out fairly quick but the wait isn't too long. There are 2 levels of seating and close to public transport. Many guests are family groups and keep to themselves and not so loud. There is a large variety of food to choose from, you can't eat it all and will have to go back.

I tried the Honey Pepper Pork with some rice. Cooked quite well, pepper flavour came through but not overwhelming, honey was a little subtle but in a savoury dish it was sufficient.

What an incredible place! Amazing food, fantastic vibe with great service. I've been here many times and have never been disappointed. All the food is so fresh with a vast selection of traditional and contemporary Chinese food. I really cannot recommend this place enough!

When I first looked at the menu, I wasn't very happy. The restaurant advertises 80 dishes, but the 80 dishes are just different permutations of the same few things.. sweet and sour chicken, sweet and sour pork, sweet and sour fish, etc etc. We came for lunch and I questioned how many dishes could we really eat to make it a "buffet" type experience.. however, it ended up being a surprisingly good meal! The plates were quite small (our party of 4 got a taster bite of each dish), which meant that we ordered a ton of things on the menu. The food wasn't amazing, but it was tasty, and freshly cooked to order. The chow mein was a bit disappointing (the fried noodles soggy and drowning in sauce) but the sweet and sour pork was delicious (very thin still crispy coating, tasty sauce), and the japanese tofu so good we ordered 3 plates. Arrive early, we got here at 12 on a Saturday and food came out quickly at first but slowed to a crawl once the restaurant filled up.

Yum! We’ve been three times so far and have had a consistently great experience! Food is cooked fresh, hot, quick and tasty. The hosts are friendly and welcoming. Such excellent value!

Dont be mistaken this isn't just another all you can eat buffet. You pay per head and order as many plates as you can eat. The dishes were excellent from your usual favourites like beef snd black bean, satay chicken and sweet and sour pork. Im not usually a big fan of these all you can eat places, but i will be coming back to this one. Friendly and fast and tasty, all cooked as you order. Highly recommend especially at $25.99 per head. Lunch only $16.99. They also have an excellent ala carte menu with fresh seafood.

Great service and nice food. We were are large group with kids and they made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much and they even put happy birthday music on for us.

Where do i start, The floor was dirty and sticky as well as the tables and cutlery, our entree was over cooked and unpleasing, our rice was brought out 10 minutes after our recieving our mains (they forgot), children running around everywhere throwing items off upper level. Very poor service i would not recommend
