I had the ma po tofu, sizzling lamb, egg and shallow fried rice, and red bean pancakes.
In my opinion the food was good: the ma po tofu was well balanced i simply loved it. The sizzling lamb could have been a little more spicy as it was falling towards the sweet end. The fried rice was good, wasnt too oily which i thought was fantastic as i hate oily rice. The red bean pancake, wasnt blown off, it was simple.
I feel the wine menu should be taken care. It could have been done better. They should work on the wine list but this comes from a person who loves her wines. Jus would love them to re-evaluate their wines.
This place is full of surprises. No gluggy chinese dishes here, only excellent food and surprisingly great service. The original decor and gorgeous seating booths add to the experience.
Could not find a fault with our evening. Too many times have I driven past this restaurant without having ever gone in. Do yourself a favour and check it out for yourself.
Best chinese food i've had in at least 7 years since moving back to Aus from London, can't believe some of the negative reviews, this place is far superior to any other place we've tried and definitely deserves being tested by first time customers!! Sweet and sour pork was flavoursome and not overbattered, with chewy slightly crunchy thin batter. Honey king prawns were juicy and tender, and the satay beef was hearty with quality meat that wasn't chewy or tough. Fried rice was fluffly and full of flavour. Absolutely loved every dish! So glad we gave Jade Court a go and will certainly be back with the whole family. Tip - make sure you make the effort to grab takeaway / don't use ubereats to deliver as they charge a fortune! Ubereats tried to add $8 to EVERY dish plus a delivery fee, the ubereats price was outrageous so we just picked it up too easy
Been here a couple of times during chinese New Year and the occasional dinner. Family own and run for so long ! Food always great! It Maybe a few dollars more then normal chinese restaurant, but it is more upper class chinese and well... we all would pay the price if you get good food and service right? 😃
Had takeaway only but it was very very good. Looks like a nice restaurant to dine in with full bar facilities. Khung Po chicken was a standout, spring rolls great - crunchy and light, lamb with chilli and basil had a lot of bite, sweet n sour pork tasty, beef n blackbean very nice. Prices little higher than other takeaway but it was worth the extra.
Called in for a quick take out and was really happy with our choices. Spring rolls were delicious, combination chow mein absolutely lovely and the fried rice was as you'd expect.Â
Although the food is somewhat pricey, I'm well aware that I am eating from a restaurant located in Cottesloe, where everything costs more, so I don't feel entitled to complain about it. Will definitely be back.
Fantastic take away Chinese. We were unable to find a menu online and I forgot to pick one up to add it here - next time. There will be a next time as have already ordered twice this week!! Could be a little on the pricey side for Chinese takeaway at around $20 per dish.
Great staff, very friendly and approachable. One staff member in particular was very kind and cute. She can serve me any time! Food was nice and flavoursome. Best honey chicken in Perth!
Love, love, love the Jade Court. I've been coming here for years with my family and still love it! Boxing Chicken is the bomb and the Prawn Toast and birds nest specialties are the best I've had!
Birthday dinner. What a hidden gem... Have noticed this place for years but never visited... Took the family for my wife's birthday and we'll definitely be going back again. The food was excellent quality and taste, service was top stuff. They even brought out a dessert with a candle on it for my wife. The staff went over and above what I would have expected. Definitely worth going to. I'd recommend it anytime.
Quality chinese. Me and my partner visited Jade Court little awhile ago to celebrate my partner's birthday. We really enjoyed.
I brought such an awfully decorated(by me) home made cake and asked to them to give it when we finish our meal. Then the cake they served was beautiful! There're some fresh strawberries and candles on my cake!
Foods were great as well. Specially, steamed salmon dish was my partner's favorite. We still get the salmon for take away sometimes.
After our first visit, we changed our mind about chinese food from cheap takeout to finedining food.
The price is a bit more expensive than other chinese but with their quality of foods, service and atmosphere, it's worthy!
Good food. This, in my opinion is the best Chinese restaurant in Perth, the food is excellent . The braised garlic beef melts in your mouth and the lemon chicken was awesome. The special fried rice was spot on. Both my wife and I will be back here again and again. Its nice to see we still have quality Chinese restaurants here in Perth.
Food: everything was cooked beautifully. Salt and pepper quail was meaty for quail, juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Fried dumplings (guo tie) were tasty and crispy. Cantonese-style braised duck in plum sauce was tender and flavoursome, not too sweet, not too tart. Their battered banana or apple with crispy caramel and ice cream is very nice. 14/20
Service: was very good, though they were not too busy on a Wednesday night. Silver service on quail and the banana/apple dessert a nice touch. Staff can speak Cantonese and Mandarin, and can recommend quite a few very nice dishes. 15/20
Ambience: for a restaurant on the same premises for what, 40+ years, it's easy to let the premises degrade. Fortunately, this isn't the case here. The restaurant has a nice feel about it, definitely a higher class of Chinese restaurant, with nice furnishings and place settings. 13/20
Overall: this is my new favourite Chinese restaurant in Perth. It will set you back the cost of a mid-level Italian, French or Modern Australian meal ($50/person,) but it's worth it. 14/20
One of the better Chinese Joints. Good quality Chinese food with a slightly more interesting menu than the standard black bean, sweet & sour, chop suey options found in many. Service is efficient but not very warm or friendly. Prices are a little on the expensive side.
Same same. Jade Court is one of those restaurants that you can go to for guaranteed good quality Chinese. Albeit a little pricey, and screaming for some modernisation - it is good food, fast service, and open seemingly all of the time, with the added ease of being able to get a table without prior reservation (we most recently stopped here at 8.30pm on a Saturday night for a late-by-perth-standards dinner - and due to popular new places in the vicinity like Lido, Jade Court was empty!)
On our last visit, the prawn toast was exceptional, the sweet and sour pork was a family favourite, but we'd miss the chinese style mushrooms next time round - they were too chewy, and without a knife on the table, made for tricky eating!
Shame the head waitress/manager was abrupt and rushing us because the rest of the staff and food were excellent! The beef chow mein was wet without being gluey, the noodles were crisp, the sweet and sour pork was tender, the vegetables were fresh, the fried rice and spring rolls were a bit more interesting and less greasy than the standard in Northbridge. On a side note, it was my partner's birthday and I discreetly gave the cake to the manager. After our meals, she came over and blatantly asked if she could bring the cake and candles now. She not only ruined the suprise but also hung around impatiently for us to cut the cake before taking it away again. Very annoying.
Awesome feed every time. Bit pricey but well worth it in my opinion. We regularly enjoy the Mongolian lamb and garlic prawns among others. If you want to eat something healthy then eat at home, but if you want to eat tasty; hit up Jade Court.
Good food. The positive: I always enjoy the food here and love the atmosphere. The negative: It is more expensive than other Chinese restaurants in Perth (however, I am happy to pay the price for the quality of food). The service could be improved.
Overpriced. This place gets away with being seriously overpriced. You could get the same sort of dishes at a small take away for probably a third of the price. Sure its in Cott, but its not a stunning modern restaurant with a great view so im not sure how they get away with it.
That said the food is consistent and relatively tasty and whilst not overly friendly the staff are efficient.
