Review Thai Kanteen - Mosman

Liz Cuca
We ordered take it. Now as an experience Thai food eater in Sydney. I can tell you this. It was very very average and expensive for what you Get. We went inside the restaurant to pick it up, not surprisingly the average age is 60 years plus for dinner. We had the fish cake, the green curry, the curry puff pretty standard stuff and for these to be of non satisfactory standard, well you get the gist. Not sure why people on here recommend it as one of the best, certainly not.

One of the best , if not the best Thai restaurants that we have visited. Everything about Thai Kanteen is just that bit better. The layout with fresh white tablecloths the beautiful crockery show you the attention to detail that has been taken to make experience first class. There are plenty of dishes to suit everyone, all freshly prepared. Pad Thai and Pad See Ew are our favourites and we return whenever for them whenever we are in Mosman, such as tonight. Make sure you book a table well in advance as it is super popular and walk ins will be disappointed.

We recently stayed at the Albert Hotel in Mosman for 5 nights. On our first night we had take away from Thai Kanteen and it was the best thai food we have eaten. It was so good we ended up getting thai take away for the next 3 nights. Our parents also ate at the restaurant 2 nights in a row. Would strongly recommend having dinner here when in Mosman.

Yu and his team are exceptional. My entire family love coming here, the food is fantastic and great atmosphere. Do yourself a favour and get the coconut lime prawns πŸ₯°πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

If you know what real Thai food is supposed to taste like, then this’ll be your go to. If you are just after sauce and salt, then not for you

Ordered a veggie pad thai. 22$ and waited 30min to end up getting the smallest serve of take away thai I've ever been given. Looks like a joke. Doesn't even taste good. Don't get me wrong it's still eatable, but really not much flavour. Very very disappointing

Best Thai in Mosman without a doubt. Been coming here for many years and the food is consistently delicious and inspiring. There is a specials menu that changes regularly based on seasonal produce and often these dishes are imaginative and unique. On the most recent visit we ordered the prawn betel leaf (so good and tangy), Barramundi fish cakes (to die for) and satay chicken skewers for entrees. The coconut lime prawns for a main is really delicious and is served in the original coconut shell with an infusion of lime, ginger and coconut cream. The Masaman curry of organic lamb is also something you should try as the lamb is slowly cooked and oh so tender. Service is excellent too!

Love Thai. And really love this place.

Thai Kanteen is one of my favorites meeting with my high expectations every time.

I even make the trip from the George Street the City on the M30 at least twice a month. Well worth the trip.

It's that good.

Have eaten here twice now and will keep coming back. The food is very tasty, delightfully presented and reasonably priced. Portion size is ample and the staff are both friendly and efficient.

Consistently good. Better than any other thai I've tried. Slightly expensive in comparison but always better than most locals.

Consistently good food. Eat in or take away, just great. Fish cakes superb.

Take me away. Dine in or take out, this Thai is always consistently good.

Phone up for take out more than once and they will know who you are and your regular order next time you call-great service.

The Thai Dim Sims with red cabbage made with steamed rice paper are the best. But swap the satay dipping sauce for the Thai plum sauce for maximum delight!
