Cool local bar - feels very inner city and hip.
Try the mulled wine on a cold night but be warned it has a bite!!
I am told by the manager its secret ingredient is chilli.
Will be back to try the food and the big wine/beer selection.
Feel like being transported to a chic bar in an African game reserve? Then make your way to The Hunter Wine Bar in the heart of Mosman. Dine under the safari tent surrounded by hanging vines, lanterns and wooden beams. You almost expect Robert Redford to appear in a Safari suit! Was delighted by the variety of food options here as I assumed it would be just nibbles and bar food, but no...you can have a substantial meal. Chose the Gatherer Board to share ($30) which consisted of falafel, zucchini fritters, olives, haloumi, a range of dips and sourdough. Delicious! Followed this with a beetroot, fennel, orange, walnut and goats cheese salad ($16), the grilled beer battered Barramundi with chunky chips, garden salad and house made tartare sauce ($18). A totally enjoyable experience!
One of my favourite bars in Sydney! Food is incredible and the bar is perfect for after work cocktails ;) The wine list is very impressive and the staff are well trained & know their stock - makes ordering so much easier.
Been here a few times! Service here is great and the pollenta chips were the perfect snack to accompany a few rounds! But its the chicken skewers that are totally awesome! Great selection of wines too!!!
Wow! This venue is tops! So welcoming and so tasty. The food is fab to share with your besties over a glass of vino or a delish cocktail. Will be back with my mummy friends for sure! Thanks Steve and crew xx
What an awesome place! The food is great and the setting is beautiful!! Thanks so much for a great lunch! I loved the salt & pepper squid!!
I enjoyed a lovely lunch today at The Hunter with an antipasto board with scrummy cheeses, salt and pepper squid and the best sweet potato fries! The service was second to none. A very chilled place w a friendly vibe. Looking forward to returning!
Urban cool just outside the city. A great date place with sexy lighting and great service. The small eats are deliciously decadent and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.
The Hunter Wine bar is a funky little relaxed bar you can go to if you want to sink a few lovely wines and order from a menu out of the jungle. Vines hang from the ceiling, and the gatherers bowl is without doubt an absolute treat for a medium size group. We got really lucky when we were in there as it wasn't too busy and the staff were happy to recommend wines and has quite an extensive knowledge of their list as well which was impressive. Will be back!

The firm crocodile meat has its own distinctive taste and is richly flavoured with spices while the ginger and lemon flavoured slaw to provide a gentle tang to the dish. The crunch of the slaw also pairs with the softness of the slider bun to provide a contrast of textures. The creamy paprika aioli offers some richness and sweet spice to the dish. It is certainly a great tasting experience.
Went on Saturday night.. Re.... Went on Saturday night..
Regrettably they didn't have any ales in stock, which was disappointing, apparently due to a delivery issue.. it is a wine bar though but they settled with beers like Heineken with a unique larger or 2..
It's not difficult to pop down to a bottle shop and buy a case of nice pale or winter ale though instead of offering average largers.. :)
Those who tried some wines really enjoyed them..
I didn't like the bread they used in the emu sliders (mustard too intense) & beef cheek dish (although this dish was delicious!)..
Crumbed beetroot & prawn dish were awesome & the highlights!
Regrettably on a cold winter's night it was too cold, as the bar front is open, and most kept their jumpers on whilst drinking/eating.. it's apparently excellent in the Summer but, although they did have some nice heaters outside which would have been nice (we were seated inside), I won't be back until it warms up..
We need more places like The Hunter Wine bar in the area and they're trying something different so I think it's worthwhile checking out..
This small bar is just what Mosman needed. mixed crowd which was nice. Ordered the dukkah crusted beetroot, little emu burgers and wild boar, so tasty! good wine list too. attentive staff. would be hard getting a table after 8pm on weekends.
Very relaxing and a good choice of share plates. Wines and beer at reasonable prices. There is live music. Great for families with children as there is a safe area for them to runaround while mum and dad can enjoy a relaxing afternoon.
Easily some of the best cocktails I've had and a great small space to have a couple with friends. Can easily chat without it being extremely loud.
Great wine and nibbles list. One of my go-to’s in the Lower North Shore. Great ambiance and staff too.
Went in with very low expectations, pleasantly surprised. The food was absolutely delicious. The very friendly waitress was correct in her estimations about the meals.
They never disappoint. Nailed it again with a fabulous lockdown dinner for the whole family. Popcorn cauliflower is amazing. Cocktails lift the mood after a week of schooling at home. Thank you.
We had some home delivery options from the Hunter this week. Sliders, tacos, fried cauliflower, chicken salad and fries. Delicious. And great service. We will be back.
Decent food, fantastic wine, and most-important, great music. Very refreshing for something from Melbourne to find a place in mosman where they're playing great tunes! Thanks!!
Really like this place. Small, cosy and intimate but casual. All ticks in my books.
