I probably don’t visit cafes as often as I should, but I was really impressed with August The Old Place. I ordered king prawn salad, it came with avocado, mango, watermelon sticky, green bean, quail egg, tomato, cucumber and citrus lime dressing. It was total foodgasm!
Simply beautiful. Atmosphere is quiet, elegant and classy. The set-up was beautiful and the service was quick and efficient. I ordered a beautiful 'Roast Pumpkin Bruschetta' and I have to say it looked incredible and tasted amazing. Generous serving, semi-resonable prices, but the atmosphere is just perfect. Will definitely return.
I love this place! Firstly, the atmosphere is so lovely. It's like you're in a little French house with large windows, white washed furniture and little plants at the table.
Food is amazing. I've been here twice, first time I ordered the prawn salad and as you can see in the pictures it looks incredible. The mix of flavours was delicious and very fresh, loved it! Second time I ordered the avocado and tahini on sourdough, this was also really nice and fresh with simple flavours.
I do really enjoy this place, it's a little pricier than you're average breakfast but well worth it.
In Short: Great for both café fare and full meals, with a side of glamourous people watching in storybook setting.
A walk along Mosman’s tree-lined and boutique studded main street can see you rubbing shoulders with celebs, moguls, and backpackers alike. With the burble of an exotic car and the clasp of a Prada bag setting the rhythm, there remains a simple charm in this quaint village oasis. The prime foodie spot to soak it all in has to be the gingerbread cottage of August The Old Place.
