Review The Espresso Room - Mosman

My partner and I came here for the first time today. The staff were very friendly and delivered good customer service . We ordered the chicken sandwich and the borek which were very delicious and filling. The coffees were very good also. šŸ˜‹šŸ˜

This little coffee shop in Mosman has an amazing coffee as well as variety of brekkie and munchies. I will definitely come back to try other menu items

Best local Campos coffee. BG & Harry have excellent food & service and cannot do enough for their customers. I've been going there every day for over 7 years.

Iā€™m addicted to the muffins they are delicious and the best coffee I now have to run further to burn the calories but they are worth it šŸ˜†

Nice staff, but $16 for scrambled eggs on Turkish (?) bread literally only comes with that. Even the Turkish bread was a stretch, more like bland white bread. If you're not gonna put some tomatoes on there or something, perhaps garnish it with something with a bit of colour. Or perhaps I misordered.

Really great & friendly coffee place. The guys know how to make coffee and serve their costumers well. They go the extra mile for you to make you feel welcome. We keep coming back and even make a detour to get a coffee, some banana bread and milkshakes here. Really love it!

Little gem, BG and his team have made this cafe an amazing experience and food. If you are around the area highly recommend to come and have a great coffee. They have toilets available and water bowls for animals šŸ‹ļøšŸ‹ļøšŸ‹ļø

Headline - good food, good coffee and a totally unpretentious atmosphere.

Coffee gets 3.5 - 4 - its campos and my personal taste for campos finds it a little underwhelming but extremely consistent. So if you're a lover of campos - you'll love the coffee here.

Food gets 4 - 4.5, I've eaten here twice so far. They don't have full kitchen facilities so you won't get a full food service, but that hasn't stopped them producing relatively simple, excellent sandwiches and salads. My pick of the breakfast foods has been the fried egg roll with chorizo, onion jam and rocket. I've had similar food in other places and found the onion jam (which seems to be in vogue at the moment) to be un-tasteable and the rocket sourness overpowering - not so here, everything is in just the right proportion for a roll that has a little chorizo pepper, a little rocket sour and a little onion ham sweetness. Very good, a simple display of cooking talent.

Atmosphere gets 3.5 - it's a cafe, so you need to go in expecting a cafe experience. Tables are small and built for two with a lounge down one wall and chairs down the counter side. There is enough space for a laptop and coffee but a laptop and food is unmanageable. The high ceilings (about 3.6m) and cloth panels on one wall mean it feels airy and doesn't really echo - so you can have a conversation comfortably and the music (currently The beegees) is played so quietly it's more of a comfortable background murmur than anything you pay attention to (a very good thing). It is also air conditioned. There is outdoor seating with larger tables but they are on military road - so it's noisy and hot in summer and I would assume noisy and cold in winter. Downside is that it is an open kitchen and they do seem to wash up by hand - so you'll get occasional plates and cutlery banging.

Great experience. Great food, great service. They make sure you get the right coffee... extra hot, extra milk, extra strong or not too strong. Super child friendly with toys and colouring in to entertain the kids. Free m&ms too....

Great coffee. The coffee here is great, the barista/owner will make sure you get your coffee perfect. I was told there will be major changes in menu as well.

Like it, love it!. I can only speak highly of this place. I think the sandwiches are tasty and authentically original. For me its the ideal place for my lunches, which are usually on the run + I reckon its some of the best coffee I know in Sydney. Being an on-the-road salesperson, I frequent cafes all throughout Sydney and this definately rates at the top of my list.
I just wish there would be a few more around Sydney, as I reckon so many places have lost the art of making a tasty sandwich and coffee.

Lovely people. I agree the sandwiches are overpriced and my daughter didn't find them too tasty, however the coffee is great and the owners are lovely! Great feel to the place and nice muffins and cakes.

Overpriced and no love of food. I have literally just purchased 2 items from what looks like a lovely menu. Disappointed. Sandwich - $10.50. No where near the Smoked salmon on rye was anything written on it being toasted. Why should i have to remember to tell them i don't want it toasted? No question was asked to me.. the customer. I mean seriously who toasts smoked salmon anyway. Rye bread which looked liked it could have been a nice large slice when fresh was squashed to an inch of its life with WARM smoked salmon. Does this mean they don't have faith in their products to serve beautiful fresh bread??!! That they have to toast it!

The salad.. described as grilled halomi, beetroot, orange and baby spinach. Yep.. that's what i got... and that's all that was in there. Well the halomi was grilled well and there was sufficient in the salad. Clearly grilling is their forte! The orange was sliced to include all the pith, the hard centre and even seeds which i had to remove before breaking a tooth. It does not take any longer to segment the orange. No need to waste as the centre as it could be used for their fresh juices. Spinach was fine because its not hard to open a packet and pour but the beetroot. OMG.. not more than 2 weeks ago i bought fresh baby beetroot for $2.95 a bunch from Matelli's in Cherry Brook. What this place serve was tinned.. TINNED beetroot...roasted beetroot would have given the salad style. This pathetic excuse for a salad also cost me $12.50

1) why open a cafe and serve lunch if you have no idea and no love of food. Stick to coffee and toasted cheese sandwiches.

2) There are hardly any places in Cremorne to get a good, quick lunch. It wouldn't take much to put care and effort into the food, use fresh ingredients and impress the locals!

I do not Heart The Espresso Room. Thanks very much for making me wait 30 minutes for a sub- standard, luke warm and over priced toasted sandwich. I ordered over the to try avoiding some of the notorious wait time and waited a further 15 minute, to be told that someone else took my order by accident when I was told twice my order was being toasted!! Then the guy making the coffees with attitude says to me "what do you want me to do about it?" when I complain. It is disgusting behaviour. My suggestion to the owners- you know what would have been better than refusing to say sorry for such atrocious and incompetent service or not compensating for my time wasted or giving me a free coffee or discount?? ANYTHING!!
