Review Porterhouse Bistro - Moss Vale

We had a lovely family lunch here. The restaurant was clean and cosy. The food was delicious and reasonably priced considering the large portions. The staff were friendly and very efficient. My favourite was the Chill Prawn Pizza and Steak sandwich. We will definitely visit again when we are in Moss Vale next time to try other dishes! Highly recommended!

Unfortunately a bit disappointed with my meal, was looking forward to a lovely Easter dinner. Got recommended this place by a local at the IGA the morning of specifically for the steak. Got the rump with mushroom sauce as the other option was 400g and didn’t want that big of a portion. Unfortunately no other steak options. Found it a bit cold and not cooked as requested. It was listed as charbroiled but resembled pan seared. Salad was a bit average and the chips unseasoned, cold, and tough. Perhaps they were previously still a bit frozen when cooked? The staff were friendly and helpful, the chef may need higher quality ingredients. I would happily pay more for a better quality steak, chips, and salad. Won’t be returning and can’t recommend to others. Maybe I’m just a bit hangry but had higher hopes as a visitor getting recommended here by a local.

Been here a few times, it has been better. Ordered the seafood basket special, it was very average frozen stuff. And I'm not quite sure the species of fish this piece of chicken is.

Best cooked piece of fillet steak in years and the salt and pepper squid is to die for! Excellent atmosphere and friendly service😁

The place to go for meals. Great meal choices and good quality. Good cold beer selection.

Just a Really good genuine bistro. Food was great. Service was great. Atmosphere great. They accidently charged us $2 more (I hadn't noticed) and they came over and admitted mistake and refunded the money. Food portions are soo good. Very filling. I had the flathead battered fish and was very crunchy and moist on the inside. Chips were the same. We also had the chicken schnitzel which again was moist on the inside. Reasonably priced. Variety of condiments self serviced when u pick up your food.

I had the vege burger but was disappointed. While the burger was higher and the chips were great, the patty just seemed a bit too floury. A shame because I've eaten here before and really liked it. My friend loved her carnivore dish. If you're picky about wines this is the place for you as they have an extensive wine list and even the house wine is good. Middle of the road cost. Plenty of parking out the back (2 hour during the day), a sports bar, clean toilets, accessible. Fun to sit by the front windows and watch love on the main street.
