Review Caffe Acqua - Mount Barker

Kangaroo Jumper
Beautiful food Took the family here first meal in a new location. Was not disappointed loved every bite , they are big portion sizes , mistakenly ordered the teenager an extra waffle thinking they would be smaller 😂 well she ate as much as she could. The big breakie is massive .. I mean big eaters be warned its a big meal The food tastes looks and smells great. Highly recommend, the pricing is high but the food and portion size was worth it

We ordered the 10 pre-made meals. It’s absolutely fantastic and it’s really big portions. Well done for this initiative. We will definitely support you when we can!

Absolutely wonderful service and food!!! I was thrilled to see you offered the choice of a "blue" steak on your menu. I was further thrilled to receive exactly that when I ordered - hats off to your chef! This is rare to find offered, and even more rare to actually be served. Well done. My partner also ordered a steak and it was exactly as he ordered too. Very welcoming staff and all meals served were exceptional. Thank you!!!!!

Wonderful , friendly service. Nice atmosphere. Plenty of parking if you come at the right time of day as the car park is also for the shopping centre. Prices are reasonable. Food is delicious.

Always enjoy the food. Its just like a home cooked meal with a specials board with something different each week. Friendly staff, you can have dessert and a variety of drinks. Efficient delivery of meals.

Absolutely love this place, everything tastes amazing. We come here regularly, ordered pretty much every item on the menu and haven’t found one meal that disappoints. Price is more than fair for the quality and size of food.

Lovely warm welcome. Family atmosphere. Wide range on menu to choose from. Prompt service

I'm very fussy with food & my husband is even worse than I am. However, we have always enjoyed meals at Cafe Aqua. Would we go there for a date night or celebration? No, but it's an excellent choice when we want to take the kids out for a quick meal, the staff are friendly, and there are so many choices on the menu at very a reasonable price. The only negative is the interior is far from inspiring & could do with a revamp.

Surprisingly better than I was expecting. It is extremely cheap for lunch specials, the service is great and the coffee isn’t bad. The only downside is that it is quite commercial and rundown in the decor.

Amazing place friendly staff but lets just take a moment and talk about the food amazing one of the best experience in this kind of food in adelaide perfect seasoning and perfect frying i ordered the nacho i couldn’t find any flaws in it

Had a couple of great pizzas and lamb shank. Service was fantastic, very happy staff. I’ll be back for more. Didn’t know how good it was. Thanks.

CAme in for lunch with family good linch menu for a reasonable price. Food came out rather quickly and it was tasty. Staff all had a smile. Looking at the rest of the menu looked good for dinner. Reccomended

They have pretty Good food, but there are not many vegetarian friendly options available . Decent service most of the time and pretty decent prices.

You are always guaranteed a smile walking into Caffe Acqua Mount Barker. They have good food and a huge selection; from breakfast to lunch to dinner. The baristas can also make a great cup of coffee.

We went there on a Scoopon Voucher for Breakfast at 9am on a Saturday Morning and when we arrived there was only one other couple dining there. We were glad we got there early though as within about 20 minutes the place was really full with a couple of large groups and several families. I ordered the Big Breakfast and my Breakfast Buddy ordered the Eggs & Bacon, both with poached eggs. Our voucher also included a beverage each so we both ordered the Hot Chocolate. The Hot Chocolate arrived quickly and looked and tasted great, big thumbs up for this. My Big Breakfast consisted of loads of smokey bacon, 2 eggs, hash brown, sausage, tomato and mushrooms served on 2 thick slices of toast and homemade tomato relish on the side. The Eggs and Bacon came with plenty of bacon and was also served on 2 slices of thick toast and the homemade relish. The serving size was plentiful but as it was a chilly morning the food went cold rather quickly which was disappointing and the eggs were quite hard as I prefer them to be gooey inside. It would have been better if the plates were warmed. However, another nice touch was that they provided free Saturday Papers to customers and most people took one and were busy discussing items in the paper and people probably stayed there longer because of this. Food was coming out quite quickly from the kitchen despite it being busy and as I checked out the plates all the food looked good. We will return again as I am keen to check out other options such as the Breakfast Pizza, Breakfast Burger, Spinach and Mushroom Omelette or the Eggs Benedict. Overall the place was a little noisy due to the acoustics and the number of people but better to be busy than dead silent with no customers. Staff were efficient and friendly. We will return soon. Good Job.

Don't waste your money.

Was really hungry and looking forward to a good pizza.
Ordered 12 inch pizza ($18.90), when i picked up the first slice all the toppings literally slid off in one piece.
Absolute rip off, I've had better from dominos (and thats saying a lot).

Used to be very consistent, unfortunately appears to have reduced meal sizes and quality. Caesar salad used to be quite good, lettuce a bit old with brown bits on it and the "poached" eggs looks like it has been microwaved too long. Main chicken scallopine used to come with vegetables, now just mash. If the meals are family friendly and people pleaser style the prices need to reflect that and above all consistency is important, hope they read the recent reviews and get back up to the previous standard

Bad pasta. Had the chilli and bacon pasta (cant remember name) and wasn't tasty at all, little flavour and little chilli. Quite disappointed wont return any time soon.

Meal disappointment. Potato wedges looked nice until my daughter bit into one all black inside ! Couldn't eat them !
Chicken Schnietzel love heart shaped just like we buy at woolworths :( over cooked and dry ! Came with a rough soggie salad and I paid $3.95 for mushroom gravy :( instant gravy with chunks of hard mushrooms !
Waitress was lovely .
Cost $36! For 2 meals!
Crab Cakes
Nothing special- just standard pizza. Couldn't fault it though.
Mel Bissell

Quality. Have been a fan of Caffe Acque for quite some time now - unfortunately the quality of food has declined and coupled with rising pricing structures, count me out - will not return
No Bull Foodie

Coffee was the best I have tasted in a long time. Had the risotto fungi which was. Time for the dish to arrive was a little over 30 mins which is a little long considering the place was only 20% full. All in all, bloody brilliant!!!

Give it a miss. Loud with mass produced, oily food. We have been a few times for family events as it is very kid friendly but are always disappointed with the quality of the food.

We went there for dinner as part of the Hoot Jazz Festival as there was to be live Jazz while you dine. I picked it over the Barker Hotel due to the good urbanspoon reviews and really wish I hadn't. When we walked in, the place was quite busy, few tables were empty and we were quickly seated. There was a jazz singer singing but you could barely hear anything over the echoes of the voices of other diners bouncing off the glass walls and the concrete floor. Unfortunately it sounded like Central market on a Saturday afternoon. Anyways, I ordered their veal scallopine special and a pasta marinara dish for my partner at the counter and requested for linguini pasta but the staff member had no idea what linguini was and kept asking me if I meant fettuccine. That was my first alarm bell for the night, they have a pasta menu but have no idea what linguini is? So I said spaghetti and he finally understood and put our order through. When our food arrived, the pasta looked good, with a good amount of seafood but my veal special was 3 pink pieces of veal sitting on a mountain of mash with a few spinach leaves and drowned in a bright yellow sauce. The sauce was sweet and did not taste of anything else unfortunately and completely overtook everything. I scraped off as much of the sauce and ate the veal pieces. The pasta lacked flavor in the tomato sauce, there was alot of sauce, but it did nothing for the dish. Although we used our Entertainment book voucher to get a 25% discount on the bill, the dishes cost $23-$24 each and I cannot help but feel cheated. I guess their $9.90
Lunch specials would be reasonable for their quality of food but I would not recommend dinner at full price and will not be returning.

One of the better "Acqua's". Café Acqua is a low risk option for a quick meal coz you pretty much know what you're going to get (but a BIG step up from say, a Macca's!). Had the Brushcetta with a Focaccia. It was what the menu said it would be and actually a little better than I expected, based upon a couple of visits to another Acqua (north of Adelaide). Most importantly Cafe Acqua is good value. Will visit again when next in the area.

Gr8 meals allround, cheap and handy. A bit loud at times cause its so open. One of the better meals in mt barker
The Fine Diner
I go in there for the $9.90 lunches. I always get a burger, they are delicious!
Shaun
Tasty food, fast service, polite and friendly staff

Cheap but you get what you pay for. I had spaghetti bolognese, which was on their $9.90 menu. It had three types of meat, mince, chunks of beef, and some other meat. It was full of fat and gristle, it was terrible! Could'nt eat any of it but I guess you get what you pay for.

Great food, great service. Love it. We dine here regularly with family, friends or just the two of us and are always happy with food and service. Grandkids like it too. Lots and lots of variety and good menu choices plus cheaper options that are tasty and filling. One time only, the service was slow. Best value for money in Mt Barker. (Venue can be a bit too noisy sometimes.)
Kim
Had lunch here yesterday. Got the penne amatriciana for $9.90. HUGE serving. Tasted very good considering how much I paid for it. Service was efficient. Would definitely consider it again for a quick, cheap lunch.
Melissa
Fast and friendly service, huge menu, large servings, and well priced. Can't say enough good things about this place.
Cindy
Breakfast menu was great but lunch and dinner menu very boring and predictable. Lack of vegetarian options.
Master Diner
Great new restaurant in Mt Barker. Good value for money and service, atmosphere was superb. I had the seafood risotto which was a large serve with plenty of seafood. Timing of delivery was spot on as I mentioned to the friendly staff, I was in a hurry. I would recommend this place and I will be returning.

Best value restarunt/chain in sa i love going to this place manny times ive been here i usually order the salt and pepper squid as is always maintained as the best ive ever had . With main meal $10 plus u cant go wrong . Not just the price but the food is better that cafe primo with the ammount of times ive been to both cafes i can never get sick of aqua i dont think and is quite well propotained and comfortable layout of the restarunt . The only time in the all the visits to the restarunt ive had to wait up to 20 mins was for the massive seafood platter ,if u saw it ud kno why . As for the service as busy as they get the maintain a calm and friendly staff and atmosphere -10/10 just wish the had more in adelaide especially city

I went with two friends on a weekday for lunch. I got the Chicken Parmigana, which was delicious. Besides waiting 30 minutes for our meals, in a place filled with 6 people, and my friends steak being well done when he asked for medium rare, this place was good. Also good that they had a fully licensed bar!
