Review Wild Ginger Thai - Mount Gambier

Nice service, very kind waiter. I order a red Thai curry doesnt come with rice it cost $23 + $4for the rice which I don't mine, but what they gave me is a container full of veggies and 6 pieces of beef.Tastes ok not spicy at all which they stated spicy on the menu, eat able but not the best I had.$23 I expect a little bit more meat in there or a good favor. If you want to try you can give it a go but don't expect too much. But I don't think I will go again.

Delicious food, priced accordingly, the service was friendly, and food was served at in a reasonable amount of time…considering it was a full house (Tuesday night). The dishes we ordered, and recommend are: The Beef Massaman Curry, super delicious, meat was tender, either rich but not overpowering flavours, The Chicken Pad Thai & Pad Char Seafood Stir-fry, which were both equally as delicious 🤤 We will definitely be recommending & returning next time we visit Mt Gambier! Sometimes I just need a break. Food is excellent. I should treat myself more often! Picked my own food up. Easy really. AND plenty left for another meal! Give yourself a break too! and enjoy!

The food here was spectacular. The place was packed in a Tuesday evening and I can see why. The staff were super friendly and the service was very quick despite being so busy. If you’re stopping by mount gambier I’d highly recommend this place.

Loved this place. Great food, wide selection, excellent service and large portions. Wine was nice too. Can’t fault it. Next time in town, will be the first choice for another visit.

We tried this place after staying in Mount Gambier overnight. Fantastic experience. The wait staff were super friendly and great at recommending dishes. We had a stir fry and Barramundi fish with rice. The fish dish was amazing, it’s is recommended by the chef and well worthy of being the top pick. Resturant is cleans and ambient is cozy. Highly recommended.

Flash restaurant. Price's over the top order 15 minutes late $11.95 ×2,satay sticks chicken ??not even close to real Thai.give themselves good-look hire 4 ozzy girls then Ozzie's at table pay the$$$.case of pray on Sunday Monday. Pinch rest of week.better value up the road.

Outstanding meals everytime, always friendly staff and very reasonably priced. We find ourselves coming back here time after time. If you really want to treat yourself this is the place

The current 3.4 rating does not reflect the quality of this restaurant at all... All the dishes we ordered were absolutely delish. Tom yum was flavourful (would love more spicy kick and some of the seafood was a tad chewy), panang barra fillet was very yummy and came in a very generous portion, and there was nothing to fault about the tofu stir-fry. Would definitely recommend this place.

Amazing Thai food and nice staff. I personally recommend butterfly wontons as an appetizer, pad is my favourite dish, the beef is good. The only pity is the coconut rice, it is bite too salty.

Very busy and I could see why. The food was very tasty and well presented. My favourite: Thai beef salad was cooked with flavour that left a lasting impression. Sadly the table service was not on par with the food. I don’t want to spell out all the issues that I experienced on the night, but I really feel that it could have made the dining experience much better. Great venue though with lots to enjoy.

Had green curry with chicken and pad thai with seafood. The green curry chicken was good but the pad thai was just okay. <br/><br/>The staff were friendly and provided good table service.

Great seafood, great environment in the small town. Love the Creamy King Prawn. The Pad Thai noodles are a bit salty but it still tastes nicely. Highly recommend.

We had Phad Thai and Drunken Noodles for dinner a couple of days ago while visiting Mt Gamiber.<br/>Phad Tai with prawns were nice, 7 pieces prawns in total. I was expecting perhaps 8 at least for $23,90?<br/>Drunken Noodles was flooded with soy sauce, extremely salty!!! It cost me $21.90.<br/>I guess without any competition, everything becomes expensive.<br/>As I didn't have enough cash, so I had to pay by paywave, and that cost me extra to pay by card on top of a already expensive meal.<br/>Sorrentos around the corner seems more reasonable. At least I had 8 pieces of prawns in my risottos.

This place is amazing. Almost worth a detour and overnight stop if you're driving Melbourne to Adelaide! Seafood dishes are fantastic. Service can be a tiny bit variable, but wow, what a place!

Great value. The servings were generous, beautifully presented and with delicious flavours. The space is tastefully decorated, the lighting is not too bright, there is a good ambience, it was buzzing but not noisy. We were served by a friendly waitress but a dismissive waiter, hence the 4.5 rather than a 5.0. Definitely recommended.

Awful. I've had Thai in many places, including Thailand and this was not Thai. My massaman curry could easily be confused for Indian food. The other two dishes we ordered were so salty we only got through a quarter of them before leaving. When you have to go to another place to get dinner after you've gone out for dinner there is something wrong. Would not go back to this place. The only reason it got a 1.5 is because they were kind enough to open the upstairs to seat us as we didn't have a booking.

Couldn't accommodate. Wait staff was friendly and professional but on advising of my Vegan requirements, the kitchen apparently said that they could not accommodate whatsoever. I had to walk out. It is rare to find a restaurant that rejects business but this is one of them. Disappointed.

Best Thai food I have ever had... I have walked past this establishment many times before, never will I again

Menu is more Chinese Malaysian influenced than strictly Thai, and even the signature Thai dishes have quirky little creative additions, but generally underwhelming - everything was far too sweet. Service also very slow. For the prices they charge, I was expecting much better.

Very Poor all round.. Very bizarre presentation for the Massaman beef curry. Long slender plate. I was not offered any side plate to mix. Also had to waid through copious amounts of very salty curry just to find the beef needless to say the roti bread was a sponge for oil.<br/>I just love it when staff ask 'how was your meal'? I tell them politely exactly what I thought only to spoken back rudely. The waitres is poorly trained and her manorism reflects this. <br/>Poor service.

Excellent thai food. We ate here on a Tuesday night. The food was really amazing and very generous serves. The barramundi, YUM! Highly recommend with divine sauce. The service was great and staff really genuine and honest ( thanks for finding a lost wedding ring and calling us guys!!!!). We will definitely recommend to everyone!!!!

Awesome Service. This little busy thai place has a nice atmosphere and great service.<br/>A diner with me was vegetarian and she made sure that he got a dish that definitely contained no meat/sauce product that wasn't totally vegetarian.<br/>The meals were decent and I was very pleased with the quality.<br/>Good selection of wines and drinks too.<br/>Will be back :)

It was a cold night and we walked into a nice warm dining room. The staff were extremely friendly and happy to help. My Beef Rendang was nice enough (beef a bit tough), but my partner's green curry was a bit sweet for her taste. Extremely generous serves.

I'm glad we booked.... We decided to try this place after reading reviews about eateries in Mount Gambier. We were after a good feed of fresh food and vegies and Thai is usually a sure thing for both. We were not disappointed. The vego Green Curry was delicious and the Beef Rendang was lovely. Enough spice to clear the nose and flavours you only get in a good Thai restaurant. The serving sizes were ample and too much for us to finish. The entree serves were good too, the chicken satay skewers were pretty good but the cold rolls were lovely. Nice fresh food with a great variety and reasonably priced.

The food was great. And if you had a whole evening to waste with great company then go here. Because the service was so slow I reckon glaciers move faster. The staff are very pleasant, but speedy service is definitely not their talent. <br/>We averaged our food at 8 -9 out of 10.

Excellent rendang, one of the best ones we have tasted. Stir fried chicken with basil was VERY salty. HUGE meal sizes as is typical in the south east. Would recommend.
