Always amazing and worth the hours drive to treat ourselves to our fav place to eat. Missing the fresh thai basil and herbs of old, but still god damn good. Won't eat Thai in our town, happy to travel :):)

Lovely people and great service. Their schnitzel and chips, oh my goodness, THE BEST we have ever had anywhere. We just love their garlic prawn dish too ... and their curry puffs, spring rolls & Wontons are absolutely delicious - and just love their Pad Thai too - we have NEVER been disappointed with anything .. the best Thai place we have ever been too - great job!!!
Delicious. Love the chicken cashew with coconut rice or the pad thai. One thing I'm thankful for is when I ask for mild that it actually is.
Omg the food was just amazing I found out since that lots of people have eaten there and they also love it.
Even though it was really busy the food was worth the wait. Authentic Thai food, filling sizes and lovely staff. Will definitely be coming again

Spiciness is customisable here, which is amazing. Last thing I want in a Thai restaurant is that food is too Australianised, and lack punch in terms of spice. Had the seafood Tom Yum in "hot" (2nd most spicy option) and it was the right amount of spicy for me. The only other restaurant which had good Tom Yum punch is at Doodee in Melbourne. Pad Thai is a tad bit too sweet and wet for my liking.

A good place in a quaint town. This place has very good Thai dishes but it’s also very busy. We had to book a table 3 hours early for a Saturday night. The quantity of the dishes was enough to feed 2 people. Frankly I never expected this place to serve such good food but the dishes took me by surprise. We had the traditional Thai curry and fried rice. A must try for tourists looking for a good place to eat at Mount Gambier.
We were craving for Thai food so upon doing some research this seemed the place to try. We tried few different entrees and they were absolutely delicious, the satay chicken skewers were tender, full of flavour and perfect. We ordered green curry and pad Thai, both were good but not the best. The chicken was a bit dry and the pad Thai noodle seemed a little bit overcooked. The food had decent amount of heat and flavour, and the serves were pretty large actually.
This was our first time here and the food was amazing!!!! I had the Sweet and Sour Chicken (the food photo) which was by far the best I've ever had. The staff were so friendly, even with being really busy. Definitely recommend this place. 😋🤩😍

We were starving and arrived late in Mount Gambier from Adelaide. We didn’t even google it what’s nearby. We just went to this town by surprise and didn’t want to expect more as we know it’s gonna be raining a whole of our visits. We just walked in and they tried their best to accomodate us. We are very thankful to have a table in the middle of busy night. The food was amazing. The staff were very attentive. We will come back!
First time at the Southern Thai Cafe. Clean venue. Helpful, friendly staff and very busy with take away orders. Loved the taste of the spicy prawn curry, the prawns were cooked well and was just the right amount of spice. We also had chicken panang curry, very tasty, the chicken cooked well, the sauce was just a touch too creamy for our taste. We'd definitely eat here again if we return to Mount Gambier and are happy to recommend it.
Food were good! Love the Thai green curry and apple salad! Kids meal were bigger than I expected which was wonderful! Service was a bit slow but understand as it was busy. We have 9ppl and they accommodated our needs very well. Highly recommended! Will definitely come back when we go to Mt Gambier again.
Good food. Great service. We had take away from here last night and well pleased. The Phad Char seafood red curry was spicy, the seafood nice. The rice noodles in PadSeeEw great but not a fan of the pork. Satay sauce was awesome & full of peanuts, great array of tasty vegetables not full of onion.
