My partner and i are just over 3 weeks into trying to be Vegan and discovered this place. Glad we did. Went last Saturday lunchtime so pretty quiet but fast service, very friendly and helpful staff. One even taking time to help us with some choices to take home from the freezer. The food was so fresh and delicious. The We even took some home for my non vegan son and he liked it. Going back tonight with my daughter who is trying to be vegan and will probably try the breakfast of Saturday. Looks like going Vegan is going to be easier than i thought. Love the hut! The fake duck pancakes were hard to tell from the real thing.
Ordered golden curry as it was recommended by the owner. Knew they’ve got a 4.2 score before I came still didn’t put too much expectation because I just don’t find the menu appealing. But it all changed after I had first bite of the food. I have to say this is the best curry I’ve ever had! Even though it’s vegan. Turns out turning vegan is not so hard if vegan food can be this good! I know i know it’s curry but I have to say that this curry is full of flavour! Will definitely go back and try other dishes.
Came here as my daughter is vegan, excellent. Started off with spring rolls, salt and pepper mushrooms and nuggets - really really good. For mains weI had the Laksa, Tom Yum fried rice and 7 seas wonder. All good fantastic, except the laksa needed more salt. Would rate a 4.8, the food was good, the venue nice, the staff very friendly and efficient.
Love this place!
Staff were friendly and food was delicious.
Loved the healthy ratio of greens to rice.
Really enjoyed my meal.
The only thing is that the seating area at the back produces a lot of echo. Slightly unpleasant to make conversations especially if there is a large group of people occupying the area.
First time here for a dine in meal as Loving Hut was highly recommended by some friends from my Church and they were spot on. The food was great. I had dinner with my mum and her other half and they were extremely impressed as was I. Mum did not have any bad reactions as she usually gets burry Vision from MSG but mum had NO such issues. All the tables inside were reserved so we had to sit out front were it was a little cold but the place was busy. Food came out a bit staggered which is always a pain but in the scheme of things was not a huge deal as the food was fresh, tasty and above all healthy !! Thanks. SARDS
I have been going to the restaurant for years now and I've always had such good experiences. The staff are always polite and the food is always out quickly and is amazing!
My favourite place ever!!! $13 plates, huge portions. Love love love. Good food, always busy. Definitely needs to expand seating however and maybe better decor :) but overall my favourite place to eat.
Great Vegetarian Lasagne.
I came here with a friend and it was a very nice experience.
The food was enjoyable, for a big meat eater like myself.
I would recommend to others to try.
Really stoked to have found this little gem on holiday. Shared the chickpea Marsala and sweet and sour nugget dishes. Very very tasty. The nuggets in the sweet and sour were such a lovely texture- we were really pleased. We took a piece of the vegan double choc cake home and wow! Completely delish. Would definitely recommend.
Light. Fresh. Delicious. The Loving Hut never disappoints with its wonderful vegetarian/vegan foods. I tried the "pork" buns and I couldn't have told the difference if they had used real meat! The staff are always polite and the service is reasonably fast. The dishes are never oily or fatty and you leave the restaurant feeling refreshed and satisfied.
Really like this place! The laksa was sooo yummy, and the salt and pepper tofu was to die for! I definitely recommend this place to anyone after vegan Asian food, it comes pretty quickly too and pretty good prices!
I like to think I know a thing or two about veg eating out. Having been to all vegan cafes and restaurants in Brisbane to date. This, is hands down, the best. Generally I have found vegan and vegetarian to be predominantly Asian cuisine, so this was a great change of vibe. The menu is very extensive, including many cuisines (pastas, noodles, cakes, many mock meat dishes) and large portions. Customer service has always been sufficient and the price is extremely reasonable. It's not particularly fancy or well decorated, but it doesn't need to be, the food is always amazing and I recommend this to omni's vegos and vegans. I love that there is a grocery section. My favourites on the menu are the 'pork' bbq buns, the lasange, the cabonara and the 'chicken' nuggets.
one of the best vegan restaurants in brisbane. the tex mex bites are a favourite of mine aswell as the lasagne. great service as well. definitely one of my favourite restaurants in the area
It's been many, many years since I've been to the Loving Hut but everything still seems the same down to the tables and chairs and the posters on the walls. The service was swift, friendly and the food came out very quickly. I ordered a Tom Yum soup and Vegetable Stir-fry, both were tasty but the Tom Yum was the best I ever had. I hope I'll be back soon to get the same awesome soup and try some of the desserts!
Love the food here, always delicious. However I will say the restaurant itself needs a major face lift, it's defiantly not pretty. But the food sure is, it's one of the best vegan restaurants in Brisbane by far.
I love this place.
Been coming for years. Food is very affordable, generous and absolutely delicious. The Peking luck pancakes are a favourite.
There is a little freezer with some vegan treats available for purchase too.
They are also very dog friendly.
We have been here twice now, food is great. We have gotten the cabonara and korma. Both were fantastic. We also had a raw berry cake that was amazing! Will be coming back again and again.
I love this restaurant, I love looking up at the big menu on the wall and choosing what I want. I've been satisfied with every meal I've had and I've tried LOTS. Atmosphere is not so good, service is great and friendly though.
Been going here for years. Tasty, fresh and healthy. Out of the 50 or so times I've been I've only had one unsatisfactory piece of food. This place rules
We like Loving Hut. Don't go there for plush surrounds and don't go there if you prefer table service. But do go there if you prefer great vegetarian and vegan options usually well prepared and delivered in no time at all. We like the Spring Rolls (2 serves is too much) and the Vege Korma and the Sweet and Sour is great too. Worth a look.
Not vegan or vegetarian by any means but my sister is (vegan) so having the option of a restaurant where she is guaranteed a (good) meal is fantastic. The dishes are tasty and most of them you don't even miss the meat.
Best restaurant I have been to. Meals are amazingly affordable (ideal for uni students) with incredible quality AND decent serving sizes! The atmosphere is great, perfect for a date night or catch up with friends, the lighting is spot on outside with enough light to see what you eat but not too much to impact the mood. The staff are friendly and the restaurant also has some educational flyers for anyone interested. Definitely recommend to any vegan or omnivore alike!
I was introduced to Loving Hut by a vegetarian friend a couple years ago. Admittedly (and a little embarrassingly) my idea of vegan food was that it was boring and bland with little variety. Loving Hut opened my eyes to a completely different world and will also serve as a reminder not to judge food before trying it. As it was a birthday dinner the food was pre-ordered and came out as a banquet. Everything was flavoursome and hard to fault. The setup of the restaurant is a little dated and could do with a spruce up but is easy to let go once you dig into the food.
Loving Hut is a dream come true for vegans and vegetarians alike. They have amazing variety and their dishes are always flavoursome and filling. The banquets they have for special occasions are a MUST!
For skeptical non veggos, I recommend the Beijing black bean, Tex-mex bites and their lasagna.
The atmosphere is a little lacking on nights when there isn't live music, but they definitely make up for it with friendly service and excellent food.
A vegetarian's dream! This place has been around for a few years and is still thriving to provide a varied selection of dishes. I particularly liked their crumbed mushroom entree, and stir-fried vegetables and rice. Not really a fan of faux-meat, though there are a number of dishes which include this strange delicacy.
I dined here in a group of 8 including one child.
My dining partner and I shared salt and pepper tofu for entrée. The floured tofu was pleasant but needed a bit more kick.
I ordered Thai red curry for my main however for whatever reason I received Tom Yum fried rice. It was an interesting intense fried rice mainly due to the combination of lemongrass and chilli. My dining partners ordered polenta and spaghetti bolognaise.
This place is quite busy and obviously popular with locals. It's cheap and cheerful and in my view It's probably the best vegan restaurant I've seen since Squirrels. The menu is extensive. There are enough positives to come back.
Loving Hut is casual and affordable with no bells or whistles but they do serve tasty, organic, vegan food. I had the polenta meal. The polenta itself was quite plain but cooked really nicely and complemented the tasty bolognaise-style sauce. I also tasted the laksa which was mild and missing the classic laksa taste but this is a good alternative for those wanting to avoid fish sauce.
The Loving Hut is consistent and a great place for everyday meals! We love the Heavenly Salad - so fresh and crunchy, with a sweet dressing.
The raw zucchini pasta is fun, and a pretty authentic tasting Tom Yum, even without prawns. My mum loves the Laksa, but I'm not a fan of the faux seafood. The veggie korma is great, and the Loving Wrap is delicious! But the best thing is the Ten Wonders, it's basically a giant salad on a bed of rice or noodles (always go the brown rice). With a hot dressing (I'm pathetic, so have to get it on the side).
Then there's the desserts... The raw vegan chocolate pie is amazing.
I used to enjoy vegetarian meals there during my vege-day twice a month. It is a vegan restarutant serving various vegetarian meals in different cuisines. Parking facitlity is great. I love to have the fried Tofu anf Laska there. If they can put both yellow noodle and vermicelli in the laska then it will be more perfect. Some negatives there need to be paid attention by the owner. Production of dishes is not consistant and service sometimes was not good at all if the owners were not there.
A regular favourite. Great veg food, a bunch of variety and they sell vegan dog food too! Tex Mex bites. Order it. You won't be disappointed.
Only drawback is the TVs that play constant religious content. Which is amusing, in its own way, I suppose.
One of the best. This is one of the best restaurants in Brisbane. Clean, healthy, very friendly staff, great atmosphere and lots of information on veganism available. The food is consistently good aswell! The northern pan bread, cream cheese wontons and Beijing black bean main are a recommendation!
Surprised me. In a good way. Was surprised with the amount of choices and how good the food tasted. I'm usually a meat eater but I'll definitely be heading back!
Had dinner here tonight and was extremely enjoyable. The last time I came it was really slow getting take away so I was a bit put off. It now seems to be running very efficiently as it used to. We had the crumbed mushroom which was lovely. The seven seas which I would recommend for any one that eats meat and is wary of vegan cuisine. We also had the mushroom pasta which honestly was amazing! I thought it would be very underwhelming but it just had the perfect amount of cashew sauce. Overall the service and food were amazing. Any vegans or non vegans need to try this place
Don't expect service. Heard a lot about this place from vegetarian/vegan friends. Visited tonight for a birthday dinner with friends and unfortunately, upon arrival we were not greeted - worse still, several staff could tell we were confused about how/where to order, yet they ignored us. There is no table service, no menus and you need to collect your own cutlery/water and set your own table. Eventually we guessed that you look at a menu wall, decide what you want, then order before collecting your cutlery and sitting down, no thanks to the staff who were watching on and refusing to help us.
The menu is extensive, well-priced and offers many options both for those who like 'fake meat' and those who don't. Some of our entrees were delicious (cream cheese wantons), some were a big let down (salt and pepper tofu - dry, no salt and pepper). All four entrees came with the same sweet chilli sauce, some variation would be nice. Our meals were all tasty and of good size, and it was re-assuring to know that we weren't consuming any animal product.
The decor inside is plain and not air-conditioned, outside is also plain but roomy. Unfortunately dining outside was noisy due to Logan Rd traffic and the local lorikeet flock. Meals came out very quickly.
Not BYO, no alcohol available.
I will give Loving Hut another go, but perhaps we will take away next time as the service and decor leaves a lot to be desired.
Quick service good selection on menu ... Sauces could have been taster. But overall yum
Reliable vegan food. I have been to Loving Hut more times than I can count. It's our default restaurant when we don't feel like cooking. The food is good, the service is reasonable, and the prices are all in all quite low. My only gripe is that as a long-standing customer, the menu gets a bit boring. In the several years I've been going there the menu has hardly changed, so I always end up eating the same things over and over, and while the dishes are nice, the dining experience becomes a little predictable. However, if you're a first-time customer, you'll be blown away!
We had the Polenta and Vege Korma - Amazing flavours and great service - great little vegan restaurant!
4.5* stars (/5) Great ser.... 4.5* stars (/5)
Great service! Food was really quickly made and was delicious! I really enjoyed the laksa and heavenly salad!!!
4.5* stars (/5)
Awesome Food. Great variety, awesome price. cant complain!
Great variety of foods. Love the soy nuggets and raw chocolate tart. Ok prices. Pan bread was also good.
Love it!. I have eaten at this restaurant several times with my family. My 4 year old loves the vegie nuggets. We have had a range of meals and have loved them. The vegan chocolate cake is to die for! We are vegetarians but enjoy the vegan food. Highly recommend this place to everyone!
Great suburban vegan restaurant.
Scoupon voucher - we had two beautiful curries (the red curry was amazing!!), cheese wantons and bread, and loved all of it! Such great value and huge portions. We are not vegetarians but would certainly return and would recommend! Great job Loving Hut!
Delicious! This place was buzzing at 6.30pm tonight (tuesday), which is always a good start and the food smelt great. For starters we had the cheese wontons and the rice paper rolls. The wontons were my favourite but the rice paper rolls were yummy too. For main, I had the vegetarian laksa and my friend had the vegetable stir fry. Both meals were so good we ate it all and portions are very generous. The staff were quite friendly and the food came out super quick (and practically all at the same time) so take your appetite wih you! Will definitely be back.
Diana. Dined here this morning with a non vegetarian friend. We both thought it was great. My thai red curry was one of the best thai curries I have had since visiting Thailand, it was fiercely hot & just yum. All the servings were more than generous & service was pretty swift too
Love the Loving Hut. I have two words to say about The Loving Hut - consistenly fantastic!!
Very prompt service. A reasonably large group of us (18) met up at the Loving Hut on a Saturday night. We sat out the back in the add-on and they lit the outdoor heater for us which made it quite cosy. Basic seating, but perfectly adequate. All meals are vegan but there is something for everyone. We ordered entree and main at the same time - wrong move, as all the dishes basically followed us back from the counter to our table and we ended up trying to juggle 4 plates in a very limited area. He ordered the cream cheese wontons *yum* and Satay Nuggets and I chose the crumbed mushroom (perfectly ok, but not outstanding) and the special: "Peking Luck". This dish was quite awesome with wrappers, strips of cucumber and spring onion, and marinated strips of un-duck, complete with a little soy flavoured dipping bowl. This enabled the assembling of little un-duck wraps - quite fun, but not terribly easy with all the dishes heaped on us at once. Very reasonably priced, very busy, and will definitely visit again.
Very Impressed... Big Thumbs Up!. Finally went there last night. Service was prompt and friendly. Was amazed by the choice in menu. It's so wonderful to have a restaurant like this around. Ordered the 10 delights with noodles and my husband ordered the Satay Nuggets. He's a meat eater, and even he liked it. He is lactose intolerant, so he was even impressed with soy milk being the norm and being able to have a dessert for once! Will definitely recommend and will definitely be going back... maybe once a week!
Fantastic Food. My husband and I are not Vegans but love going to this restaurant because the food is simply delicious. The Golden Curry is amazing every time. The setting is a bit daggy but they put all of the effort into the food and it is the reason we go there. Highly recommended. The curries are fantastic.
Incredible food at excellent prices. I would recommend each person getting a few snacks or light meals and sharing with everyone. Great way to try new things. A very friendly environment for meat eaters to explore meat free eating.
Spectacular vegan food. This has to be the best vegan food on the planet
Yummy Lasagne. Love the vegan lasagne! Lots of options, looking forward to going back. The dumplings........not so impressive.
Had a great meal there the other Friday night. It was busy, but service was fast and friendly. food was fantastic and well priced. Had the chow mein (very yummy) and deep fried cheese! meals are a great size and good for the non vego also :)
Good option. A good option for meat lovers, vego/s and vegans. Went twice in two weeks during the night service and was the quality of the food was top notch coupled with friendly service.
Wonderful. A small lovely eatery that caters for vegies and vegan's, but worth while for anyone else to try anyway.
Cheap-Cheerful & Filling.
Great dining for vegans and non-vegans alike. We have been to Loving Hut numerous times, and the food is always tasty and reliable.
The menu is a good size, considering it's 100% vegan, and it is always reasonably priced. Try the salt + pepper tofu or tex-mex bites for a starter.
Yes, they display some religious propaganda that is... strange. But nothing you can't easily ignore.
Loving hut has been serving the vegan community with very affordable delights to mouth, belly, and heart - fresh, satisfying, and knd. As one of the only couple of vegan eateries in town, despite the pervasive religious videos, loving hut pleases.
