We tried the vegetarian and mushroom crepes for breakfast. They both were very tasty and came with mashed potatoes. It was interesting to have it for breakfast. Coffee was relatively nice. We loved the ambience more than anything else, particularly early in the morning before the shopping centre opens. Staff were friendly. Their iPad ordering system is somehow convenient since you to get to see what your food looks like.
Before entering I scroll through the restaurant’s Zomato reviews which are at best mixed. Seeing the restaurant was bustling with patrons, Phuong Tran says to give them a try. On entry we are warmly welcomed with a smile, taken to our table and shown the iPad ordering system.
* Blueberry Heaven ($12) looks heavenly! Served with two Pancakes, I see a generous serving of Blueberries in the sauce, a big dollop of double cream and a scoop of Vanilla ice cream. We enjoy this beautifully presented delicious Dessert.
* Affogato ($5) is served with two scoops of Vanilla ice cream and two shots of coffee. The coffee is intense, full flavoured and I love the extra scoop of ice cream. This is certainly the best value Affogato in Brisbane and is highly recommended.
The seats at our booth are worn and overdue for replacement. Service could have been faster but considering the crowd, the 20 minute wait was understandable. I commend the Manager on the food and friendly service. We will visit for lunch/dinner for my next review.
VEGAN OPTIONS! Super excited to go here and for them to have a clear vegan option menu. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The food was really good too!
Can’t wait to come back :)
Pancake Manor is always a great treat for breakfast. We sat in one of their booth seats. The table was a little bit sticky which wasn't ideal but you are at a place that specialises in pancakes so it's not entirely unsurprising. I ordered the Bananarama which was delicious. The butterscotch sauce was amazing. Staff were attentive and prompt, so no complaints there either. Very happy will be back for sure!
This place has delicious pancakes. The texture of the pancake is fluffy, soft, and tasty. However, if you choose pancake with harder texture, I would recommend the chocolate one. Bananarama is a good choice. The ultimate is one thing that you have to try. It is extremely unforgettable.
Delicious crepes, waffles & pancakes.... warning: a huge injection of sugar causes food coma😁
I love the crepes with grilled banana or apple, yum!!
Quick friendly service. Clean cafe, but check the water cups, they smell a bit because they are not dried properly before reuse.
Avoid parking near the alfresco food court, always awful. It's worth parking in another section and walking through.
Service is always friendly and quick. We love getting the breakfast set menu as it’s good value for money and VERY filling. Other items on the menu very exxy, so have been discouraged from trying. Overall good!
Pancakes for breakfast on a Sunday morning what more could you want? Despite a line up and being told there was a 30min wait we were seated quite promptly and food came out fast. They have an awesome $10.95 deal which includes a drink(75c extra for a cappuccino) and your choice of pancake combo (shown in the picture with bacon). We also ordered the strawberry patch. The pancakes were soft, fluffy and as delicious as I remember. Will definitely be back!
Went for lunch early in the week. Place was quiet, friendly and prompt service. The pancakes were definitely better than I remember from the seedy city outlet at 2am many years ago. Fresh, fluffy pancakes - generous portions and great toppings. The tea was disappointing- not happy to get a pot of boiling water and a lipton tea bag. Hopefully the coffee drinkers aren't served international roast! Definitely better than I was expecting- nice for a quiet catch up with friends.
Delicious hot fluffy pancakes. Had a scoopon for our lunch and we were taken to our table quickly and the waitress was very friendly and explained how everything worked. Ordered and received our food within 8 minutes and she constantly came back to check on how we were going and if we wanted more.
Slight negative was the blueberry sauce that was way too runny. A little less sugar in the pancakes would have been better.
I had breakfast here the other day and it was amazing. Very reasonably priced. I had two huge pancakes, a few pieces of bacon, an egg and a large orange juice for under $15. Would definitely recommend for pancake lovers like myself
I'm very happy when they opened one here cause I don't have to go to city anymore if I craved for their pancake
Since we were all just wanted to nibble so we only ordered one pancake to share and our choice was the Blackforest Cherry
Pancakes were fluffy and served warm topped with vanilla and choc ice creams and castor sugar. Cherries were generously served beside the pancakes. Very satisfying high tea and tasted just like I used to eat
A week ago on a Thursday night, I caught up with a good friend who recently came back from her 2 months holiday. We decided to stop by Pancake Manor for some sweets and savoury.
Making an arrival around 8:30-9pm the place still had a few tables occupied with diners. Acknowledged by a staff and we were soon given a seat in one of their sofa booths. Since we already had some sort of idea what we were going to order, the menu didn't last long on our table. We decided on the Wedges with Sweet Chilli/Sour Cream Sauce and the Macadamia Madness Pancakes.
10-20mins later, our food arrives and the servings were quite generous.
Wedges - Presented with a nice golden colour, the potato wedges had a crispy exterior and the interior was soft. The only downside would be the dish being served warmish.
Pancakes - Served warm, the pancakes were fluffy and loaded with macadamias. Sprinkled with icing sugar and finished off with cream, vanilla ice cream, crushed macadamia nuts and maple syrup on the side. Everything was nice but I would have enjoyed it more if they reduced the nuts in the pancakes.
Overall, staff were friendly but could show more attention to customers.
Continuing its success from the CBD branch since 1979 having the Cathedral as a home has made it to be one of Brisbane's Icon. What has always been great was that they would be open 24 hours allowing everyone to be able to have food from day to night and don't have to worry about the closing hours when those tummy of ours grumbles at 1am in the morning.. since we know that they will be open. For the Garden City brand unfortunately, they did try to create that old world charm however having a contemporary feel and another bad thing was that they aren't open for 24 hours. So for those of you who want pancakes or burgers, or a milkshake in the middle of the night, then you would just need to drive over to the city for them.
After seeing a movie at garden city my friend and I decided to got to Pancake Manor for a bit to eat. I got he double choc pancake and they were huge! I gave them a fair go and could only get through about half of the meal! The pancakes were warm and doughy and not overly sweet (apart from the chocolate sauce on top)
So the service is always kind of bad, infact we were pretty much ignored for 5 minutes while waiting to be seated. It was plain rude. But, I go here not for the service, but the delightfully fluffy pancakes.
The Pancake Manors make the best pancakes, hands down. And my fave is the Blueberry Heaven. Yes, it is canned blueberries... and sometimes you get a generous serve, and sometimes NOT. Then it is just ice cream and fluffy pancakes. So good.
The savoury dishes are kinda crud - except the large and crispy serve of hot potato wedges - just order the blueberry pancakes and you will be happy!
Love pancakes! And with icecreams, banana and all other additions 😋😋👍🏻🤘🏻 good place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cool place to hangouttttt :D
I've never dined before at Pancake Manor but I can tell you the experience and food was great. Best tasting pancakes! I ordered the Hot n Troppo and was not disappointed, soooo filling :D
This place is heaven i could live there everyday and you can its 24 hours of non stop pancake madness.
Ill be back every sunday for a feed like no other.
Are these guys improving?. In short: Yes.
In long: Lil bit.
They may be reading previous reviews because when we went (Saturday morning) they seemed to have addressed several problems.
They seated us quickly, the place looked clean, the service was fine and our waffles came within five minutes of being ordered.
Just don't get a coffee here. It was more bitter than my ex-wife's new lesbian lover.
The food came pretty fast and it was good. The waiter that was serving us was hot asf, had a tribal tattoo on his right arm-pancake manor should double his wages, just saying.
Mmmm delicious!. Not entirely sure why people are saying this place is overpriced because I have never seen good quality pancakes cheaper than this in Brisbane, they are well worth the price because the portions are generous and the quality is excellent.
I have been coming here for pancakes with my family for years and have always had a pleasant experience so I don't understand the negative reviews. The staff are friendly and the service is quick, and the pancakes are of course amazing.
Remember people this is a simple pancake restaurant, if you want a fine dining experience try the Marriot.
Best service fast food. Genuine diner experience. Must try!! Desert for dinner always a plus!!
Went in for brunch with 3 others and my 1 yr old and enjoyed it, meals were just the right portions, service was good couldn't complain
If you want just great cheap pancakes this is the place to come! You don't go to a Japanese restaurant to order Chinese the same goes for pancake manor. You come here because the specialize in pancakes, if you want a good steak go somewhere that specializes in steak! Yes the service is a little slow but when the average meal is under $10 what do you expect.
Had the most glorious experience here last Saturday night! The crepes were cooked to perfection with a crisp around the edges, the strawberries were fresh and the staff were very polite and served our meals within 15 minutes!
I tilted towards like however it was just over the line. The food portions are pitiful however the flavours are good. The seafood crepe large size was tiny and full of a hake like fish only. They better watch their game in this area. There are far too many good places in this area price pointed the same.
Alright, but somewhat inconsistent. Service was nice and the waitress seemed knowledgeable about the menu, though for a while there it felt like we had been forgotten after being seated.
Meals came out in a reasonable amount of time, and my pancakes were cooked well. However, another person at my table believed their pancakes were undercooked, which was a little disappointing.
Also, I was freezing inside the restaurant - perhaps the aircon could be adjusted?
All up, I liked my meal, but there were little problems here and there that prevented it from being a completely enjoyable experience.
First of, the pancakes kick arse, the restaurant itself is comfortable (still will never beat the old church!) and the staff are clearly doing their best (the place appears under staffed a lot on busy nights)
Went on a Saturday night with a few friends. Ordered the Chocolate Jewels and a choc shake, amazing! Sure there was a wait (30 minutes) but last time I checked I wasn't visiting Maccas so theres no point in complaining.
Totally recommend!
Long wait but yummy food. We went in there very hungry so the 23mins we had to wait for our food seemed like forever, which really wasn't. The food was amazing, we had the Macadamia madness and Chocolate jewels! YUMMO! Our Latte and Soy Chocolate on the other hand came out cold :(
Great friendly staff :)
