Really delicious, calamari was fresh, bubble tea was cheap, vermicelli salad fantastic! Service impeccable!

Great service and large portions, always tasty!

This is my favourite Vietnamese place. The staff are so wonderful, the food is delicious and the portions are huge. I’ve been here honestly like 20 times & I have never had a bad experience. The waitress Jo is my favourite. If you like Pho and great service - go here!

Average quality Vietnamese food. I much prefer the meals at their original Market Square restaurant.

Delicious food, super portions, service fast, light and airy atmosphere.

Love the Spring Roll, the soup noodle was nice, but the wonton was stick together, and broken skin. Soup was tasty, sweet, I felt I tasted a bit MSG(my tongue felt thirsty).

Absolutely delicious Vietnamese cuisine! The menu is incredibly extensive so you are almost guaranteed to find something for every taste bud. I am a huge fan of the Vietnamese Starch Noodle soup and this was an absolute 10/10 for me. The service was quick and the portion sizes were all very generous. Price wise, the meals are more expensive than the standard Vietnamese restaurant but consistent with the Westfield restaurant rates in the area. Parking at Mt Gravatt Westfield is always a hit and miss but if you visit outside of peak dining hours, it's not that much of a challenge.

Chicken chow mein crispy egg noodle, $18.90 - stir fried chicken with seasonal vegetable in oyster garlic sauce. Not a typical dish from a Vietnamese eatery, but it spoke to me when I was browsing the menu, and no regrets cos it was a very decent sized portion with more chicken than I thought would come. Taste was great too. How did I only take one photo of the dish? Oh well...

We visited pH by Pho Hung for dinner on Thursday 13th of January. The restaurant was fairly quiet at the time with only three other tables of people. The restaurant was tidy and clean overall but could do with a fresh interior design.

For our meals we ordered a bowl of their combination pho and wanton soup. The food was served promptly after ordering. The pho was as expected and not overdone on with msg. The combination dish had a decent amount of beef and wanton and I liked the garnishes included.

The restaurant is a good option if you’re looking for pho in Garden City when 8street is closed or too busy. This place stays open till 9.30pm Thurs - Sat.

Food was alright, but one of the most overly priced Vietnamese food places
The people who serve food are absolutely rude and horrible especially one of the guys called “Wen” who was an absolute as****e when we asked for a plate for my small baby , he literally threw the plate on the table where the food was kept which even startled my baby

The customer service is horrible and guys it’s not worth the experience as you have much better food joints in garden city Westfield , my experience with my family was an absolute waste of money and will
Never go back

@ Manager/ Owner at Ph by Pho - if you keep people like Wen in your team and provide customer service like what I recieved today, then no point if your food is reasonably oh k

Wow! We have not been back here over three years so checked it out prior to the movie time.
Service was not that attentive. Even though they knew that we walked in and settled on one of the tables as directed, we had to approach the counter for the menu.
Ordered a mixed entree and a bowl of Bun Bo Hui to share between two of us. Bun Bo Hui came first and visual appraisal made me lost the confident because the soup looked not piping hot at all. Soup base was spicy enough but whole lot was lay down if compared to other Vietnamese restaurants even in Sunnybank area.
Mixed entree platter was only passable. The worse item should be the steamed Dim Sims. They were not tasteful at all.
A very disappointed lunch.
Rating 2.5/5

Last visit:July 15, 2016. Rating 3.5/5

It has been a year since our last visit. Phuong Tran and I walk in at noon and I notice the usually bustling restaurant has barely six patrons seated. We place our order and pay at the counter. The kitchen is well run and our meals are ready in under 10 minutes.

*Special Combination Beef Pho ($14.90) is served steaming hot but the Beef broth is quite bland, lacking beef flavour and spices. I see a large serving of sliced Beef Brisket and a tiny serve of beef balls, sliced raw beef, tripe and tendon. I last rated this meal a 4 but this Beef Pho is disappointing and rates a 3! I suggest the chef visit their original restaurant at Market Square and check out their Beef Pho.

*Special Combination Rice ($14.90) comes nicely presented with a Pork Chop, Shredded Pork Skin, Fried Egg and Salad. This meal meets my expectations and rates a 4!

Vietnamese Iced Coffee ($5) is made with milk powder rather than condensed milk and rates 3.5! Wait staff double as cashiers and are run off their feet.

The beef vermicelli I was served did not taste like it did before and most importantly the beef was off!!! And to find out there's no refund?? The most ridiculous customer service ever.

Their portion is very generous. My friend and I ordered a beef pho and a papaya salad with mixed entry ended up with plenty takeaway leftovers. Food tastes nice with speedy service.

One of our go-to lunch spots when shopping in Westfield Garden City.

We ordered:
- Combination rice vermicelli salad: fresh, vibrant, with generous portions of protein, rice noodles and salad.
- Pho (combination): good portion of beef and pork, albeit few tripe and beef balls.
- Pho (rare): surprisingly, this was one of last meals to come to the table, and a large portion of the supposed 'rare' beef slices were already well-cooked. Reasonable broth, although does not have the depth of "meaty" flavour.
Fair accompaniments of beansprouts and herbs.

Reasonable prices. Efficient service - order and pay at the counter. Casual ambience.

Overall, a reasonable eatery for those craving Vietnamese lunch whilst shopping.

Was the best Vietnamese food I have had in along time. Flavours were excellent and huge meals. I didn’t leave hungry. Only thing that would have made this better is if it was full table service with drinks served in glasses and not run like a food court but otherwise it was excellent.

We headed to Garden city and decided to skip our usual eating hub sunnybank. Being Wednesday night, wouldn't be so busy and yes it wasnt. So we had plenty to choose from, walking past store after store and decided on Vietnamese.

We had any table to choose from as it was quarter full. Given menus and offered a baby high chair and accepted.

I knew what I wanted and ordered, the special combination pho noodle soup. Wife ordered the pawpaw salad and a pho also.

Waiter staff, do what they do take orders and bring out your food. So not long after the salad arrived and it looked good. Drizzling the fish sauce and giving it a good mix, we were into it. Very well balanced and fresh, this could be a main if you wanted it to be.

The mistake made, wife ordered 2 full meals, and couldn't finish her pho. But when the pho arrived it was hot, and first thing you try is the broth. It was a little too salty for our looking but with addition of lemon, hoi sin and bean sprouts they go well together.

Plenty of meat and noodles in the bowl, would consider this a large serving. So trying to help finish off the wife's half, only managed to dint a little of it.

Serving sizes are good, and plenty of tables, was a good dinner

Dined here for lunch on Sunday and ordered the classic Pho rare beef and beef ball and combination pork chop rice. The combination pork chop rice was tasty and ingredients fresh. The Pho soup was served piping hot but unfortunate the soup was very average, tasted a little bit watered down and not as flavoursome as we are use too. The atmosphere of the resturant is nice, clean and service is quite friendly.

Been here a few times. Needless to say the service in this place is reclining rapidly. Came here 2 weeks in a row and the same waiter who can barely speak english has stuffed up our orders both times. Even the couple next to us said the same thing. If this jackass waiter can't do his job properly then he shouldn't be there. Its just embarrassing on their part. its a shame because i like this place. might have to go back to sunnybank.

Their crispy skin chicken with clear noodles is very delicious, I get it every time I’m here. However, this place does fill up quite quickly and it will get pretty cramped.

I’ve also noticed the manager asking diners to move to a different table to accompany larger groups even if they have already gotten their meals..hopefully this won’t happen to me anytime soon.

Horrible service! Food was ok. But the hoorible rude table service your boss provided ruined my day. As a customer never been treated this rude. Will never dining here.
@lydiaeatsbrisbane
Authentic Vietnamese food with generous portions of meat and vegetable. The flavours are bursting and very delicious. Prices are slightly more expensive than smaller restaurants but is located in a very convenient location in Garden City. Service is efficient and waiters are very friendly.

Being of Vietnamese heritage means my standard for Vietnamese food is higher, but I also try and support Vietnamese owned and run businesses and hope they do well.

I've been meaning to try this place out for a few years, their establishment into Garden City was a welcome addition to the franchises and fast food.

A decent selection of noodle soups, pho, and vermicelli noodle bowls. The prices are 'slightly' higher than your Inala equivalent but the serving size was huge. I couldn't finish my bowl of pho. That said a Grilled burger costs more, as does a Mad Mex burrito so your costs here are comparatively cheaper.

My mum and my brother enjoyed their meals, in fact my mum finished her soup before I did! The mixed entrees were pretty tasty. My beef pho was satisfying. It's hard to beat the one my Mum makes but the broth and noodles were tasty.

Service was friendly, and efficient. Another great thing about this place is that you can see into the kitchen, so if you want to know if it's legit you have full view. I don't see many Vietnamese (or Western) restaurants doing this so mad respect from me.

Sure you may get slightly better for marginally cheaper in Inala, however it's better than the Vietnamese options next door in Sunnybank and the convenience factor being in a mall is huge. Who doesn't want to stop off at Myer or catch a movie before some hearty Viet food!

8/10. Too legit to quit.

Garden City shopping nite, craving something soupy so we made our way to Ph by Pho Hung. The Vietnamese restaurant never fails to draw in a crowd as we waited 15min before a table was available. After reviewing their well presented menu, we ordered special combination beef pho ($13), grilled pork rice vermicelli salad ($12.9) and salt & pepper quail ($7.5) to share.

Combination beef pho arrived first with medium rare sliced beef, tripe, beef balls and brisket. The hot bowl of goodies presents a fragrant beefy scent with hints of Chinese spices. Soup taste is on the mild beefy and salty side. The rice noodles were cooked to perfection and the meat tender and flavorful. Compared to Pho Hung in Sunnybank, the soup here taste "watered down". 3.5/5

The vermicelli salad contains finely sliced veggies, peanuts, fresh mint, spring onion and grilled pork all sitting on top of round rice noodles. Add in some specialty fish sauce, you have a bowl of happiness that is flavorful and refreshing. The pre-marinated grilled pork was sweet & tender. The rice noodles cooked to perfection with just the right amount of soft vs chewiness. Combined with the refreshing salad and sweet & salty fish sauce, you have a bowl descent for success. One minor downside however was the watered down taste of the fish sauce. 4/5

The salt & pepper quail was the last dish to arrive. the lightly fried quail was garnished with fried onions, peanut, ginger and red pepper. The pre-marinated bird was very tender and juicy with a hint of gamy taste. The outer skin on the other hand was a tad under cooked and lacked the anticipated crispiness. 3.5/5

Overall service is ok for a busy Thursday nite. Several follow ups were made for cutlery and fish sauce. 3/5

Hint: They have a special fried rice served in half pineapple...looks damn awesome!

The service was exceptionally quick. The chicken pho had lots of flavour but the best part was the generous portions of tender juicy chicken. I will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes on offer.

The food is super fresh and delicious. It is really busy and quite hard to get a seat at lunchtime. So many items I've yet to try. I got a chicken pho sooo delicious and some satay skewers both mouth watering.

We tried a number of dishes at this conveniently located restaurant in Garden City, including the lalot beef, quail, bbq chicken wings, viet special broken rice, rare beef noodle soup and the bbq pork and wonton soup.
Overall the food was satisfying, but I felt the quantities were a little small for the price, particularly the pork chop that accompanied the broken rice dish.
On the whole, not a bad option if you happen to be shopping in Garden City, but there are better Vietnamese restaurants around Brisbane.

So it was a gloomy day in Brisbane. Rain was pouring down outside. It was humid and muggy and irritating. We needed something we knew it was good to cheer us up and the line out the front door at Kinn Thai was our last straw. We decided to go with whatever close by. Something hearty. Something warm.

50 metres away from the Thai restaurant, we grabbed the last empty table out the front at Ph by Pho Hung, a place we knew it was there but never cared enough to go in. It was a great decision.

Most Vietnamese food's fan would associate Pho with a humble bowl of rice noodles in gently spiced beef broth topped with thinly sliced beef. Yes, they have that. But I thought maybe why not try something different no other Vietnamese places have to offer. Ph has so many of those on their menu.

We had Lalot Beef for entree. Imagine beef sausage wrapped in Betel leaf instead of its usual skin, lightly seasoned with South-East Asian flavours. It was delicious. We then looked forward to the next course with anticipation. When they arrived, Soft-shell crab with starchy thick noodle soup looked stunning (like a Lamborghini in an average neighborhood) with its bright orangey yellow soup. Throw the word 'Humble' out the window cause this one had a whole battered crab in a bowl with prawn and fish cake. The soup tasted just as good as it looked. It was an unusual combination of flavours which I'm guessing it was the oil from rendering pork fat and seafood. It was so tasty. Then there was a duck noodle soup which was very light. You could taste subtle flavour of cinnamon and star anise.

They do charge 3% for paying with credit card. The meal literally flipped our mood upside down. From :-( to ;-). So make sure you visit them without prejudice. Ph is not just another Vietnamese.

Had dinner couple months ago at this nice set-up contemporary Vietnamese restaurant. The first glance on the menu gave me the feelings of Modern Vietnamese food, which serve local produces with Vietnamese cuisine. Ordered the Spicy Beef Soup (Bun Bo Hue), Special Crab with Starch Noodle Soup, Grilled Beef in Betal Leaf (Lalot Beef) and Special Seafood Spring Rolls. All dishes were above average with judgment based on the fusion food aspect. Dishes are worth for the price being charged. Definitely, I don't mind to revisit this friendly service eatery.

Located in the restaurant precinct of Garden City, Ph by Pho Hung is one of the several choices to arise from the ashes during the renovations some time back. Along with all the other options around, this has breathed new life and energy into this mall and seeing how bustling it is during the business hours is enough to indicate that. After going to see a movie at the adjacent cinema, it was around lunch time. Being close in proximity to a good amount of eateries, I decided to bide time and get something to eat there. In all honesty, this was sort of pre-meditated so there is that. Basically - me hungry, some food sounds good, more or less how I got here.

With the service and the whole look of the place, it is definitely on the chaotic side of things. There is no kidding that this was, and is, one of the more popular places to go and get a meal. People are lining up out the door, and often they have to stand around and wait for there to be enough free spaces at a table; to get the free space it is either through luck or patience. I was behind a couple, and there was no free space - or at least two free spaces adjacent to each other - but on the bench part of the eatery, a free spot was put in. I quickly dived into there, and that was that there. With all of its popularity, the staff are working like clockwork and make everything efficient and streamlined - clearing the tables to make new space, to have the ordering system done fast. Just go into a Chinatown or Market Square, and this will just be your average eatery. For some, this won't be their cup of tea, and to me, while I like it a bit relaxed by preference I often feel that a rough and more chaotic aesthetic often allows some character to be added. That is the case right here.

Even among the chaos, the service here is really good. They are attentive, and like clockwork will give you a menu and the garnishes depending on what your order from the menu was. It is really quick and efficient with the service, they are prompt in taking orders and a window view saw that a whole team was constantly active in the kitchen. If the previous paragraph did not make it clear, this is table service with payment later at the counter. At the bench, cutlery and condiments are already provided to grab when needed.

It has a mixture of traditional and modern Vietnamese food. As well as the titular soup, there is also a range of snacks which also include meat skewers, salads including ones based on vermicelli rice noodle, noodle soup (other than pho), rice paper wraps, rice-based dishes that are akin to stir fries and many main dishes based on hot meats plus the chef's recommendations. There is also an extensive drinks list, mostly different bubble tea flavours and a whole lot of other cold drinks from Vietnam which includes the three-colour jelly and coffee.

There is almost only one thing I can fathom ordering when going somewhere that offers pho, and that is a pho. I'm a guy who loves the lot where I can, and thus ordered their Special Combination Pho. This had rare beef bits, tripe, beef balls and beef brisket. In the clear broth, a complex range of flavours was used - cinnamon, star anise, cloves, liquorice, ginger, and coriander among many others. That is on a bed of flat rice noodles, topped with sliced onions, coriander and shallots. On the side, for garnishing the soup, they give each order a handful of bean sprouts, a couple of bits of fresh chili, some basil leaves and a piece of fresh lemon for squeezing.

With it raining outside at the time, this was the perfect sort of food to have. The serving size was really generous, and there were a lot of noodle in it. Each different cut of beef was really tender, and varied in intensity of its flavour - all of it was so lithe, that even the pure fat could be swallowed down without much fuss. Also, the whole flavour of the broth was unusual and complex, it had distinct hints and undertones of the cloves, cinnamon, ginger and everything. Putting in the chili added a bit of heat to it, and the bean sprouts were fresh and crunchy. In spite of its strong flavours, the soup still managed to stay light in texture. All of this makes it a reliable dish, that is economical with its size and portion, as well as being quite healthy and really flavoursome. Pho is well underway to convincing me how great it is, just a couple of more new places ought to do it.

In addition to the soup, I got a couple of extras on the side. One of them was a chicken wing skewer. Like any of the other skewers, this was served with a special salt seasoning and chili sauce on a garnish of lettuce. This piece of meat was really crispy, and the meat was super tender. One thing that I have always loved about chicken wings was ripping the smallest bits of parts on the bone, and this was a whole new level of that - it was hard not to get either bone or skewer stick. Also, that marinade it had on it - just delicious and good snack on its own-some.

The other one was a Vietnamese iced coffee. I am a simple man, if I see an iced coffee at a Vietnamese place, I order it. This was great as usual, and better than most. It was not bogged down by too much ice in the cup and it had that winning combination of the sweet condensed milk with the strong flavour of coffee. The coffee flavour was particularly noticeable this time around, and it was not too usurped by the milk. Also, it was ice cold without getting watered down. We have another solid entry here.

We are onto a winner here. In many ways, Ph by Pho Hung is a welcome addition to this area of the world. It gets many inspirations from the idea of street food, and supplanting well in a suburban shopping mall, with a possibility for a fresh meal done on the cheap and quickly. In addition to that, more often than not when a place like this simply aiming to have good food, has good food, then its job is more or less done. You can't really go further beyond that, and Ph by Pho Hung is essentially that (hence the 4.0).

Tried the Chilli Lemongrass Chicken, Pineapple Fried Rice, Mongolian Lamb and Banh Mi.
The food was good without anything really standing out. Good serve size and good value for money. Worth a try.

Food - 7
Value - 7.5
Decor - 6.5
Service - 7
Its ok. Not best in the presentation. Sugarcane prawn is so so. Only two prawns if u order salad, the rest of the content is like fish cake. Entree is a little bit too oily rich for me.
Cheryl
pho noodle soup is quite nice and clean, service is bad which has a lot of room to be improved-takes long time for the meal to come, a bit hard to get an eye contact with the waiter.
Simone Bennett
Really efficient quick service for absolutely fresh flavoursome vietnamese food. Well priced and well run. Could live on this stuff. Always busy with people who know their pho. Big serves. No trouble for take home leftovers. Really good.

I've always wanted to eat here but I've been intimidated by the amount of people that flow through each time I've walked by. On Sunday around lunch though there was two or three empty tables so we quickly grabbed one and started perusing the menu. There was so many things I was dying to try but I'd been wanting pho for so many weeks that I couldn't go past theirs.

The waiter came to get our order quickly and our meals were out pretty fast. We also ordered bubble tea, coffee and lychee, and I really enjoyed mine. This restaurant has all the wonderful classics of Vietnamese food and I can't wait to eat here again.
Eat Out Breakfast, Lunch And Dinner Everyday
I've eaten here a few times and haven't been disappointed with the Vietnamese food yet but with regards to the Chinese side of the menu I think they should really stick to making Vietnamese food. The ingredients are really fresh but the taste of most foods here lacks a bit of zing like you'd find at some good Vietnamese restaurants such as the Vietnamese restaurants you'd find in West end: Tip any of the sugar cane prawn dishes are good and the wonton bbq pork noodle soup with a bit of chilli oil is good
Foodheaven76
Really, really lovely Ph here without the mad parking of Sunnybank! We had a rare beef and chicken Ph and it was beautiful. The broth was lovely and light and with a hit of chilli, I was very happy! Very happy to recommend to others.

Ordinary food. This is my first time dining there and perhaps the last as well.
I saw the deal of "Like their Facebook page and receive 2 free spring rolls" on the table when checking the food menu. So I showed the waitress at the counter of my like on the FB page and then I was told the offer has ended. But I don't understand if the promotion is no long available, then why Ph by Pho Hung still leaves the sign on the table? Even I have pointed out this issue, the waitress didn't taken actions to remove the sign of promotions. Disappointed by this dishonest way of dealing customers.
The Invisible Food Critic
First time dining and possibly the last? The soup base of the special beef noodle lacked flavor and beef quality was below average. Satay beef (not Vietnamese) tasted very ordinary and slightly bland. On the positive note, I like their idea of their open kitchen, viewable from everyone outside. I sat outside watching them cook my dinner and watching them cook others while I ate. Some things I saw, I rather hope this kitchen was enclosed...
DianaW
Reasonable Vietnamese reataurant in Garden City well worth a visit. The food is fresh & the service is friendly which is good to see in a large shopping complex. Enjoyed the rice paper rolls. Like the fact they have an open kitchen so one can see what is being cooked

Without a doubt since the refurbishment of Garden City, one of the places I've always wanted to to was Ph by Pho Hung, but every time I go there, I either end up at Motto Motto, or 8 Street. But after my confidante had mentioned how good it was there, I decided that it was time to try it out myself.
Zhuss31
The best Pho in Brisbane. Service is always great and Pho never disappoints. The price is also very reasonable and serving size is always very generous. Best Pho around!
Sammie Luck
It's about time Garden City got a Vietnamese restaurant and Ph doesn't disappoint! The prices are bit higher than that from its brother restaurant in Sunnybank, but in return you do get friendly staff, an open kitchen, and of course, delicious food. Recommended pho everyone to try! :)

A nice place to have pho in garden city. its about $2 more expansive than outside. open kitchen make u feel cleaner than other viet redtaurant.

Best Pho around! Great service and food portions are perfect!

Dropped by one day to grab a quick drink. The fitout was nice and welcoming. I ordered the drink but only had card on me. Was charged a 11% ($0.50) surcharge because I didn't have cash. A sign listing their surcharge would have been appreciated.

Not Authentic.... Sadly, this place failed miserably for me.
I ordered vegetarian chow mein...and I have to say, I was very surprised at what I recieved.
Pros:
- large portion
- wider selection of vegetarian dishes

Cons
- flavour was bland
- the chow mein ruined the dish. It appeared & had the consistency of of fried stringy foam...it was the most bizarre "chow mein' I have encountered
- over priced. My vegetarian chow mein with tofu was $18

If you want authentic Vietnamese food, make the trip to Inala.
