Staff were friendly and professional. Food was delicious. All the ingredients are so fresh and the food comes out very fast. Lots of options and if you dislike/are allergic to anything it's easy to customise. Also easy to add extras to your meal. Experience is not quite the same as the one in the city as you order more like a normal restaurant, not at the kitchen like other stores. However, you can still watch your food being made if you want to. Lots of tables and seating options. Definitely recommend.
Went there last night for my 22nd birthday dinner and was not disappointed. My first time going along many other members of our 22 person party. The food was amazing. The entree of garlic pizza tasted amazing and I love the fact that with your dishes I can customize them and would recommend to anyone who gets it. Get the carbonara with chicken and garlic
10/10 will be coming back
The food was delicious and memorable. They provide options for the meals; you can choose your preferred pasta, if particularly hungry you can have bread on the side (but average eater won't need it as portions are generous), even whether you want garlic and chilli in the meal. They had a good wine selection. Although nice for a date, I think its a great place to bring the kids too.
Nice and friendly staff. Didn't try many food here but the pizza fold-overs and the pasta was quite nice. Might go in the future to try out more items on their menu 😊
Portions are a little on the small side. But the pasta is fresh and tastes good. Not the best pasta in Brisbane but still enjoyable.
Vapiano at Westfield Garden City gives off a cozy feeling, with the lighting, furniture, and decoration. I was seated on the outside, at the upper level.
Ordered various different kinds of pasta and pizzas, including the Gambari de Spinaci, Carbonara, Garlic Pizza, and Meat Lovers. The cream sauce of the pasta was delicious, might need a little bit more seasoning though. The pizzas were tasty and generously filled with toppings.
Might come back here in the future to further enjoy the place’s ambience.
Great happy staffs that served us well, size of the portion is good. It's just that the Pizza not as tasty as I expected. It was the vegetarian eggplant pizza as I remember, went there 2 weeks ago.
The size of the pasta was big that I couldn't really finish it and had to take both of the pizza and pasta home.
It's worth your money... love to come back.
A fantastic place to eat with family and/or friends. I take my family here regularly and have been doing so since they opened. The menu is excellent, the prices are fair, and the quality is outstanding. Service is always attentive and prompt, and the taste is consistently very good. The only thing I would suggest avoiding is the cocktails—as they are generally very disappointing. I would suggest their training in this respect needs to kick up a notch or don't charge what they currently do for them (because they are not at the level that matches these prices).
I also love the ambience of the restaurant, with enough variations and nooks and crannies that you can choose the kind of dining experience you want (large, small, open, social, quieter, shared, personal). The lighting and noise control are both handled very well also.
In short: Staff are excellent. Ambience is excellent. Food is consistently of a very high standard (and delicious!). Cocktails are meh.
Exactly what you’re expecting it to be - fast, tasty and reasonably priced. Has the same standard as other vapianos and worth a quick lunch stop in
It seems the food differs every time I come here, sometimes it is average, certainly not bad though. However this review is off my most recent trip here. I had the bolognese and pomodoro. Both of which where fantastic. The bolognese had a charred deeply meaty flavour, unlike the strong tomato flavour it had on my trip before. It was excellent. My pomodoro pasta had the perfect balance of sweet and saltiness, which is what your most likely looking for when you have a pure tomato pasta sauce.
I loved the service and food and staff were friendly but I wish they had large size drinks. We have been there a few times and we tried pastas and risotto; they were amazing.
Went for lunch. We both had pasta dishes which were some of the best we have ever had. Service was excellent and friendly. Great decor and atmosphere. Good place to chill for an hour or so to recover from shopping.
It's the perfect spot for a group gathering, it's spacious, it offers an interactive dining experience, you never have to feel awkward about the bill situation, and best of all, the food is on point.
I was recently invited to check out the new winter menu at Vapiano, Westfield Garden City and there was no way that I was going to say no. Located at the Town Square Dining Precinct of the shopping centre, Vapiano takes up quite a large space. The decor is welcoming and minimalistic; I love the olive trees and the fact that every table has a live potted herb. The ground floor is where all the action happens.
We were invited to dine at Vapiano's to try some of their winter specials. We started with the pumpkin soup which came with croutons, parmesan and cream. I found the texture a little grainy and a touch runny. The cheese melting through the soup added good flavour - it was an ok soup, not my favourite but not bad either.
For main I had a pasta rosso dish that I chose to have with tagliatelle and prawns. It had sundried tomato pesto, tomatoes, ricotta, chilli and pinenuts. The pasta was delicious and tasted homemade which is exactly what you want at an Italian restaurant. I think parmesan on top would have been better than ricotta to add a bit more seasoning and flavour - I couldn't detect any chilli either. My husband chose the meatlovers con carne pizza. The base was lovely and crisp and the bbq sauce was really great and flavoursome. He really enjoyed it and he knows what he likes in a pizza!
For dessert, we tried the chocolate fondue - another of the winter specials. Yum! A lovely thick chocolate sauce is served with marshmallows, really tasty chocolate walnut brownie pieces and fresh strawberries. It's certainly sweet and your definitely need the strawberries to cut through some of the chocolate! I'd say to be a real winter warmer it needs to be served warm but it's good value for two or more people. It also needs to be served with a spoon so you can finish the chocolate sauce (if you've not overdosed on chocolate by this stage!) You certainly don't NEED dessert as the main dishes are very generous but when you're offered the chance to try chocolate fondue, you don't say no!
We were kindly looked after by David who went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. He was quick, extremely attentive and very enthusiastic.
I have based my rating on the fact that Vapiano's is a chain restaurant. For a chain restaurant, Vapiano's is a good choice. You can tailor your meal to suit your tastes and dietary requirements without any problems. It's also very well priced for big servings and fresh ingredients. They have a decent drinks menu including some good local craft beers which kept my beer snob husband very happy!
It's not perfect but for a chain restaurant, it's definitely a good option to get authentic Italian food with freshly made pasta and tasty pizza. Thank you to the whole team for having us!
Very nice experience, it was a busy night but the line to order moved very quickly. We had a complicated order but Lorissa was very pleasant and handled it with ease 🙂. The pumpkin soup was rich and creamy, and the gamberi spinachi pasta was well seasoned and cooked to the proper firmness. The only minus was a bit of waiting for 2 of our mains. Chocolate fondue for desert topped of a pleasant evening 😀
Vapiano is located in the lovely outdoor eating area at Westfield Garden City. The restaurant is large, with seating both upstairs and downstairs and a nice balcony. I love the lighting and atmosphere at Vapiano – it is very romantic and homely. Our service was efficient and friendly. My favourite aspect of this Vapiano restaurant is that it doesn’t follow the traditional model. You order at the counter, and you don’t need to line up and wait for your food to be cooked in front of you. Call me a princess but that model really bothered me; I found it inconsistent (as you don’t know which line to pick – it depends on how many meals the person in front of you orders, and/or how efficient the chef was), and bothersome when trying to find a table (you really couldn’t find a table until after you had your tray of food, which was a hassle when it was busy). So I loved that we were able to order at the counter, and have our meals delivered to us at this restaurant.
Thanks for the invitation from the marketing team of Vapiano to taste the new menu of this chain store at Garden City on last Wednesday night. We arrived at 6:00pm and table was reserved near the bar of upstairs. After we perused the menu, I then went downstairs to place our orders as the followings: The Pumpkin Soup (new menu), Funghi Risotto with additional king prawns, Ham & Mushroom pizza, the Nutella Fondue (new menu), drinks of mocktail (strawberry & ginger punch) and a cocktail (Alone in the blue garden). Drinks came first to the table and both of them won our appreciation as the starter drinks, refreshing and taste good. Next to come was the pumpkin soup. Taste was good but not hot enough and lacked of viscosity (3.5/5). Risotto & pizza came together next. Risotto rice was perfectly done and the additional king prawns (five of them) was large and valuable (4/5). Pizza base was soft with crispy crust, mushrooms were thinly sliced and they looked fresh and the odour was good (I nearly thought the I was having truffles) (4.5/5). Finally, the fondue came as our dessert. I love the idea and kept glazing the strawberries with the chocolate, which was the fun (4.5/5). Overall, the dining experience of new menu was decent and I appreciate the management's decision of such inspired seasonal idea.
Once again, thanks for the invitation and wish all the best to the business.

Had lunch at this restaurant last Sunday. Venue is cosy with two levels of dining area. Need to order at the counter then the wait-staff brings the meal to the table. I think the system is not bad but it is so tired to see wait-staff walking up and down to deliver the dishes. It is really a hard job! Ordered a small antipasti to share between two of us, Rissotto Gamberi and the Pesto Basilico. Love to see the option of adding more ingredients and degree of spiciness. Antipasti is just average. Risotto was good with quality king prawns and lots of salami (added item). Rice was perfectly down. However, the pasta was totally let down. Pesto was too thick and the pasta was not expected well-cooked otherwise the texture would not feel weird. In addition, the mock-tail of Virgin Moscow Mule was nothing exciting but slightly pricey.
Trying out the winter menu here tonight.
Highlights would be the pumpkin soups and the Nutella fondue. How good is that !!! (Is so perfect for a movie date afterwards :)
Ps reserve a table for late nights shopping so u won’t get disappointed
Phuong Tran and I are invited to lunch to try Vapiano’s Winter menu. Arriving at 12.30pm we are met by Manager Victor. We are ushered to our table in the large dining area upstairs and Victor informs us of some popular dishes on the menu.
We are surprised with the weekday lunchtime crowd. Wait staff are knowledgeable and helpful with menu items. And the Drink Menu would make a thirsty camel smile! Our drinks are served within 10 minutes by a cheerful waitress. The Virgin Moscow Mule ($7) and Pineapple Basil & Mint Cooler ($15.50) are refreshing and whets our appetites. After a short wait our meal is served.
*Pumpkin Soup served hot with Croutons and Parmesan cheese shavings is creamy and tasty.
Rating: 4.0/5.0
*Caesar Salad ($16) is prepared fresh with Parmesan cheese shavings and bacon bits. A nice fresh entree to enjoy before our main course.
Rating: 4.5/5.0
*Pollo E Spinaci ($20) is Campanelle pasta with a creamy Basil pesto, chicken pieces, pine nuts, Parmesan cheese and fresh Spinach leaves. The ruffled cone pasta is perfect for this sauce. The fresh ingredients makes this dish almost perfect. Had more sauce been provided, this dish would have scored a perfect 5.
Rating: 4.5/5.0
*Truffle Oil Pizza ($21) is large with a topping of smoked ham, mushrooms, Mozzarella, Parmesan, rocket and drizzled with Truffle oil. Served hot from the oven it is nicely presented and is delicious!
Rating: 4.5/5.0
*The Nutella Fondue ($11) comes with a Nutella sauce, cut strawberries, marshmallows and chocolate brownie bites. This is a wonderful dessert to end our meal.
Rating: 5.0/5.0
After the sweet Fondue we share a Mock-Ito ($7) which looks and tastes great! Our lunch is very enjoyable and service by wait staff is friendly and fast, increasing the overall rating to 4.5/5.0! It is admirable to see our gracious host work as hard as his crew on the floor, clearing tables, setting up tables and serving food. Leading by example, Victor gains my respect at this well run restaurant. Fresh tasty food at reasonable prices is a key to success. We will return soon with our Tribe. Thank you Vapiano, Garden City.
Have lunches at the CBD location regularly and love it! First time trying the one in Garden City and its just as good! Great for a pre-movie feed and whilst it is what I would call ‘cheap and cheerful’, it doesn’t feel like you’re in a ‘cheap’ venue. When I speak to friends about Vapiano, it seems to be a polarising venue with people either loving it or hating it... I love it!

Had a friend's birthday party here. The atmosphere was good and there was plenty of room for the ten of us. The staff gave us a quick run down of what to do then left us be for the night. The food came in usual time for a busy Sat night at a restaurant and was quite good. Only complaint is the portion size is a tad small but that's nothing to complain about. The reason it's 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the price to portion ratio.
Came here for lunch last week with my partner and ordered the crema di funghi and ravioli. We found the ordering system a bit confusing but the girl who was serving us was nice and patient even though I could tell she didn’t want to be there.
The food came within a reasonable amount of time and was very nice however after eating about half of my crema di funghi I felt a bit sick and had to give it to my partner to finish. He wasn’t complaining about feeling sick so maybe I was just having an off day. 🤔
Good food. Quick service during the day. Slower at night. Limited and very uncomfortable seating.
Would return for a quick eat not a night out.
Been here twice once with family. Kids love the pizzas and the pastas. Adult portions were decent size and flavors were consistent. The salad portion size for mains is a bit too big, very fresh however there wasnt enough dressings. Apart from that theres not much to fsult their vegetarian menu. The upstairs dining was perfectly fine but biggest minus for me was the obviousness of having to pickup ur drinks and take them upstairs urself. Itsnot really fine dining when u have to carry cutleries n drinks to ur table.
I came here today and ordered linguine with a tomato-based sauce. The servers were very warm and welcoming which is always a bonus. My meal came quickly as well and was very flavoursome. The ambience of the restaurant is great, and I would highly recommend sitting in the upstairs area. I don't know why I always seem to walk past Vapiano but I definitely will be coming back now!
Lovely neat joint with super space and lovely ambiance ... lover the ravioli pasta , pesto pasta brusheta and magarita pizza and let me trellis u all vegan and vegetarian ... Jain Plp can also try this one ... quantity was average to price but best is u get many options for vegetarians ... can go👍
i come here at least once every week or two with work colleagues after a stressful day and we are never dissapointed. service is always amazing, food is always cooked to perfection no matter what we order. given we usually go during the week so it isn't too busy, but we did go once on a friday night but we still found the service and food to be amazing. never had to wait longer than 15 minutes for our food once ordered. we will continue to come back as this is now our go to dinner.
So, we queued for nearly half an hour (I'm told that is pretty standard) although we were treated to complementary garlic pizza in line. After ordering we waited for about twenty minutes for the food to arrive. The pizza was exceptional- it was hot, fresh and light, with clear, simple flavours. The base fresh and perfectly crisp, although not insubstantial. It was worth the wait, although I wonder with the card system ( each patron gets a keycard, everything is billed to it, pay at the end) if there is a way to self order- maybe an app-, scan/ wipe your card and come back when food is ready. Great food, good service, but with the customer volume the efficiency isn't amazing.
Always have a great experience here from the friendly staff, more efficient ordering system (than the city) and tasty pasta (almost) every time.
Disclaimer: I have only tried the pasta.
This is a great place for lunch. The food is fresh and we ordered the 2 lunch pizza ... 1 margharita and 1 salami. Huge in size. Only $10 each. Great Value and very tasty.
I like their food but find it a little too expensive. Got these for free (Rio Olympics free pasta or pizza) and paid a little extra for chicken. Was really enjoyable. I'd have preferred though, that the chicken breast in the pasta was shredded or sliced instead of diced. Love the eating experience and ambience here.
The food here was amazing... As always! I had the Gamberi et Spinachi!! Pasta was cooked perfectly! Juicy prawns cooked perfectly! And Nutella cheesecake to finish with... Amazing! I've seen some reviews commenting that the pasta is undercooked.... That is how it's meant to be, al dente!! I'll defo be back again and again! 😊😊
Really like the idea of this place! I love their arabiatta (unsure of spelling) with fettucine and chicken. It tastes amazing! Although the wait can be frustrating at times, the food makes up for all the hunger pains. Recommended :)
I am a regular here. Love the way how they cook your pastas freshly. But food quality is sometimes good and sometimes bad depends on which chef you get to cook for you each time.
Quite enjoyed the meal at Vapiano today. They're trialling semi-table service (order at the kitchen, they bring the meal to your table) - seems to work, waiter had stumbled on their words trying to remember which meals were on the tray. Also don't get to watch your food get cooked/interaction with your chef. I'm indifferent however.
Had the Gambani E Spinachi with linguine pasta. The taste was a little bland, added my own salt and pepper to add a little flavour. Comes with complimentary bread which is a nice addition with your pasta. Was surprisingly filling, but still feels overpriced - if only it was a little more affordable.

Service was polite and welcoming. Food was quite good and well priced for what you get. Downfall would have to be ordering at the counter and having to wait and take your own food back to the table. This would be an issue when busy. Went with some friends on a Thursday night and was waiting in line for around 15 minutes before being served and a further 10 minutes until Pasta dishes were ready.
With Garden City's refurbishment over the last several years, Town Square has been the location of numerous restaurant openings. One of which is Vapiano, an Italian restaurant that I regularly frequent in Albert Lane. Their opening in Garden City meant that I do not have to drive (and hunt for parking) to the CBD to get an Italian fix.
Despite the other negative reviews I really like this place. I've gone back a few times and found the food to be consistently good. I love the Gamberi pasta and Nutella cheesecake! They also serve food quite late which is great for us because we are late eaters. The outside courtyard is a cute space to sit at too and the music and candles at night creates good ambience.
Never really been disappointed with the food here. Portion sizes are decent and it's just what youd expect from pasta and pizza. Dont really like the way things are done here though. seems really confusing and at times not sure where to be ordering what foods. Even with the signs telling you where to order each food, there aren't any staff there to take your order sometimes so it gets really confusing. Itd be good too if like for ordering pizza, we can just be given a buzzer for the pasta as well. The first time around its entertaining to watch the chefs cook your pasta in front of you, but after a few visits it gets tiring.
As always Vapiano delivers great food , but as always it is also a bit over priced. The quality of the food generally depends on how good you are picking a dish as some of them are a bit ... odd. But, it is still a great joint.

Very beautiful place at Garden City, awesome relaxing decor with fine details and very helpful & friendly staff. Chefs are excellent too while watching him cook our pasta. Ingredients are fresh and love the flexibility for a little customization. Final product are definitely one of the best pastas I've tasted for a very long time. I understand skills may vary among different chefs, I just hope most of them is as consistent as this one. One down fall was the chicken (in both dishes) being over cooked, dry and tough to eat. Prices are up there for pasta, but I consider it worth the money. Overall experience was great and won't hesitate to return again, thumbs up!
Good atmosphere although not having any heaters working outside in winter isn't the smartest move. we had pasta and the meal was really good. My pasta was about half the size of my partner's pasta for the same price but it was tasty nonetheless. The chefs are really cool but the service at the bar was very slow. Would definitely head here again
The chairs are very uncomfortable. Not a good place if you want to eat at the same time as friends. The food is good and value for money.
Really enjoy Vapiano at Garden City. They have delicious food and a really great atmosphere (gorgeous outside in the summer). It can get quite busy on Thursday nights so be sure to get there early or there may be a wait in line.
Been a while since I've last visited the City branch, and tried out the Garden City branch for the first time tonight thanks to a 2-for-1 offer for Fanatico members. Had one pasta (pollo e spinaci) and one pizza dish (gamberi e rucola), and thought both were nice but found the pasta more interesting. Both were priced at $20.90 which I find a touch pricey for a place where there's no table service and a lot of DIY. You do get to see the pasta dishes cooked while you wait (and I've been past when the queues have gone out the door). The restaurant has a nice ambience and looks to be a great venue for small and large groups. I'll probably be back at some stage.
Tasty with a nice ambience.. Eaten at both CBD and Garden City restaurants. Haven't had a bad meal yet. I usually order pizza, and it always comes out super fresh and tasty. Service is friendly and prompt. Seems more suited for lunch, and can get pretty crowded. But overall, a decent Italian restaurant. Will definitely eat there again.
Easy eats. My friend and I arrived early in the evening and had no issues waiting. When you arrive they give you a card each so you can easily split the bill at the end. We both went for the pasta and didn't have to wait behind anyone, just walked straight up to the chef [who was very friendly] and started ordering. He chatted with us while he cooked asking things like how much garlic do you like so the dish is exactly to your taste. After he was done we tapped our cards on the bench in front of him [which loads the price onto your card] and we found a spot to sit. This was our first time here so my friend went to the bar and bought our drinks, and while she did a waitress came to take our drinks order which would have been easier had we known, but it didn't matter.
There were little pots of herbs everywhere which you are allowed to pick and add to your meal if you like, I loved this idea! I had the gnocchi with Pollo E Spinachi sauce which was devine, but the gnocchi was a little firm so next time I will try a different type of pasta with it. My friend ordered the Aglio El Olio which she also enjoyed.
After our meal the waitress returned and took our drinks and dessert order, all we had to do was give her our cards and she loaded these for us, which was super easy. The white chocolate cheesecake was to die for, it comes in a little jar with a thin layer of salted caramel on top sprinkled with honeycomb pieces. The filling was surprisingly light and creamy and full of little pieces of white chocolate which seemed to burst in your mouth. Easily the best cheesecake I've ever had - and it would be worth going to Vapiano just to get the cheesecake again.
Overall we would definitely return, the staff were very friendly and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. The payment system, while a little confusing at first, makes it so much easier than having to deal with grumpy hostesses who refuse to split your bill at other establishments. All we had to do was go to the counter when we were done, tap our card and pay... no remembering dishes or table numbers required.
Yum. Very friendly service delicious pasta
Went for lunch with my friends and the staff was very nice and helpful. I’ve been before and never regret the food. We sat on the top level, was really clean and lovely. We all thought our food was great with decent portions! Definitely will go back again. Tried a mocktail for the first time and loved it too!
My partner and I love coming here! We're both pasta fans and the variety of options makes it fun to try something different each time we visit. If you like mushrooms, the crema di funghi is delicious and definitely my favourite. They also offer a large variety of drinks and yummy cocktails. On my last visit I had the watermelon spritz which was lovely and refreshing. The service staff are always wonderful and the food arrives quickly. No wonder we keep coming back!
Cozy dining experience and, having not had pasta in a while, was very pleased with both the flavour and portions offered.
The specials on during the evening we visited for drinks were reasonably priced - would visit again and try the other flavours of pasta that are on the menu!
Had an incredible night out. Amazing food, great energy and excellent service. Hard to find such great service now and these guys killed it. Flynn was an absolute pleasure and took great care of us. 10/10 just found our now regular place.
Although we waited 45 min for our food, but the service was excellent and no complaint about good. Staff we’re accommodating and also apologetic for long wait.
