Well definitely not your average coffee shop you won't find your "skinny caramel latte" here. With a pleasant friendly atmosphere and amazing staff I found Humblebee coffee to be a great place to just sit and enjoy a truly unique experience. Humblebee is all about the coffee... Good coffee!!!
Great coffee.. great staff... great shop... if your after a special coffee get yourself there and check this place out..
Awesome coffee, best I’ve had yet in Perth and awesome friendly folk.. made me feel so welcome
Love the coffee and service is spot on, creating a great atmosphere to sit back and enjoy your coffee!
Best coffee in Perth, hands down.
You can take home your beans and get a cracking coffee at home too! What's not to love?
My favourite in Perth!
Their energy are focus on producing and making the best coffee.
Just started going here and the coffee is consistently incredible. New local and favourite.
Awesome customer service
Brilliant Macchiatos
Cascara served here (coffee cherry tea) - delicious!
Don't expect soy or skinny milk - always the real thing here (the dome down the road does that stuff)
Espresso (of course)
Fabulous single origin roasted beans, packaged to take away
Great music
Have your coffee via Aeropress or filtered too
I have been going out of my way to come here for over 18 months and will continue
Just might suit you too
Best coffee/beans in perth. Barristas are awesome too and know their stuff!
It's the bees knees. Perfect local coffee haunt, great coffee and staff.
HB is not just your everyday coffee experience. After your first visit, it will be part of your everyday routine..!! Always Friendly and chilled...The passion for unique & consistent flavours is evident in every cup..!!
Never a bad coffee
Staff are lovely and it's super chilled inside
Your coffee, service and decor..are all beyond words of praise. Exquisite, Immaculate, Phenomenal.. HumbleBee is in another dimension of Coffee Nirvana :) <3
I walked in for a basic flat white...I walked out with a coffee high and nothing but good vibes from the barista and the BEST COFFEE I've had outside of Melbourne.
Humblebee Coffee is cosy and they know their beans, have a look how they carefully roast them on the premises and savour the transcending aromas that fill the cafe'
The Baristas are so friendly you'll want to buy them a coffee yourself.
Please try the soft and delectable mini-donuts - they're incredibly morish :)
Every single coffee house should be like this one.
10 / 10 <3 s and hugs
Great coffee and Cafe... Will be a regular
Best coffee I've found in the local area. Visiting from melbourne. Solid crema on a long black. No fuss. No different milks, no marshmallows or sprinkles, just great coffee.
Hands down best coffee in mount hawthorn! Everything is just done so well, very friendly staff! Highly recommended! I can see why this has become a destination for coffee lovers
Love this place! Consistent delicious coffee their batch brews are the best and the staff are super friendly and the Scandinavian vibe is awesome
Great little place. Never had a bad cup of coffee from this place. My only complaint is that the cups aren't larger. and there often isn't anywhere to sit because all the seats are full. Oh well can't win them all. A good consistently made cup of coffee is not all that easy to find in Perth and that's what you get here no matter when you go. Cakes are pretty good too.
Nothing humble about this flavorful coffee. This is a hyperlocal cafe serving people who enjoy coffee a certain way. Small seating area but definitely worth a visit.
Love Humble Bee ! They specialise in coffee
And the coffee is delicious ! Definitely the place to go if you are a coffee lover! It's all about the coffee rather than the food - my only gripe is the roasting section is large and the seating section very small so it's difficult to get a table 😊
Spectacular coffee and excellent beans. Their ices Aeropress is to die for and for a sweeter option the Affogato is amazingly creamy and strong. My perfect local and also the best place to pop by in the morning for beans or a wake-up call on the way to work.
I'd just like to say for people seeing the comments about pretentiousness - Humblebee are a Roastery first and foremost that provide excellent coffee brewed on site as well. They also don't offer a great deal of food outside of a few small pastries and have short opening hours that don't allow for afternoon drinking of coffee. This isn't because they dislike your business but rather because the roasting is the important part of it. I believe it's about focusing on the core business rather than being "pretentious" about it. My two cents.
I'm not easily confused. However, the combination of an unusual menu board and my general awkwardness did leave me a little baffled at Humblebee coffee. It had imperial cooking measurements on it rather than the usual names of coffees and I didn't want to stare for too long. So I ordered a small flat white and hoped that would work.
As you walk in, it's likely you'll notice the coffee roasting equipment and a fuzbal table to your right behind some glass windows and minimalist recycled timber boards leading to the focal point of this place, the coffee machine.
The coffee from here is perfect for my tastes. The coffee was strong but not burnt, velvety and well rounded. The service was very calm but focused. The kind of service I'd want just before going on to do something stressful to inspire me to maintain my composure, or at least appear to.
After all of my confusion, apparently their menu is actually very simple. Essentially only two choices; white with only full fat milk or black. One size fits all for take out. That is why they're so calm, they've whittled down the options, and according to something I read in a newspaper once some time ago somewhere in their amateur psychology section, if you have fewer choices, this can help you de-stress (apparently).
maybe, possibly, definitely one of the best coffees in Perth in my estimation. This cafe dictates how to drink your coffee (black or full cream), and how much to drink (fixed sized cups). No problems with that- i'm more than happy to let the experts decide!
I take a bit of a detour some mornings to swing by Humblebee Coffee. Best long black I've ever had..........................................
Excellent coffee. This is a true coffee place. Only people with an over inflated sense of self importance order coffee with Soy milk anyway - ignore them!
More than a year later and I am so thrilled that this cafe has stuck to their "principles" and don't offer any dairy; a cafe for the purists.
Real coffee does not need milk - be it soy, almond, skinny (does not make the population go any skinnier, but rather has gone the other way!), etc.
Coming from Asia, it's amusing to hear people in Perth rave on about "soy" milk, when I have been drinking pure, unadulterated and sugar free traditionally made soy milk for over 40 years! Here's a tip, soy milk and coffee don't mix and if you think it's lovely, you don't know better! Neither does almond milk. What on earth is that???
So, Humblebee is coffee/cafe distilled to perfection! I hope they open a branch near my place in Applecross!
Excellent coffee, excellent concept.
Small and specialized, these guys are here to make and serve their own product without compromise.
For some reason there seems to be the expectation that cafes, bars, restaurants etc. are obligated to cater to absolutely everyone at all times. The reality is, not all venues strive to cover every demographic. These are specialty businesses in a wide ranging industry, no different to any other.
As numerous people have noted, there are indeed plenty of places willing to accommodate soy/decaf/non-dairy requirements or requests. Personally I don't see the harm in dropping some chocolate on a cappuccino, as that's the most widely accepted public perception of what a cappuccino is. But if that's not how Humblebee serves them, that's their decision, and so be it. You'll live.
There are plenty of people out there whose primary attraction to coffee is the coffee itself. These people will find and support places like this, and hopefully many more like them to come.
Probably one of the nicest coffees I have had in a long time. Reading all the posts I am a bit shocked at how whiny people can be about the lack of decaf, soy etc. I like that they remain true to their product. Will def be back
I LOVE the coffee at humblebee but am still pretty miffed that they don't provide skinny or decaf options...surely that's my choice? The cup sizes are rather small but I still go back..and the mini doughnuts are amazing.
Always great coffee! Friendly service. They are upfront about how they serve their coffee, refreshing that they don't get swayed by the winges of soy, skinny, blah, blah, blah drinkers 😃
Love this place and what it is trying to do to the Perth coffee scene by giving some of the power back to the owner that's trying to provide a quality service to us coffee lovers :) Now I know that I'm not a lactose intolerant person and they don't offer anything apart from black coffee for those people... Unfortunately that's too bad and I applaud them for not sacrificing the taste of their coffee for the minority of people who don't drink full cream or just black style coffee.
Basics Beware. Humblebee caters to people who enjoy coffee, as is. If you want Basic Betty soy lattes or fake chocolate powder sprinkled on your Simple Sally cappuccino then please look elsewhere, I suggest Dome or Gloria Jeans where your "tastes" will most certainly be catered to. As for allergies, unless you're allergic to quality coffee then you'll have no trouble having your needs met here, all you need to do is step outside your bubble and try something new (black coffee doesn't bite). Friendly and knowledgeable staff who, by the looks of the "doesn't like it" reviews, put up with a lot of **** to deliver some of Perth's best coffee. Keep it up, guys!
Yum yum YUM! Lovely service, too! For those reviewers who have special dietary requirements, there are PLENTY of other options in the vicinity, please go find them rather than bag a service that makes no promises to cater for you specifically, and moreover are entitled to provide whatever they want. Go team Humblebee!
The BEST coffee by far around! Whoever said the staff were rude obviously don't know a rude person because they are not! I go here everyday as it's just around the corner from work, I can always 100% guarantee a proper not rushed coffee! Great little space a lovely buzz about the place!
One of the best in Perth. I come here almost every morning - they serve great coffee and are true to it. For those who call them pretentious for not serving soy, almond milk or what not, it's pretentious for you to think that the consumer has the right to dictate what the business sells. If you want soy, please go to Dome.
This place has great customer service and coffee. I am lactose intolerant the same as other people who have posted, drink black coffee especially when it is good black coffee like this. Soy is so bad for you anyway!!
Pretentious?. Sorry but how is not offering decaf/soy/skinny "pretentious" ? This is a coffee joint and they serve just that: coffee.
Great coffee though. and I've personally found the staff to be very friendly.
Not pretentious or pompous. Simple menu that showcases the coffees on offer. I love it and that's all that matters to me.
Simply coffee but damn Its gooood!!!love the sizes you can actually taste the coffee not too much milk.
LIKE. Oh my goodness, I love this place. So close to home and really great coffee.. Fresh croissants are amazing too!
Great coffee. Will be back soon as the coffee was the best cup I have drunk in a long time.
Great coffee. I've had a few takeaways from humblebee, each time coffee has been to the same amazing standard. Staff are always super nice and the price is on point. Highly recommended!
Outstanding coffee. Service with a smile. Elegant, creative fitout. Fantastic concept. Hope the new Humblebee Coffee does well!!
Great coffee. Fabulous coffee. Friendly service. Reasonably priced (for Perth). What more could you ask for???
Great for Perth. Great to see a new cafe doing their own roasting, exactly what we need more of in Perth. The filter coffees are amazing, and it looks like they hold classes and cuppings which are thing I have to get in to!
I like what they're doing :). Micro-roastery with cosy coffee bar.
Small batch coffee roasted on site, wonderfully flavoured house blend, no-nonsense attitude towards what they do.
It's an absolute delight to find a craft roaster doing what they love and getting it right. I will return often.
Finally some legit coffee in Mount Hawthorn! Super nice staff and awesome little space. Just what this neighbourhood needed!
If you're looking for a food menu, there's non. This is simply just great coffee! Love it!
Outstanding! Fantastic coffee and a standout new addition to Mt Hawthorn.
Excellent coffee & service. A really great addition to the neighbourhood. Highly recommended.
A Tale Of Two Bougies
+4.5
Ethiopian Wote pour over – bright floral notes with berries and candied citrus peel. Delicious, and definitely in our top 3 filter coffees in Perth!
This post is only short and sweet, but as someone who isn’t normally overly wowed on the coffee front I thought I’d share my recent experience. I mean I like coffee, but I’m just not full bottle on the intricacies of the barista process, so I had to give mention to what was a very nice brew that I enjoyed recently. Humblebee Coffee is an independently owned coffee company hidden away, just off the main drag in Mount Hawthorn. The Humblebee team is passionate about coffee. They roast small batches of single origin coffee and essentially brew them fresh. There’s that lovely heady aroma of coffee as you walk inside their cosy and welcoming establishment. We micro-roast and taste each batch to assure you have the best possible coffee experience. You’ll notice on their brief menu that they have made the bold decision that if you want a coffee you’ll be getting it black or white – skim, soy or decaf are not options. In the age where substitutions are more the norm than the exception they hav
