Not a bad spot delivering decent mixed Asian dishes. Some of the dishes are quite western in terms of interpretation but overall the team get the job done. Entrees aren’t really worth it but the mains are consistently good.
Tiny little restaurant in the centre of Mt Lawley, everything is cooked fresh with an open kitchen. It’s best to get there before 6 as it gets very busy. They also do take away. Can highly recommend the soft shell crab, they offer “chose your own dish” with a range of rice, noodles, meats and sauces to chose from, satay chicken with noodles is a favourite. Also great for kids, they sell a bowl of egg noodles with oyster sauce for $2.50! BYO alcohol and they don’t charge corkage. Average meal price is $13-$16 per person, we always bring home leftovers.
This place is one of those fantastic local eateries which delivers delicious food time and time again. The food is fresh, the flavours balanced and the service friendly.
Please please please bring back the Ramen Noodle Soup with Teriyaki Chicken.... the menu is not complete without it. I've always loved this place but the meals have been saltier lately. Still, I give it a 4. Great value.
Trusty and reliable. This has been a go to take away spot for me for many years now and it never disappoints. Diners can always guarantee honest favours and generous portions. I've sampled majority of the menu and have never been unhappy with an order. Dine in or take away are both good options. Never ever let me down, old faithful.

I have been a number of times and can't recall a bad meal. Both the rice and noodle dishes are tasty and the vegetables always crispy and fresh.
But increasingly the food is taking longer and longer to come out, even if the store is not busy. Even before Uber Eats started dominating, that was an issue.
So, I'd still go for their Kuey Teow but not if in a rush.
Ordered through UrberEats. Fantastic place that rung me up after ordering to let me know my choice wasn't gluten free and accommodated me with something different. Awesome! Food was absolutely delicious just wish they were open on Sunday. Thank you!

Flavour was more like a seafood noodles.
Sata beef noodles were quite nice. Not really peanutty but had some nice spices add, the best dish I ordered.
Pork noodles were good also soy sauce style flavour, beef was average

Solid little byo Asian place that's spans all food genres. Ordered the pad Thai, was a little bland, and honestly probably not the best thing to get here. The laksa was alright, but I think the real winners are the fried noodles. Would come again.
Been here a few times, and love it ! Very small place, with few tables, however service is great and so is the food. Very reasonable prices. The pad thai is amazing. Can't wait to try a curry next time.
We love this place. Great for takeaway or dining in. Favs include the pad thai, honey soy beef, birds nest...just to name a few. Love all the dishes. They also make great gluten free meals for my friend with no hassle. She now comes here all the time too!

Entertainment Book discount convinced me to try out Goreng. We got a couple of mains and some fried noodles for $16 .. and it was too much food! You can't beat that.
The dishes we ordered were piping hot and really tasty, albeit not particularly authentic. They were two beef stir-fry style dishes, loads of quality beef (no chewy bits) and fresh crunchy veg. I really enjoyed it, will definitely be back in the future.

The crab claws, combination noodles with chicken, squid and prawns; honey soy beef with rice were all good. The crab claws initially came out with the centre a little cold. We sent them back and they were apologetic, making us a fresh batch. Second time around was much better.
Having the entertainment book voucher for a free main dish definitely made it good value.
Quick and friendly service is another plus.

Goreng2 presents diners with a range of Malaysian inspired dishes that are made fresh to order for you to enjoy in the casual relaxed surrounds or as takeaway. I was really hungry and I ordered the char kway teow which was served in a jiffy. I loved the char kway teow with lots of juicy prawns and tender squid rings. The noodles had a lovely flavour and the whole dish was satisfying. Yum!
This place is great value and always is busy everytime I go. The peppered fillet beef is delicious and the satay noodles is really tasty aswell.
This place is small but was busy, constantly filling up with people ordering take away or dining in on a weekday! I was suprised. For basic asian food it was busy.
I had ordered the ramen soup and that was average. Nothing special as I found it very bland. It would be something i wont order or suggest. Also tried the Mee Goreng and that was full of flavor! So I guess it has its pros and cons.

Came here using my entertainment voucher. I ordered take away and the quantities were decent. The Satay chicken was a little dry and would have been nice to get some more fresh veggies with rather than two small pieces of cucumber and onion. The pad Thai and fried rice were delicious. This place is BYO so wouldn't mind coming back for dine-in next time.

Fresh healthy cheap and fast. I always get number 20, wok fried chicken tofu and vegetables in black bean sauce, and it's amazing. Cooked perfectly, tasty and I feel good after the meal. And so cheap!

One of my favourite things about moving back to Mt Lawley after being away for a few years is Goreng. Cheap and tasty food with a large range of options on the menu. I forgot to phone ahead for my takeaway order and had to wait. Remember to ring through your order!

Was coming to gig at the Astor n decided to come here for a bite to eat. Good range of items on menu - we had mee goreng, a Orkney loin with sweet n sour sauce and a chicken n rice dish with scezuan sauce. All were fresh n excellent with the mee goreng being the stand out dish for us. At $41 for 3 dishes n drink its a bargain too !!

Tried this place after reading reviews, as really wanted something tasty quick and good value in mt lawley. We had a great time. We managed to get a table straight away which was lucky and were impressed by how clean and fresh the place is. The menu has a good amount of choices. The food itself was as good as I've had anywhere at food court prices. We both left stuffed full of quality food including a shared starter for under $35. Will be going back for sure

The food is so fresh and tasty, with such large portions. where else can you find food like this at such a reasonable price? No wonder Goreng is so popular. Sometimes there can be a bit of a wait on food, however, in my opinion, it is worth the wait.
Sometimes when I have been there, I have noticed customers get quite upset when they have to wait for their food. As a fellow hospitality worker, I say - wouldn't you prefer fresh food then food that has been sitting there for a long time?
Plus, Goreng is situated in mt lawley. A real hip happening suburb with lots to do and see. Go for a walk! Enjoy mt lawley! No need to get upset.

Best satay in Perth! Having recently moved out of the area, we've been searching for a Goreng equivalent closer to home. It simply doesn't exist! Excellent food and fantastic service at really good prices - it doesn't get any better than this.
A good cheap meal. Good for when you're in the mood for noodles.. Kwai teow is nice and stir fried ramen with soft shell crab is my fave. Fresh tasting and quick!

I've been coming to Goreng for at least 8 years now. Amazing food, so reasonably priced, excellent service. Well done guys, you know how to do it!!
Prices are almost Bali-like. We only recently discovered this little gem. It's great to eat in (you cannot book) but its also great for a cheap take-away. Last Friday night 5 of us ordered Honey Soy Beef, Red curry with veges, Prawns in something(!), Pork belly with a great sweet sauce and mayonnaise and a passable Nasi Goreng. Five big platefuls with enough left over for 3 of us to have seconds - all for under $60!
We have previously had entrees also and I highly recommend the yakitori sticks.
Yes, there may be a wait on a Saturday night but sit down with a glass of cheap wine and relax.

Pad thai was OK (still think the S&T thai gourmet in Northbridge is better) but the other 2 are spot on and have me craving for more.

Goreng2 = Great Food. What a great place for a casual dinner on a cold Thursday night. Although at 7.00pm, I’d suggest you wouldn't have wanted to be too much later to get one of the few tables.
Goreng2 has a great fitout and I like that you can see through to the kitchen. I couldn't imagine a cleaner restaurant in Perth.

It was worth the wait, I had to wait 30mins as they were really busy, but it was worth it the beef stir fry was delicious,fresh and cheap too. Only negative would be the number on the website says its disconnected when I tried calling.
Yesssssssss. Goreng is super trusty and reliable when you need a quick, cheap week night feed. It's always fresh and tasty. Saves lives when all you've got in the fridge is mayonaise and coke.
Brilliant. My family and i generally have goreng2 once a week. i love it, and look forward to it every week. i've been stuck on the satay chicken with rice and extra sauce for a long time now, but that's only because it's so good. i've tried other dishes too and they're all quite nice. goreng2 is perfect for a simple meal during the week and isn't expensive as other local casual dining experiences such as grill'd or nando's.

We have been buying the food here for I think probably as long as this great place has been in business, only stopping over the few years that we had to move further away & it was too far for us to travel to regularly.. but am overdue in telling these guys how much we enjoy their food.
And I just wanted to say that we've never had a bad meal here, (although we do only order vegetarian & chicken dishes, so cannot speak for any other dishes), but I think it's great because so many places can't even get it right the once, let alone always be so consistently yummy over many years of making food. To me, this just shows how much this restaurant & staff cares about the food it serves up to their very loyal & loving customers.
Note: Ok I really don't mean to sound ungrateful or greedy here, but my only wish is that they had a few more stores around Perth because they're such a busy little store & yes somtimes the call to order has gone unanswered for a little while...
& I for one would definitely order more often when am over in another suburb, come dinner time, ie near my workplace in Shenton Park. My work collegues would be all over this place. But 100% am so happy that at least this one store exists for yummy meals for us. A big thanks so much Goreng 2 for your delicious dinners for me & my family over many years! 😊
Excellent char kuay teow! It had that great wok flavour. Pad Thai was okay, but a little too salty and tasted different to a normal pad thai.

Good and clean. Pretty good value. You don't just get a dish with two lonely prawns but actually a generous number. What really impressed me however was they deveined each prawn. Something you wouldn't expect from a high volume budget eatery. Staff were nice and gave good indications as to when food would arrive.
Love this place. Value is crazy good, Laksa is wife's fave while i go for a beef and ginger stirfry with noodles. Top tip? Get a $2 side order of noodles - it comes out like a solid BRICK, and get it done with oyster sauce and ginger. It's literally an awesome meal unto itself - will fill out whatever else you get super well. I also love the fact that they will customise even the side noodles without complaint - great service.
Perfect Thai! I order take out from here A LOT and it never disappoints. Fresh, affordable, flavoursome, and the servings are BIG. The venue itself is cosy and inviting, so dining in is good too. Definitely try their satay tofu - YUM! 😋
