Review Secondeli Cafe - Mount Lawley

Adrian M
A great cafe with indoor and al fresco seating and a separate window perfect for takeaway food and coffee. The coffee is very good and the cakes are also delicious with the sticky date pudding moist and light, and the brownie densely chocolatey. The scones, too, are nice baked treats but severely let down by the cheap jam and small amount of canned whipping cream that spreads really thin and almost runny on the scone. Service is good and it's a comfy place to grab a coffee and food.

My second time here and I am more impressed than with the first. Had lovely toasted cheese my way and the coffee was good. Interesting decore. Gluten free and vegan food available.

Have shopped across the road at 2nd Ave IGA for years and somehow never been here! Why!!! From the very impressive sweet treats in the cabinet to the substantial menu offerings, this place is a winner. Add to that the excellent service, coffee and portion size and we have a real contender on the vast 'Beafort Strip'. Parking can be a challenge, but take it easy and you'll be glad you went. 5 stars. Shakshuka + Hash Browns.

Popped into this place, Tuesday for lunch and to do a bit of work. I must say the staff, particularly the young woman behind the counter had customer service down to an art. Friendly, engaging and warm. The food was great and I really enjoyed it. Coffee, absolutely awesome. I imagine you guys get super busy at the weekend lol I was lucky to go at a quieter time. A complete, worthy cafe experience.

So glad we stopped by to experience this great Cafe...warm atmosphere, friendly staff, efficient service and came here for breakfast, food was delicious even had to take home cake from the cabinet for afternoon tea. Coffee orders from side street eliminate the high traffic flow into the premises ... Perfect idea. Open 7days

Love this place! I have never had a bad coffee from here always consistently good. Have eaten here for breakfast and lunch , food was yum and the pricing is competitive for the area. Would recommend stopping by.

Had crushed avocado for brekkie. It's a nice little Cafe. Good and handy location. Nice staff. We loved the food. Cafe design is so nice and relaxing with a view over Street. Order was quick. No big wait. Just the tables were a bit small. Recommended.

Waited over an hour at 11am for avo toast and a panini. When scraping the avo to one side of the toast it wasn’t even enough to cover half of one small piece of toast. It had 4 squashy cherry tomatoes. It was disgusting. Never going back.

Meh. The company offered by the painfully privileged stay at home mums doesn’t quite make up for the average coffees. Head across the road or below IGA.

First time visiting this place and the food was very bland and poorly cooked. Overall, it was a super disappointing experience. 1/5.

I love the early opening times so I can grab a caffeine fix before work. The barista makes amazing coffee. <br/><br/>The price may seem steep but honestly, you get what you pay for. Generous portions, generous sides. Bloody three thick slices of halloumi with smashed avo will stuff me up until dinner from brekkie. <br/><br/>Thanks for the amazing meal and amazing coffee

We have attempted to try this cafe previously but were put off by lack of seating. However we wanted to give it another try but failed terribly. The hash browns were soggy and fell apart when we tried to dabbed the oil off them with our napkin. The smashed avo on toast, well I think they forgot to toast the bread and with the very thin scraping of avocation and large amounts of oil the bread also was very soggy<br/>Overall very disappointed

Nice location! Plenty of light and outdoor seats. The coffee is very good. Food wise their chicken chermoula salad is my favorite. Wifi usually works well.

The service is absolutely horrific! There was a lot of things that went wrong and the waitress had an awful attitude and never for once did she say sorry! Never ever coming back!

I had a beautiful breakfast here recently. So much food for a good price and had leftovers. Hard time find that in Perth. Nice tasting and good service. Would come again!

A nice spot for a reasonably priced breaky! I had the crushed avo with poached eggs. It’s your standard smashed avocado on toast...but it’s tasty, and well priced. <br/><br/>The staff are friendly. It’s dog friendly. And they use MILK LAB (which is like the hottest thing right now as far as coffee is concerned) <br/><br/>I had an almond flat white, which was delightful. <br/><br/>Only criticism I have is the lack of seating. It would be ideal if this restaurant could have an enclosed out door seating area, with winter they’re limited to minimal seating indoors. They could allocate seating to customers in order to accommodate the ongoing traffic flow they sustain. Today there was one single gentlemen occupying a table that could seat four...cmon guys...common sense! <br/><br/>Would I go back? Probs!

Would have loved to have given a better rating but the service just wasn't great. Didn't get acknowledged by any one for a while and then when we did it was very clear the waitress didn't want to be working, didn't get a hello or anything. Just had water put in front of us and had to then go find our own menus. The food was also very average, pancakes were dry and crumbling and lacking flavour. Coffee was good though! Overall, wouldn't return or recommend it to anyone in future.

Fantastic coffee. Terrible food. I had the worst brunch dish as the fritters were dry AF. The sauce did not save it. I was expecting it the fritters to be crispy.

Great location, great service, food was average. We ordered salmon stack it was dry an had no wow factor, coffee was oki, don't think I would come back again.

Sunday morning 9.30... as a hospitality operator you should have your best staff on, you should be on point... this place wasn’t. Its a mighty shame, its in a great location, and has a good look about it. the food is passable to good, but service not great, some serious staff training needed, serious.

Had the crushed avocado on charcoal bread with spinach and tomatoes and it was amazing! Also had a juice which was delicious. The meal was reasonably priced.

Absolutely adorable, and lovely atmosphere! Great service and friendly staff. And of course the food was beautiful, lots of options. Would definitely visit again! <br/>

I went here for the first time about a year ago and the breakfast was enjoyable. I have breakfast with a friend regularly on a weekday morning before work and thought I would give Secondeli another visit.. We both left very disappointed. We were given water on the table, no menus, had to flag the waitress down to ask for some, waited to order and didn't realise we had to order at the counter (when giving the menus it would've been good to have some instructions where to order as every place is different), coffee wasn't good, milk was lukewarm, breakfast was average. Won't be returning which is disappointing...

Beautiful Sunday with Beautiful Breakfast. Warm hospitality. This is the place we need in Perth.<br/>Flat white in a mug was great.<br/>Bacon & Egg Toastie with BBQ Sauce was not bad not good simply the best.<br/>Shakshuka was divine. <br/>Recommended!

Food + coffee are good and service is friendly. As one of the only cafes on Beaufort offering wifi, it's a nice place to go and work...when and if the wifi actually works...

We went here for Sunday morning take away coffee. <br/>We had two coffees. <br/>They were really bad. <br/>Real bad <br/>So bad we threw them both in the bin and left

Utterly terrible! Still seething about the service here. Ordered take away coffee waited almost twenty mins despite others arriving after us having their orders fulfilled, queried it and was told they didn't do the orders in order. Waited another five mins still no coffee so asked for money back. Server got the manager who was sat eating with friends to authorise a refund. No apology. No coffee. Nothing. Despite five members of staff standing around doing nothing! Useless group <br/>

Breakfast here on a Friday morning was really nice. They were super accommodating to my friends allergies. Service was quick and friendly. <br/>We tried to avo smash and pancakes. Both were really nice and great size portions. The pancakes are very sweet so be prepared for the sugar rush!!<br/>Got a takeaway Portuguese tart - delicious!!

Last minute find for Father's Day. After Zomatoing - places to eat close by I stumbled upon Secondeli. Located Northeast on Beaufort St, this little spot is unassuming and can be hard to spot if you don't keep your eyes peeled. It offers a varied selection combining breakfast and lunch dishes, severed all day so there's something to satisfy almost anyone's tastebuds. Drinks were served at lightening speed and so was the food. We ordered crushed avo on charcoal toast and the meatballs with fried egg. Mine (meatballs and fried egg) was okay but had a strange flavor I couldn't put my finger on... My partners meal was delish and filled the spot. The service was excellent and really sincere. We'd definitely hit this place up again for seconds.

What a delightful little place. Been twice now and the food and coffee have been spot on. Eggs were tasty, delicious bread and cute quirky interior. I really wanted to try some of the beautiful looking sweet things in the cake cabinet but I was so full. My next visit I'll have coffee and cake I think. Welcome to the strip Secondeli!
Hikax
Food was very tasty and the service staff were helpful. Not really suited to larger groups or younger children as the majority of tables are very small and close together which made it hard for us but will be back without the kids.

Fantastic place for breakfast. Been here a couple of times and have not had a bad meal. Do yourself a favour and eat here. (Or don't ... I don't want this place to get too busy!). The avocado with charcoal bread and meatballs with eggs are delicious!

Great cafe for a delicious coffee and scrumptious cake ! Loved the smashed avo on charcoal bread - definitely one of my favourites! ( I did add an egg) <br/>The staff are friendly and prices are reasonable 😊

I wish I lived closer cause Secondeli is delicious! A great spot with nice decor, friendly staff and reasonable prices. I like the outdoor tables, makes it easy to bring a pram which is a plus for me! <br/>I had the shakshuka dish with poached egg, toast, dukkah and sausage - breakfast for lunch and this was perfect! A delicious combo and something a bit different on the breakfast scene. My friend had the chicken quinoa salad which looked so good and is her go to dish so it must be good! <br/><br/>There are so many good things on the menu that I'd love to come back and try more. The little coffee window is also great, nice and easy to pick up a coffee on your way past. I'll be back for sure!

Two for two at secondeli cafe! The first time we tried the coconut pancakes with salted caramel, the beef burger and the meatballs. We loved it so much we came back.<br/><br/>This time round we got the smashed avo, the crumbed chicken with caramelised onion and roasted beetroot and the New York style baked cheesecake.<br/><br/>The smashed avo was probably the best rendition I've had. Served on charcoal bread, each bite was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of lemon, salty feta and crunch/spice from the dukkah. They totally took it next level.<br/><br/>They neglected to mention the crumbed chicken was actually a salad and initially the boy was disappointed but then tasted it and declared that any man would be happy with this meal haha. Loved the sweetness from the caramelised onion and beetroot with the tangy dressing. <br/><br/>The cheesecake was off the chaaaainnnn. Smooth, creamy with a crunchy buttery base mmmm <br/><br/>Highly recommend Secondeli Cafe!

Best coffee in the area by far! Perfectly poached eggs, Yummy, well priced and prompt, even a coffee window. I've also tried the carrot cake and that was awesome! Lovely staff too :)

Had breaky here on Sunday morning... great little corner cafe... food was ok... but my bacon and egg sarnie was cool, dry, with no originality. However the friends I was there with know the owners from the sister Bayswater cafe, and said the spanakopita was to die for... I never pass a recommendation down, and the food photos Ive seen look divine, so I will return!<br/>The Sense 5 coffee was delicious ... AND I love that they have a hole in the wall 'To-Go' window which opens at 6am - we watched a regular flow of peeps ordering their brews during our breaky which was great. I like the vibe of this little place and that its less than 5 minutes walk from home! If I wish hard enough they may turn into a wine bar for the evenings...?

Delightful! Went for a coffee and some cakes and it's safe to say I'll be back for more. Our waitress was cheerful and attentive, the lemon raspberry coconut cake was DELISH! Some said the coffee there could be quite bitter but this is what I was missing when I was living overseas. Might add a few more lines about the brunch dishes after we go back this weekend.

Great food, great service, nice positive vibe.

This cafe, being new and all, needs to pick up a few common errors - greet when enter, cutlery when foods ordered and a smile on the odd occasion.<br/><br/>Coffee wasn't that great, a little bit bitter. The scrambled eggs were tasty, but I have had better. <br/><br/>This place is quiet new so I may come back within a few months once it picks up a little bit.

Breakfast catch up with girlfriend at Secondeli Cafe the other day. I was impressed with their Mocha, really nice. Also tried the Shakshuka with Merquez Sausages, Poached Egg, Labneh, Dukkah & Toast. Combination of all ingredients at first bite was a bit unusual since it's not something you eat often. But after a while, I get used to it and enjoyed the dish. Shame that they didn't let me change the toast to charcoal bread they use on Crushed Avocado dish. There were no interesting cakes when I visited, so I passed. I shall go back to try their Coconut Pancakes & nice beverages.

Hubby, Casper and I visited Secondeli Café yesterday for its grand opening day's promotion of "FREE coffee" with the coffee code of "Pinball". I was curious as to why they picked "pinball" as the coffee code and then (as I walked in) I saw the Kiss Pinball machine in the front window corner - I would have check it out if it isn't for some guys hogging it first!!!

The 'Berber Breakfast' and Red Passion Cold-pressed juice are everything. The 'Smashed Avo' is the original and the best, love the charcoal toast - haven't found that anywhere before around 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

Food amazing, service not so<br/>Went for breakfast with a friend. The decor was nice and it was great to be able to sit outside on the side street front. The food we ate was delicious, so much so that I was still talking about it a few hours later. I had the smashed avo dish with a poached egg and loved the combinations of the flavours. I would definitely go back for the food. Just a shame the service wasn't as great. Staff friendly but they managed to make mistakes with both drinks ordered. Ordered a soy Capp and a standard Capp came out. Ordered a banana smoothie and they completely forgot about it. Hopefully that's not the norm and we just happened to be the table where both drinks had issues!

It’s hard to keep up with the number of new cafes opening in Perth these days! Surely it’s going to slow down soon..? Recently joining the party is Secondeli on the corner of Second Avenue and Beaufort Street in Mount Lawley. Feedback online has been good, so I decided to pay them a visit for breakfast today.
