Review Yuzu Kaiten Sushi - Mount Lawley

Amazing value for money. And even thought they have a sushi train they allow you to order a la carte so each dish is fresh. The customer service was amazing. The line is long and you have to put Ur name down on the list and wait as they don't do reservations. But the lady was kind enough to call us when our turn came up as we're at the bar nearby and she said they dont normally do thst but she did anyway. The food is very affordable with everything on the sushi train for $3.50 and its not just fille items. The hot dishes are a separate price but also very much cheaper than other sushi trains while mantaining a high quality. .

Beautiful little Japanese restaurant! We used to come here years ago before the refurbishment and, even after refurbishing, it's kept its character and quality. The staff are friendly, the food is delivered fresh and fast and tastes incredible.

The food was delicious, value for money and friendly service.

Very small venue and food looks unloved. Took the family there on Wednesday in the school holidays as we love sushi, but not impressed. The food had a grey ting to it, sushi not cut right, making it look like it's been pulled apart. The service was great but the food was a major let down. Try brighting the place up with a few different lights and maybe a few varieties of sushi on the train to make it look more inviting. Price wasn't too bad.

YUZU sushi and meals are legit awesome! Affordable and good quality Japanese sushi train 🍣

The worst sushi train restaurant I have ever been to. Minimal stuff on the train, have to order every other dish but bog standard, tuna cucumber etc.. Took my wife there and we left hungry still. The sushi on the train seemed old and dry, probably not made fresh. They are more interested in takeaway orders, 30mins to get spring rolls that were over cooked and no filling. Save your time and money.

Sat at a table where we had acces to sushi train + touch screen to order anything on the menu. Food was fresh and made to order. Everything was delicious 😋

Sushi was beautiful! It wasnt small at all. They made sushi quit big and thick. When I ordered from tablet I can see they made it freshly. Highly recommend but if you have a baby or big group, it will might not a good place.
Jojifrey
Delicious sushi options and nice atmosphere. Allows BYO and they even provide a pair of wine glasses too! Overall great service.

The one sushi place that actually serve fresher tuna! It probably helps that the fish market is literally within the same building. Sushi actually taste nice, this is something I'd rarely say as we're very picky when it comes to sushi or sashimi. Priced reasonably well tkk, my only complain is the cuts were inconsistent? Some were thinner than the other. Will definitely come back here to try all other menu and the sushi train when lockdown's over.

Went for dinner tonight. Was greeted rudely at door by one of the waitresses and took 10 mins to sit us down when restaurant was barely even filled. <br/>Then was rudely lectured by the same waitress for not watching out for our table number clipped onto the sushi we ordered on the sushi train. <br/>Average food.

I like popping in here for a quick lunch because of the variety of options on the train and the service is very friendly so that’s why I rate YUZU KAITEN sushi train 5 Stars

Service is great but the food is so expensive for the portion sizes that you get we spent $76 on takeaway and it was ridiculously tiny portions and even the onions won’t cook properly it was so disappointing with the regards to the salmon Nigari overpriced big time salmon soooooo thin and portion so small. In all honesty food is okay but it’s not worth the cost the $3.50 sushi train is extremely misleading as the portions are so small that you end up spending so much more. It is not always good to go cheap as you get stung in the end. The sad thing he’s been here many times over the years and it’s really sad to see that they have really tightened up with their presentation and portion size and quality.

I had this Tongotsu Ramen lunch time at the Innaloo Suburb. It tastes so nice, well above my imagination. I had before tried the well known Tongotsu King in the city ( Here at Yuzu , its cheaper and actually they are about on the same par ) also tried Frementle , Victoria Park and Perth 's many places and in Japan. I like the texture of its noodle, it's rich as well, exact viscosity, but not sooo sticky or starchy soup. It's additional $2 extra noodle is cheap. The waitresses are efficient. Deserves a 4.5.

I have an egg allergy, which I made very clear to staff and they informed me of what food I could consume.<br/><br/>Ordered a few dishes with my partner, all the sushi came filled with mayo.. egg mayo..<br/><br/>Asked the staff about this, they said "cross contamination happens" even though it was because of the egg mayonnaise. Talked to the chef who kind of apologised and offered to make it without egg but it'll cost extra.<br/><br/>

Very cheap and fantastic quality for the price. First place I've ever waited out the front for it to open. There's a very good reason it's always so busy.
Yeriel H
Friendly waitress. Food was valuable. Some of the sushi already has soy sauce. On the trail mostly are rolls. However you can order from screen. So you can get fresh one. I quite like this place!<br/>* difficulty to go with young baby.<br/>* not good for big group~ (max 4ppl)<br/>* salmon sushi was bit small.
Huilingteoh89
Love the bento box 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 great consistency food quality and friendly staff.... definitely worth every single dollar spent here 👍🏻

$3 sushi for ALL sushi!<br/>I go here with my partner almost weekly since it's such good value for money and the sushi is good quality.<br/>We usually limit ourselves to 10 plates and are full for only $30 between 2 people!
Hangryyyyy
Cheap, fast, delicious! All the necessities of a great japanese place :) never disappoints! Their ramen is super flavorful and only $12 for a big bowl! Everything on the train is $3. Mega win! I'm just praying that they stay open forever.

we ducked in here for a quick lunch and were impressed with the service and quality of food. the sushi train was great with fun little tablets for made to order pieces at low prices and great for kids. We also ordered the Ramen, for a sushi store I wasn't expecting much I was pleasantly surprised that they went to so much effort, it was clear they had prepared the soup and noodles earlier and froze them but they were prepared with such care and tasted great. don't walk by this place it's good and comfortable.
I.live.to.eat
Always friendly, cheap (all sushi plates are $3!) and yummy! Expect to wait a bit during peak times though. This is our go-to place for a sushi fix.

Great tonkotsu ramen here. Deep flavours and the pork slices they give you are not just the fatty parts, it’s the meat, which I really liked. The noodles were perfectly cooked too.<br/><br/>Also they have the good wasabi here. I’ve never been a fan of wasabi until I tasted the one here, it was really good! <br/><br/>On top of that, there’s great service, friendly staff who always asks if your water needs refilling and always smiles when they talk to you.

We loved this place for the variety and value. The sushi and small sides (takoyaki, edamame etc) all come in at $3. You can assuage the hunger quickly by choosing from the train or order something freshly prepared from the screens, which is definitely the tastier option. Tataki sushi, eel nigiri and spam with cheese sushi were particular favourites. Photos are from two, very indulgent trips. So reasonable and byo!
Jessie Khoo
Food taste average, but you get what you paid for. It’s only $3 per plate!! Ended up two of us ordered 12 plates cause the portion of food is pretty small. Btw, their customer services are excellent! Staffs are very friendly. If you plan to visit during weekend lunch(peak hour), be mindful that you might need to queue for seats.
Eatingismyhobby
So pleased I have found this place. There are so many average sushi train restaurants in Perth- and this one is just down the road from me! Bonus point!<br/><br/>Service here is so friendly, and quick, but best of all, 80% of the menu is $3 per plate. That includes my fave sushi; Aburi. Plus, if your fave dish isn't on the train you can order it using the electronic menu and the chef will make it super quickly for you. <br/><br/>I feel like I'll be spending a lot of time at this place in future!
Paul Moulton
Love this place, drive all the way from the eastern suburbs to eat here. Great service and the kids love it too. If you want to get a booth and not wait, better to call ahead.
Cheryl
Really impressed! Great value food, generous portions and beautiful flavors. Only minus were some fruit flies hovering around, but will definitely be coming back!
Lady X
$3 per plate sushi train although I ordered off the menu to get it made fresh. Service was good and attentive, sushi was made quickly. To be honest the food was average, the aburi salmon was dry and not fatty. The best of all I tried was the soft shell crab roll
RevU (get It Like... Review)
Best value for money sushi joint in Perth (Eel Unagi for $3 IS unheard of) and this place delivers on taste with every sushi dish on the menu.<br/>Recommendations: katsu chicken role, spider roll, eel unagi
Papillon
This place is a hidden gem. Plenty of parking at the park (first hour free), you can reserve a table and order fresh off an monitor rather than picking it off the train. I hardly ever pick the sushi off the train as I don't know how long it's been going around and around in circle. The freshly made sushi doesn't take too long, maybe max 15 min? The place does BYO as well so make sure to grab beer or wine from home.
Dumpling Love
$3 per dish is cheap, considerably more so than other places, but the standard does lack slightly. Sashimi was generally fresh, especially the scallop, but the rice was slightly hard and bland. Slicing technique was sub-par, but it depends how much importance you place on that.
Jonnie Bee
$3 sushi you can't go wrong really! Great service and interactive tablets for ordering. The karage chicken was juicy and delicious as was the pork gyoza. Definitely a bargain and we'll be back
Wonderingfoodgypsy
This place is my absolute FAVE place to get sushi!!! I mean i literally could come here everyday, it's super affordable and modern with the touch ordering system and I mean it's 3 bucks for good quality sushi!!!! Yum!
Drew Powers
i'm not a big sushi fan but really enjoyed this. sushi at $3 a plate with a big selection including nigiri, maki, some aburi options. you can take it off the train or order from the tablet with pictures and descriptions so it's really easy like some places in Japan. my gf noted the sushi size was maybe slightly smaller than at some other places, but we liked that cos with the low price you can try more things. will be back!
LA
Great selection of sushi, the price is even better! $3 pp to chow down. You even have the option to order fresh plates of sushi, so no waiting around hoping they might your favourite dish out. The service is also amazing!!! I'll be back!
Pablo Squires
All plates $3... do I need to say anymore? Always great service, a bit quiet inside to take two young kids but it's casual enough for us to be always welcome. Try the crab balls!

Beware Entertainment Card holders ...<br/>Yuzu Kaiten Sushi refuses the use of entertainment discount on their $3 sushi train. This is their main attraction, and it is listed in the description for the entertainment card, as well as the main section on their website.<br/><br/>They say the $3 sushi train is a 'special offer', and so that card cannot be used, but it isn't. It's their standard price, and has been for years (I have been a number of times before). Nowhere on the website does it mention it is only a special (including under the specials area), and they also do not mention their exclusion of Entertainment Card use.<br/><br/>There is a small note about not being able to use the card when you reach the till, but nothing to let you know before that. (See the picture). They should be banned from the book.<br/><br/>I tried to discuss it with the manager, but his attitude was 'so sad - too bad'. It always amazes me that for a few dollars a business would rather lose a customer, and have them propagate bad reviews to others, rather than handling the complaint and gaining a loyal customer ??
Jenjenjenjen
We were disappointed compared to previous visits. We went for lunch on a Saturday and it was quite busy. Although the $3 sushi plates are a good idea, there was almost nothing on the conveyer belt because only one chef was making sushi and had to fulfil orders since there was no food on the belt...we ended up eating and spending a lot less than we would have otherwise simply because we didn't want to wait. The quality of the food and ambience in the restaurant also seemed poorer compared to previous visits.
Cen Ling
We came because we were gonna use our Entertainment book voucher but found out they have $3 special for all sushi every night! Nice aburi sushi, oyster crumbed & gyoza plus friendly service. We'll come back :)
David
A hidden gem. The sushi train has a fairly limited selection, but all the plates are $3 each. The make your own bento box is interesting and lets you choose from a decent selection. I've been here 3 or 4 times and will definitely keep coming back.

Good food, Good price and Good service. Karaage chicken very tasty. Green tea and black sesame ice cream very strong taste, love it so much.
Myhumma
$3 sushi plates all day everyday?? Wow what a steal. Although it serves average quality meals there is a nice variety of dishes to choose from and an overall nice atmosphere. The fam loves it and the service. 4.5/5
Black Cat
Really good value for money with $3 plates plus reasonably priced menu items. Can be a little squishy if busy. Really friendly staff and food comes out pretty quickly.
Mrs O
Great selection of basic sushi on the train - and at $3 per plate it's great value. Not as much selection as when the plates were colour priced - obviously. Other items are available to order and arrive promptly. The beef tataki is a definite standout dish, as are the gyozas.Good selection of udon noodle soups to choose from, and they do great value bento boxes at lunchtime too. They also provide glasses of water for patrons which is a nice change from venues that try to make you buy their drinks only. Small venue but it does the job. Wait staff are always cheerful and pleasant. Free parking for the first hour in the Town of Vincent carpark outside is also a plus!
Foodage
Beware write your name and number on the board when you get in otherwise you won't get a seat. I don't agree with it because it's not customer friendly but that's their system. I hate to say this but I'd come here for the $3 plate of sushi. Not that the food is bad but the budget price would be the driver to come here. <br/>Everything here is just ok. And that's the issue. <br/>We ordered salmon with avo, spider roll, miso soup, lobster gunakan, karage, gyoza and unagi sushi. I love soft shell crab so you'll know which was my fav in the list. <br/>It wouldn't because of the great food that I'm back but perhaps because dinner with friends that are local as was on this occasion. <br/>Ambience: 4<br/>Service: 4<br/>Food: 5

I dined here with my kids, I ordered the Deluxe Bento Box with teriyaki chicken ($22.80) and shared it with them. Both my kids loved the teriyaki chicken with rice. I got to enjoy the fresh sashimi which included a piece of scallop and prawn, so soft and fresh!<br/>My kids picked a plate of spring rolls (as kids do!), they were just fried and still hot and crispy so my kids thoroughly enjoyed them.<br/>I also tried the Lobster Salad sushi and Red Back Spider Roll ( spicy soft shell crab), both fresh and very tasty - I'd definitely recommend trying these.<br/>I make sushi at home often so it's nice to see and try some different kinds of sushi when I dine out.<br/>The restaurant is small, we sat in one of the 2 available booths which I was very comfortable in, as my young kids like to move about. The waitresses were very friendly and helpful.<br/>My daughter said "I love this restaurant, I want to bring dad here!"<br/>So I guess I'll definitely be returning.
Sean Drill
Not the best sushi (but definitely not the worst) in the world, but at $3 per plate no matter the type of sushi (or small plates like karage), its really a price which can't be beat! (3 pushed to a 3.5 based on the price)
Perth Critic
Very limited stuff on the sushi train, although can be made to order. Food are pleasant but not the best I've had. Also quite expensive too.
MmmFood
A reliable sushi train, delicious sushi and quick service. Always leave happy and full.<br/>Also good value for money, this is our go to for a quick and delicious meal!
Truth Inc.
A sushi train that never lets me down. A place that's in a strange little corner of the centre but is usually pretty busy and maintains a sushi train to meet the boys big eating demands ;)
Lamb Pickles
Had the hotate nigiri and the ramen. Can not go wrong the hotate nigiri but disappointed with today's ramen. Tasted a bit cold and lacked depth in comparsion to previous ramens eaten here.

Went for dinner last night and really enjoyed it. Very nice sushi, fresh and the mains were just as delicious. Friendly staff, very welcoming. Will return. Thanks team :)

The place needs to be tidy up.. Dear Owner,<br/><br/>I've wanted to try your sushi for a long while as I live in Mt Lawley. As I walked in, I got shocked how messy the inside was.<br/>I didn't know where to sit as they had so much stuff sitting on the tables and rubbish sitting on the floor everywhere by the side of wall area. It was almost filthy the way it looked. I sat down at the counter, but the table wasn't cleaned properly. I started looking around the restaurant. I saw a few people eating, one sushi chef and one male waiter. You need to train your staff as they obviously are not paying much attention to the cleaning matter.<br/>My lunch got served, but I just wanted to finish and go. <br/>I understand that it's not a 5 star restaurant, but if you are in the food industry, we do expect the restaurant to be clean and tidy as you can imagine. I was amazed that people are there still eating.
Regular Diner
Good food at reasonable prices. I have been to this small place on a number of occasions and still find it very good. Prices for Perth are more than reasonable and the last time I was there all sushi train prices were the same and more than reasonable.
Cass123
Enjoyed our dinner last Saturday night, good food, fresh sushi, reasonably priced and good service.
Hanna
Loved our dinner at yuzu kaiten sushi. We felt like we were in japan. Delicious food, we had gyoza, tempura prawn, and various sushi from the train. Great service. Thoroughly enjoyable! We will be back!
Natalie Hepple
Tried Yuzu Kaiten Sushi tonight as was very impressed. The food was fresh and full of flavour. I look forward to going again and trying the many dishes I never this time around.
CamSaya
Unfortunately all the sashimi wasn't at all fresh and everything else (octopus balls - takoyaki, spring rolls) is really from frozen packets. Service was pretty good.
Rick
Hmm in terms of food its not really bad. If you want authentic sushi book your ticket to Japan. This is Australia and hence it caters for the local palete. Food wise not bad tuna i had was fresh and fried food not too greasy. I would go again as u dont spend as much as in Nobu or even Tetsuya. Oh yeah no talk about bad quality as i find the sushi rice quite balanced although your wasabi is from the PRC ^_^/
Orange
Best value for money. This is my fav sushi place<br/>pretty good sushi and reasonable price esp on the half price sushi train night.<br/><br/>crowded most of the time. <br/>definitely go for the chilli mayo chicken sushi and the $3 creme brulee (on tue!)
Chilli Lady
Going down hill?? Or just go there early!. Yuzu was always fresh and delicious although a little more expensive than most sushi train type places.<br/>Lately not so good.<br/>I think you get better service the earlier you go. <br/>Have been to Yuzu on a few occasions around 9pm. Although it doesn't close until 9:30 I wasn't able to order anything - could only eat what was left on the train. Staff seemed less helpful - probably because they want to go home (although the Chefs are always friendly).<br/>If your going with less than 4 people don't even think about asking for a booth!! The place could be empty but if your just a couple you still can't sit in the booth!! Granted there is only two booths - but really you should be able to sit in one if there are no bookings and its vacant!
The Non Existent Diet
Amazing!. My family of five and I went on a chilly Sunday night at around 6pm. It was pretty easy to make a booking over the phone and upon arrival, it was pretty empty (bar a table of two in the corner) so walk ins would be pretty easy to secure a table. <br/><br/>Yuzu is a tiny shop tucked away behind Swish and Chips and it’s entrance is in a car park – what it lacks for in size it makes up for in terms of its food. We went with two entertainment book vouchers and the bill ended up being ~$60. For a table of six, indulging in pretty much three courses. Unheard of in Perth.<br/><br/>My sister picked off pieces of food off the sushi train including two pieces of avocado / crab stick sushi rolled in fish roe and two pieces of salmon/ avocado sushi rolled in black sesame, both which were incredibly fresh. We also shared a small plate of four takoyaki (octopus balls) which were deep fried, packed with soft and chewy octopus and drizzled in tangy mayo. Very good. My sister also lifted a plate of three deep fried prawn parcels (which resembled money bags) packed with seafood. The plates are colour coded to indicate price and varied from ~$4 to $6. The train was positioned directly next to our booth, making it easily accessible.<br/><br/>As an entrée we ordered prawn gyoza ($9.40 for 6 pieces), which were panfried, deliciously crispy and burning hot. The prawns inside were generous and it came with a small bowl of vinegar. Really nice to share. We also had the prawn tempura ($9.40), three mammoth sizes prawns in the lightest batter I have ever add – there was no greasy aftertaste and the prawns were succulent and well cooked. One of the best tempuras ever.<br/><br/>On the bento box side, we had a Special Bento Box with Fish Katsu ($19.80) and a Deluxe Bento Box with Teriyaki Tofu ($22.80). The Special Bento Box came with assorted sashimi, steamed rice, grilled prawns, karaage, salad, Japanese pickled vegetables, edamame (soybeans still in their green pod) and a piece of fruit (a slice of orange in this instance). The sashmi was beautifully presented – a burst of colour with slices of various fishes (including salmon andtuna), a cold smoked prawn and a dab of wasabi. The fish katsu was a highlight - crumbled and flaky inside. The Deluxe was the same except it came with the same as the Special Bento Box with the inclusion of tempura. The tempura was just as good as our entrée but the tofu was fabulous – just crunchy outside, slippery and fresh inside and dosed in a sweet sticky sauce. Yum.<br/><br/>Our mains were rounded off with Ginger Pork ($15.80). The pork was nicely flavoured, not particularly overpowering with ginger and the pork strips were tender. The potato mash that came with it was a bit of a disappointment – a small tiny blob holding up a dehydrated lotus root. The salad added some nice colour – it was a pretty dish. <br/><br/>For dessert we had a duo of a lemon jelly cup (lifted again of the sushi train) which came with a rainbow speckle chocolate and a bowl of green tea icecream ($4.50). The ice cream came out in two huge scoops alongside a dollop of sweet red beans. The beans had a jam like consistency, which contrasted nicely with the iciness of the green tea ice cream. It had a distinct macha taste and was deliciously creamy.<br/><br/>On the sides we order a few bowls of miso soup and steamed white rice. They all came out promptly. There were some language barrier issues during the ordering process, but everything managed to come out correctly (only a few repetitions were required). The lovely ladies that served us were quick to provide us with Japanese Green tea at the start of our meals and efficiently cleared up our plates throughout the meal.<br/><br/>All in all, a great place for Japanese food and worth the visit (and worth the value in money when armed with entertainment vouchers!). Yuzu has simple dishes that have great presentation, are nicely flavoured and don’t overdo it with the oil! Good desserts too – keen to try to the crème brulee next time!<br/><br/>Overall rating: Eight out of Ten Prawn Gyozas

Cozy and yum!. Went for lunch at YUZU today. Great little place - delicious food, cozy and pleasant atmosphere, and great prices, we will definitely be back! We had the $9.50 bento box lunch special which was delicious and a real bargain. (lots of vegetarian options too)
Bri
Sushi was definitely enjoyable here. Fresh and a great variety too. Perhaps a little more expensive than other rotating sushi. Service was pretty good, although English was a bit of an issue for some of the staff. Will definitely go back.
Captain Munchie
Just Ok. Went here with high expectations a couple of weeks ago, to be let down. To start, the place is harder to find than "Where's Wally." Once inside, we sat down at the sushi train and ordered Pork Dumplings & Soft Shell Crab. The sushi train had minimal options and only ended up having the tuna sushi nigri which was just ok. The Pork Dumplings were the only highlight and the soft shell crab put me off from ever going back, it was oozing with seawater type liquid, could not finish. Until next time ... 2/10.
Laura
We have been several times and the food is good. Last 2 times the staff are unable to understand English resulting in very poor service. Disappointing to see it go down hill. Get some decent staff.

One of my favourite restaurant on japanese food. so far this is the best beef tattaki in perth i like the most. they offer great variety & flavour for their sushi (sushi train). love the staff for friendly and polite. great food and satisfatory walk out the restaurant every time
Stas
So cheap and the food is delicious. The staff are a pleasure

Hmm.... Came here for the sushi train. The place was pretty busy when we got here, so we opted to wait until a spot was free. A spot eventually became free, but the wait staff took 15 minutes to clean the table before we could sit there (even though they knew we were waiting to be seated there), oddly removing only one plastic plate at a time and then leaving the rest of the mess there in front of us. So odd.<br/><br/>We asked the waitress to clear the rest of our table so that we could begin eating (not wanting the previous customers plates being accidentally included in our bill). It took them an extra 10 minutes to do so because the waitresses kept distracting themselves with other menial tasks, like folding napkins in the kitchen. Weird. Finally, the first waitress returned, finished clearing the table and apologised for the weirdly long wait and offered us a discount for our trouble. Good response.<br/><br/>We asked to order some items fresh off the menu, they hesitated, but finally agreed to our request. The ocotopus balls came out, but two were still frozen in the middle. The crab was fresh, crunchy and warm, the squid salad was fresh and delicious and the sushi was excellent.<br/><br/>I am in two minds about this place. The service is wonky, awkward and haphazard, but friendly. Some of the food was nice, but some of it was not. <br/><br/>I may give this place a second chance, because I have a feeling I came on a bad day.
Greyclub
Yuzu used to be one of my favourite places to eat at about 4 years ago. The food was fresh and reasonably priced. That seems to have changed unfortunately, as we just ate what was the worst bento box ever. The rice was gluggy, the food was cold despite us picking it up as soon as we were told it was ready. The katsu and karaage tasted old and dry, I'm not sure how they managed to mess up the pickles but they were pretty limp. At $20 for one bento it was pretty expensive aswell. Very disappointing.
Rebekah Prosser
Lunch special. A delicious bento box for lunch! Was served very hot and fresh but excellent waitress.<br/>At $9.50 (including tea) I can't see how there is anything to complain about. I will return.
Samsue
Disappointing. Picked this place for dinner on Saturday night only because it was in the entertainment book and had an 80% urbanspoon rating. We couldn't find the place and so called up to ask for directions, however the lady that picked up the call (was so polite and kind) however couldn't seem to understand a word I was saying! Eventually we found the place and were seated. Ambience was much different than I had imagined it to be, it was small and cramped and definetely not romantic. We tried sme of the sushi from the sushi train, however felt it was not fresh. Ordered an entree of the raw fish (salmon, tuna, scallops, prawns) that was absolutely fresh but at a price tag of $14.80 Id think twice before paying. The udon seemed normal and nothing special out of the ordinary. The green tea was absolutely diluted and couldn't taste anything. In the end, bill came to $50 after the discount. Definetly would not be worth dinner here without the discount. Will not be coming back.
Food Lover
I used to love yuzu but then what's with the sudden large price increase? Def not worth it with in increase in price, u might as well go down the road to hanami for some quality jap food.
Kitstar
Pretty good. Went there for a girls' catchup lunch. It's a tiny little shop tucked away in a little corner that I never would've known was there - it was like finding treasure! The service was efficient and friendly (though I never did get the spoon I asked for, I managed to make do by shovelling the saucy rice straight into my mouth like a peasant haha) I ordered the oyako don and while I much prefer the Taka's version with the pickled vegetables, this one wasn't too bad. The beef tataki carpaccio was a favourite of the girls. I liked the flavours, but found the beef a bit chewy (maybe I just had a grisly bit). I ended up having to swallow the beef whole because I couldn't seem to break it up. <br/><br/>I really liked tempura prawn gunkan and the other pieces taken off the sushi train tasted and felt fresh. I've had better agedashi tofu though. All in all it wasn't bad, I probably prefer Hanami up the road, but it was still better sushi than Jaws in my opinion and worth a visit.
D
Pretty good. I think the easiest way to describe it is similar to Jaws but a little better quality. I wouldn't rush back but wouldn't avoid it either.
TheKLF
Below average. I had the deluxe terriyaki fish bento and it was a wrong choice!! The terriyaki sauce was very salty and soaking the fish and rice, therefore hard to avoid eating it. The grilled prawn in the bento was going bad, smelling of ammonia. How could they still serve it :( only the tempura was quite alright. <br/><br/>The tuna maki and octopus salad sushi from the train are not too bad. Also had the green tea ice-cream and think that Baskin Robbins can make better. <br/><br/>Pretty pricey for the level of quality. Overall not a nice dining experience and won't be back.
Steo
Good quality food , recommend reserving a table as there's not much room inside.Youl find it down the alley next to Brumbys Bakery.
PerthfectBreakfast
My fave local joint. I like the fact that u can just rock up and start eating<br/>the staff are super friendly and effecient<br/>anything u dont see on the sushi train can be made to order<br/>the tempura sweet potato chips are always worth the trip down there<br/>the $9.90 lunch bento boxes are extremely good value
Chef Mlo
Pretty average.. I LOVE Kaiten-style sushi.<br/>Having been to Japan, I'm spoit for knowing how good Japanese food can be.<br/>Yuzu is average. I'm going to keep looking, as I'm sure there must be better in Perth.<br/>Some sushis were wonderfully fresh and tasty, but others were hard and stale.<br/>We ordered the vegetable tempura. It was very oily and not good.<br/>With so many great food options in Mt Lawley, it's hard to recommend Yuzu.
Belle
Great little sushi place. Went to have lunch on a Sunday just past, the place is small but cute with a sushi train that offers nice selection of sushi. The food is good, what you would expect from an establishment of this type. The place got packed out when we were there with patrons opting to wait for seats at the train, book to avoid disappointment!

Sushi train! Good first impression. Less sushi range but carries main dishes. Went for first time on Valentine's for their sushi. Will go for second tryout for their main..

Love the desserts!. The food here was pretty average, but they have some pretty decent sushi train (I don't quite remember what is it called, sorry!). Love the desserts though - you have to try the parfait!<br/>It's like a tall glass (serves 5 peson) of ice-cream layered with chocolate sauce, brownies and cornflakes! Absolutely fantastic :) <br/><br/>Would also go back for the really nice environment and very friendly staff.

Nice environment but "so so" food. Walked in to a small restaurant, very nice atmosphere, very friendly staff service, however because it hidden behind iga it took out quite a few walks before figure out the place. Not really crowded on Saturday night<br/><br/>I was aimed to eat sushi while my friend order udon meals. We was quite surprise that udon came in a small bowl. Quite small compare to what we eat at other regular japnese place. My friend tasted udon with the broth was quite salty. Sushi otherwise westernised, most of the sushi was decorated with japanese mayo which I hope some of the plate should avoid it such as raw salmon. Colour of the raw salmon was pale I wonder what wrong with it. I will said not really variety of range on the belt so you will hv to put in your order. Plating not really appealing to me after all but still I am not reluctant to try. Order a "fried prawn" nigiri - salty, overcoated dough and where is the prawn taste? Other sushi, I do think a little bit bland and salty at the same time. Sorry cant describe it.<br/><br/>Whether it is worth to try? I have no comment. So so the answer again. That what I am doing, trying all the places. I probably will come again for another many many many months just see if there is improvement.

second review: <br/>3.1 RATING<br/><br/>we live nearby so we come often. The staff here are polite and service is efficient. <br/><br/>Not the best kaiten sushi around (at full price, it is not that cheap and quality is not as consistent - rice falls apart easily depending on who makes the sushi. My other gripe is the aburi dishes (*torched sushi rolls: sometimes the fish is sliced so thin that the entire thing gets cooked when torched). <br/><br/>Other than that, i just love rotating belt sushis and this joint has good parking options. <br/>this place has 3$ for ALL sushi plates (Tuesdays) which i find is great value! <br/><br/>1st review: Hits and misses. Came here on friday night - service was great. Staff were friendly and kitchen was prompt. <br/><br/>Sushi train selections were so-so. Salmon was not as fresh. Food was average but extremely pricey for what it's worth - For instance tamago serving was pitiful - size of a big thumb n sliced very thin. Other than that - the a la carte menu was alright. Would return only because it's near my place.

Nice sushi. I hadn't been here for a couple of years and the types of sushi (and I'm pretty sure the sushi chef) had changed (for the better). It was busy for a Tuesday night - almost a full house, so my friend and I were lucky to get a seat in front of the sushi train (plus it's a small restaurant). The place offers a good range and quality maki (roll) sushi, nigiri zushi and also hot food (the person next to me was eating a bento box that looked tasty). Plates of sushi average at about $4 each (for two pieces). We had to ask about three times for our Japanese tea as the staff were quite busy. The green tea icecream (only had to ask once! :p) was really tasty - served with a sweet potato chip, azuki (red bean) paste and cream on the side. Yum! Will definitely be back :)

Alternative to Jaws. I have always wanted to try this place out since the last time i saw the ad online, which I managed to try it on sat after work. This place is soo hard to find.. it's behind the 24hours chemist! very small place but the food is surprisingly good!!! We had almost every type of sushi they had + a few other sides. The Scallop sashimi sushi + the kingfish one + octopus+ the salmon = MUST TRY!!! the scallop ones were sooo fresh and soft! Had the takoyaki and crab-balls as well.. crab balls just average... the takoyaki... some of them were still frozen inside but some were super hot.. so yeh...<br/><br/>The service was really good too!! There is an entertainment book voucher for this - 25% off. <br/><br/>Will definitely return!!

If Yuzu Sushi like I know sushi.... Good bento boxes. Tasty Japanese. Visited twice and was happy both times. More expensive than Tanpopo across the road, but far less frustrating! You actually get served here.

We used to go here alot when it first opened. Been there approximately 10 times previously it was so good the best setup and good food. Now it has changed owners went there once and won't be going back. The place has changed for the worse.

Quaint little place. Loved Yuzu!! Went there on a Sunday evening with my sisters. We were seated around the sushi train. We all ordered green tea (which was FREE) and a miso soup each and soon tucked into the moving dishes. We REALLY enjoyed the beef tataki, the sauce under the rice was a hit. However, the beef tataki would have been fine without the rice, as goes the salmon and tuna carpaccio. Sushi was fresh and light and the miso was average. Customer service was great, a warm feel and everyone else seemed to be enjoying their meals.

Visited Yuzu for dinner with a bunch of girlfriends. The food we ordered off the menu was really good - especially the gyoza, beef tataki and agedashi tofu. Not sure if it was because we were eating near the end of the night, but the sushi selection wasn't huge and some of it looked like it had been on the train for a few hours. Willing to give them the benefit of the doubt though and will try again at lunchtime another day.

Discovered the place just last week. The best Japenese I've had so far. Friendly service, fast and clean. Highly recommend.

Fantastic Lunch. I had lunch at Yuzu in Perth today, and it was fabulous! Their bento box was great value with many options!! I recommend everyone to go to Yuzu to enjoy such a great range of Japanese food in a chic environment were the staff are very friendly and helpful. <br/>My friends and I left feeling very satisfied.<br/>Thankyou Yuzu, will be back soon.

Still good. Have been to yuzu about 5 times in the past year. <br/><br/>tonight i had a sashimi plate as well as a few items from the sushi train. the sashimi plate featured 3 different types of fish, along with octopus, squid and scallops. i was actually expecting just tuna and salmon so was a tiny bit disappointed, nonetheless, the quality of the raw items was very good!<br/><br/>the sushi train didn't have much excitement about it. i remember it being a bit more tempting my last visit (2 months ago). despite the lack of visual stimulation, the sushi was delicious.<br/><br/>service wonderful, staff very friendly and obliging.<br/><br/>ps: $1/BYO item.

Disappointed Regular. Prior to the new management taking over, I was a regular customer at Yuzu and absolutely loved the food (I had a particular soft spot for the Tempura Sweet Potato). My partner and I went to Yuzu the other day as we had been away travelling and were excited to get back to our fave Japanese spot and were completely disappointed. The menu has changed (and not for the better, it is now just your "stock-standard" Japanese food). There was very little variety on the conveyer belt and when I ordered a sushi that was not on the conveyer belt I had to wait 30 minutes for it to come out, by this time I no longer really wanted it. The staff were also quite rude and dismissive. When we wanted to leave and have a staff member count up our plates it took 15 minutes to grab someone's attention as we could not get eye contact with anyone walking past, they kept walking past with their eyes fixed on the ground. We will definitely not be back, which is a shame because it used to be such a great place.

Yumzu!. Although not the easiest of restaurants to find we found Yuzu to be a great evening out. There was a great variety of tasty sushi and we also tried the spicy chicken wings and tempura which were delicious. The restaurant is only small but the nice decor and friendly staff give it an intimate feel. The food is reasonably priced too. Look forward to our next visit.

Great Japanese. I had a dinner with my husband last week at YUZU as I saw it is under new management on newspaper.<br/>It was very busy and we needed to wait for 15 minutes to have a table, also need to wait for place an order for 10 minutes but then we had a great Japanese food and great time there.<br/>Especially sushi was better than I had last year, sushi chef TAKA (sorry his name might be TAKE) makes proper sushi with soft sushi rice.<br/>I absolutely come back soon again.<br/>Thanks,
Sushilove
Love Yuzu sushi! Very fresh. Something different! Hot foods are also nice too!! I will go back there again.

I recently eat at yuzu. It was my first time having a sushi rice that is not cook. Seem like the management has change. Sorry yuzu, will not be back any more

New Management/Chefs. I recently visited Yuzu. It was shutdown over the Christmas holidays so I guess this is the time where it has either been sold to a new owner or whatever but everything has totally changed.<br/><br/>The Quality of the Sushi is terrible and messy, even when my partner tried ordering 2 plates of tempura prawn nigiri we were declined as they said they had no prawns left......hold on a second.....your a sushi place and have no prawns??? The rice portions for the sushi is way too big, and the rice was just plain unpleasant.<br/><br/>Then there was the waitress, ignorant though trying to fake cheerfulness, clumsy, and needs to learn how to use the eftpos machine properly.<br/><br/>Sorry Yuzu I was once a loyal and regular customer but its just terrible now.
Goose
Good food, but small servings of sushi per plate, and they don't seem to replenish the train very frequently, seemingly preferring to let it run down to those few unwanted plates. sushi is tasty, but not as much variety as many other trains in perth. the byo factor is good however with a total restaurant capacity of less than 20, having any kind of privacy or even quiet conversation is difficult.
Kazzablanca13
Best kaiten sushi in Perth. Well priced with some fresh and modern takes on sushi. Love the layout and decor. Tucked away so possibly largely underappreciated.
Terrine De Lapin
Nice sushi, but I reaaly go for the green tea or black sesame icecreams. ..yum & only $3.50 a serve

Yuzu-a-go-go. I could really go for a velvetty booth within arms reach of the sushi train. A floor-to-ceiling print of Tokyo in a tiny uber-funky urban nook; a menu of fresh hot and cold Japanese delights; noodles, sashimi and tempuras to die for. Staff who remember you each time, adore your small children always bring extra bowls for them. We LOVE it. Love it.
Kitstar
I would never have known it was there, as its entry is via the carpark behind the main strip (think behind Fresh Provisions). We went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon (ah it's so nice to find somewhere that's open on a Sunday in Perth, especially the smaller hidden ones!), arriving around 2pm. Unfortunately the shop closed at around 3pm, but as it's primarily a sushi train most customers would be in and out in pretty quick time (not like us girls who were there as much for the gasbagging as for the piggifying).
Preece
The staff are very friendly and bought out plastic bowls, cups and forks for the girls to use though they were to busy eyeing off what they wanted on the sushi train to notice.<br/>
