I’ve been to this store quite frequently, and by frequently I mean weekly (if not more) and have spend hundreds of dollars here over the past months of coming here and I have yet to regret a single dollar (excluding when I order wayyy too much because I love it all)
The staff are very friendly and so so helpful.
Have not met a single staff member that’s made me question this.
They have not once incorrectly made my order nor have they ever been “stingy” servings. Very very much recommend.
probably my favourite gyg joint in town. very good whether i'm dining there or ordering on ubereats. the food prepared fast and sometimes come with nice little messages on them. very well made at all times.
Tried the new nacho fries with spicy beef and they were awesome! So generously topped we also got a side of tortilla chips to mop up all the goodness. Cheap, cheerful and quick!
Mexcellent!!
We come here a lot, perfect for families with kids. You could even order on app and just get take away from them. The burrito's, burrito bowls and tacos are delicious, so full of flavor and very filling. All the items are very reasonably priced and the portions are generous. Funky set up, wonderful service, friendly staff and tasty food. Probably the best fast food chain in Perth and is becoming my favourite Mexican joint. The best part - Love this – they have a help yourself station with three varieties of chilli sauce, jalapenos, onion and coriander. Add as much as you want
.
One of my favorite place to eat Mexican food. Breakfast burritos and the tacos is good, the guacamole also really fresh. They used really fresh ingredient for their food. Definitely recommend it.
Always a great healthy fast food option. Love the grab yourself sauces, jalapeños and coriander at the counter. Burrito bowl is a very decent size! Easy to get too carried away with the extra add ons though so can end up being quite pricey if you get extra meat, guac, brown rice etc.
Have been wanting to go here for a while now so grabbed some takeaway for Sunday lunch. He had the pulled pork enchilada which was a large portion and thoroughly enjoyed. I had the burrito bowl, envisaging a salad/burrito bowl but it was meat, beans and rice. No sour cream, guac or lettuce so I was a little disappointed. The beef was lovely though. I would lean towards a burrito or an actual salad next time!
Large, open store with plenty of tables inside and out! Popped in tonight for a quick dinner before a show at Astor and although it was busy we had no trouble finding a table or ordering quickly. The space is very trendy and features cool, bright art on the walls. I went with the Quesadilla Trio in chicken, pork and barramundi. I opted for guacamole and sour cream on the side too. The quesadilla's were brown and crisp, and packed with filling. My favourite was the pork - it was soft and melt in your mouth and the flavour was delicious. Love the guac too - very fresh and zesty. The perfect place for a quick bite.
Fish burrito was amazing, tacos not so much. I miss the days when burritos were less than 10 bucks but I can't fault you for that - everywhere else is charging the same.
Quick and easy takeaway. Had the barramundi salad which had lots of taste and fresh veg. Could have had a bit more fish with a bit of a stronger flavour. Overall pretty good
The food is quick and tasty, but it depends what you order. The mild chicken hard tacos are my favourite. The service is very friendly and helpful, I went in on crutches and the girl at the counter carried my drink and number to the table for me. Love the frozen margaritas, especially in the hot weather. Shame it's on the corner and that there isn't a nicer ambience sitting outside.
Mrs Kiwichef had a hankering for Mexican for a change, so rather than face the 'interesting' night creatures down in Northbridge, we drove for the safe haven of Mt Lawley. We both had burrito bowls, with the option of brown rice, guacamole and sour cream. Mrs had spicy chicken and I opted for the spicy pulled pork, and I think hers actually tasted better (hate it when that happens!). The Pacifico beer was a little expensive at $9, as was the Three Oaks cider at $8.50. Overall, the food was pretty tasty, the service very friendly and welcoming, and the loud traffic noise rather irritating.
Delicious, fresh and full of flavour.
I love it here! The spicy chipotle pork is my favourite, it's full of smokey melt-in-the-mouth pulled pork, salsa and cheese. The barramundi filling is also gorgeous; flakey fish with subtle lime and chilli. The salsa bar/condiment collection is generous, meaning I can add as much coriander and jalapeños as I please. Overall, this is an incredibly good find - cheap, fresh, fast and delicious.
As the Mexican Revolution rolls on, we are treated to another big chain from over East in the form of Guzman Y Gomez. The restaurant is like a hybrid of Nandos and Zambrero with an urban chic fit out, selling booze with fun vibes and Mexican music. The menu is standard; burritos, tacos et al. We tried a pork and chicken burrito and it was generous and juicy, loaded with flavours. It's probably the best burrito out of the three (zambrero, mad mex). You can't beat a good burrito and this place does it very well.
Probably the best, easily available mexican in town. The grilled chicken is probably my favourite, and quesadillas are no bullshit, straightforwardly delicious. Staff make you feel very welcome as you walk up to the counter, but they do have a tendency of getting your orders wrong, or forgetting ingredients, which can be a little annoying. Aside from that, it's my go to mexican. Good eats!
Nice lay out enjoyed dinner here before going to see a show food was nice a fresh not badly priced for amount you get will go again if in area and want something casual
Enjoyed the mild Beef and Chicken Quesadillas for my lunch, they were fresh and hot. The service was very quick and friendly, but it was the afternoon and I was the only customer in the store.
They have a nice selection of free condiments (Onion, Coriander and Mild salsa) which I added to my Quesadillas. The Mexican cola is an excellent beverage to go with Mexican style food. -D
Mexicans know how to cook. It is fast food and by god it leaves your body fast. Always order too much and take it home for the next day once the war is over within my bowels.
Best fast food style Mexican in Perth, really good value and pretty decent quality, would definitely recommend, service also fast and friendly
Out of all the trending Mexican fast food places I have to say this one remains the best. For me it is the barramundi choice that seals the deal. The epic logo helps too (we all know I am a sucker for a good logo). But on more serious note, the food is borderline healthy and more Mexican than just beans and salsa. This will be my lunch today! Always a good sign when you write about some thing and immediately want it.
Love the pulled pork bowl. Have not yet tried anything else but been twice and lived the bowls. Lived in the States for a few years and reminds me of Chipotle although not as good but close to it! Def will be returning to try other dishes
Amazing !! Their $5 specials were way beyond expectation! Large portion sizes and great taste. The service was on point with the restaurant packed we were prepared to wait a while for the food but it came out quickly and freshly made. Very impressed !
Soft Chicken Tacos with Corn Chips and Dip. Amazing flavour and very filling!
Love this place, good fresh Mexican with yuck service and friendly staff. My fav is the hard tacos with spicy sauces and amlatin lemon aid. Delicious. But it isn't trying to be an upmarket Mexican restaurant, so I think some of he critiques are unfair but that's my opinion. My evening was almost ruined by a stupid couple letting their 2/3 year old run around screaming and being generally out of control whilst they ate, but nothing against the food. Will be back, for sure. So should the people from Mad Mex - to learn how to do quick Mex correctly!
Burrrrrazing!! look, for fast food this is the place. The burrito was HUGE the black bean delicious! came within 10 minutes had to roll out of there I was so full, staff really friendly too, will be back for sure!
Give it a go!. Went to G y G in Sydney last year but didn't like it ( and I LOVE Mexican food). Husband took me and our GF girls to Mt Lawley for an early dinner and....WOW.
We had nachos, tacos and salad (pork, chicken and fish) and is was fresh, plentiful and full of flavour. The little free tubs of sauces, chillies and onions were a brilliant touch and the fresh coriander was exceptional.
My young girls had the "kids" nachos and loved them. The chicken went down a treat and they raved about the cheese! They were a bit dry but only cos there were lots of lovely crunchy corn chips (not the Mission ones either!). Just get extra sour cream. Lovely staff and location.
Good food, great vibe!. Have been to GYG Mt Lawley a few times now and it keeps getting better.
Staff are getting their head around it (it can get busy) and are building good rapport with the regulars.
Food is always good, I love having the self serve condiments and salsas at hand so I can turn the spice up to volume 11.
Great being able to smash a couple of Pacificos and watch the traffic go by. The slushy Margherita is spot on also.
In all I'm a fan. Good fit out and a nice place to grab a good cheerful quick feed and a leisurely drink with a pretty authentic Mexican feel.
It's not quite Puerto Escondido, but it's as close as you'll get in Western Australia.
Rip in!
Ok, not incredible but still pretty good - fast service even though busy, nice atmosphere and layout for summer, friendly service. Spicy chicken was the pick of the bunch!
Was there last night. I like this better than the one at Northbridge due to the space and ambience. Burritos and Nachos were good. Someone from the staff came and asked us if everything was good and if needed anything else!
Great location, food and Staff! Definately recommend it!
I was quite pleased with my first visit to GYG Mt Lawley. The flavours are mostly what you would expect from a Mexican fast-food franchise. However the fully licensed drinks menu and free condiments were a nice, new touch. The staff were friendly and welcoming too, which nicely rounded out the whole experience. GYG, I will be back for your delicious chicken guerrero!
Went to this place for dinner w the family.
My wife had A Chicken Enchiladas, my son a Chicken Nachos and I had Pork Hard Tacos.
All of it tasted good. The price per bowl was about 10+ dollars
Delicious food and great coffee at very reasonable prices. The amazing decor definitely transports you to an authentic setting. Guzman y Gomez is definitely worth a visit! We've become regulars for breakfast over the last couple of months!
GYG Mount Hawthorn is really fantastic. We often pop by here for a brekkie special over the weekend, especially when we are out and about early in the morning (like after an early morning SUP session).
They've got wonderful combo meals, and such good prices.
The food is always fresh and delicious, the quality is fantastic, the coffee is wonderful and the staff are absolutely amazing.
Definitely a place worth visiting.
My go to Mexican restaurant and definitely the top on my list. Absolutely love love love their food. Always fresh, right proportion and texture. Love the pulled beef nachos the most!
In love with this outlet every time I visit them. Their burrito bowls are irresistible and staff is very welcoming. Enchiladas are also nice. Recommended!
Food is always good. They need to keep on top of cleaning there tables, and please offer proper cutlery, I broke 3 stupid wooden forks trying to eat there.
