Review Mirchi Masala Indian Restaurant - Mount Lawley

Ric syal
First thing it is not traditional indian food or close . All the food has very rich flavour . Some dishes very sweet .they charging fortune for food ,specialy indian bread which are cheap to make . They are charging like a fine dine but it is not. Service allright cant complaint .Another matter if u go there on monday half price curries which is good part but if u having take away same day than they gonna charge you full price ,which is not make sense because u r not using their dining service and they charging u full price. Portion size in the take away and dining are both different .

Not recommended, biriyani was like sambar rice, chicken chilli was a dynamite (explosive hot), curry had many blocks of uncooked onion, they charge $4 per bottle corkage for per person per bottle. Kabab was cold. Service was average!

Delicious food. We had the lamb saagwala, nawabi chicken and peshwari naan. This was some of the best indian cuisine we've ever eaten. We ordered takeaway and the service was very good and only took about 10 minutes to be prepared.

It's amazing and warming experience always to be at Mirchi Masala, We are coming to Mirchi Masala for last few months and every time the service is excellent and the food is just incredible. The service and quality is excellent. I really appreciate all the staff member ( Danish and Denash)in Mirchi Masala for good customer service . Thanks

15th August : Terrible pani puri... roti's were half baked, everything had no taste and looks like made in used oil... would avoid coming back to this place despite their 50% off offer. The best part was lady who was serving, she was very presentable and polite..

Family owned place with flavours you simply can't replicate elsewhere. Very reasonable prices and genuinely lovely staff and service. Order the Dal Tadka, it's unbelievably good.

Is the worst restaurant to visit in terms of their service. Waited for an hour and we were not given priority against the white as we ordered the food before them.. was really frastruated. Please improve .
Charly Leather
Our favorite Indian takeaway. We get biriyani and naan. There are always leftovers.

Love this place, it is a regular. The Mirchi Masala Chicken and Lamb Rogan Josh are favourites, and the garlic naan is delicious. BYO too which is a bonus - especially now there is a bottle shop next door!!

My third time eating here and unfortunately I wont be coming back. went in on Monday to take away, but there was no way we could've even eaten in the restaurant- it was like a sauna inside. uncomfortably hot, perhaps no a/c? the chicken vindaloo had a total of 6 bits of chicken swimming in the spicy sauce, which is shame because it was tasty. Chicken tikka masala was the same, however at least had capsicum and onion thrown in to fill up the container. don't waste your money here.

Nice food like to go there again nice service half price on Monday and Tuesday on every curry and entree hyderabadi tikka and samosa was outstanding definitely i am going there again<br/><br/>

Dec16: (2.0 rating) too much onion used to bulk up all the dishes we ordered, yuk... really disappointing. My score went from 4.5 after the first visit, to 2.0... <br/>dare I have a third go??? I'll give it a break I think...<br/>Oct 16: (4.5 rating) Just recently dined at this local gem with a friend, and was soooooo impressed! It was pumping... half price curries on Monday and Tuesday as well BYO! You beauty! We had the Mirchi Chicken curry (medium heat), Palak Paneer, naan and basmati, absolutely divine! Highly recommend this little gem, I will be back soon to tick off more from the menu! Also open 7 days a week, a rarity in Perth!!!

Me and my husband travel 30 minutes from midland to come eat here, not once have we had a bad experience.<br/>Food wise: Every time we eat here we tend to gravitate towards our staples, Samosa, onion bhaji, chili cheese (IDK what its called on the menu that's just what he calls it.) (also these entrees come in a mixed platter with another entree that slips my mind but is also amazing and fresh tasting) and muttar paneer. And finishing it off with homemade pista kulfi..... there literally are no words to describe how beautiful this experience is, at the end of every meal we thank the server and the chef for such an incredible experience especially the ice cream its a taste you have to experience to believe. however, we have also had many other dishes (all vegetarian) and my family who are meat eaters have had the butter chicken and lamb vindaloo and both really enjoyed. This place should really be proud of its fine cuisine.<br/>Service wise: i have had a few servers all female and all incredibly friendly and welcoming, Arjun and i love pretty much just a chopped onion and cucumber with our curries and it wasn't an issue. Also, any question regarding the food they were able to help us out with so 10/10 for service and they are very friendly. <br/>Recommendations: Dal Makhani (Black lentils in a rich creamy sauce with rice rather than naan), Muttar Paneer (Beautiful cheese with peas in a yellow gravy best eaten with rice), All entrees are fresh authentic and beautiful tasting my partner recommends samosa in particular always fresh and i am a sucker for cheese so i recommend the chili cheese (IDK what its referred to in the menu), And you cannot leave without finishing with the Pista Kulfi, if you fill up fast forget entrees and just get curry and ice cream because it really just brings true happiness to the end of our meal, we get one to share and it ends the evening perfectly .<br/>We take our Indian food very seriously haha constantly searching for places that brings a smile to his face, needless to say by our review we very rarely take our food elsewhere and are constantly talking about Mirchi masala if we do decide to dine other places. We have every reason to believe this could be the best Indian Restuarant in Perth, we pray that it never leaves, upsetting we could not eat there tonight as Arjun is working.

Hi ,there just as usual h ad another great meal at mirich , great service , tasty food , recommend anything on menu cheers keep up good work alan

Have been hearing about Mirchi Masala from a friend and went tonight after work for dinner - Very glad we did as it was absolutely beautiful.<br/><br/>Had the Non vegetarian Entrée platter between three of us for starters (but swapped the Fish Amritsari for Chilli Paneer) and it was the perfect start to the meal. Tender chicken tikka, lamb seekh kebab, tangdi kebab (marinated chicken) and the swapped chilli paneer was tasty, well seasoned and a great way to sample a wider variety of the starters. The platter was enough for the three of us.<br/><br/>For mains we had the obligatory saffron rice and butter naan 👍🏼 and teamed this up with Dal Makhani (black lentils cooked and finished with cream, butter and spices - amazing flavour), Malai Kofta (cottage cheese, potato dumplings with a sweet twist in a cashew gravy - luscious and balanced well with the other tangy/spicy flavours), Bhindi Do Pyaza (an amazing okra dish) and Mirchi Masala Special Chicken (tender chicken in a superb gravy).<br/><br/>We were very happy with the dishes - all were different and packed with flavour with generous amount in the dishes (which seemed to contain more than physically possible....)<br/><br/>We ended up with a decent amount to take home also after not being able to finish what we ordered....<br/><br/>Will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes on the extensive menu.

Near perfect meal. So authentic and such good flavour. Went on a Tuesday night. With half price on Monday and Tuesday so surprised it is not packed.

On the outside this restaurant doesn't look very nice, more like a take away shop, bit inside it is gorgeous! Presented very nicely. We went on a weeknight and it was dead quiet, only one other table, so I was a bit disappointed with the amount of time it took for the food and drinks to come out. For entree we had samosas which were nice. Main I had butter chicken and rice with naan, and my partner has tandoori chicken. The tandoori chicken was yum! Best I've ever tried in Perth. The butter chicken was nice, but sweet/ very sweet, so if you like that taste it's fine. I liked it. The other issue I had with it was that there was only a few pieces of chicken in it. Normally I order a main and take the rest home to have the next day, but I ate all of it and was still hungry. It was nice but needed more meat, less sauce. Naan was nice. Service was polite, but I wouldn't say friendly. I don't really like that the toilets are outside the restaurant but there's not much you can really do about that I guess. I've been here 3 times now and never had any problems with the restaurant. Over all, a pleasant experience :)<br/><br/>Update 31/12/16: Have been here a few times since and this has become our favourite local Indian place. They have a deal at the moment for half price curries on Mondays and Tuesdays so they saved $$$. Really enjoying the food and there is a huge variety if you order from the take out menu! I would prefer to curries to be larger in size but I normally don't finish one anyway, we normally share and have some left over. One time we got some complimentary pani puri and papadums so that was great! Check it out, you won't be disappointed!

We've only ever had take away, but this place is a little gem. Meals are always ready quickly, on time, and the service is very friendly. The chaat menu is great value, the cholea buttaray is just like my nanna made it. Great vegetarian menu options too. The gulab jamun are a real treat.
Auntyric
The best local takeaway. No more containers just <br/>filled with gravy and 3 pieces of meat. Highly recommend Dal chicken and Bhuna Gosht - lamb with spices and onions. Both medium heat which really isn't too hot ,just tasty.

Yesterday we all friends plan for a reunion at mirchi masala. And I really surprised with their yummy, delicious curries all with the real Indian taste and tadka. And the staff was so friendly, soft spoken and provides the high class customer service. The mirchi masala team really make our day. So, thank-you mirchi masala to keep alive indian taste in Perth. All the best 👍

We did the function at Mirchi Masala and it was excellent. Food was amazing especially goat curry and dal makhani. Customer service was good. I would recommend everyone to go there.
Himanshu Parmar
Always enjoy the meals served. Flavours are consistent and well balanced. <br/>Won't say the best indian in perth, but the Dal Makhni & Romali roti are 5 star.<br/>Must try.
Bhavika Mehta Varia
I was a happy customer of Mirchi Masala but now on the chefs are putting a lot of colour in curries and i would say its completely unhealthy for the people.please consider this

I've only ever ordered takeaway from Mirchi. Great local Indian takeaway. Serving portions are spot on, all main dishes we've tried have been delicious. Really tasty entrees too. Prices are reasonable for a neighborhood takeaway. I'll be back one day soon, I'm sure!
Dhiva
We always get takeaway from these guys as they are only a stone's throw away from where we live. The meals never disappoint and the service is great! Our must-have is the Lamb Briyani & the Mirchi Masala special curry. Their gulab jamun isn't too bad either - a nice fix for those cravings after a nice Indian meal! One of the best places for Indian food along Beaufort St guys!

Lovely meal .... Wasn't disappointed. The food was great and don't have to wait long for our yummy food love it .Tasty as always highly recommended......

One of the best Indian restaurant I have been to in Perth I will definitely reckon everyone to try there chilli paneer which is mouth watery and there Romali roti also which is worth trying
Steven Singh
I had worst food experience ever in Perth. We ordered Bombay Chicken and Hyderbadi Kebab for entree. Bombay chicken supposed to have gram flour batter (struggled to find any), it was so bitter and full of mustard seeds, we could not even finish quarter of portion. Hyderbadi kebab was cold and soggy. Mains weren't any better either, Paneer Pasanda was full of pickle stuffing which made it horrible to eat, so salty and bitter you just can't imagine, Hayderbadi Handi curry had raw and large chunks of vegetable. Waitress brought our naans and roomali roti, we were surprised when she took back roomali roti and brought only half a portion of original. To add further horrible surprise, we were charged corkage despite me checking with staff prior to making a booking and no mention on the menu. Literally we wasted $85 and ruined our evening, money gone down the gutter. Never going again, An expensive lesson indeed.

Best Indian food in Perth along with great service and at very reasonable price. You must try this restaurant atleast ones you won't be disappointed. Don't forget to try paneer tikka, mixed platter and Dal Makani you would love it.

One of the Best places in Perth. I came here with my friends for a dinner. We were given a warm welcome by the staff as the booking had already been made.<br/>We had opted for all you can eat Banquet menu, I guess the preparations were already done as the starters were served not long after we had arrived. Tandoori chicken and lamb seek kebab were to die for. After that we were served the mains. Never in my life have I had such good food. I wish I had an extra stomach with me to make the best use of the all you can eat menu. Wait staff was very attentive and made sure that food never stoped coming in from the kitchen. A+++ service and even better food. I will definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to try authentic Indian food in Perth.

Abysmal. Tinned mushrooms and chicken scraps in gravy.. I was excited to try this restaurant as it's close by and we could walk to it. <br/>We ordered a chicken madras (hot) and kadhai mushroom, both with rice. The food was out within about five minutes which would indicate it's not cooked from fresh. The chicken was terrible quality with lumps of bone in it. It seemed like the chef had piled loads of chilli powder in to accommodate the request for it to be hot but there was no actual flavour to it. The kadhai mushroom was full of tinned mushrooms! I can almost understand using a couple of tinned mushrooms in a curry that was based around something else, but seriously - if you can't supply fresh mushrooms then don't offer it as a dish!!<br/>The rice portions were small and the curries were floating in oil. We both had indigestion and suffered all night, despite hot milk before bed. <br/>Do yourselves a favour - go and eat somewhere else!

Best Indian food ever!. Having been to this restaurant a few times I am always amazed at their fabulous food. Its the best Indian I've ever had anywhere in the world including Asia

I really enjoyed the home style Indian food here. Large serves at a good price and the service was smiling, friendly and efficient. Looking forward to returning and sampling other dishes. It won't be long!!

Amazing curry. My wife and I ate at mirchi on valentines day and we were extremely impressed. We love Indian food and eat a lot of curries . We had chicken Karachi and lamb bhuna wow ! As soon as I saw the perfectly reduced gravy I new we were in for a treat. The curries were just to die for tender meat in fragrant and complex gravies very generous servings at a fair price 10/ 10 our new favourite resturant !

Delicious food and beautiful catering. Me and my husband visited this restaurant and we ate vegetarian (paneer tika ,naan, roti and paratha of paneer) and non vegetarian (chicken biryani and tandoori chicken) food. Desert was very delicious and tasty. All food was fresh and with good quality. This visit was awesome. Everything was great and awesome .

Over rated curry place. ... Reading all these reviews, we thought it must be gr8. Service was good. All curries made with same butter chicken gravy. Didnt feel any difference. Its so frustrating to see so called indian chefs try to fool people with different names. Come on guus, wake up and do some real aithentic food that india is known for. Not happy.
Greedy Sam
Great experience. As a curry fan I really love this place. Their interior design is clever, the service is attentive and the menu is varied and not just the usual dishes they have at every restaurant . Have been twice in a few weeks, experienced 6 different dishes and enjoyed them all. I highly recommend the vegetarian platter as a starter. I will be returning !

Wow. Long waiting time.. We waited over 80 minutes for a meal, watching countless dine-in and takeaway customers get served before us. It's all well and good to be understaffed and have a long waiting time, but when a family sat down half an hour after we arrived and still got their food before us, that was the last straw. The place was not even busy. After inquiring why we were not being served in order, the waiter simply smiled as he ran to hide in the kitchen, saying 'your food is coming'. <br/><br/>The food was decent quality, however we were not offered a discount. The staff DID offer us free dessert.. but the last thing we wanted was to sit in the restaurant any longer, we were already late for our other appointments. Would never in a lifetime return here, thanks for an awful evening.

Great catering and excellent service. Recently had a catering order and all my staff nearly about 50 people liked the food. Thank you for the management for providing me such a great service.<br/><br/>Wish you good luck.

Good Food, Good Service. My family & I went for dinner tonight, we love Indian food & absolutely love Mirchi Masala I would say that it is the best Indian food in Perth, the staff were very friendly and attentive.<br/>We will certainly be coming back & I will be recomending this restaurant to all my friends.<br/>Thank you for a great meal.

Excellent food & excellent service....<br/>I ordered some take away dinner from them tonight. When I reached home I realised that they had forgotten to put the phirni(dessert) in my take away bag. I called them straightaway and told them the situation. They not only apologised for their mistake but took my address and delivered the phirni to my home. Now thats what I called excellent service. Hats off to you guys.... I will recommend your restaurant to all my friends & colleagues

Excellent vegetarian options. Delicious food and great service
Cutepenelopy
Good food worst service. We went to this restaurant tonight hoping for good food and service but our total experience was full of disappointment. The food was good but we waited 1 hour for our mains to come, after waiting one hour they only brought us half of our order. The restaurant was preety full and there was only one girl running back and forth in floor and no one was there to help her. <br/>I just have one suggestion for the owner, That they need to put more staff on floor and work on customer service because you can't run a restaurant with only good food and very very bad service. <br/>Not visiting this place ever again.
Mr. Singh
Tasty Indian food with amazing customer service. I went out to try them last week, was not disappointed like many other Indian restaurants I have been in Perth.<br/>the food was tasty, specially the Chilli chicken and Tandoori fish<br/>great customer service, will highly recommend
Daws
Liked it. We dont try Indian cuisines often in Perth but this place is worth a go. We tried Chilly chicken, Veg platter, Goat curry masala, Chicken tikka Masala along with few naans and rumali rotis. The food served here is amazing and authentic. The staff is very friendly, patient and more than happy to suggest you dishes as per your taste. Our overall experience was very good and we highly recommend this place to others. <br/>Keep up the good work guys and you will see us again.

Wonderful food, atmosphere and service. I live in Mount Lawley and can say there are a few Indian restaurants nearby. However, none compare to the newly opened Mirchi! It's really great. Great food, great prices. Nice and clean and the service is great. I mention the service in particular as it is something I noticed compared to other restaurants, they are warm and friendly which is rare. Must try it out!!!
Akanksha.gandhi
Ak47. Food was really nice and each curry was different in taste which we really enjoyed as a family. Tandoori fish was awesome but serving size at the price of $21.00 was a major let down. It won't even suffice to one person and that too entre size. Fish was just Palm size and we are not big eaters as well.<br/><br/>Ambience was ok but they still have to look after hygiene which most Indian restaurant ignore.. <br/><br/>Hope you maintain taste and quality in coming years.<br/><br/>Good luck

A place I would definitely visit again. The moment I walked in this restaurent the ambience gave me a feel that I was in Mumbai. The lady who waited us was really friendly and polite. The samosas for entree wasnt much impressive. However the main course was exquisite. The lamb briyani was the best. The meat in the briyani was soft and well cooked. In addition to it the mirchi masala spl curry was also pretty awsome. Finally the mango lassi was really thick and tasted good. The prices for the dishes were also nominal. I would definetly recommend this restaurent for anybody looking for a good indian culinary experience. Also looking forward to visit the place again.

Best food...*****. One of the best Indian restaurant in perth for serving indian food.<br/>Yesterday i been to there...<br/>Really best customer service<br/>Quality of food is great and so delicious...<br/>5***** from my side....!

10 + 1....! SIMPLY OUT OF THE BOX.....!. Now this is what I call Excellent.....! The mark of a good restaurant is not necessarily its size, but the quality of its food and the generosity of its staff. Along that line, some of the finest dining experiences I've had throughout my eating out expierence have been in the small diners and dives.<br/><br/>Surprisingly "Mirchi Masala" is one of that restaurant where you can go blindly and have one of the best meals you have had in a long time.<br/><br/>To start with, It was the first time I had to vist this restaurant, I guess 2 months since it has opened for my wifes surprise birthday party.I was referred to this restaurant through one of my friend.<br/><br/>The food which was served was really very Authentic in taste and amazingly tasty.<br/>Especially Veg samosa , lamb seekh kabab and goat curry were to die for.. ( Recommended )<br/><br/>But only good food cant make a restaurant a nice place to visit, you need to have attentive, friendly & generous staff as well. This place is got geniuen friendly staff and really knowledgable about what they are serving. Manager of the restaurant was the key to sucess of my whole dining expierence on that night.<br/><br/>Ambience of the restaurant is fairly modest and crisp. which you can live with.<br/><br/>To summarize the whole expierence , I would say<br/>going to a place for first time and getting blown away with fantastic food and amazing service was not in my books before reaching there.<br/>But "Mirchi Masala" team made it happen. Kudos to the whole team.<br/><br/>every single person in that surprise party was blown away with the quality of food and service. we were around 30 people. I had the party 20/10/14 and I am still getting messages from my friends about the food and what awesome time we spent in "Mirchi Masala"<br/><br/>I Will be back soon guys.....! Please dont change, be the same , You guys will rock Perth City.....!
